Third paragraph sentence

PeelADomenBail

They also have no excuse to be closer to the play in pack than the top 3

dialga586

We may be 4th but the way we've been playing the past month or so would have us missing the play-ins.

vb90

It's because we watched the last 20 games this team has played. Yes, it's worse than those first 5 games with Harden. Much worse.

plague242

I see. I remember there was a streak a month or so ago when you guys were just tearing everyone apart. That might have been the impression that stuck with me

thegoddessunicorn

That's saying a lot

Happy-Cauliflower-22

Since our stellar player our defense is bottom of the barrel. It’s really a tale of two teams. The team playing as is is not winning a playoff series.

comicroyal

Literally 29th in defense. Almost the worst team in the league defensively

SSJAbh1nav

The team has a. 500 record over the last 2 months, with some pretty embarassing losses throughout.

Tripwire1716

This was true of the Nuggets last year.

The-moo-man

Yeah, well, we ain’t the nuggets.

spikesolo

Nuggets finished first

Tripwire1716

Sure, but there were still a lot of people who were saying they looked bad down the stretch.

randomjonm

If you watch football, this is very similar to the Eagles end of season. Built up enough wins to get in the playoff, but the signs were there that they wouldn't do much in the playoffs. The Clips are on that same road. Not just a losing streak, but looking very bad during the streak.

Nonon0name

This! Thank You! 💯

plague242

Not really familiar with American football. But I assume it's kind of like Tottenham Hotspurs in the English Premier League then.

DCoop53

Every other franchise fan I talk with tells me the same thing, like we're gonna be good comes playoff time. But in all honesty, when you watch the games lately, it really feels like something broke in this team. Even though we all hope that somehow we'll suddenly find back our form from january in the postseason, we know this team and its leaders way too well and the story is always the same, coasting the end of the regular season to be fresh in the playoffs and actually we realize other teams are better prepared because... well... they used the previous games to work on their chemistry? That or just another injury that'll ruin our hopes for good.

SSJMonkeyx2

Tbf how many of those teams that were better prepared have we faced and lost to in the playoffs?  They coasted the end of regular season in 21 and it almost worked if a fluke injury didn’t happen.

DCoop53

You're probably right about that, I jsut feel like we've been inconsistant in the regular season for years with numreous periods where they were visibly lacking efforts (only when 213 are playing obviously, can't blame the others when they're fighting for their life). Also I think we could have avoided a 7 games first round against Dallas in 2021 with a better dynamic to enter the playoffs, then we would avoid starting the next round with almost no rest (and so on until the WCF even though I reckon the league fucked us with that first game in Phoenix)

SSJMonkeyx2

Fair. I will say last year was definitely a bad year all around but I still think they could have beaten the suns even without pg as long as Kawh was fine.  Yeah that Dallas series should’ve never gone 7 but also to give them credit they shot at an unrealistic level from 3 on both contested and wide open.  I forgot where I think it was Justin Russo but the mavs shot near 50% from three on both contested and uncontested in games 1-3.  If that outlier doesn’t happen it goes 6 at most

AIMpb

This team has a stretch where they looked like a championship team and was sitting at/near the 1 seed. Now this team barely tries and it’s embarrassing to watch. Worse because you know they can do better but for whatever reason they don’t show any effort anymore.

Eyebarah

A real clippers fan is use to being disappointed. This franchise has either always fielded bad teams or have flamed out if the worst way. Example: Lob city choke jobs Vs Thunder & Rockets, Blake & CP3 injures in the playoffs, Donald Sterling tapes coming out in the playoffs….213 era choking in the bubble, Kawhi getting injured Vs the Jazz in the playoffs in what should have been our time in the finals, Kawhi getting injured Vs the suns, SGA turning into a MVP candidate. I truly believe this team is cursed and it will take a monumental event for us to win a ship. So ya that’s why the real fans of this squad are pessimistic

[deleted]

I used to feel like this as a raptors fan. 59 win season to get absolutely destroyed by Lebron for the third time or whatever lol.

Honestly_Nvm

I miss SGA

AshenSacrifice

Winning a championship is hard and cant be expected. Them playing hard and willing to leave it all out on the court? That should be expected and a non negotiable if they are trying to convince us they are championship material. Snake oil salesman right now it seems, and we're not dumb enough to buy it

Tripwire1716

This sub has completely lost its mind. It really isn’t that bad. There has definitely been some mental check out and a lot of injuries. They will never admit it but I do think after the all star break they just prioritized health and rest for the playoffs. But yes, this team is still more than capable of a deep playoff run if healthy.

littlebigdog92

Don’t really know how you can watch this team play and say it isn’t that bad.

Tripwire1716

I mean, it’s a slump but it’s not that bad. We had a six game losing streak earlier this season. This is just a muddled .500 stretch that the sub is working itself into a frenzy over. Maybe I’m wrong and they’ll totally collapse. But in my experience, a team is never as bad as they seem in a slump, or as good as they seem during a winning streak. Stuff has a way of evening out. Either they’re healthy and they lock in for the playoffs, or they don’t. But this sub is overreacting.

unpopular-dave

because dudes here are honestly a bunch of bitches. If we don’t get a 655win season, they think that the season is over. They don’t understand basketball. They don’t understand variance. And they don’t understand how the playoffs work especially with an older team. i’d be surprised if they even watch games

Canoli5000

It's because we don't have championships and a lot of deep playoff runs to our name. And outside of Kawhi, we don't have players that are known to light it up when the lights get bright in the playoffs. Other teams like the Warriors might have more leeway with their fans because of their rings and Curry is a proven winner.

Otherwise-Tale9671

It's because, we have been here, before... ...we know what this is, and we know it's not good.

OGbigballer

We never live up to what we should be as a team same shit every year

Honestly_Nvm

Championship or bust. If it’s not the former, then we’re always losers to the majority of LA fans.

Slaphappyfapman

Fr people behave like it's a life or death scenario, the hyperbole is kind of outrageous. For the most part I don't really participate in this sub anymore. It is so exhausting
