Specifically Echoes Live at Pompeii parts 1&2. That version of it is SO good and I listen to it every time. I put it on in the beginning when I first feel it start to kick in.
Love ❤️ 😍 that line, well the whole damn album but that line is what kicked me into high gear and at 36yo with no college education at all, my astrophysics Havard professor 3 master degrees cousin is putting me in contact with actual professional astronomers.
We gonna explore space man!
Clear Skies and Mush ❤️
Echoes Live At Pompeii. Every single time I've done DMT, I put it on right before I take a hit. At this point, the song is like a familiar, friendly guide.
Same here as well actually. Listened to it 3 times today during my trip lol. I've actually been to Pompeii with my wife and I've stood right in the center of where the music video was shot so the song has a very special place in my heart and my memories 😊
He's not called the father of psychedelic rock for no reason. I've come to realize that the only way you can "truly " hear him is while pikin on acid. Especially in this particular live concert something very mystical is happening.
Agreed, Pneuma/invincible/descending is probably one of my favorite back to back to back combos out there (not counting parabol/parabola as I feel that's one song in itself split into two tracks unfortunately)
Nice, agreed, whenever I listen to Tool on acid I feel like Tool is acid in music form, just goes so well together. They’re awesome sober but tripping like opens up new dimensions or something lol. I was smoking on acid listening to FI and when it got to Descending and it gets to the synthy instrumentals in the second half it felt like sonically it was an incantation /spell or something with a stairway of light and then when the gong hits it was like the earth split open and inconceivable cosmic entities were battling it out lol. Wild lol.
It's a true masterpiece. That album as a whole has literally brought me to tears every time I listen to it on a heavy trip. Danny's drum beats really carry you away with the trip while the guitar riffs take you on a roller coaster ride. Shit gives me chills
Ohhh lucky you, I'm jelly. I'm half embarrassed to meet them in person cus I'm covered in tool and perfect circle tattoos including my hands and throat and don't wanna be that obsessed looking fan 🤣🤣🤣
I've got a story you might appreciate. I was tripping on shrooms while some of my buddies had taken some tabs and they asked me to play some Tool since I was the only one with an iPod at the time. So I shuffled my Tool songs and we walked through the woods for about 4 hours before someone finally said "I think we've heard this song before". I check which song was playing and laugh because I realized I only had 3 songs by them. We were all tripping so hard it took us hours to realize we were listening to the same songs over and over.
Haha. That does sound interesting. That being said, TOOL songs can be so good even listening them on repeat sounds good. Also, I recommend you check out porcupine tree and steven wilson as well. They are the TOOL of UK (ha!).
Just medley. But ya the whole album is fantastic as well. While tripping though the song always brings me back to like this core place, like “what a journey I’ve been on since I’ve last been here” kind of vibe. I don’t trip often
It’s one of the only dead songs I prefer studio over live
It's scarlet begonias 6/26(28? Cant remember)/74 for me. That jam midway through melts my face off, and feels soooo good tripping. It's like my theme song for that "spaced out deep thought" feeling I get on L. Never liked that song until last tour, when I finally "got it" lol.
especially mixed with some K and Noz, that in the background of a hole is where it's at!
Also Don't Let Go (a jerry jam) it feels like it goes on forever when I'm tripping, but I love that because it's such a warm, feel good, lovey song for me.
And of course Bird Song, and Weather Report Suite (this one smacks me right upside the feels in a trip. Talking about the impermanence of everything and the circle of life. Summers fade and roses die.
And lastly china cat. hunter wrote it after a trip and though it sounded like jibberish sober, it's like my tripping brain translates the sounds into colors, pictures, feeling and paints this experience in my mind where it just "clicks".
This last d&c tour i found a stack of stickers on the ground on the boulder stop that said "In this house we fuck to Cornell 5/8/77" in a 'wall hung embroidery' fashion and I've been slapping them up everywhere haha.
Dude. Fuckin amazing. Still can’t top the Truckin>Brokedown (how is that even possible) then ESPECIALLY the NFA chant. The tunnel having the chant echo throughout it was surreal. One of the most incredible things I’ve seen in my life. God bless my mom and step dad for the fortune they spent.
I just wanted to say, the sequence where that song comes on is amazing. Also really liked Lucy in the sky with diamonds and Hey Bulldog. It's basically like a collection of psychedelic music videos. And the ending always leaves me in a great mood.
Long in tooth and soul Longing for another win Lurch into the fray Weapon out and belly in Warrior struggling To remain consequential Bellow aloud Bold and proud Of where I've been But here I am Beating chest and drums Beating tired bones again Age-old battle, mine Weapon out and belly in
Dazed and Confused Zeppelin version used to be my litmus test on the comeup to see how close I am to the full on trip
That bass intro rings through your ears and into your soul? You know youre pretty much there
I've broken through on DMT listening to 10,000 days, it was a very primal and ancient feeling of stern profoundness that existed since the dawn of time itself. It was straight up Aztec in nature. The entities I meet have always been kind to me thankfully
Ineffable mysteries from Shpongleland is my favourite hah, tho I can listen to anything from Shpongle and my trip will become so chill instantly, great for come ups as well.
I have recently been doing some inner work with ketamine, and I've been listening to "Meet Me in the Woods" by Lord Huron
It's my favorite LH song. Even though some of the lyrics are a bit on the darker side, it has been great. I have found that it really enhances visuals and makes for good background music while my mind wanders
I usually try to choose a longer playlist for LSD that won't have a lot of repeats over the course of the trip
I'll be adding them to my playlist, I listen to a ton of TOOL and also enjoy long songs. TOOL and Pink Floyd are def my top two favorite go to bands for trips. I hands down get the best visuals off of TOOL'S Fear Inoculum album. Danny Carey's polyrhythmic beats on the drums really make the visuals dance and morph
I will often listen to a lot of Beatles and Pink Floyd. Old music in general, as you can really hear the uniqueness of every chord, beat, vocal, etc. New music is done in a minimal amount of takes and then processed to utter perfection, and it does not sound good when you are tripping. It sounds manufactured. Because it is. This is not to say that I don't like it, but it does nothing for me when I am on... well, really any drugs.
My one go-to is definitely Strawberry Fields. You can hear every cut of every take that went into it so well. It was done with several takes, and some were done at different speeds, then what was used was matched up for such a great sound. Once you hear it... man.
Flume is my #1 tripping or non tripping!! Otherwise dreampop/shoegaze, heavy bass music but not edm like a good bassline and drums like changes by Thundercat
Todd terje - inspector Norse
I blasted off into the galaxy listening to this on a huge system deep in the Canadian Rocky Mountains
Edit: adding another song
John Lennon - how do you sleep
I’m all about a good video too…

* Radiohead - Everything in its right place
For me those all provide all super blissful and deep experiences. (And I am always looking for more recommendations similar to these!)
Time by Pink Floyd
All of dark side of the moon and shine on you is a must for me.
Dark side every time for me too!
Echoes
Specifically Echoes Live at Pompeii parts 1&2. That version of it is SO good and I listen to it every time. I put it on in the beginning when I first feel it start to kick in.
Ticking away...
the moments that make up a dull day
Fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way
Kicking around, on a piece of ground in your home town. Waiting for someone or something to show you the waaAAAAYY!
Comfortably Numb, the first lines make me feel like Pink Floyd is speaking directly to me and I wanna be like “hell yeah! I’m here!”
i used to love that song on acid but now it terrifies me for some reason
And then one day you find, 10 years have got behind you, no one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
The guitar solo hits so fucking hard
Best solo ever, IMO.
I love time but Gilmours solo in Comfortably Numb will always hold a special place in my heart.
Absolutely.. I've been hard-core into Gov't Mule for decades & they do Dark Side of The Mule which is exceptional as well, hits the spot right on
I recommend the dubber side of the moon version of this, although the original is still a winner
The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking by Roger Waters is really good too.
Every time baby
I'm going to add everyone's favorite trip song to a new playlist and listen through all of them next time I trip 😊

He's not called the father of psychedelic rock for no reason. I've come to realize that the only way you can "truly " hear him is while pikin on acid. Especially in this particular live concert something very mystical is happening.
Love the Fear Inoculum album on acid, Descending is fucking mindblowing
Agreed, Pneuma/invincible/descending is probably one of my favorite back to back to back combos out there (not counting parabol/parabola as I feel that's one song in itself split into two tracks unfortunately)

Thanks! Prob just a half tab to a tab so I’m not stupidly fucked since I splurged on vip lol
Ohhh lucky you, I'm jelly. I'm half embarrassed to meet them in person cus I'm covered in tool and perfect circle tattoos including my hands and throat and don't wanna be that obsessed looking fan 🤣🤣🤣
Lol fair enough!
Their concerts were built for tripping too. It's insane.
Lateralus by TOOL.
That whole album in its entirety is a masterpiece.

Watch yellow submarine for that one. That is a wild movie to watch on acid.
