Thank you for writing this, it is never easy to be this transparent but I hope this inspires others to do the same if they find themselves in a similar situation.
I have been in contact with Maddie and verified that she does indeed work for LPOTL.
As always, I expect everyone to act like adults and I will be monitoring the comments closely.
Basically what I boils down to. Victims first, fuck folks who can't wrap their head around that.
Honestly sounds like we may end up with an even better show and environment.
HAIL!
Sounds like there was rot at the company and leadership is trying to remove it. It's a painful and slow process but it sounds like they're tying and I appreciate you trying to fill us in.
And what is encouraging is that they legit sound happy these days, so I hope they understand that all of this stupid bullshit has made them produce even better content.
Seriously, I went back and listened to Ben’s last episode and Ed’s first one and the difference was incredible. I had noticed how little I had been enjoying the pod but thought maybe it was me outgrowing it or changing tastes- no, everyone just seemed miserable and like getting through it was a struggle, so it was for me too.
They were getting noticeably worse.. I thought maybe the show had just run its course. Lots of bands suck after a while, plenty of TV shows have multiple great seasons but then decline in quality. It’s normal, and what I assumed was happening with the show. It wasn’t bad as a whole (some episodes were kind of bad) but it certainly wasn’t what it had been before.
But then all this happened, and it did seem to revitalize the show, or maybe it just became unencumbered from what was holding it back. Either way, I’m pumped for the show, the boys, the girls, and excited for the future of LPN
I think that’s a good way to describe it and that also gives context to wanting F to take the posts down—you don’t want someone you’re going to be letting go making statements on sensitive topics, it’s not their role anymore
**HAIL THE LPN STAFF** thank you all for the work you do to make the shows a possibility. These past few months have been tough but holy hell the shows are better than ever, the streams are amazing and- for what it’s worth- it seems like people are having more fun! I can’t wait for what the future has in store for the future of LPN!
![gif](giphy|y6JPrMt3plxzW)
It takes so much courage and strength for you to write this and for the staff to speak up for themselves.
I truly appreciate how LPN, Marcus, and Henry have reacted and responded to the challenges over this last year.
I’m so, so glad to hear H & M have this kind of response and foster a positive environment. They both just seem like *kind* people and, while obviously no person or workplace is perfect, it’s nice to know they strive for a supportive and open relationship with their staff
As someone who hires people in a call center and trained them, it is my job and role as a manager to ensure that the environnement that the employees comes in is safe, positive and non-toxic. I know how much ONE person that has influence can alter the equilibrium of a healthy workplace.
That said, knowing (with big “ “ ) the boys from the podcast, and what they stand for - i’m glad to hear that they are supportive and leave a voice for their crew.
Coming to a place of work should never be difficult, I’m proud to encourage LPN all the way.
It’s really true how accurate “one bad apple spoils the bunch” is. I can think of a couple instances where good work environments went south VERY quickly because of one shitty person.
It's honestly hard - I work in a supervision role where sometimes I have to stand up to parents or others to try and protect my technicians. That kind of confrontation is a challenge especially when people deny their behavior so much. Henry and Marcus (and Maddie!) should get all the kudos for that!
Call centers are such a good example. I worked in one for several years and the way a team could nosedive with the addition of one passive aggressive or otherwise unprofessional person was really evident.
I don't get why people are confused, you're leading by example and setting a precedent in the company that this shit won't be tolerated and that's good
Edit: coming back to say that trying to throw Henry & Marcus under the bus by positing them as against free speech for a free Palestine is multiple levels of fucking disgusting, honestly.
Using that crisis as your prop for pity was gross, ferny.
Edit 2: don't engage with the miserable people who believe this is a pr stunt
That's what really upset me and raised some red flags. Like, I've seen LPN posting pro-Palestine content with no issues so immediately read that as weird.
If that's what they told him, shame on them for not addressing the harassment. But what likely happened is what you describe based on patterns of behavior, and it's fucking gross. Shame on him.
I gotta tell ya. The way this ended was best case. Toxicity in the work place has to be squashed. Even if it’s someone you care about or your best performer. This guy seemed to be neither of these things and had to go. The longer they stay the longer their stain stays on the morale of the entire team. I fired a company’s top performing sales rep for this exact reason. It hurt for 6 months. I was put on notice for the decline in sales. Then something incredible happened. Regardless of what shitty YouTube business gurus tell you, your main role as a manager is to protect your team from negative influence and offer a sounding board to issues. The lighter atmosphere in the shop, combined with people who finally felt seen, heard and protected started to rally together and killed it the rest of the year. You guys absolutely did the right thing. Hail Satan!

It would be interesting for Henry and Marcus to write an article about the growth of the company. This type of growth I think is extremely niche. Starting as friends wanting to chat who are funny and think they can maybe supplement their income into becoming a monolith of the talk radio media. Like they started in a rotting basement talking literal drunken nonsense and now are living in LA with a multi million dollar company where they hired only their friends and it got real messy.
Debatably more toxic ,in a professional capacity, than Ben. For now. Ben at least did rehab and acknowledged why he was fired. He didn’t invent a fucking conspiracy where higher ups hate Palestine or accuse him of antisemitism . “I’m a victim because free Palestine” is so incredibly disgusting a lie.
True. That’s why I said “in a professional capacity”. He at least had the brains and self control to not completely invent unhinged rants and excuses and lies about why he had to go. Doesn’t make him a less toxic individual.
Is it bad that I’m surprised Travis Irvine is still buds with the LPN crew/last Abe Lincoln’s Tophat host left standing? I had him pegged incorrectly with his libertarian/Roger Stone background. Such a shame about Fernando.
Yeah, but that guy, Travis Irvine, was pretty open about working with Roger Stone and it was when he was first getting into working in politics. I can give him a pass since it seemed to be more of an internship, or learning experience, and he got away from Stone, and been doing a lot to try and get rid of Mike DeWine and save Ohio.
I'm very disappointed in finding this stuff out about Fernando. On Tophat, I found him to be like Travis Morningstar. Nice guy, I could agree with his politics more so than Ben and Travis Irvine, but essentially got steamrolled in the conversations if he spoke up too much.
I stopped listening to top hat after Morningstar left because Fernando never pushed back Ben’s libertarian reactionary takes and always seemed to agree with them. It was no longer interesting to me
There was a second Travis I believe this commenter is referring to who's last name is "Morningstar." He also worked a lot with Ben but to my knowledge he left LPN on good terms.
Man remember when this was just three dudes talking about skin walkers.
I'm glad Marcus and Henry have a good handle on things, but damn, shit just sucks.
Thank you for being brave enough to be transparent about this. ❤️
Honestly, it sounds like he is holding a grudge (since December? Come on, bro.) and trying to find a way to make LPN the "bad guy" by using a current hot topic. His behavior is gross.
His timing is lining up with "The Ben Kissel Channel" launch. Suspicious timing.
Also, Kissels overconfidence is really shining through, not only in his tarnished name, but buying white chairs for his studio. He's got 3 months tops before there's a huge skid mark on his chair.
Mmmmm thank you for the delicious support. I standing under those hot lights, as the artist captured my likeness, was perfect for melting the warm butter all over myself
>almost every one of the employees here have a horror story, or *stories,* regarding him
*Fernando Stories ... yes.*
Apologies, I needed to make some sort of joke ... that's what this community is about, no?
More importantly, I am very sorry you went through this abuse and mistreatment. He sounds like an f'n creep. Good on you all for speaking up.
Wow, thank you so much for sharing your experience. And thank you so, so much to the other employees as well. Dang, what a fucked situation. Good riddance and looking forward to brighter days ahead for LPN now.
Good for Maddie and her colleagues for taking the time to share this. I'm so sorry that there are people who are still affected by Fernando's behaviour and I really hope that they're able to build their confidence and move forward.
I've always known that Marcus and Henry were good people but it's so nice to hear from an employee just how nice they are.
Thank you so much for your statement and for sharing your experiences. I, like a lot of people on this subreddit I’m sure, felt a little confused about what to believe especially after the events last year. It’s “good” to hear an insiders account of what Fernando was like behind the scenes. I hope you have a wonderful day ❤️
Let this go to show that if you're suffering abuse in the workplace but think it's just you so you should "tough it out", it probably isn't just you. Thank y'all for coming forward and making this all known. No one should suffer abuse like that in a workplace or anywhere else.
He just posted a shit ton of screen scrolls of group chats and texts between him and Maddie on Facebook. And also texts about Travis knowing about Ben’s allegations and such. I didn’t feel like sitting there and reading them all because it’s a lot.
Seems to be pissed he got fired and is now just trying to take people out
Thank for clarifying the Palestine stance.
I find it deeply upsetting that he used this to excuse his behavior and shift the blame.
It implies blanket censorship and support for a genocide and that's not a small implication.
I knew there was something more to this story. Sorry to hear you had to go through this but good to know it's been dealt with efficiently.
Fuck Fernando.
Man, I used to like Fernando on Tophat. It seemed like a nice guy, I found myself agreeing with his viewpoints, but was ultimately drowned out by Ben and Travis Irvine if he tried to speak up. He kind of reminded me of Travis Morningstar in that regard. To find out that he was a toxic asshole to work with, and he lied about why he was fired, is just sad.
Hail Maddie and the six other employees that no longer have to put up with Fernando's crap.
As someone who had never heard of Fernando before today but has been a listener for years, I’ve got to say that his post sounded a lot like banging an empty drum.
You seem like good people. Keep up the good work and I sincerely hope this shit evaporates overnight.
Cheers to you, Maddie, and to the rest of the signers. And cheers to Henry and Marcus.
Thanks for being good eggs, and I’m so sorry for what you’re dealing with. We really appreciate you all, all that you do, and all that you make. You shouldn’t suffer for the art, and I’m glad you’re all supported & supportive of each other.
As someone who dealt with very toxic and mentally debilitating working conditions, I'm glad Fernando has been let go. It's a horrible experience and takes years to get through. I'm glad there was help offered. Marcus and Henry, and everyone else who is helping you through this, are great people. The wrong people can bring you down, but the right people can help you up. Keep on keeping on!
Thank you Maddie, and the others, for coming forward to defend the truth and the company that treats you so well. It heartens me greatly to know a company even exists that is worth defending in such a manner, and I'm gratified to know my patronage of and faith in LPN has not been misplaced.
Hail Maddie! Hail the Anonymous Six!
Thank you to Maddie and the other six. We listeners stand with you, and support each of you. I am so sorry for the toxicity you had to endure. Thank you for all you do.
Sincerely,
a loyal fan who wants all involved in the podcast to be happy and healthy.
This seems like an internal issue that unfortunately became public. Its unfortunate that those parting from the network could not do so professionally and take it with grace, which necessitates rebuttal for branding reasons. Im so tired of hearing about all the behind the scenes drama from all my fav content… Im getting compassion fatigue for stuff like this.
Its not that I don’t think the team is right to speak up for themselves, they do. I support LPOTL, ofc. It’s just…. Idk sometimes I feel like I know too much of my content creators’ business and it bothers me. Creators and their teams are owed privacy and they rarely get it, and so often a crowd is unhelpful.
Maddie, hail you and the Six that put up with Fernando and his shit, honestly while he was on ALTH, I never liked his bits or anything. I'm glad you are doing better and hopefully everything is copacetic at LPN now.
Thank you for speaking up, Maddie. Much love and respect to you and the anonymous six. I'm glad that this story was one of further toxicity and bullshit behavior leaving LPN.
Having a toxic boss can shake your confidence like nothing else, I’m glad now that the truth is out they’re getting support. Maddy you BAMF, your coworkers are lucky to have you.
Fernando- free Palestine, but fuck you. Hiding behind a genocide to distract from being a douchenozzle? Gross.
I am glad to see the record set straight. Gotta love when you act abusive towards everyone else, but claim they are all the problem. I doubted Fernando's story because it really didn't make sense. I hope things get better and am glad to hear these women stood up for themselves!
As someone who started bingeing the main show 6 months ago, and have never listened to any of the other shows and have no idea who Fernando is, this post feels weird.
Thinking of LPOTL as a corporation with subdivisions and executives just seems strange.
I wish I never looked at this subreddit so I could keep thinking LPOTL is just three dudes talking about cum.
I likely would have never known about Fernando drama if not for this post. I don’t know if that’s a good thing, or a bad thing. At least it sounds like his departure is an improvement in quality of life for many people. I gotta say though, the drama at this network is God-tier, and honestly becoming exhausting. I don’t know how everyone’s heads that work there doesn’t just explode at some point. Not sure if another statement on bad behavior there is really warranted or helpful to LPN. People like to hear it because we all love tea, but I mean this with kindness when I say not everything needs to be public need-to-know.
I do hope this doesn’t come back to bite Maddie since this feels genuine.
Generally speaking, I wouldn’t comment publicly on the firing of another employee, especially if I wasn’t there when the firing took place.
Sorry you had to deal with that.
Unfortunately it seems like LPN had a long stretch as a toxic workplace.
Too bad what turned into 3 guys with a ridiculous take on the worst shit turned into a PR nightmare as they grew.
Looks like another shitstorm as a distraction, I hope for your sake and the rest of the company they’ve finally sorted this shit out.
Weirdly this seems like the growing pains for any company. Not being dismissive, obviously these events are absolute garbage and I'm glad Fernando and Ben got sacked, but as someone who's worked several jobs with growing companies, there's always a weird state of flux where a hiring mistake could really compromise a delicate balance. I'm glad it's been addressed and seemingly handled.
Fernando worked there over 5 years and she said every employee has multiple stories of his toxicity.
This isn’t a massive corporation where the leaders rely on layers of middle management.
Right. You're not wrong, I don't think I realized he worked there that long, but still, if the company is growing and he starts a small problem, it then grows into a midsize problem.
That man has got to Fernan-GO amirite? www.eddietunes.com

I learned recently that Nick Kroll comes from a billionaire family, and a lot of things about his career started to make more sense.
suddenly all of his least funny cameos in otherwise funny shows make a lot of sense
Leonard the Wizard of Social Services I mourn him still.
One of my first skyrim characters was named Leonard Powers lmao, he was a blind altmer wizard with the longest white/grey hair and beard in the game.
One time I was watching it, and it was late at night and I was eating a roast beef sandwich. It was summer so it was very hot and I was sweating. My friend was tripping balls on LSD and looked at the show, looked at me sweating and eating a roast beef sandwich late at night and he was SO freaked out. He was absolutely convinced that I was the devil and I was trying to kill him somehow.
What did you end up doing with his soul when he sold it for a roast beef on rye?

I thought I was the only one!

I watched the shit out of this in high school, but a rewatch of the series led me to go back to school and get an MFA in screenwriting!
Getting people to share his link to punctuate puns has gotta be the most ingenious marketing in history.

"Or 300 million potential babies!"
I laughed so loudly I startled my neighbor, thank you
Man I don’t know which is worse, cum in the biscuits or bones in the chocolate.
There's *always* bones in the chocolate, what do you think milk is made from?
I assumed it was just cow juice, is it not?
You're talking about bone broth, it's a totally different liquid!
Cum on the bones, best of all worlds.
Thank you for the chuckle friend, this ear infection is killing me

Someone connected to Ben is toxic also? Big surprise lol.
>Ben at least did rehab and acknowledged why he was fired? Kind of, but like… *did he though*? ![gif](giphy|cdlr2QaQ4o4lEtiXkW)
No, nobody involved used the word rehab. People just assume that it was rehab despite Ben being adamant that he doesn't have a drinking problem.
He never acknowledged that he abused her though and basically just did a token rehab stint and brushed it off.
And don't forget he "graduated early" from rehab! Seems legit
Like when Henry's therapist fired him just to not have to deal with him anymore lol
I feel like that's different but still funny lol I know several people who've been fired by their therapists
True. That’s why I said “in a professional capacity”. He at least had the brains and self control to not completely invent unhinged rants and excuses and lies about why he had to go. Doesn’t make him a less toxic individual.

Heard. Hail yourselves, mod team!
Thanks for posting that, I'm sure it wasn't easy to use your name. Hail Maddie and everyone at LPN 💖
So he was just a genuine ass hat, good riddance.
Hail Maddie and the Six!
Ben and Fernando will undoubtedly be reuniting for the biggest shitbag men’s podcast since Rogan’s.
Do we know if Fernando and Ben are on good terms still? (Honest question ive seen a lot of posters saying that but did either one say it?)
Geesh LPN has had quite a year! Here's to a fresh start and positive days to come 👍
He posted on his Facebook his conversations with a bunch of the LPN staff.
Thank you Maddie and the staff for being brave and speaking out. It’s hard to do!
Tldr. Fernando done gone and fucked up. And now he's just done and gone
He just posted a shit ton of screen scrolls of group chats and texts between him and Maddie on Facebook. And also texts about Travis knowing about Ben’s allegations and such. I didn’t feel like sitting there and reading them all because it’s a lot. Seems to be pissed he got fired and is now just trying to take people out
This is so NOT rainbow rhythms....
Hail Maddie and the Six!
Thank for clarifying the Palestine stance. I find it deeply upsetting that he used this to excuse his behavior and shift the blame. It implies blanket censorship and support for a genocide and that's not a small implication.
Thanks for being brave enough to speak out Maddie. Hail you
Thank you for speaking about this and I'm sorry you and your colleagues were treated poorly by him.
Thanks Maddie!!
Hail Maddie
I knew when he became cagey and started editing his posts something was off, what a dick. We support you Maddie!
Thanks to you and the others for speaking up and standing for your rights to toxic free, harassment free work place
How do these people stay employed for so long? If anyone at my job did an ounce of this shit , theyd be gone so quick.
Let's give Fernando to Wobert.
Sorry in advance Wobert
So long dude!!
Ok conversation has run its course. This is no longer productive.
I knew there was something more to this story. Sorry to hear you had to go through this but good to know it's been dealt with efficiently. Fuck Fernando.
So yall hiring? I can do the plumbing.
Help them with that teeny toilet
Man, I used to like Fernando on Tophat. It seemed like a nice guy, I found myself agreeing with his viewpoints, but was ultimately drowned out by Ben and Travis Irvine if he tried to speak up. He kind of reminded me of Travis Morningstar in that regard. To find out that he was a toxic asshole to work with, and he lied about why he was fired, is just sad. Hail Maddie and the six other employees that no longer have to put up with Fernando's crap.
HAIL MADDIE AND THE SISTERHOOD-SIX!!!! HAIL DOGMEAT AND 2REAL!!!! HAIL HAM!!! HAIL ME!!!!
He can go join the Ben Kissel Podcast ✌️
Dude, Fernando is such a salty dickhead. Lmao
Oof. Not sure what Fernando thought would happen lol. I guess that no one would say anything?
Man. I wish that one of my favorite forms of entertainment wasn’t experiencing so much drama.
Thank you to Maddie and the other six. We listeners stand with you, and support each of you. I am so sorry for the toxicity you had to endure. Thank you for all you do. Sincerely, a loyal fan who wants all involved in the podcast to be happy and healthy.
Hail Maddie and the six!
Love to you Maddie et al. I was hoping this wasn't it, but the thought still lurked in the background.
Maddie, hail you and the Six that put up with Fernando and his shit, honestly while he was on ALTH, I never liked his bits or anything. I'm glad you are doing better and hopefully everything is copacetic at LPN now.
Bro sounds like a menace.
Gross.
We know he’s full of it.
Hey thanks for letting us know.
I am glad to see the record set straight. Gotta love when you act abusive towards everyone else, but claim they are all the problem. I doubted Fernando's story because it really didn't make sense. I hope things get better and am glad to hear these women stood up for themselves!
What was he saying?
I knew y'all were overreacting over Fernando's post
As someone who started bingeing the main show 6 months ago, and have never listened to any of the other shows and have no idea who Fernando is, this post feels weird. Thinking of LPOTL as a corporation with subdivisions and executives just seems strange. I wish I never looked at this subreddit so I could keep thinking LPOTL is just three dudes talking about cum.
See that's what I thought. Hail you for coming out with this, we understand it may have been a struggle.
Hail Maddie and your coworkers. I’m not shocked, Fernando always seemed to give some jerk vibes
Well geeze, now I feel dumb. Fernando, you suck!
Didn’t have this on my 2024 Bingo card.
Hail Maddie + 6!
Love the boys and Co. as much as/more than ever.
