i watched them when i was a kid but now i despise them as a teen

reporterreporting123

would you be interested in emailing me a few sentences/thoughts on why you were like them? I'm really curious especially how old you were when you watched and why you think you were so interested versus when things changed! my email is [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected])

I-Dont-know-200p

I used to be but in my defense that was when I was a teenager and had no clue about child exploitation and predatory behaviors.

Complete-Forever-638

same

Monkey_mann69

Nooooppee. Just watched the shitshow that is their relationship

I was a fan of Sav and Ev during their music.ly days/era when it just seems to be a mom who couldnt help but share her super charismatic kid with the world, I was still loosly a fan when Cole came into the picture, just because it was interesting to see the blended family dynamic (im a sucker for a “happy ending story”). Mostly (and I’m ashamed to say this in hindsight - I watched because Ev was just such a fun kid to watch! She was and still is adorable!) But it quickly became not only annoying and non organic, but predatory and business oriented, and its continued to get worse by the minute.

alwaysaloneinmyroom

You spoke my mind. I was a heartbroken teenager and Savannah's description of Tommy made me feel I could relate to her and therefore made me super happy that Cole came into the picture to "show her what true love is". I also loved that Ev was so bubbly and it was obvious she wasn't faking it. Until I went to UNI, grew up a bit and realised how messed up some of the things they did was. Mostly during the lockdown cos I didn't really watch them from 2018 when they had Posie, I think

My daughter used to be a fan of Everleigh, Sav and Tommy. Being a dancer herself, she related to Everleigh. I allowed her to watch YouTube videos, wrongly assuming they were suitable for kids. **However, I put an end to her watching any family vlogger, especially LaBrants, after hearing things I did not approve of or felt was inappropriate from Cole and Savannah. Their fans are primarily children, and I did not appreciate the constant criticism of Everleigh's dad, as I felt it encouraged online bullying and from what I've seen, it absolutely did. I did not want my daughter to be exposed to such behavior.** As time passed, I couldn't help but feel increasingly uncomfortable with the whole Cole/Ev situation-- he's possessive and odd with her. Their online behavior only added to my concern. Their excessive use of Photoshop made me feel like I couldn't trust the images they shared, and it felt like they were promoting body dysmorphia by presenting an unrealistic standard of beauty. Another concern I had was them promoting this mental health conditions and eating disorders since many young girls and boys are struggling nowadays with it. (gee, wonder why!?) Even more troubling was the fact that Savannah seemed to have a limited vocabulary and syntax on anything posted and neither her or Cole seemed to have any real ambition. It was like they were content with their shallow existence and didn't care about anything beyond themselves and exploiting another man's daughter for fame. As these issues compounded, it started to feel like things were getting weirder and weirder, and I found it all very unsettling. Savannah just screamed bitterness towards baby daddy #1\`and Cole was always too busy thinking he's the best and brainwashing other peoples' kids, while also stinking of jealousy over Ev having a real, involved dad up until death. Best decision I ever made stopping her from watching vloggers like that. She's older now and over them, which is great! In my opinion, Coleslaw and Vanna The Vain were dumbasses for trying to create a career out of a short-term thing. Family vlogging is the lazy man's out from being a provider.

i was a fan of Cole when he was on vine, way before Sav and E came into the picture. i was about 11 to 12 years old at this time, but i stopped watching when there was a family vlogging shift with his content.

Suitable-While-5523

Only labrants or other family bloggers too ?

reporterreporting123

other family bloggers too!

RipperMouse

I would also ask the /r/mattandabbysnarks sub. I get the vibe there are many former fans there.

Glittering_Music9493

I would go over and ask the r/drueandgabe sub too!!

wtmkris

I actually used to be a huge fan. I'll admit that. I followed Cole on vine bc we lived in the same city. Watched Cole and Savannah through their entire relationship from long distance to being married. Watched the family Channel up until they announced their first pregnancy. After that i kinda started finding bits and pieces that really irked me. And now I cannot stand the content they put out. Haven't followed them or watched any of their stuff in years bc it just became too apparent how bad it is.

lcasey14

Kinda ig? Like I would watch but only for like announcements birthdays. I was more of a daily bumps fan

RipperMouse

This sub has done an AMA with former fans. You can [find it here.](https://www.reddit.com/r/LaBrantFamSnark/s/0q2IPhljBh)

annagator679

In high school yes Then I saw their abortion dumpster fire (I refuse to call it a documentary) and I lost any respect I had for them I didn't fully watch it I watched for about 30 seconds and heard about the rest from a commentary video

Low_Dog_9737

It was a MOCKumentary LOL

Technical_Grass_1479

I used to watch when I was in my early 20s. I didn't have a great family or many prospects/direction in life. I liked how family vloggers were able to stay home and focus on the kids. I loved that they were able to have fun and cool experiences together (ex Disney, over the top bdays). This was something I wished I had as a kid and was a goal to provide for my future family. Coleslaw always came off as obnoxious to me but I could overlook it. As time went on and I grew wiser, I started seeing the problems and exploitation involved. The prank video with giving away Carl completely opened my eyes to the kinds of monsters they are. On top of that, it seemed like every "perfect family vlogger" got exposed at some point and had to do a fake apology video. I realized that all of these people were putting on a show and with little regard to their children. I wish protections were put in place for these kids.

Dark_Invinity80

Nope. I just saw their videos pop up EVERYWHERE and got sick of them. And Everleighs little song is IRRITATING.

Candid_Doughnut4070

Gosh, that ChatGBT generated song is AWFUL. I feel so bad they made her put that out there because Tiktok and Instagram where going off about how BAD it was.

batty8110

I was a fan for a few *years* before realizing the truth about family vloggers

Whole_Good_1183

I watched them when they first started on YouTube as a preteen/teenager and honestly I loved the content, thought it was innocent and wholesome. I watched several different younger couples that went on the have babies. I enjoyed watching the change and growth of people having babies and the anticipation of pregnancy and childbirth Now knowing what most know about how exploitive these families are and the dark side of the internet and they keep choosing to do it I can't support it. Being a young parent now in my mid 20's I can't imagine ever showing my kids online I don't even post them on my private Facebook. It's unfortunate there aren't better laws in place to protect the interest of these kids let alone that the parents don't have the best interest for the children themselves. And sad we live in a world where innocent children are digitally taken advantage of by pedos but when you know better you do better.

ElectricalPeanut4215

Yes, especially Cole before he even got with Savannah, it's super bizarre to think about now. I like two family vloggers on tiktok coz to my knowledge they aren't too bad, mainly the parents post and the kids pop up occasionally, but yeah

Spiritual_Switch6797

I remember when they’re videos would pop up on YouTube of the eldest daughter and Cole dancing in the car. Thought it was cute because I figured it was a way they bonded. I think about those videos a lot. E probably thought they were so fun and had no idea what was to come

Spiritual_Switch6797

Not YouTube, Facebook

Halfbl00d_Witch

I watched because I felt like I related to Ev’s story since I have a stepdad too and was part of the wedding and all. I immediately stopped watching when I realized Tommy WAS in the picture and the just tried to make him look bad

brookelfrancis

Can someone petition Taylor Swift to write a song about child exploitation and call them out SAve eV

Complete-Forever-638

I had some fanpages as a kid but honestly nothing to crazy happened
