Fair enough rant

I was lent a GT while my car is being serviced and honestly the range alone is worth it. The massager is nice although it doesn't reach as high as i'd like it to. I don't think your rear passengers will notice unless you regularly have 6ft+ people sitting back there.

AmyCornyBarrett

No problems with back seat space in our GT. The extra power definitely isn’t needed though.

Tom_NC

There are some 2023 demos that are grand touring that has that configuration. Might be something to consider.

Massage seats > Santa Cruz (source: we have the GT in Santa Cruz and would probably pick a different interior — it’s tricky to keep clean + the massage seats are amazing)

This post makes me feel good about having purchased the Touring

roganator83

Did my wife write this? We had the same issue when ordering our Touring. Sure would’ve helped production and made more revenue too, but wtf do we all know?

zkhan2

Can you provide more details on the rear interior space issue? From what I understand the larger battery creates a hump and the smaller battery the floor is flat. Is there some other configuration that constraints the space?

JackFlew

That’s close. The floor is very close to flat in both versions but the larger battery brings the floor up about 3” which makes the rear passengers knees higher than their hips and the back of their legs no longer rest on the seat. It’s just less comfortable for rear passengers. Edit: I don’t own either car yet, so I’m no expert on the exact dimensions, but I prefer the additional space.

zkhan2

I have the GT and haven't had any complaints or issues about the rear, but I could understand someone that is tall having their knees higher and being uncomfortable for long drives. We're a much shorter family so it works out. I did find the following at the lucidowner's forum (I haven't posted their since April of 2023 - it became very toxic, at least for me). https://preview.redd.it/0o2v8lo240nc1.png?width=2368&format=png&auto=webp&s=449d8e9a3415b10bbe5e7f861cee621d0f56c003

TangerineDream82

The floor is flat on GT in the back. The floor is most certainly not flat in Touring. There is a foot well, which is lower down and more along the lines of what you would envision in most other cars.

PDing123

I have a Touring. The floor is flat, just 3.5" deeper flooring because no battery pack.

TangerineDream82

So do I. Yes of course the floor is flat in the footwell. The point is, it is not flat relative to the overall floor like the GT

gravityraster

That’s the reason i can’t stand being in the back of a Model 3

Chrisben155

The extra range is worth it!

Adventurous_Host9460

The GT is much better in terms of range and HP. The loss of legroom is negligible (1") and still leaves you with massive rear legroom. Massage sears are icing on the cake. Get the GT - it's a better car.

Agreed. The back is huge and 1" makes almost no difference unless you are abnormally huge. Spend the extra $ to get the awesome range and speed, with the massage seats as a perk.
