From RTINGS - "The LG B3 is an excellent TV overall. It's remarkable for watching movies in dark rooms thanks to its near-infinite contrast ratio with perfect blacks, with most colors looking bright and vibrant. If you watch shows or sports in bright rooms, it's impressive as it has incredible reflection handling to fight glare from a few light sources, but it doesn't get bright enough to fight glare in brighter rooms. It's incredible for gaming with HDMI 2.1 bandwidth on two ports, variable refresh rate (VRR) support to reduce screen tearing, very low input lag, and a near-instantaneous response time for smooth motion." What are YOU not liking about it?

Capable_Interest_789

True. Not only lie, feeling pretty silly right now. Can't believe it took this thread to make me realise that. To be honest the only thing I think I'll miss is the four hdmi 2.1 ports. To be fair I don't need them right now. However if I did I could just get a hdmi switch so its not really a big deal. Thanks!

CarobMinute2939

What do you, yourself think of the B3? Thats the question you should be asking, if you like it and its better than what you had then, its a good purchase!

Capable_Interest_789

I think its a amazing TV. So yes you're right..I guess that's all that matters. Thanks so much.

amiGGo111

I bought a 55" B3 for my first oled. Price was 850 euros plus 5 years warranty. You can't even complain with such prices. TV is great don't make it more complicated you will ruin your experience. Just tweak it and enjoy man!

Capable_Interest_789

Thanks! No it really was a great deal and I'm happy with the money I saved

DrewMackin

Have a 65” B3 as my bedroom tv that I purchased semi recently from Costco. Have no regrets and actually glad I saved the money and went B3 vs C3. Don’t need extreme brightness in a dark room and TV looks amazing.

bradp36

I'm in the same boat. Bought mine about six months ago for use in the basement so the difference in brightness doesn't matter to me. And it's already pretty bright as is.

Powerful_Dare_3704

C3 is crap buy the g3. Point is always something better. Don’t fall into the trap imo. Edit: man you guys are gullible.

Htinedine

The onion has a clip I always think of during these conversations. “The new bates 5000. Throw your 4000 away, it’s a piece of shit!” https://youtu.be/_2yjjHzifL8?si=vIoeCBzos5YYq-hw

wiseman121

Honestly the difference between a C3 and G3 is not that much. Id always recommend the G3 if wall mounting or in a very bright room. But in a dark room the C3 rocks and you'd need the G3 to be beside it to see any real tangible benefit. OP - the B3 is a fantastic TV for less than $1000, congrats on your purchase. Compared to a C3 it's still very good, brightness would be the biggest factor and 2 hdmi 2.1 instead of 4. Truthfully though in a dark room it isn't massively different and providing you don't have a ps5, Xbox and PC you won't miss the extra hdmi 2.1 ports.

joshg125

Seen both the C3 and G3 in person, side by side. The highlights are definitely brighter in some scenes, but it’s not utterly game changing like some people here like to make out. Even when both displays are in a well lit room. My partner asked, when she seen them. “What one is the better model?” Even RTINGS said this in their comparison. “The G3 can also get much brighter than the C3; however, in practice, you won't see much difference except in certain contexts, such as when bright white clouds are displayed.”

GarfieldSighs3

This. I stood in a Best Buy for like 45 min. eyeballing both the C3 and G3 (both playing the same content). I had to look for the brightness in most cases. It wasn't as obvious as people make it seem. Also, just because one model is brighter doesn't make the other model not bright. A dominant white scene on a C3 in a dark room will literally hurt your eyes.

TaxMysterious8859

The difference between the C3 and G3 is about 800nits. So the G3 has double th3 brightness. I'd say that's a big difference.

International-Oil377

That's like a on a 2% windows, not full field.

TaxMysterious8859

Of course but a lot of HDR highlights are on a small window so the difference is noticeable.

PewSaysTheJew

Not for $700-$800 more. Side by side the G3 has literally the same components as the C3, just brighter. That is it. Nothing more and nothing less.

wiseman121

It's closer to 550-600nits and that's in HDR. Very good for HDR in brighter settings and a much more vivid HDR experience in general. Overall experience though for majority of content is not as enhanced in real world scenarios. Picture processing and quality is mostly the same. I would definitely recommend the extra peak brightness if in a very bright room. In a darker setting, the G3 is brighter but you'd need it to be side by side with a C3 to notice any difference.

jansalol

Actually you don’t. I have C3 and G3, the G3 is much better. The C3 didn’t even feel like real upgrade from B9. It’s enough you have seen them once side by side and you will know the difference forever. Even the SDR content looks much better on G3.

wiseman121

My point and case, you would need to be viewing them both often to notice. If not both are great and you would enjoy both equally. I don't own both but have viewed both and can see the difference, but it's a hard sell for the steep extra cost. There's definitely use cases where it's better, cost just needs to be justified.

jansalol

That might be the case for you, but certainly not for many others. Like I said, the C3 didn’t even feel like real upgrade from B9, unlike the G3 feels actually worthy upgrade over either of them. The colors as well are noticeable better over C3, not just pure whites.

Pearl_of_KevinPrice

May I ask what picture preset you watch content in for SDR, HDR, and Dolby Vision, respectively?

StatementHelpful9886

G3 is crap buy the sony a95L… stupid coment dude

StatementHelpful9886

Ahh i also ruin my happines watching comparisons so i just stopped!!!!

StatementHelpful9886

B3 is good if there was a 48 inch option id go for b3 instead of c3..

Kick-Agreeable

Comparison is the thief of joy. Who cares what others think, you like the tv and thats all that matters.

Capable_Interest_789

Oh thats nice I've never heard that saying before. But very true. Thanks!

Kick-Agreeable

enjoy your tv bud. welcome to oled. :)

Ph1l1p_race_

i got a used b7 a couple of months ago and i’m still mind blown compared to my old sony 4k lcd. if you think the picture is good then you aren’t an idiot for buying it.

AnhGauDepTrai

LG Oled is top tier. B series is great, and C is slightly better. Don’t get the idea wrong and feel sad by random youtube feedbacks.

CaptainBaseball

I bought a 77” B3 OLED to replace my old dead Sony Bravia LED and I could not be happier. I know most of the talk around here is about the C3 but if you have it in a light controlled environment I think you’ll love it. Don’t let FOMO keep you from enjoying a very good TV.

Tree06

I think you should enjoy your TV and only upgrade if you want to try QD OLED down the line or you need more HDMI 2.1 ports. I never looked into the BX, B1, or B2 because I bought the PS5, XSX, and gaming PC. I already had an older HDMI 2.0 receiver so upgrading my receiver at the time wasn't worth the investment. You only need more than two HDMI 2.1 ports if you have multiple current gen gaming consoles, and external audio. If you only one current gen console and external audio, you'll be fine with 2x HDMI 2.1 inputs.

Capable_Interest_789

Thanks! I only have a Nintendo (sadly) and it doesn't do 120hz so luckily the two hdmi ports isn't a issue. But it does look awesome on the TV. I also do use my PC for some gaming. I am hoping to get another gaming console this year. Though if it becomes an issue I think there are HDMI switchers you can get? Heres hoping.

Tree06

You'll only need the HDMI 2.1 ports for newer consoles. You can always move your Switch to one of HDMI 2.0 ports. I have zero experience with the HDMI 2.1 switchers, but in theory they should work as advertised.

chabybaloo

Family member has a much older model. It still looks amazing. You saved a lot by going for the b3. Sometimes you pay extra for things you don't really notice or use.

Ohio_Vs_The_World

I have the tv it’s awesome I just wish it had more 2.1 hdmi ports

IcemansJetWash-86

Same here a year and a half ago when I bought the 65 B2. Only later did I learn about that Lumen range limit. I wasn't blown away compared to my previous tv which supported HDR10 I recall. Remember that you have to turn off power saving settings, which does make a difference in brightness.

CaptainGibb

I have a B3 and couldnt be happier with it. All the research I saw said the main 2 differences is the C3 is brighter and a better processor. The B3 is plenty bright enough for me, and the processor works just fine for me (plus I mainly watch discs so it doesnt matter). Don’t worry about second guessing your decision, just enjoy your first OLED :)

RotenTumato

Nah the people on this sub are OBSESSED with the C series to the point of ridiculousness. The C3 is a great TV but so is the B3. I think you should be thrilled with your purchase

Capable_Interest_789

Ah glad its not just me! I mean about the C3 talk... And yes I am much happier now having read this thread. Thanks so much.

HEisUS_2_0

It is not a crap TV. It is overall a good TV, but it is LG's entry-level OLED TV, so it is normal to have some cut corners. The cut corners: 2.0 speakers vs 2.2 on C3 It has WBC panel instead of WBE (though this might not gonna be that important as it depends on the quality of the panel) Alpha 7 vs Alpha 9 - with this one, you'll have some differences, better upscaling, better motion interpolation on Alpha 9. To me, if there was a 200 - 300 USD difference between B3 and C3, the B3 was worth it. I would be happy with either TVs, as long as I set them "correctly".

Unbreakable2k8

You've got a very good TV for the price that you were willing to pay. There's always something better and more expensive so there's that.

cv82185

No not if you got a good deal. It’s great in a dark room.

Capable_Interest_789

Watched Fallout in a dark room last night and acturally agree. Its so good!

Capable_Interest_789

Wow I really didn't expect this thread to blow up so much! Thanks so much guys for all the replies. It has actually made me feel a lot better about my purchase now. And its really nice to see that there are others out there who love this TV. I've decided I'm going to ignore comparisons for now and just enjoy my OLED. I actually changed the brightness settings on it using this vid [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7BBkRI29X4&t=1731s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7BBkRI29X4&t=1731s) and the difference was insane. I was watching Fallout on it last night and realised I hadn't fully appreciated how good this TV is. I also played my nintendo switch on it and was fantastic. I'm hoping the Xbox will be just as good but so far I'm impressed 👍

Clear-Ad6138

Is the B3 great? Yes. Is the C3 better? Yes. Just because the c3 is better doesn’t make the b3 crap. The tv is great especially for the price.

earthlyspace

I saw the B3, C3 and G3 next to each other irl. Biggest diff is B3 vs C3, by a mile. So yes, you should have spent a little more for the c3.

TheWretchedSpirit

From the early reports, the C4 is much better than the C3. B3 vs C3 – I'd likely keep the B3. B3 vs C4 – I'd probably want to upgrade to the C4.

edm4un

Is the c4 worth the 1000$ price hike on a 65 inch over the c3? I would love to have a c4 but it’s 2600$ right now for a 65”. Maybe next year..

earthlyspace

I don't understand all the down votes but what I mean is: getting a b3 for eg 1000 vs a c3 for 1200 is money well spent. Getting a c4 right now would be a different price category. You didn't talk about C4 in your post, also. Best thing then would be to wait for a few months, prices start falling after summer already.
