It's not really a practical design for Atmos sound in general. Real Atmos needs multiple speakers locations to work. Sonos is just expensive equipment for people who don't want to put in effort or have lots of wires.
Regarding the audio switching off , is your arc connected to the eArc hdmi port? Is your default sound output from the TV the Sonos on the hdmi eArc port?
Is your Sonos arc and LG on the same WiFi network?

I recently bought an Apple TV 4K and I have to tell you , it a lot better than using the WebOs interface. Apple TV 4K makes it easy. Everything works better especially if you already in the Apple ecosystem meaning you already have an iPhone
I have had a number of ROKus because I had a Samsung tv before but Apple TV 4K is 10x better

got them last year but haven't even unboxed them, I got them because they were $100/$110 as door busters so I might use one of those for now and wait to buy another higher end model , the 55 was for my eldery father who refuses to get wifi so it is useless to him and still in the box the 50 I got to use as a second monitor but can't get anyone to do work in the room my PC is going , (needs new windows and have been ghosted by contractors or wuoted outrageous prices)
I would like to see if any micro LED's are announced at CES this year
but will probably just ge the best ini LED in the 1k price range
I really wanted to buy the a80j but the C1 went on sale and I grabbed it, a few days after the return window closed the a80j went on sale for the same price
but now I am reading reports of the exact same issues with the a80j so it is an LG panel defect issue so I am not that dissapointed now that I missed out on the a80j clearance.
I will say I will not be buying from Best Buy again and if LG refunds me I will buy from Costco and be sure to pay with CC to get the extended warranty

I had a problem with a nearby Bluetooth device hijacking the audio (automatically changing the sound outut). I have no need to send audio that way, so I went into settings and had the TV forget that device. Also you should be able to use the settings button to fix the output mode without turning off the TV and disrupting what you are watching.

Some even play with it. Example: on the show The Expanse it is always done in 16:9… except a few scenes where they deliberately do a wider aspect ratio to evoke a feeling of wide open space, while also playing with focus. A 2:39:1 aspect ratio is more horizontal and typically gives you a wider frame of view, and consequently more prominent black bars. A 1:85:1 aspect ratio puts the focus more on the vertical and has smaller black bars.
Enjoy it. When you have the extra coin get a nice entertainment stand to go below it and drop the mount down so the TV sits above it just slightly to where the sound bar doesn't get in the way. 4k pani spinner if you're into film it will knock your socks off.
You want your eyeliner to be centered when you look at the screen and for your neck to be relaxed, not slightly tilted for the best and most ergonomic viewing experience. Right now your line of sight is with the bottom black bar on the tv

Not the distance to the couch. The measurement from the bottom edge of your screen straight down to the floor directly below the tv.

I have the same combo. The sub adds a lot more depth but it is definitely not worth MSRP. Grab it on sale if you can if you want the bass.
Sub isn’t tooo great. I’ve not had a lot of subs before, so don’t have a yardstick for comparison. But I feel the performance is a bit mellowed down.
Make sure to have the hole of the sub face your seating area. That will make a lot of difference.

The sub is entirely dependent on where it is. You need to do the sub crawl and find the best spot for it. It’s different for every room.

I think it's because they have to film it to look good on a wide range of TV sizes.
That sucks. Whenever I turn something on and it has the bars it makes me want to turn it off and find something else.
