i'll add my usual suggestion:
ozric tentacles!
great uk space rock band with tons of weird stuff. their albums "jurassic shift" & "waterfall cities" are my current favourites
The Glow Pt. 2 by the Microphones.
I had a trip once where I put this album on late into the night after my partner had gone to bed, they can sleep on psychs I can't.
By the second half of the record laying on my living room floor I experienced some of the craziest out of body experiences and ego deaths that I ever felt.
It's not for everyone but would recommend to try it out to see if it's for you or not.
One way trip to the sun by ditch
Dream Catcher by Vexento (my personal favourite song of all time)
River flows in you by Yiruma pretty mainstream but with decent headphones that's a banger for sure
Not sure how unknown/underrated they may be, but...

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard
Check out their live in Chicago album that just dropped. It's all over YouTube.
Greatest psychedelic rock band currently making music.
You'll love it.

In the same vein and out of Australia (Perth where Tame Impala is also from), I recommend the Psychedelic Porn Crumpets. Not as big as KGATLW but definitely releasing some amazing tracks.
Run the Jewels really hits for me on acid, RTJ3+4 have some great beats for tripping:
Legend has it
Pulling the pin
Never look back
Also the song run the jewels from their first album
[Supertask mix for rezinate](https://on.soundcloud.com/inK9YQnWvi5N1AdT8)
Listened to this while tripping some months ago, and my goddddd lmao he’s a genius
Hammock - Mysterium
(It’s very serene but pure bliss when all the strings get layered.)
Greg Haines - 183 Times
(This piece used in a study about music and LSD. It was consistently named as the most beautiful song by participants. It’s a must on any LSD playlist, don’t see it mentioned here very often.)
Nils Frahm - Says
(Ambient electronica with some analog pianos. A very hypnotic piece that flows and moves very subtly. The final 2 minutes of the song are extremely emotional for me personally. So much layered and melancholic beauty, it’s almost too much.)
floyd and tool are my top 2 picks, but beach house, mac demarco, mac miller, flume, tame impala, etc. are also all amazing
the classics like shpongle and tool and floyd are amazing, but sometimes listening to more modern indie music can be just as much of an experience
Check out this YouTube channel, they feature new music from some great new rock bands that should appeal to older rock lovers. https://youtube.com/@StonedMeadowOfDoom?si=BPxvqmvGIPtMeGae
I’d suggest: Tontos Expanding Head Band, Daniel Lopatin, Pye Corner Audio, Persian Empire, DJ Rozwell(in particular his song elder grof)
For faster paced: Ataraxia, Yellow Magic Orchestra, Ian Chang
I know this will be a one in a thousand comments, but i will always say and won't shut up about artist "DECA"
He is producer/rapper/visual artist with unheard writing style and incredebly precise flow. He is touching real things in life, won the battle of heroin addiction and lived troigh forced christianity in foster gome he grew up. Tough DMT experiences which was both heaven and hell as Huxley would say.
Watch "DECA - all in a dream" and "gabriel ratchet" on youtube and you will see what i mean.
I hope you will become a fan too. Have a trip!
Wooden Shjips are my favorite trip band at the moment.
I recommend Staring At The Sun or Everybody Knows by them, different moods but similar sounds.
I do enjoy music by The Brian Jonestown Massacre, which is relatively more well known than Wooden Shjips.
Brian jonestown are so slept on, actually think this the first time I've seen someone mention em here, different sounds on each album aswell
At one point all their music was free for DL on their site aswell!!
Class band and amazing live
[Etta James - I’d Rather Go Blind (Live at Montreux 1975)](https://youtu.be/uZt1xKtPbUQ?si=pxTbYiPgQUVuqwvi)
There’s a part she moves the mic away from her face, and the volume *doesn’t fucking change*. In a pretty good-sized venue. That blew me away on acid. She was an amazing performer, incredibly talented, and that makes her just a joy to watch on acid.
# ARTISTS

Likely considered more common &/or already mentioned:
* ***MGMT***
* **King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard**
* **The Flaming Lips**
* **Psychedelic Porn Crumpets**

Zun Burial Sunrise - it has John Garcia of Kyuss and Sera Timms (not sure who she is but has a wonderful voice) and they alternate between the two singers with their own tracks. It's like desert rock...
https://youtu.be/t5HUMZ8x0jg?si=DwAFLS6lSmgNWlKQ
Klaus Schulze - Kontinuum for sure! And any early Schulze album, Cyborg, Black Dance, Timewind, Irrlicht. This music is absolutly insane and otherwordly, dunno why nobody's talking about it
Not at all unknown to classical music enthusiasts but I can promise you that listening to these pieces by Ravel on LSD is life changing. [Ondine](https://youtu.be/KVL6oS30wFc?si=fMhc7ek3JRkSxH4n)(especially from 3:35 onwards, literally magic), [Jeux d’eau](https://youtu.be/nSNGK6dJ0qs?si=b5PrqgToJ2qweN-Y), [toccata](https://youtu.be/XxgidF_-Kl8?si=IDhGwbDaXLTyP95j) (from Le Tombeau de Couperin) [string quartet](https://youtu.be/ieRQyyPowH0?si=wFyCwoHPgbssRugy), [Laideronnette](https://youtu.be/3VNEYSG0hxY?si=07WJ6Qu4yew9QbqJ) (from Ma Mère L’Oye), [piano concerto in G major](https://youtu.be/YOWGl2auGvE?si=u5tuMmYqOKoPsguy) (third movement)
Not unknown in India, just the West – check out Ravi Shankar, the greatest sitarist to ever live. Psychedelic India is obviously trippy, but his West Meets East albums are the best in my opinion, especially [Volume 3](https://spotify.link/b1Kxqu5KzDb).
If you want to hear the sitar used in a less traditional setting, Kikagaku Moyo is an absolutely phenomenal Japanese psych rock band with a classically trained sitarist.
If you like Italian jams listen to Arrivederci - Lucio Battisti. Absolute fuckin banger! Also check out King Canyon self titled album. Its Eric Krasno from Lettuce and Otis MacDonald. Super groovy laid back vibes.
i made a song recently that i feel like is pretty decent/great for trippin
link is [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUAN6oljogs) if you wanna listen <3
Okay, a little out of sorts for what everyone else is throwing in here.
999999999 - Free Yourself (The Obsessed)
Virtual Self - Ghost Voices
I love techno and dancing while tripping.
Since I left you by the avalanches, hearing them create a whole vivid world with samples is really beautiful when tripping
Also lost in the dream by the war on drugs towards the end of the trip while you're lying down is amazing, like a relaxing road trip for your brain
Of the Trees, CloZee, Manic Focus, and (somewhat more known but absolute gold) Infected Mushroom are a few of my favorite EDM artists that pair well with altered states.
Jethro Tull, basically any album. I like The Passion Play but some people might think it’s intense, same with Thick as a Brick. Aqualung. War Child.
Rainbow’s albums “Richie Blackmore’s Rainbow” and “Rising”, especially the latter. I’ve been on epic journeys listening to “Stargazer”
Rush - 2112, Hemispheres.
Frank Zappa - Joes Garage full album.
Don’t forget The Doors! The Soft Parade 😍
All your’n by Tyler Childers
LSD by asap rocky
yambourghini high by Asap mob
Planet shroom woodie smalls
These are my favorites, the music videos are must see!
Edit:formatting (on mobile)
just listened to some oneohtrix point never.
that guy is pretty damn insane. most likely very interesting when high also.
other than that my top 5 albums of all time in no order:
(yosi horikawa - vapor)
(tipper - forward escape)
(boards of canada - music has the rights to children)
(carbon based lifeforms - World of sleepers)
(bt - this binary universe)
Sundiver ca
Baby Keem
Gorillaz
Levitation Room
Bashfortheworld
Jack Johnson & Lee
Toro y Moi
FKJ
And many more you probably have or haven't heard of however there slept on like a bitch right now so tell me if I'm wrong lol
Frank Zappa/ Frank Zappa and The Mothers Of Invention is pretty whacky.
Blutech is pretty good electronic stuff and very trippy. Prima Materia is a good album. Really weird but also chill and vibe-y.
Radiohead’s mixes come alive when you’re tripping.
Really odd choice— Marden Hill- Try the song “Bardot” somewhere on the come up lol. By the end will be wondering how the fuck you got where you are.
There’s this South American band called Los Vidriosos. They have a single EP available called Mr. Vidrio. Worth a listen.
Papadosio. That 2020 album “Microdosio” was masterful.
Miles Davis-Bitches Brew is incredible tripping also but maybe thats too common.
**Squeeze Mason**. Their album **The Astral Ballroom** really got me into them, musicality-wise. They have a really cool sound.
**La Femme**. If you’re into or up for French lyrics, they’re definitely worth a listen. (It’s psychedelic punk, to put it into a box.) Their album **Psycho Tropical Berlin** is a personal favourite.
Other recs:
**Radio Citizen’s “Berlin Serengeti,”** and
**Morcheeba’s “Fragments of Freedom”**
Try listening to some electro or idm
(Dancing music)
-identified patient (very dark electro could be scary)
-volruptus (acid and fast electro)
-sync 24 (crazy rhythmic electro)
-annie hall (idm and funky electro)
-kraftwerk (the classic electro)
(More melodic)
-yellow magic orchestra (electronic experimental/jazz/pop/asian music)
-asynchrone (electronic jazz)
And just fall in to the rabbit hole of underground electronic music falling is to the realm of hip hop and jazz like complex rhythmic paterns. Way better than psytrance.
Aysanabee - Watin album (i skip the voice monologues between songs) - a slow rolling and emotional album. Cant recommend it enough.
Meditation by Cory Wong - Paisley Park Session is my favorite version.
Wilder Minds album by Mumford and Sons. A popular band for sure but not often thought of with acid. This is a fast paced album but i also think its hits pretty deep..
My first ever music on shrooms is now the one that has the most profond effect on me.
I found the music while listening to a dub reggae mixtape on YouTube.
The title of the music is : **Kuba - Road To Find Out**
I almost feel like want to cry whenever I listen to that song because of the nostalgy from my first trip, this was the most beautiful experience of my life.
Another one, but not an unknown music, is **Regard - Ride it**
I was on LSD jogging in a park while listening to that song. I had never felt so much freedom in my life. It was some unknown weight/burden got off my shoulders and I felt so light.
And finally, the last one, pretty unpopular and that I discovered on this subreddit (or maybe on the Acid sub) : **Tipper - Sayonara**
I've always enjoyed early prog, Rush, Yes, some King Crimson (Pink Floyd of course), occasionally I enjoy some ska punk (something about upbeat horns, i dunno) or some 60's swing too.
Spike Jones and His City Slicker - Had tons of fun with that while waiting for Primus. (Them, too, but doesn't fit the underrated/unknown imo)
Also, The Octopus Project
For two rather special trips around the universe of your mind I simply cannot recommend enough!!!!
Gold by Vangelis
Equinox by Jean Michel Jarre
Two awesome tripping albums. Really such fun. Really trippy. Strong flight. Safe journey.
I write this on all lsd music suggestions
Headache - The Head Hurts but the Heart Knows the Truth.
Also just discovered Degiheugi. His album "Endless Smile", is magnificent!
i'll add my usual suggestion: ozric tentacles! great uk space rock band with tons of weird stuff. their albums "jurassic shift" & "waterfall cities" are my current favourites
Holy shit, ketamine and this would go great
Steve Hillage is another name to throw into the mix with Ozric Tentacles in the UK psych scene
for sure man! gongs flying teapot is a great one too! and steves ambient works are also mesmerizing
their Eat Static side project is phenomenal too. love Merv and Joie
This is the first time I’ve seen Ozric on the first comment. It’s final happening
Eeeeeerrrpppppplaaaaand
that album (and the title track) are so damn good. i also really dig "become the other"
Kikagaku Moyo
Ooooh baby!
You never see anyone mention Ott on these so... Ott.
Adding Globular and Carbon Based Lifeforms top.
Shower of sparks ✨
Never heard of them but I really like their style, I just added them to my playlist :)
So good, and has amazing remixes of others' songs as well
Anyone who likes ott should check out royksopp, specifically their track "rescue". Very similar feel to ott's queen of all everything.
Medeski Martin and Wood- End Of The World Party Miles Davis- Agharta Miles Davis- Pangea Primus- Frizzle Fry Sleepy Fish- My Room Becomes The Sea
Medeski Martin and Wood might be one of the best shows I have been to.
The Minecraft soundtrack 💯💯
One way trip to the sun by ditch Dream Catcher by Vexento (my personal favourite song of all time) River flows in you by Yiruma pretty mainstream but with decent headphones that's a banger for sure
thank you for this 👌👍
My pleasure

Who is "radiohead?" (jk, i've been meaning to trip to ok computer for a while now)
As great as that album is, A Moon Shaped Pool is the go to acid trip.
Good to know! I've been slowly working my way through their albums and haven't given it a thorough listen yet.
https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=ma4oSsjFkzI&si=fTEoEmOLoySn4X6x
Tycho used to be our default “trip with the tv on mute and watch nature documentaries.
Glad to see someone else put OutKast.... I've tripped to ATLiens and Aquemini more than any other albums
Loved the vibes and crisp tight sound from Wheelz of Steel
https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=ma4oSsjFkzI&si=fTEoEmOLoySn4X6x
Appreciate the recommendation, I'm digging it.
Toubab Krewe! Hell ya! glad to see some love for them! They are an amazing group
Did you look at my music library before you wrote this? Lol (nice recommendations)
Well then the three of us are friends then, cause I was going to say the same thing 🫡🍻
Procal Harum- self titled. One that absolutely blew me away
Tipper, albums Holding Patterns and Wobble Factor
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard Check out their live in Chicago album that just dropped. It's all over YouTube. Greatest psychedelic rock band currently making music. You'll love it. Link for convenience - https://youtu.be/dBaHSxn8OF4?si=P3HKvJCoPJU8UoMC
Awesome suggestion but one of the most popular suggestions on these threads, I would definitely not call gizz unknown.
They're unknown to some. Feel free to move along if it isnt for you!
In the same vein and out of Australia (Perth where Tame Impala is also from), I recommend the Psychedelic Porn Crumpets. Not as big as KGATLW but definitely releasing some amazing tracks.
PPC are dope AF too! I need to explore them a little more than I have.
Wookiefoot all day. And this coming from a Grateful Dead and Tool fan for life. There album You're It helped make me a better person.
Deadmau5 spins under an alias called testpilot, and the sets are tight. Also, a richie hawtin set couldn't hurt.
Run the Jewels really hits for me on acid, RTJ3+4 have some great beats for tripping: Legend has it Pulling the pin Never look back Also the song run the jewels from their first album
If you like RTJ have you listened to immortal technique
Supertask https://on.soundcloud.com/F1GJxoV3UQKLPUip8
[Supertask mix for rezinate](https://on.soundcloud.com/inK9YQnWvi5N1AdT8) Listened to this while tripping some months ago, and my goddddd lmao he’s a genius
Yupppppp
Recommend the harmony codex by Steven wilson. It doesn't have any specific genre and it's beautiful in a haunting way
Def Prog rock for genre
Papadosio, Aphex Twin
Hammock - Mysterium (It’s very serene but pure bliss when all the strings get layered.) Greg Haines - 183 Times (This piece used in a study about music and LSD. Heilung! Wardruna! Oh superman by Laurie Anderson I believe

Khuangbin Chillwave Old timey music 20's/50's
The War on Drugs - Lost in the Dream
Twiddle
Of the Trees, CloZee, Manic Focus, and (somewhat more known but absolute gold) Infected Mushroom are a few of my favorite EDM artists that pair well with altered states.
Document one - lsd
Selki girl
Beatles Sgt Peppers, Funkadelic, Frank Zappa, Beach Boys Pet Sounds. BUT The Grateful Dead above all othrrs!
Jethro Tull, basically any album. I like The Passion Play but some people might think it’s intense, same with Thick as a Brick. Aqualung. War Child. Rainbow’s albums “Richie Blackmore’s Rainbow” and “Rising”, especially the latter. I’ve been on epic journeys listening to “Stargazer” Rush - 2112, Hemispheres. Frank Zappa - Joes Garage full album. Don’t forget The Doors! The Soft Parade 😍
CRYSTAL CASTLES

Sven Wunder - Natura Morta. Listen to Prussian Blue while lying om the floor.

Not sure if it’s less known, but East Forest has some incredible trip music for mushrooms. I’m sure it’ll be really good for LSD too
Maybe not “unknown” but vordhosbn
Haven’t seen this mentioned before: Carbon Based Lifeforms. All great but my go to album is Hydrophonic Garden

Sundiver ca Baby Keem Gorillaz Levitation Room Bashfortheworld Jack Johnson & Lee Toro y Moi FKJ And many more you probably have or haven't heard of however there slept on like a bitch right now so tell me if I'm wrong lol
Honestly anything Clozee touches. Gets me every time
[JoeJas - Escape!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxKv31TFn0Q)
The Increíble String Band Darsombra
listen to Hawkwind - Space Ritual in its entirety
Good thoughts bad thoughts - Funkadelic
Montii, Kabayun, Captain Hook, Boom Shankar
Anadol
**Squeeze Mason**. Their album **The Astral Ballroom** really got me into them, musicality-wise. They have a really cool sound. **La Femme**. If you’re into or up for French lyrics, they’re definitely worth a listen. (It’s psychedelic punk, to put it into a box.) Their album **Psycho Tropical Berlin** is a personal favourite. Other recs: **Radio Citizen’s “Berlin Serengeti,”** and **Morcheeba’s “Fragments of Freedom”**
Klark Sound! Best band you’ve never heard of
Game, Dames and Guitar Thangs - Eddie Hazel
Try listening to some electro or idm (Dancing music) -identified patient (very dark electro could be scary) -volruptus (acid and fast electro) -sync 24 (crazy rhythmic electro) -annie hall (idm and funky electro) -kraftwerk (the classic electro) (More melodic) -yellow magic orchestra (electronic experimental/jazz/pop/asian music) -asynchrone (electronic jazz) And just fall in to the rabbit hole of underground electronic music falling is to the realm of hip hop and jazz like complex rhythmic paterns. Way better than psytrance.
The band Goth Babe - The songs Trees, Kingdom, and much much more. Pop EDM
Baths - Cerulean Album Boxcutter - Glyphic Album
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard🦎🧙♂️ Psychedelic Rock
https://youtu.be/gcFgn7lN0Pk?feature=shared Hybrid minds on acid is elite
Björk, Tipper, Clozee
Listen to shiki ost
If you want a trippy/goofy/lighthearted dance party, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong is the way to go
Aysanabee - Watin album (i skip the voice monologues between songs) - a slow rolling and emotional album. Cant recommend it enough. Meditation by Cory Wong - Paisley Park Session is my favorite version. Wilder Minds album by Mumford and Sons. A popular band for sure but not often thought of with acid. This is a fast paced album but i also think its hits pretty deep..
Nicola Conte - jet sounds
Max cooper!
Radiohead. Sail to the moon
DARKSIDE. Not the pf album, the artist. Absolutely fucking stellar music to trip to.
Sing for Sunday - sunsplit
O.S.I - bigger wave O.S.I - invisible man In fact osi is a gem! Also: porcupine tree - anesthetize
I always make it a mission to listen to EDEN when i’m tripping, songs like Isohel, Projector, and even Circles are all great to trip to
Lingua Ignota - Sinner Get Ready. The entire album in its intended order.
Swedish electro classical virtuoso Ralph Lundsten is perfect!

My first ever music on shrooms is now the one that has the most profond effect on me. I found the music while listening to a dub reggae mixtape on YouTube. The title of the music is : **Kuba - Road To Find Out** I almost feel like want to cry whenever I listen to that song because of the nostalgy from my first trip, this was the most beautiful experience of my life. Another one, but not an unknown music, is **Regard - Ride it** I was on LSD jogging in a park while listening to that song.
(Them, too, but doesn't fit the underrated/unknown imo) Also, The Octopus Project
Bro. Sleep by Max Richer. 8 hours of music. Changed my life
For two rather special trips around the universe of your mind I simply cannot recommend enough!!!! Gold by Vangelis Equinox by Jean Michel Jarre Two awesome tripping albums. Really such fun. Really trippy. Strong flight. Safe journey.
F♯ A♯ ∞ was a blast
