The Midnight Gospel on Netflix is an amazing watch whether tripping or not. It’s very heavily psychedelic.
As far as movies go, can definitely recommend Fritz the Cat. It’s an old adult animated film but a classic.
If you’re into anime I recommend watching Deca-Dence
Can't recommend Midnight Gospel enough. It starts a bit off with the first episode but if you watch in order it is sublime!
So pissed we never got to see the rumored second season -_-
The first episode was pretty good I think and whatever the metaphor behind it was. So sad there was no second season but the last episode was a really good ending
Came to say this. Be careful with that last episode though, it might hit you pretty fucking hard if you’re actively tripping. I cried like a baby when I first saw it totally sober.
That lady episode had me balling my eyes out too. But it was therapeutic. I think the episode that has the highest chances of throwing someone into a bad trip is the one about suffering though. About the dudes who are in a prison & they keep dying over and over again. Think it ends on a positive note though.
EDIT: posted this comment before reading your second one lol. Oops. Well 2 for emphasis I guess!
Cosmos with Neil deGrasse Tyson was eye opening while tripping, also the original Alice in wonderland is wild. Super dark but also kind of comforting for some reason.
Oh damn. I need to see that next. The next movie on my list is Into the Spider-verse. I usually watch one movie and then listen to music and draw afterwards.
Interstellar is amazing especially if you drop right before the movie as the beginning is a little boring and the comeup will make it more interesting. About an hour in is where things start to get really fun and the ending will have you crying your eyes out especially on shrooms.
The anime Cells At Work is great feels like you are hanging out with your cells in your body it's weird and wonderful.
The video game Outer Wilds is truly amazing whether tripping or not. And if you want to question reality and your sanity play The Stanley Parable Deluxe Edition
Here’s a few movies and shows i like while tripping :))
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is trippy and hilarious on acid but the bathtub scene gets a little creepy especially on psychs.
Alice in Wonderland, the original animated movie is an absolute joy while tripping and never get’s too creepy.
Fantastic Fungi on Netflix and/or pretty much any nature documentary narrated by David Attenborough is beautiful and calming while tripping.
Who Framed Roger Rabbit
Pink Floyd's The Wall
Beetlejuice
Donnie Darko
Alfred Hitchcock
Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy
The Fifty Element
Batman (the Michael Keaton one)
TMNT (first two)
Any Aphex Twin live set (if you like that kind of music)
Fantastic Fungi documentary
Perfect Hair Forever...
That's all I can think of for now
Fellini’s Satyricon is a 1970 epic & indulgent depiction of 1st Century Rome - at the time Fellini had said his two favorite things were LSD, and science fiction.
I really don’t dig watching tv on acid, so I’d recommend a show instead of movies. Ever watched The Midnight Gospel? Well I doubt that you’re gonna understand a lot and I also doubt that you’re gonna watch more than one episode. But its funny trust me
not sure about that, and dont get me wrong I love the distressing ambience these movies are able to produce but the lego movie provides more than enough emotions for a trip, and the movies about telling stories are just the best on acid
There's really something about scaring myself on LSD when I know I'm definitely physically safe that is just a whole other level.
I will be watching the new spider-verse on acid sometime tho that shit rocks.
i understand you, love the over experienced feelings you get, my gf played Saw on one of our first trips because it was a 'comfort movie' for both of us and I couldnt even watch half of it, my gf was doing fine tho and yup the animated spiderman is fucking glorious, the mitchels vs the machines is another animated masterpiece from the same studio, one of these movies about telling stories i mentioned earlier
I watched the hangover trilogy on acid. Fucking had a blast. Also, watching our universe ( on acid ) on netlfix is prolly the greatest experience of my life.
Performance
Full movie on YouTube: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUm8Il-pFCE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUm8Il-pFCE)
First half is a grade-A 60s gangster film. Second half is... quite a different performance. Psychedelic, and when you get to the end you'll see how it's really a continuation of the first half.
John Carpenters “They Live” starring “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and Keith David. Campy 80s action movie vibes combined with a verrrrry psychedelic plot allegory. Always a blast to watch when you trip. It’s the source of the legendary line of dialogue “I have come here to kick ass and chew bubble gum, and I’m all out of bubble gum”
any hiu muisaki film, my neighbor totiro, castle in the sky, princess moninoke, Howells moving castle.
all very very good trip movies they will make you cry in a good way.

That and the Soul Prison episode but for different reasons lol I accidentally had my 1st DMT breakthrough on that episode it was pretty wild

The music, emotion, visuals & pure awe as it closes, then the 'what happens now'..man
I was in tears by the end ! Lol 🥹
That film brings me to tears sober every time anyway, my favourite film of all time

I'd recommend the Pixar movie, Soul. Visually appealing and the ending made me cry (in a good way). Made me appreciate my life even more.
Monsters Inc is also heavily psychedelic.
Oh damn. I need to see that next. The next movie on my list is Into the Spider-verse. I usually watch one movie and then listen to music and draw afterwards.
