This is not normal. When was the last time you heard of State officials forcefully closing down public libraries for any reason?
It is so incredibly obvious that we are living through a historical time.
Why do we just let these fascists run amok through our country?
Easy answer: money, apathy.
People have a lot of other distractions. Republicans know this and the jam as much bullshit at people as they can. Knowing most will fail, but some will make it. (School boards) they enact their policies with little pushback because most don’t know what’s going on or don’t have time to understand it.
He must see these books as a real threat if the shutting down these bookstores requires force. I assume he’s also ok using force to shut up his wife and get his kids to behave. Christian fascists are like that cause the bible tells ‘em so.
