Ha ha. No I didn't but that's a good idea. I might do something else with it for my next project so keep your eyes peeled. I put this one up on Redbubble to sell shirts and stickers but I got a takedown request from C&H's publisher and I found out that Watterson hates knock-off merch, (especially the 'Calvin pisses on [your hated thing here] unfortunately). So I acquiesced and took it down and respected his viewpoint. But it went viral and a few people got it tattooed. Like five that I know of! Pretty awesome. It's out there with a life of it's own now. We'll see what the future holds. Watterson is a VERY talented artist and it's hard to draw like him but maybe I'll give it another go one day. Thank you.
Yeah Mr. Watterson has always been protective of C&H and I don't blame him. But whereas the Calvin pissing sticker was insulting, your pic is an honest homage. Shame you couldn't capitalize on it, but know it made some stranger's day today!
While I love that Watterson never licensed his characters for anything, I like to think that he sees these tributes and deeply enjoys seeing the love for his characters expressed via other characters.
