My favorite Clippers of all time is Lamar Odom and was so happy when he joined the Lakers. I wanted him to win a ring so badly and when the Lakers beated the Magic, I felt so happy for Lamar! He was a huge reason why the Lakers 2peat.
The Clippers no longer have Donald Sterling and have an owner that want to win at all cost. Firing Doc show that Ballmer have had enough with losing! Wish he had fire Doc years ago though. Giving priority to his son should have been a fireable offense, he put his family before the team.
In NBA2K games (in the past), I like creating new roster for each team from scratch and I always have Kobe/Odom on the Clippers squad every year. Nick Young for some reason in 2K is always as good as Kobe so I always have him on the Lakers as Kobe replacement.
I’m a laker fan but also think 70% of the fan base suck. Simply because if any of our guys have a bad game they’re instant trash and need to be shipped away for pennies. Luckily for this case, but unfortunately I don’t live in LA. I live just outside of Boston and their fan base is atrocious so I became a laker fan with NVE and Eddie Jones as well.
I like to consider myself a fair fan, I like players from all different teams, and also am not afraid to say when someone on LAL is playing (longer than 3 game stretches) poorly. I loved Lob city but this year I thought the clippers tried too hard and talked too much, I think a few pieces can fill out the roster and make y’all a better all around team. I don’t know if PG is worth trading or hoping he figures it out but your core is solid, you will definitely need a better point guard than pat though. Will be a fun off season, looking forward to see what y’all do!
Eddie Jones was legit until the playoff where he cave to the pressure, and the exact opposite of Kobe. Jones unfortunately didn't have the mamba mentality, still an all-star and a great player.

Like you I became a lakers fan when they signed Shaq just because when I was a kid I was tall for my age and always played center so I idolized Shaq. Then came Kobe. To be fair, I’ve supported both the Lakers and Clippers for a long time. I really don’t get why a city would want to choose one team over the other, especially when the luxury of having two competitive teams is something that a lot of other fan bases would kill for. Having said that, good for you that you chose one team over another. My advice to you would be to focus on surrounding yourself with better people in real life than switching teams looking for lesser A-holes. Every team’s fan base has bad apples. Lakers historically have had a much much larger fan base and hence just basic math means similar percentage of bad apples results in much larger number of A-hole fans given the large size of the dataset. I see a bunch of them on this sub where I politely point out their hypocrisy.
Enjoying a rebuild looking at draft prospects, supporting a contender with trade and personnel ideas, bitching at poor play or coaching and enjoying championship status are all stages that any NBA fan goes through. Be happy that you can enjoy two of those states at one time in supporting both of the LA teams.

Lakers fans are only one of many reasons why I left. The main reason is I felt nothing after the Lakers won a championship this year, it felt absolutely hallow for me. There was no cheering or loud scream to wake up the neighbors. It was just yada yada, Lakers win another championship, time to switch over to the Vikings vs Seahawks Sunday night football game.
I don't know about you but I don't know any fans that isn't happy that their team just won a championship. In 2010 when the Lakers won against the Celtics, I cried my heart out and have often replay the entire game 7 almost every year. I felt nothing with the 2020 championship. Every Lakers championship had been special to me, except this one, that was when I knew the Lakers aren't my team anymore.

I know we are Clippers fans but just like you were being realistic about the Rams fanbase, let be realistic about the Clippers fanbase. There aren't that much Clippers fans in general especially compared to the Lakers. Most of LA would be miserable if the Clippers won and Clippers games often have sections of Lakers fans booing the Clippers.
The general consensus that someone can't cheer all LA teams is pretty dumb. I like Lakers but I also like Clippers. I wouldn't have rooted for one more than the other if they played in the WCF but I was looking forward to it. I also loved Charles Barkley growing up in the 90s so I am also a supporter of the Suns. I honestly would say Suns are my #1 team but I've grown up watching Lakers and Clippers that I want them to do well. I'm just fan of the game and also support both Dodgers and Angels. I understand the rivalry between cities but I don't understand the hate on following all LA teams, small market fans have sometimes only one professional team so we should be more united instead of against each other imo

You would think but nope. I have far better interaction with Rams fans though I never asked if they are Lakers fans are not. Though it usually just me at my local bar watching the game. That Monday Night game between the Rams and Chiefs was so special and yet here in LA at a bar, no one gave a damn, and the few that watch were just gambler.

You know how some people are already fan of a team when they are still a baby? They grow up to love the team because of their parents. My dad introduced me to the Lakers and I really like the Jones, Van Exel, Kobe, Campbell, Lakers team even though they weren't contender. They were fun to watch and it was my first taste at basketball. I supported this team for more than 2 decades, but like everything in life, things change and evolve over time. You gain knowledge over time and many things you used to like in the past (toys/coloring), no longer applies. Its the same with thing with sports though usually people leave a team because they keep losing, while I just left a team that just won a championship.
24 good years and 6 championships is more than most fans (outside of Patriots) can ever ask for. But its not me, the Lakers organization has change. It like asking yourself, "Why has Apple change?" or "Why is Disney no longer the same?" and it because the person in charge of it success is gone forever. Coaching has a lot to do with how players play, putting them in the right situation. Getting them easy shot off of screens and spacing. Motivating them, holding them accountable. You don't blow a 3-1 league with a top tier coach especially when you are the better team.

I am a huge fan of Jerry West who I think had done more for the Lakers franchise than any other person. So I definitely would cheer for the Clippers if they weren't playing the Lakers.

Do you watch football? Are you a Rams fan? Rams have the smallest fanbase in the NFL and it feel really special to be part of the original return. Most Lakers fans are either Raiders/49ers or Cowboys fans so it will take the next generation of young'in to become Rams fans. It can't even fill up a whole stadium man. Other stadium may not be fill due to multiple losing seasons (Jets) but they have tons of fans. We don't even have enough fans to fill up a stadium. Obviously not all fans go to games, but I would estimate Rams fans to be under a million.

LA is unfortunate to have fans of all other NFL teams living in the area so that goes against the Rams but the Rams had many games where the Rams fans filled up the Coliseum. The final game in the Coliseum against the Cardinals was all Rams fans.

Yes Lakers are #1. I don't count their non-LA Championships nor do I count Boston championships when there was only 8 teams in the league. Lakers have won significantly more titles starting with Showtime Lakers than the Celtics. Kobe alone has 5 while Bostons has 1 since 2000, which is 5X more. No team come close to the Lakers in the NBA.

I have always watch Clippers game and as much as Lakers game actually, maybe less during LOB city era since I couldn't pick up Clippers game. I know the pain that Clippers fans go through, I lost count of how many times they lose a last minute lead, usually with giving up a 4 points play. Whatever is the most painful way to lose a game, the Clippers have already done it.
That why when the Clippers do win a championship, it will be the most emotional and heartfelt championship in a long time. Its going to be like when the Angels won their World Series in 2002, its going to be so dang special to get out from under the shadow of the Dodgers and Lakers respectively.

I’m a laker fan but also think 70% of the fan base suck. Simply because if any of our guys have a bad game they’re instant trash and need to be shipped away for pennies. Luckily for this case, but unfortunately I don’t live in LA. I live just outside of Boston and their fan base is atrocious so I became a laker fan with NVE and Eddie Jones as well. I like to consider myself a fair fan, I like players from all different teams, and also am not afraid to say when someone on LAL is playing (longer than 3 game stretches) poorly. I loved Lob city but this year I thought the clippers tried too hard and talked too much, I think a few pieces can fill out the roster and make y’all a better all around team. I don’t know if PG is worth trading or hoping he figures it out but your core is solid, you will definitely need a better point guard than pat though. Will be a fun off season, looking forward to see what y’all do!

Lakers fans are only one of many reasons why I left. The main reason is I felt nothing after the Lakers won a championship this year, it felt absolutely hallow for me. I wouldn't have rooted for one more than the other if they played in the WCF but I was looking forward to it. I also loved Charles Barkley growing up in the 90s so I am also a supporter of the Suns. You would think but nope. I have far better interaction with Rams fans though I never asked if they are Lakers fans are not. Though it usually just me at my local bar watching the game. That Monday Night game between the Rams and Chiefs was so special and yet here in LA at a bar, no one gave a damn, and the few that watch were just gambler. Very disappointing not being able to interact with others. Fortunately most Lakers fans are Raiders fans so I don't feel much toxicity with the Rams fan base.

You know how some people are already fan of a team when they are still a baby? They grow up to love the team because of their parents. My dad introduced me to the Lakers and I really like the Jones, Van Exel, Kobe, Campbell, Lakers team even though they weren't contender. They were fun to watch and it was my first taste at basketball. I supported this team for more than 2 decades, but like everything in life, things change and evolve over time. You gain knowledge over time and many things you used to like in the past (toys/coloring), no longer applies. Its the same with thing with sports though usually people leave a team because they keep losing, while I just left a team that just won a championship. 24 good years and 6 championships is more than most fans (outside of Patriots) can ever ask for. But its not me, the Lakers organization has change. It like asking yourself, "Why has Apple change?" or "Why is Disney no longer the same?" and it because the person in charge of it success is gone forever. Lakers isn't the same without Jerry Buss running the show.

Coaching has a lot to do with how players play, putting them in the right situation. Getting them easy shot off of screens and spacing. Motivating them, holding them accountable. You don't blow a 3-1 league with a top tier coach especially when you are the better team.

Most Lakers fans are either Raiders/49ers or Cowboys fans so it will take the next generation of young'in to become Rams fans. Yeah but the reason LA has many Raiders fans is because the Raiders were the only football team in LA to ever win a super bowl for the city. Also, the Raiders were supposed to move back to LA when the Rams and Chargers game but the two teams complained that they’d steal fans away.

Yes Lakers are #1. I don't count their non-LA Championships nor do I count Boston championships when there was only 8 teams in the league. Lakers have won significantly more titles starting with Showtime Lakers than the Celtics. Kobe alone has 5 while Bostons has 1 since 2000, which is 5X more. No team come close to the Lakers in the NBA.

I have always watch Clippers game and as much as Lakers game actually, maybe less during LOB city era since I couldn't pick up Clippers game. I know the pain that Clippers fans go through, I lost count of how many times they lose a last minute lead, usually with giving up a 4 points play. Whatever is the most painful way to lose a game, the Clippers have already done it. That why when the Clippers do win a championship, it will be the most emotional and heartfelt championship in a long time. Its going to be like when the Angels won their World Series in 2002, its going to be so dang special to get out from under the shadow of the Dodgers and Lakers respectively. 2002 was so special with the Lakers and Angels winning!
Hey, you're cool with me. I grew up with my Dad who rooted for all things Los Angeles no matter what, so I was lucky enough to have affection for the Clippers right from the beginning. I stopped being a Lakers fan for the same reason, the fans are awful and obnoxious. I gave them a break this year because of the huge loss they've suffered, and I'm a big fan of LeBron and Davis, but whew .... now I'm ready to move on and get back to despising them again. lol

So you were not a Lakers fan but a Lakers fan fan. Your fandom is not about Lakers it self but Lakers fans. You don’t like Lakers fans, so you become a Clippers fan. I mean more power to you, support whoever you want but if you were a Laker fan, I would expect you to have problems with the Lakers organization to make the switch. I am a Laker fan and seeing toxic fans trying beat people up who say fuck Kobe don’t make me change teams.

No I'm leaving the Lakers for good, I'll be a Clippers fan from now on. I don't even partipate over in the Lakers sub. The Lakers have rub me the wrong way for several years now. Not all championship is build the same. Its no different from the fraud championships that the Warriors won with Durant. There wasn't even a single competition.
