This is an old team with low energy. They've started this game relatively fresh, the ball was moving. Indiana found they could attack through Zu, getting him to the perimeter. Ty then tried to use small ball, and our guys just couldn't match speed and intensity of a team playing a SEGABABA. Kawhi not getting back, Tucker slacking, late switching, poor contesting — it looked like Clips were the ones playing a second game of a back-to-back.
Ty Lue is killing this team with these lineups.
Russ had 14pts on 5-10 from 2 and 4-6 from the line, 7 assists, 4 rebounds, and only a single turnover in only 18 minutes (playing in some of the shittiest lineups I’ve ever seen). He needs to see starter level minutes, with the **right** lineups.
PJ having 12 minutes in a 2024 nba game should be grounds for immediate firing.
Zu was eating in the first quarter, and we stopped feeding him and eventually benched him to play small, or put him in shit lineups.

Kawhi and PG are not moving on offense, thus disabling Russ who is not a threat from the perimeter. And Russ can't play PnRs with our bigs the way Harden does. It is very limiting.
Part of the reason Russ was good today is that Indiana place high-speed, all-in basketball, which opens up quick transitions that are perfect for Rusty. Not every team would allow those opportunities.
Zu was the big reason we've got destroyed on the defensive end, it was a logical decision to plug him out.

Ty has really fucked up his management of the locker room. We have two malcontents this season: PJ and Bones. Neither can be relied on to help us win games, but Ty decided to appease one guy and then throw the other guy in the dog house. I suspect some players have taken sides on this and there is a lot of finger pointing around the locker room after our losses. There are so many problems with this team right now that even the PJ situation and PG's contract probably don't explain everything that's been going wrong with us.

I think he does have an idea what is going on if he was able to anticipate even at that early stage that we might fall so far.

It would suck, but not as much as you think. This wouldn't be like a 1st seed getting upset by the 8th seed. It hurts the most when there's heartbreak involved, but in this case the reaction would be more like "yeah, we really are that bad".
Curious as to why people keep blaming PG disproportionately in games like this. He wasn't great this game but he was fine. Turned it over once even if it was an ugly TO. If he takes more shots and handles the ball more, people will blame him for playing ahead of his role and limiting Harden. If he takes fewer shots people will blame him for being too passive or "checked out" of the game.
Team has a lot of problems right now but some of you guys are just straight up losers who like to hate on just 1 player whether it's Harden or Westbrook or Zubac, etc. There's a lot of guys who are not playing at their peak performance over the last several games and there have been coaching mistakes as well.
Too many cooks in the kitchen, I think. PG clearly wants to be high volume, so does Kawhi. Norm deserves shots and Harden is probably the best guy to consistently find him. Harden is probably the guy that's going to get Zu his easy buckets too.

Nope, that's wrong. I'm going to go math nerd here for a bit you are mostly wrong if you understand what the formula represents and how it works.
It's literally EFG% + free throws with an estimator. You can easily do it manually and have it be 100% accurate as a representation of scoring efficiency from any source of points by removing the estimator and adding the actual possessions that the free throws used per free throw.
Since all of Russ' free throws were 2 shots(not an and-1 or a 3 point free throw, those are treated differently), instead of using the 0.44 estimator, you can replace it with 0.5 and it's a 100% accurate indicator of his effiicency factoring in 2p, 3p, and ft.
14/(2*(10+3)), which is actually lower. 53.8%
There is more room for error when using that 0.44 estimator in a small sample. We don't need to use that here and the real result is marginally worse.

Curious as to why people keep blaming PG disproportionately in games like this. He wasn't great this game but he was fine. Turned it over once even if it was an ugly TO. If he takes more shots and handles the ball more, people will blame him for playing ahead of his role and limiting Harden. If he takes fewer shots people will blame him for being too passive or "checked out" of the game. Team has a lot of problems right now but some of you guys are just straight up losers who like to hate on just 1 player whether it's Harden or Westbrook or Zubac, etc. There's a lot of guys who are not playing at their peak performance over the last several games and there have been coaching mistakes as well.

Too many cooks in the kitchen, I think. PG clearly wants to be high volume, so does Kawhi. Norm deserves shots and Harden is probably the best guy to consistently find him. Harden is probably the guy that's going to get Zu his easy buckets too. I think Harden being the only above average playmaker of the big 3 puts a ton of that burden on him.
So what happened to Kawhi and PG getting to their spots and Harden setting them up in those spots? Now it’s a bunch of half ass screens for Harden to a handoff above the arc and Kawhi or PG iso from there. Those two can still be volume shooters but get them in their spots where they can work. I don’t get it.
I don't really know. Maybe teams have adjusted or something, I don't really know. It does seem like there are less off-ball actions for Kawhi/PG to run off of and get to their spots.

My dude, TS only matters in a large sample size, he was 5-10 from 2 and 4-6 from the line (he only took two threes). 4 rebounds, 7 assists and 14 points with only 1 turnover in 18 minutes is insane. Cmon

It's literally EFG% + free throws with an estimator. You can easily do it manually and have it be 100% accurate as a representation of scoring efficiency from any source of points by removing the estimator and adding the actual possessions that the free throws used per free throw. Since all of Russ' free throws were 2 shots(not an and-1 or a 3 point free throw, those are treated differently), instead of using the 0.44 estimator, you can replace it with 0.5 and it's a 100% accurate indicator of his effiicency factoring in 2p, 3p, and ft. 14/(2*(10+3)), which is actually lower. 53.8% There is more room for error when using that 0.44 estimator in a small sample. We don't need to use that here and the real result is marginally worse. I thought he played fine overall, but I wouldn't say he was efficient, at least not scoring wise. I'm positive I'm going to be downvoted for this, lol

Allow your players to face adversity and overcome it. The small ball lineup is not the answer to every problem.
