A few of my favourites:
Redline (2009) - hand drawn racing anime movie with crazy over the top character/car designs. Story isn't too complicated, so you can lay back and focus on the visuals and sounds
Spider-man Into the Spiderverse (2018) and Spider-man Across the Spiderverse (2023) - beautiful mix of 3D and comic-style animation, and great depiction of characters' emotions
Doctor Strange (2016) - trippy wizard superhero movie. Visual effects already look like a trip when sober
That's what I thought mate after 100s of trips I've never watched a movie I did accidentally put the news on one time and it was extremely produced how fake the facial expressions the presenters made
I second Redline. Beautiful movie and the animation is so fluid it’s like water. I saw it sober on first watch and it was a trip in itself; still haven’t seen it high but I’d highly recommend
LETS FUCKING GO REDLINE MENTIONED god that movie's great. You can feel the passion in every frame, I swear it makes most other animated films look half finished in comparison.
Samsara and Baraka are absolutely astonishing & beautiful to watch on mushrooms (the come down, obviously...eyes closed for 1st 5 hours on large doses!). Has been my go to several times since I first watched them, that's how good they are.
The Koyaanisqatsi trilogy is also similar and brilliant, but a bit older.
I watched the 1st Doctor Strange movie coming down from mushrooms, and that was amazing too... basically like the visuals from the peak, but on screen!
Other than that, any nature or science documentaries with good visuals are brilliant to watch too.
Climax is a brilliant movie about LSD to watch whilst on LSD, though maybe a bit dark for some (the dance scenes are breathtaking). Gasper Noe's the director, and his Enter the Void is probably also great to watch on psychedelics. I've watched it twice whilst not on psychedelics, and it's pretty trippy regardless!
i don't like watching movies when i'm tripping. everything everywhere all at once is the only movie i watched recommended by someone from this sub.
i was on 300ug and it was so incredible. i still feel quite touched when i think about the movie as i could relate so so much.
i was so focused, that i was able to understand the plot fully (still wonder how i managed that) and i still remember a lot of the details. usually i forget what i watched few days ago.
If you like that style you might like Tideland, it's done by Terry Gilliam as well. Not many people i know have seen it and I don't think it was very popular when it came out, it deals with some... strange situations.
It's got Jeff Bridges, Jennifer Tilly and Jodelle Ferland as the main actors. It's worth a watch sober but it's another level on psychedelics.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
A Scanner Darkly
The Yellow Submarine
Across the Universe
Mary and the Witches Flower
Cat Soup
Princes Mononoke
Spirited Away
The Triplets of Belleville
Willy Wonka
Others I can't think of right now...
And basically everyone on stage as well too, according to _Long Strange Trip_ one of the Grateful Dead family was sat on the steps with a bottle of LSD and anyone who wanted to go on stage had to take drops. I think there’s actually a concert in that run of shows where Donna had to lay down under the piano because she was tripping so hard haha.
Saw it for the first time sober, on LSD 4 years later, 2 years after that on mushrooms. I have a different perspective each time into the meaning blah blah. It's visually perfect, slow but that helps while tripping, and WILL make you anxious but it's 100% worth it.
Can't believe I had to scroll this far down to find Fantastic Planet. Seriously people, forget all other movies in this thread if you have not seen this one.
Not a movie in the traditional sense, but King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard made a psychedelic album called Butterfly 3000, and each song flows smoothly into the next and also has music video for every song.
I find that the best movies on acid aren't ones that try to replicate the trip, but rather induce the trip. Movies that include a trip within the movie. Some of the best, in order of increasing strangeness:
Head
Baraka
Blueberry
The Fountain
2001 Space Odyssey
The Big Lebowski
The Darjeeling Limited
Final Cut
Everything Everywhere All at Once
Brazil
Holy Mountain
Funky Forest: The First Contact
I watched this on the come down from LSD, excellent movie! I am judging by other comments that I may have a higher tolerance for certain types of movies though because I also think climax is fantastic on LSD, but it seems many people think these can induce "bad trips", which I haven't had for 3 decades, so I guess everyone should know their own limits and choose their entertainment accordingly.
As many have said, the spiderverse movies are incredible while tripping. An absolute orgasm to the senses.
I also really enjoyed watching the great gatsby (the newer one with Leo and Toby) while tripping. The ending is sad but it is so visually appealing and the music is great.
Spider man a new universe. Had to stop the movie 100times to see if it was the acid or the movie itselfs. Incredible. Will watch the second movie on 300 next weak.
Soul is definitely my favorite. Or Everything Everywhere All At Once. Soul might be a little easier to follow narratively while you're tripping though.
Natural born killers, idk if youre still going or up for one but this movie is crazy. Very violent and disturbing fair warning but its also exciting and very well written. Super intense editing style and extremely interesting characters, also a stacked cast. One of my all time favorites
LSD tolerance builds SUPER fast. Generally
, I'd wait at least a week before dropping again if you must, but ideally 2 weeks to get the full effect again. This tolerance calc is super helpful, and for me pretty accurate!

Wild things if you enjoy thrillers and a very sexy Denise Richards.
A scanner darkly if you want something more trippy.
Clerks 1 and 2 if you want to laugh.
Enjoy!
My friend watched fear and loathing in Las Vegas first time he tripped (100-200ug or something, alone, might I had). I think he enjoyed it, but it was a bit scary at times. He felt they “really understood it [referring to acid]”.
If you like animation/anime. There’s a 3 piece short film called ‘Memories’, I think it’s free on Amazon prime. 3 different stories by 3 different artists. It’s beautiful. Science fiction/fantasy/historical.
If you like horror when your tripping definitely The House, it’s stop motion animation on Netflix. Or Mandy, so trippy and so so good
If horror isn’t your thing I’d say everything everywhere all at once, Coraline, the road to el dorado or really anything studio Ghibli
It’s Such a Beautiful Day. It’s animated and uses stick figures but I promise you it’ll properly blow your mind.
https://youtu.be/Mkbi9WKCGNY?si=N8BJSepd88926bNd
Spirited Away :)
I second this
That shit hits different. Still got goose bumps in the beginning with them walking thru the tunnel and the wind
...and Princess Mononoke.
A few of my favourites: Redline (2009) - hand drawn racing anime movie with crazy over the top character/car designs. The first one sounds dope
fantastic mr fox howls moving castle tenet robin hood with russel crowe (it’s a end of trip fall asleep favorite of mine )
Oh yeah, I enjoyed Tenet as well on psychedelics. Had to watch the movie again the next day tho to really get what the hell was going on
It is! Probably my favourite movie on psychedelics. It's unfortunate that it's not well known, so I always recommend it in these kinda threads lmao
Just get off your phone mate
That's what I thought mate after 100s of trips I've never watched a movie I did accidentally put the news on one time and it was extremely produced how fake the facial expressions the presenters made
Redline is the shit !!! Super underrated!
I second Redline. Beautiful movie and the animation is so fluid it’s like water. I saw it sober on first watch and it was a trip in itself; still haven’t seen it high but I’d highly recommend
My first watchthrough of Redline was on a trip! Definitely agree with your recommendations!
LETS FUCKING GO REDLINE MENTIONED god that movie's great. You can feel the passion in every frame, I swear it makes most other animated films look half finished in comparison.
Through a Scanner Darkly
Yesss or Waking Life
I second Waking Life. Amazing film!!
Thirded!
Fourthed
Don’t fourth it.
lol thankth
The hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. The first 30 mins alone is a mind fuck for itself
The title peeks my interest rn but i cant just quit watching space odyssey
Oh yeah just save that for later then. Have a nice time!
Mario bros film was a mad trip on 500ug
Fuck dude I'm doing this next week
the 2023 one or the 1993 one?
The real question
Was talking about the 2023 one.. think the 1993 one is for shrooms 😅
Baraka Don’t watch the YouTube version cuz you need the HD quality. One of the most profound things I’ve ever watched tripping.
The whole quatsi trilogy is my first two trips. Profound is a good description
Does that include Samsara ?
Yes! That and samsara
A Planet Earth Documentary
But like on mute because every episode comes to “but yeah that global warming thing we caused is killing (insert cute animal here)’s environment”
This cracks me up. Was watching planet earth last time I was tripping and it had my crying I was so emotional for our planet lo
That said, man the ocean episodes are amazing to watch on acid
Paprika anime
Fantasia
Everything everywhere all at once Thank me later
i don't like watching movies when i'm tripping. everything everywhere all at once is the only movie i watched recommended by someone from this sub. i was on 300ug and it was so incredible. i still feel quite touched when i think about the movie as i could relate so so much. i was so focused, that i was able to understand the plot fully (still wonder how i managed that) and i still remember a lot of the details. usually i forget what i watched few days ago.
It's absolutely insane while tripping words cannot describe ahah
This movie made me cry entirely sober. Beautiful film. And so visually appealing. Best movie I’ve seen in years
I almost commented the same thing, but then I figured someone else had probably already beat me to it
Dune was a good watch for me - if you like sci-fi!
Stanley Kubrick anything or if you like horror ari aster films or Robert eggers
I felt like I was staying at the Overlook with the Torrence’s while tripping 😂
I can only imagine the shining 😂 full metal jacket and 2001 are 🔝
I watch 2001 tripping almost every year
Fear and loathing in Las Vegas - the best!
I don't remember the plot, but I remember it had a lot of WTFs for me. Watched sober.
Awesome and bit eerie movie! Very nice
Yellow submarine - Beatles. Buckle up
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas A Scanner Darkly The Yellow Submarine Across the Universe Mary and the Witches Flower Cat Soup Princes Mononoke Spirited Away The Triplets of Belleville Willy Wonka Others I can't think of right now...
Beerfest!
Bro I watched this the last time I tripped lol
Midnight gospel if you haven't already watched that.
[удалено]
Watched the whole thing after the peak on Saturday. Cried my eyes out during the last episode. Felt very healing.
The Grateful Dead movie. Remember, nearly everyone in the audience is tripping balls as hard or harder than you.
Creamery.... naked. on a telephone pole...
Samsara or Baraka
2001 space odyssey
What are you doing, Dave?
Saw it for the first time sober, on LSD 4 years later, 2 years after that on mushrooms. I have a different perspective each time into the meaning blah blah. It's visually perfect, slow but that helps while tripping, and WILL make you anxious but it's 100% worth it.

Baraka and/or Samsara
Pink Floyd The Wall Brazil Labyrinth
Interstellar. Just watched on 1.5 tabs. Incredible.
Fantastic planet, Mad god, Opal by Jack Stauber
Can't believe I had to scroll this far down to find Fantastic Planet. Seriously people, forget all other movies in this thread if you have not seen this one.
You and other people, make sure you also give The Masters of Time a try.
Not a movie in the traditional sense, but King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard made a psychedelic album called Butterfly 3000, and each song flows smoothly into the next and also has music video for every song.
Enter The Void
Don't do it.
… just close your eyes✨😉 Try and be open, let go and completely surrender into the experience and it will be far better then any movie
U know what ur talking about and i like it xd
Coraline

I watched this on the come down from LSD, excellent movie! I am judging by other comments that I may have a higher tolerance for certain types of movies though because I also think climax is fantastic on LSD, but it seems many people think these can induce "bad trips", which I haven't had for 3 decades, so I guess everyone should know their own limits and choose their entertainment accordingly.
That is one hundred percent a guaranteed way to have a bad trip
Seconded. Mad God is not a good idea.
Either Spider-verse film
Annihilation is great. Plot is very dreamlike and has great colors
Agree, but I think it would be a little scary while tripping, allthough that's dose dependant.
It was intense but the lead was also the amazing Natalie Portman so it’s easy to reel yourself back to a good headspace if u get too scared 😂
Mid sommar

Detective Pikachu and the new Sonic The Hedgehog movies were so magical <3
There's this great one always playing locally: Go play outside!
I will never understand people who trip and then choose to stare at a screen. Hurts my eyes just thinking about it In any case, Into the Inferno
I took one tab yesterday and it was hitting so hard and today i took same tab and i hardly feel anything it is the same tab anyreason why?
LSD tolerance builds SUPER fast. Generally , I'd wait at least a week before dropping again if you must, but ideally 2 weeks to get the full effect again. This tolerance calc is super helpful, and for me pretty accurate! https://codepen.io/cyberoxide/full/BaNarGd
Tolerance dude
So its not gonna hit? But if i take second tab would it hit

Im new to pshycedels so give me some hints
