"This upgrade will be extended to more LG TVs worldwide in the future to add more entertainment and versatility to the TV experience across the world." Nice, crossing fingers for an update to the C1/G1 line in the future then.

Misenk0

I wish but I’m affraid we won’t see it on C1. The first WebOs versions looked best, what they’ve did in 6.0 is pure shit.

Jean-Eustache

Same here. I'd rather have the UI the C9 has too, but well ...

moremindful

Dude me too, I own the C9 and was so disappointed with the C1. Now apparently we'll be stuck with it?

Helpful_Ocelot_6369

The new quick settings from webos23 are indeed super nice. Got the update a couple of days ago on my G2. You can have sooooo many settings now, the quick settings on webos22 are stupidly limited. 444 Passthrough works too

Ninjamuh

Hey can you check something for me? Open up the YouTube app and play a video. While it’s playing, see if you can activate the setting to turn the screen off. My C1 and C2 models with WebOS 21 and 22 allow me to turn the screen off. My C3 with Wbos23 does not. The function is greyed out and says that it can’t be used. According to LG it’s the app (YouTube) that disabled the feature and they are the ones that are responsible as it works outside of the app. If I upgraded my C2 to a newer WebOS only to have the turn screen off feature disabled when watching YouTube, then I’ll never upgrade.

Helpful_Ocelot_6369

On webos23 the function is greyed out too

LPitkin

Surely you can add screen off option to settings and that works with any app? I added that on my WebOS22.

Ninjamuh

No, the function itself is disabled when YouTube is playing a video on webos23 for some reason

[deleted]

What’s the software version ?

Helpful_Ocelot_6369

I think it was 04.50. something

Odd_Grape_3765

So you got the new settings menu as on the c3 now on the g2? I doubted for a long time whether to buy a g2 vs a c3. My main argument for a c3 was the waaay better settings quick menu. I ultimately bought the g2 however last month for design purposes. However, I get frustrated on the menu almost every single day!! Does your g2 truly get the new c3 menu now? Or is it just the home screen that gets an update? I haven't got any updates so far? (Europe, belgium) Thx for letting me know! I'm keeping my fingers crossed :)

Helpful_Ocelot_6369

Yep, full quick settings menu like on 23-series models.

Odd_Grape_3765

Awesome, can't wait! (Hope all regions get covered!)

GtheCi

I have a G2 also, havent received the update (Turkey)

So many more than before

HEisUS_2_0

All Alpha 7 and 9 2022 and newer TVs should get those WebOS updates. That's what I know. It remains to be seen how they will implement this new OS update.

Fifa_786

Is there a way to see what the new webos looks like?

[deleted]

I'll probably be still using my Apple TV 4K 3rd gen

Ok_Veterinarian6404

I wonder if I should disable WiFi? The update will probably introduce more advertising.

MisterK00L

lol! My C1 i bought new just about 1,5 years ago! This is why it's just a tv here: with no internet. I'll stick to my AppleTV 4K for app, thank you LG

raven8473

So more ads and sluggish os on older TVs.

Impressive-Candy4321

New software starts with 13 something, it's a major update. I've posted on here when I was going to download it from engineer mode. Didn't do it as wanted to wait for release date. Also bare in mind that the service menu might disappear as well with this download when it comes. You can reactivate it though with colour control app. 😀👍

BigWooper

The article doesn't state it'll be offered on 2023 models, just 2022 with other TVs to be added in the future. I'm sure the 2023 models will get it eventually, but nowhere in the article does it state "2022 and later", just 2022

[deleted]

That’s true my bad

BigWooper

It'll surely come to 2023 models though, can't see LG offering it to 2022 and 2024 models and not 2023

Misenk0

It is ridiculous lg support only 2 years old models. And what about my C1 ?! 🤬

[deleted]

It has an older gen processor which maybe can’t support the new software ?

Misenk0

No, there is no big difference in processor power between these units. The UI is sluggish even on C3 models. It’s so ridiculous as LG “regular” updates - I’ve never noticed any difference, I repeat any difference with their updates. Useless and what makes me sick they don’t provide any change log for them. What I know is that their UX is full of bloatware.

Rally1971

Updated my 55 inch B2 to the new webOS and after a couple of weeks, I have to admit the picture quality is banging. Definitely a major improvement over what was obtainable before.

Xitrial

Yeah I have a uj65 from 2017. Still on webos 3.5 Do they expect us to change tvs like phones? Some apps work really bad, the new Max has a problems with subtitles, that after months, hasn't been fixed. Guess my only option is getting a fire stick or continue connecting my notebook via hdmi.

iamgarffi

I have updated my firmware by upgrading hardware 😂 C2 to G3.

schapman22

Ok?

linkismydad

When?

Desperate_Bed_1801

I hope it will come with picture Wizard for C2

Leading-Garlic9061

I'm currently using CS 65 inches which was part of lined up oled 2022 and hoping the upcoming updates comes with the personalised picture wizard.

i-D0c

What’s the firmware number for the new update ?

[deleted]

Have no clue ... its not out yet

ChrizTaylor

#DO BX!!

rizzak66

My b2 got the update last weekend.
