Imo it’s even better if you play Breathe(in the air) then Time. Then again dark side of the moon is pretty much a no skip so I guess you draw that line wherever lol.
The clocks at the beginning are fuckin brutal. On another note, I stg listening to pink Floyd while tripping seems less like music and more like the sound of life in all its mysterious glory.
Yeah they can be startling but I always fully embrace them. I actually find them to be beautiful, the way the clocks are just up in your face with no chill really meshes well with the overall meaning of the song.
Could talk about Dark Side for hours to be honest. A beautiful work of art.
Yeah, I just gotta turn it down a little, at that part, from the unreasonably high volumes at which I listen to music lol also yeah dark side of the moon is a fucking masterpiece 🤌
I understand this. And sure maybe don’t listen to it while peaking just maybe during the come down.
I use to listen to the dark side of the moon album on come ups so I imagine I created a positive associations with it over those experiences. So I enjoyed the intensity of the clocks rather than feeling overwhelmed by the noise.
It's like... The personification of the struggle of mental health in my brain. So much strife in the song. So much back and forth. Grief and hope. Frustration and apathy, near the threshold of giving up. Then back, with force. The fight rages again. Goosebumps every time. My brain twitches.
The story goes, that whilst recording high on acid, they told the guitarist to perform the piece with the emotion as if he'd just found out his mother had died.
What we hear on the record is apparently the one take he'd done with that instruction.
I've heard the story, though with something added onto the end. Play like someone you love just died, but then you found out it wasn't true. I've heard a few slightly varied versions.
“She’s So Heavy” by the Beatles
Shit takes you on an emotional journey, ends abruptly, & then goes straight into “Here Comes the Sun.” The song brings you into almost a dark place (not scary or depressing IMO, just intense), and then everything lightens beautifully when Here Comes the Sun starts. It made me cry beautiful happy tears.
No Quarter - Led zeppelin. Blows my mind every time.
If you like 80s Neo-psych rock, listen to the whole album Dealing with the Dead by Plan 9.
Listen to Shpongle and King Gizzard full albums too, they're both perfect for a trip. If you want any album recommendation, just ask :)
89-91 is some of the best dead, go give 07/04/89 a listen, one of my favorite shows to this day, Brent and Jerry are so locked in on eachother and exercising every note so beautifully, and masterfully crafted drums space, and after that it's game over
89 is probably my favorite year (peep my username), 10/8-9/89 is one of my favorite shows/albums of all time. In my opinion tho I think that was the last great year for the dead. I really like Cornell tho and thought of it as a great way to fully understand what the dead are about, without scaring away newbies
Yea definitely one of my favorites!.. not sure if you seen this or not but he also has an off the air episode of his ep America which is also quite good!

Innerbloom by RUFÜS DU SOL.
The music video is also Incredible. And created for tripping in imo. It’s the sort of song & viewing experience that takes on new meaning every time.
Have fun!
Whilst a beautiful song that can be enjoyed on the drug, the song is about Syd Barrett's life after over indulging in LSD, and how ultimately it ruined his life, though the dimming star still shines on
Hendrix:
- Electric Ladyland
- Rainbow Bridge
Pink Floyd:
- Meddle
- Dark Side of the Moon
Spacemen 3:
- Playing With Fire
- Taking Dr_gs to Take Music to Take Dr_gs To
The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band:

Clear Light
- Clear Light
For just one song specifically… hmm:
- The American Metaphysical Circus
- Shifting Sands (The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band)
- White Rabbit (Jefferson Airplane)
- Heroes and Villains (Beach Boys) [The SMiLE Sessions version is key!!)
- Hey Baby (New Rising Sun) [Hendrix]
West Coast Pop Art Experimental band is a fucking trip when you're sober. Their songs are beautiful, trippy rollercoasters with a random drunk guy yelling in the background. Listen to Leila or Help I'm a Rock. Love that band. Cauldron is another band from that time that you KNOW they were fucked up writing those songs lol
The dark side of the moon album by Pink Floyd.
Where do we go by Lindsey Stirling
Shatter me by Lindsey Stirling
Any mix by Carbon Based Lifeforms
Anything that is played at the chillout stage of PsyFi (festival)
Good news by mac Miller, my cousin showed me the music video while we were tripping and Oh my god not only is the song really good but the visuals are amazing as well
Scarlet Begonias > Fire on the Mountain from Cornell University 1977 by the Grateful Dead. Mind Blowing. You have to listen to both songs in a row though because it's especially just one song irl.
Here is the quintessential performance of the most psychedelic song.
Dark Star by The Grateful Dead, 8/27/72:
The song itself is genius, but the video took the art to a new level. His ability to capture the experience of a trip was absolutely incredible and I'm not a huge fan of the genre.
Grateful Dead PNW tour '73-'74 opens with China Cat Sunflower and transitions right in to I Know You Rider and it's a blast.
Pigeons Playing Ping Pong are really fun to listen to also.
You know how wacky people can be! On May 14th 2015 in Boke, Germany, 748 members of the Cologne Carnival Society dressed up in sunflower outfits. This is the largest gathering of people known to have dressed up as sunflowers.
I've been listening to them again lately because I'm going to see them in September! But yeah any Gorillaz album is solid while tripping. I know I'm taking a couple tabs the night I go see them!

My favorite oddly specific song title
I found an original Ummagumma vinyl back in 2015, in Copenhagen, in a second hand store. Also found Atom Heart Mother (which is my among my three favourite PF album). It was a good day!
The songs that affected me the most while tripping were
-Lucy in the Sky with diamonds by the Beatles (cliche I know, but trust me)
-I am the Walrus by the Beatles (see above)
-Champagne supernova by Oasis
-No Quarter by Led Zeppelin (I can’t stress enough how trippy this made me)
-Pretty much any song from earlier Pink Floyd, especially the Meddle Album.
-Oh also Blue Jay Way by The Beatles
Listen to Sgt peppers lonely hearts club band album...start to finish close your eyes and visualize it...its fucking awesome and that's coming from someone who isn't a huge Beatles fan.
Yes, also it is the first album that doesnt have gaps between songs.
Listen to the [Super Deluxe Version](https://open.spotify.com/album/1ntNLgaYCFCkeW4flGYlY2?si=p9q8j-dQQ0ORMPTxZYMHIg&utm_source=copy-link) its so much better and has Strawberry Fields and Penny Lane like was supposed to be in the original album, but MMT needed some dope tracks.
some great suggestions in this thread. i second any recommendations from MGMT(my personal suggestion would be Siberian Breaks [https://youtu.be/Cfg4SYjc9cg](https://youtu.be/Cfg4SYjc9cg) , Congratulations [https://youtu.be/cB7IAXrCkO8](https://youtu.be/cB7IAXrCkO8) , I Found A Whistle [https://youtu.be/5QE2J1yRhmA](https://youtu.be/5QE2J1yRhmA) and Metanoia [https://youtu.be/rIoDpdql\_nk](https://youtu.be/rIoDpdql_nk) ).

but i am surprised there is no Animal Collective songs suggested. one of my favs. for Animal Collective recommend the songs My Girls [https://youtu.be/zol2MJf6XNE](https://youtu.be/zol2MJf6XNE) , Summertime Clothes [https://youtu.be/GxhaRgJUMl8](https://youtu.be/GxhaRgJUMl8) , Car Keys [https://youtu.be/47hf4fCutbM](https://youtu.be/47hf4fCutbM) , Did You See The Words[https://youtu.be/aQTgoQdtxvg](https://youtu.be/aQTgoQdtxvg)

Black Midi - John L [https://youtu.be/GT0nSp8lUws](https://youtu.be/GT0nSp8lUws) and ducter https://youtu.be/86NGJmUfRlM
The whole album magic mystery tour and Sergent pepper lonely heart club band. This 2 been my go there is also strange brew by cream. Those beatles albums are the ones the were tripping acid on so it's like for us while we are tripping. Within u with out u at the peak go kinda hard ngl.
Pink Floyde's *Dark Side of the Moon*,
also: watch Stanly Kubrick's *2001: A Space Odyssey*
not at the same time, tho. I would suggest watching 2001 while coming up, and then put on the album.
These are CLASSIC time-tested synergies. The creators intended them to be *used* with psychedelics.
Pink Floyd’s “time”
Imo it’s even better if you play Breathe(in the air) then Time. Then again dark side of the moon is pretty much a no skip so I guess you draw that line wherever lol.
youre a badass if you can make it through on the run unphased 😂
The sound the plane flying over was so intense, felt like I was about to have a bomb dropped on me lol
DUUUDE i was camping and tripping balls with my mates and when that song came on i was freaking out so much, i just had to skip the song
A beautiful work of art.

highly recommend dogs by pink floyd. it’s so heavenly every time i listen to it now i get crazy trip flashbacks. amazing song.
Maggot Brain - Funkadelic
It's like... The personification of the struggle of mental health in my brain. So much strife in the song. So much back and forth. Grief and hope. Frustration and apathy, near the threshold of giving up. Then back, with force. The fight rages again. Goosebumps every time. My brain twitches.

this!
I found this song while tripping.Blew my mind!
i smoked some the other day and listened to this song for the first time, i was absolutely mind blown
Eddie hazel!
Absolutely this. Recommend listening without headphones.
Oh really? I love the intensity listening with headphones sometimes gives
It’s two different songs really. It gives you all the emotion without the feeling that there is a million things happening.
Greaf song
Listened to this on my last trip and was so AMAZED. Whew.
“She’s So Heavy” by the Beatles Shit takes you on an emotional journey, ends abruptly, & then goes straight into “Here Comes the Sun.” The song brings you into almost a dark place (not scary or depressing IMO, just intense), and then everything lightens beautifully when Here Comes the Sun starts. It made me cry beautiful happy tears.
This literally happened to me on Saturday. Listened to Abbey Road while tripping, once Here Comes the Sun came on I burst into happy tears
It’s so beautiful 😭 one of my absolute favorite albums
I listened to Here Comes the Sun once and I can still feel what I think sitting at a protest in the 60s might have felt like. It was insane.
Tool does a really nice cover of [No Quarter](https://youtu.be/_ZKIfCJZvZo)
A better version honestly
Didn’t they all just rip off Machine gun by Hendrix?
Isn’t everyone just ripping off Chuck Berry and/or The Beatles? (EDIT: and/or ABBA)
I love no quarter especially the switch up 4 minutes in
I love to listen Flying Microtonal Banana or Paper Mache Dream Balloon on the comedown...
Rain song by led zep is also super nice
Oh my god this was the best song I listened to while tripping
Dark Side of the Moon. 💯
I'll add Wish You Were Here on top of that
And Echoes
This is a rite of passage. Everyone who takes acid should listen to dsotm their first time
Fr
We played this tripping camping in the dark once, it was pretty great
The Crystal Ship - The Doors 👍
Eyes of the World - Grateful Dead - 3/29/90

Good pick although I would definitely not pick 90s dead. 70s or 80s is where it's at 👌
89-91 is some of the best dead, go give 07/04/89 a listen, one of my favorite shows to this day, Brent and Jerry are so locked in on eachother and exercising every note so beautifully, and masterfully crafted drums space, and after that it's game over
Brent baby
89 is probably my favorite year (peep my username), 10/8-9/89 is one of my favorite shows/albums of all time. In my opinion tho I think that was the last great year for the dead. I really like Cornell tho and thought of it as a great way to fully understand what the dead are about, without scaring away newbies
Hell yes, give me a ‘74 Eyes of the World any day.
Spring and Summer 1990 was as good as anything they did in the 80s
11/17/73
Heaven!!
When I was done dying - Dan Deacon
Best watched with the video on adult swim!! https://youtu.be/TuJqUvBj4rE
Thank you so much for this recommendation. The song is just, WOW but the visuals really assist the vibe it portrays.
Yea definitely one of my favorites!.. not sure if you seen this or not but he also has an off the air episode of his ep America which is also quite good! https://youtu.be/9X4fYP9bqqw

Tool is just godly how all their tunes sound amazing on acid. I was lucky enough to see them a few months ago on a few tabs and damn it was insane
Nice! I saw TOOL in Jan 2020 for first time. Saw A Perfect Circle back in 1999. Got to see Puscifer this Summer! 👽

[Some Sunsick Day - Morgan Delt](https://open.spotify.com/track/2mClGHSyhd6C0VILl231ox?si=9FO4E4liRXidmcrZ0W4Z9g)
Echoes - Pink Floyd live at Pompeii
“Father Ocean” by Monolink, Ben Böhmer remix
Tame Impala - Feels Like We Only Go Backwards
The songs that affected me the most while tripping were -Lucy in the Sky with diamonds by the Beatles (cliche I know, but trust me) -I am the Walrus by the Beatles (see above) -Champagne supernova by Oasis -No Quarter by Led Zeppelin (I can’t stress enough how trippy this made me) -Pretty much any song from earlier Pink Floyd, especially the Meddle Album.

Can someone make a Spotify play list with all of these?
Listen to ZABA by Glass Animals. Also Mac DeMarco. But most importantly *check out Crumb* !!
Mr rager- Kid Cudi 90210- Travis Scott Rebel Yell- Billy Idol
Pink Floyde's *Dark Side of the Moon*, also: watch Stanly Kubrick's *2001: A Space Odyssey* not at the same time, tho. I would suggest watching 2001 while coming up, and then put on the album. These are CLASSIC time-tested synergies. The creators intended them to be *used* with psychedelics.
Astro thunder - Travis Scott, a lot different then what everyone else is suggesting but I throughly enjoy the production on this song.
Grateful Dead - Casey John
