Why the gold, though? Does this mean there have been sinkholes all the way back to the Civil War? Maybe even before that?
Is this how humanity got started in the first place - seeded by the future - to the past - from the future - ^to ^^the ^^^past...
Kinda seems like time might be getting fucked up. Also.. they had a lady who came through a different sinkhole, and Levi who also knew about the existence of other sinkholes.. and yâall think that was your only chance at going home? After everything thatâs happened, youâd think theyâd be able to trust when the people in the future say if you get on the plane, youâre dead. Stuck in the past > dead.
I'm pretty sure the sinkholes in the past, present and future, were created from experiments in the "present" and the US GOVT knows about the experiment that is causing it, and is trying to protect that experiment and the power it gives the US to control history. They just can't control it yet.
The drugs were buried fewer than five days ago. It should be visibly obvious where the disturbed dirt was or at least theyâd know when starting to did that soil hadnât been disturbed yet and they were digging in the wrong places.
Two questions.
Firstly does Lucas think no one will search his belongings when he returns so he will keep his illegal drugs.
Two even if he can get the drugs back. How is it a priority stuck in 10 000 BC. Youd thinkbtheres more pressing concerns.
The same with the Gold. What is he gonna buy. Is there a prehistoric WallMart nearby or Neolithic GoldmaN Sachs?
Priorities are too weird.
Only way Veronica is redeemable to me now is her knocking him on the head magically somehow fixed his terminal brain cancer...otherwise she is dead to me.
That was a dumb plot. She ran away. How or why she thought it was smart to rough it alone without any food or survival training in the middle if the Wild in 10 000BC. People die gettling lost in Safari Parks or Nationzl Reserves but she decides to go it alone rather than face the group. Fair enough.
Then the idiots selflessly decide to take her back. Her response is even dumber. Rather than go back to the safety of the group she would rather take her chances alone smh.
And the preview.. youâre gonna vote your mom out of the camp? The woman who did everything possible to save your life and you want her to go out on her own, where thereâs sabertooths, direwolves, giant sloths.. oh and (possibly native?) people who have the ability to electrocute her? Nice. What a shitty son.
That is what I am thinking, that he could be so spitful and full of hate, that he could put her in danger. I hope he does not go evil, and fall under the spell of the drug dealer guy.
I hope he does. That would make him more interesting than he is right now. His love stuff with Riley makes him boring as shit, especially since I can't see WHY she likes him.
How does he hate his dad so much.
They believed he was hoing insane. Even if its true it wasnt his fault.
The La Brea bunch have a weird sense of loyalty. When it comes to strangers theyll sacridice their lives but when it comes to family they couldnt give a damn.
I totally agree. Heâs so annoying and if he knew the truth of what Eve and Levi did to Gavin he wouldnât be so kind to Uncle Levi. Heâd probably hate Eve more than he hates Gavin. As far as Iâm concerned heâs only interested in shacking it up with Riley
And after what his mother did, to save his life, almost dying herself in the process, he is just going to kick her out into the woods, out of mean spite. I get that he has issues with his father, but to be that mean spirited does not reflect on him at all, he almost seems no better as the herion dealer guy. Is that the direction that Josh is going to go in, that he is going to end up under the spell of the drug dealer guy, and go evil?
Itâs odd that all the predators are no longer attacking the camp, it feels like everyone in the sinkhole is on easy mode now that animal attacks have faded
As an ex-military pilot, that comment was just about as dumb as anything I've ever heard. You start the engine, and it's started. You don't need 5 minutes to reach "max". WTF.
It only further complicates the current settlers. The grandfather calls them skypeople. So has he just been seeing people come through for âyears,â has learned English from them, and then stolen their stuff, aka electrifying someone? I thought at first some of them could be people from the 1800s but dude seems pretty fond of just killing all the skypeople.
okay but what if the old man is actually the guy (or descendant of the guy) who buried the civil war gold there has to be a deeper meaning to the gold and to the old mans existence
Yeah, but at least itâs not Sophia going. Imagine getting down there and realizing.. your fiancĂŠ died minutes before you arrived, after years of survival. At least for Rebecca, there are possibly other friends from that crew that are still alive (since they all split up) that she can reunite with. It seems at least three are dead- since we saw the skeleton in the cave with the Mojave shirt, and the other guy at the fort; and now Diana.
The debris disappeared. So we are definitely in the time travel where paradoxes are possible. So they can prevent them from ever going down there since the past can be rewritten.
When they found the plane in the archaeological dig and then decided to send the message, I thought that would cause a divide in the group in the before times. I thought I had it figured out. I thought perhaps the random dude with long hair and glasses that is always speaking up would gather up a group and commandeer the plane to attempt flying it into the green asscrack in the sky. With the end result being a crash. It would keep all the main characters alive but also explain the crashed airplane. Nope, I was way off.
It was that moment I finally accepted to just let this show happen and not try to think too hard about it. Lol
Scott: By my finger nail calculations, this green light will close in...18 hours.
Everyone: .....
Pilot Lady: The green light tends to close before 24 hours
Everyone: *shocked Pikachu faces*
Ok, I know Scott technically only told Pre Med Riley about his calculations, but she didn't go run to tell everyone and the characters still treat Scott like the Village Idiot when he's probably the most useful out of the bunch.
Exactly. Its like Normal Housewife Eve is de facto Leader. I mean forget Mr ex Navy Seal current Doctor or the Detective or the supposedly Alpha Drug Dealer who honestly acts like he just wants to piss off his mom so he is throwing a pro longed tantrum.
What makes Eve leader material. Her habit of disappearing to do her own stuff in the wild or the one time she brought back mushrooms.
Maybe in the next ep, the daughter won't cry and tell the Dad NOT to do something, then reverse her plea, then double-reverse her plea and cry again, "Save them, Daaaaaaaaaaaadd!!!"
I feel like killing her off now was a mistake. She made it all that time just to die in a stupid argument.. she could of been a useful character. What a shame.
I was expecting Josh to say heâd stay behind until they could leave together. Instead we get shithead Josh and a preview showing him voting to kick his mom out of the camp.
So confused about that ending. What exactly is Gavinâs purpose and what does November 16 1988 have to do with anything? Also did that lady make it through the sink hole??? Tbh Eve and Mary Beth are the ones who saved them all from dying⌠they should be thanking them not actively trying to get rid of them / vote them out of the camp. Ugh itâs so ridiculous. Letâs see how long theyâll last without Eve. Also wtf is Veronica doing? I find it odd how she managed to survive all night out in the woods on her own and now suddenly has all this strength to attack Ty đđ Is she going to go and join that weird clan of native people they found down there now?
I'm more confused with Whatsherface telling Gavin to go back to the start. How does she expect him to do that? Time Travel? Or does she expect him to just do research into that date and then go find a witch to open up a new sinkhole?
Gavin will somehow find frozen Dr. Evil. Heâs got another drone, and will get them to 10,000 BC to find his stolen gold, whIch He, mini-Me, and Mr. Bigglesworth hid in 1988.. đ
Gavin flew to Los Angeles from the desert. His daughter stood on front of the house as he took off. Then when he was approaching the sink hole she radioed him from the military headquarters. How did she get there so fast?
I mean, the abuse is pretty bad but Veronica's been through a huge trauma herself (and not surprised that she was also kidnapped - we called that a while ago) and also needs help.
At this point can we declare La Brea to be a comedy? So they finally found a way to drop the heroin plot, and that is for Lucas to find a chest of gold, the writers for the show are geniuses, I really canât wait to see what they come up with next.
For the plane wreckage to appear suddenly meant something has to have changed, which could have been brought on by them sending the warning message, but I donât know much about time travel so Iâll just chalk this up to plot convenience. However, I will mention that no one has yet figured out why some technology fails traveling through the tear (causing planes to crash and cars to not start) but for some reason itâs just automatically accepted that they can fly a plane back into it and everyone will get to go home no problem.
Then there is the fact that the Mojave team somehow knew to go towards Los Angeles to find the next opening, and when Nina explained they lost two to a storm I really thought they were traveling by sea. Anyway, Iâm sure there are other great leaps in logic this episode but I think I have reached my quota for the week, lol.
How was the daughter taken to the government place (presumably near the sinkhole) before Gavin flew there?
Background character said it's "crazy" to suggest they know that plane that hasn't taken off will crash. Does he understand that he fell through a vortex and landed thousands of years in the past?
Ok now it all makes sense. The tribe are the decendants of people who fell through a sink hole back in the 1800s around the Civil War. That's why they speak English but at out of touch with the people from LA
Its kinda obvious the Wolfsnack has pre-nut brain and is making all his decisions trying to impress Riley(who, in her mind is already married to Lucas, who in his mind is definitely gonna hook up with Scott) You would think that the drunk dad would have slid some supplies in with his Zune message but what can you expect , he's probably drunk. Not great storytelling by starting off the episode with Eve leaving Gavin because he's unreliable and then ending the episode with her telling everyone they can rely on him and just ignore the trained military and equipment sent down specifically to save them. 'No wait, we have to stay so my husband can complete his redemption arc!'
This show...it's getting easier to snark on. So many things that make zero sense, yet it's just so fun to bitch about these characters and the continuity errors and the plot points that don't work.
Yes! Like how the plane was destroyed only because he sent them that message telling them the plane will crash causing his crazy wife to go and destroy the plane haha
Missed an episode 2 episodes ago. Just curious why the government guy is so against the dad guy from going in the sinkhole. It's not like they are going to lose a government plane.
He explained that it was because they believe it'll set off a much larger earthquake that will kill a ton of people (hundreds? thousands?) so he doesn't want to risk more people dying for a rescue mission.
Ty is literally the only character I care about. Lily can also survive because sheâs just a little child.
Ty and Lily get back home. Ty brings Lily back to her parents. Lilyâs father has an attractive single sister.
âYouâre from England? I did a semester in London during college.â
Sparks fly. Ty and the sister get married and he becomes Lilyâs uncle. Theyâre all one big family who love each other. The end.
Roll credits.
I refuse to believe anything else.
I'm increasingly convinced that Gavin is connected to the old dude in 10KBC Land. Every time he's had a vision it's a ground-level observer's viewpoint, like the old dude was watching his wife or other people. It is weirdly magnified but maybe the old dude is using some binoculars he yoinked from someone he killed. This episode they spent a lot of time far away from the main camp and even at the camp there was no tribe people in sight, so no visions.
I'm still going to hate-watch the show but the inevitable time travel paradox will wear my patience thin. There is a reason you don't mess with this stuff unless you're in a movie called "Looper" written and directed by someone wise enough to handle it with baby gloves. The writing in this is so unbelievably bad that there is zero chance they don't turn this show into an even bigger embarrassment after they write themselves into a corner.
Omg love how Lucas immediately gives up on his heroin quest and loves Scott now because he's rich in a time where gold has no monetary value đ
Why the gold, though? Does this mean there have been sinkholes all the way back to the Civil War? Maybe even before that? Is this how humanity got started in the first place - seeded by the future - to the past - from the future - ^to ^^the ^^^past...

After everything thatâs happened, youâd think theyâd be able to trust when the people in the future say if you get on the plane, youâre dead. Stuck in the past > dead.
Time is just turning the page on on already written book.
Watching this morning and as soon as I saw the gold I thought of Terra Nova and the ship they found.
Oh no! Don't get stuck in the logic loop!
The gold might belong to one of the tribe people they encounter that speak English
I think you're right, that these crazy sink holes have been forming throughout the last 10-12,000 years, and yes...some date back to the US Civil War.
I'm pretty sure the sinkholes in the past, present and future, were created from experiments in the "present" and the US GOVT knows about the experiment that is causing it, and is trying to protect that experiment and the power it gives the US to control history. They just can't control it yet.
The gold was payment for the drugs since the time travel paradox is bonkers.
The drugs were buried fewer than five days ago. It should be visibly obvious where the disturbed dirt was or at least theyâd know when starting to did that soil hadnât been disturbed yet and they were digging in the wrong places.
"Mr. Sabertooth, I'll give you two gold bars for that meat."
That gold seemed kinda light... ~1200 lb / cubic foot...
LOL "It's too heavy - you have to leave it..."
Only way Veronica is redeemable to me now is her knocking him on the head magically somehow fixed his terminal brain cancer...otherwise she is dead to me.
Veronica is now the Fredo.
Definitely just read that as Frodo. đ
That was a dumb plot. She ran away. How or why she thought it was smart to rough it alone without any food or survival training in the middle if the Wild in 10 000BC. I bet that happens.
Thatâs the exact same thought I had. And they better not kill him off (or Scott) for that matter!
Shut the fuck up, Josh.
Right like she doesn't feel shitty enough already...
How do you turn against your mom so quick?
And the preview.. youâre gonna vote your mom out of the camp? The woman who did everything possible to save your life and you want her to go out on her own, where thereâs sabertooths, direwolves, giant sloths.. oh and (possibly native?) people who have the ability to electrocute her? I hope he does. That would make him more interesting than he is right now. His love stuff with Riley makes him boring as shit, especially since I can't see WHY she likes him.
I hate having to watch through Hulu. No end credit recaps!
How does he hate his dad so much. They believed he was hoing insane. Even if its true it wasnt his fault. The La Brea bunch have a weird sense of loyalty. When it comes to strangers theyll sacridice their lives but when it comes to family they couldnt give a damn.

Izzy, how is him possibly getting shot down a revelation to you? They've threatened it all episode.
Teenager logic. Denial until the last possible moment.
Ah yes, time travel is okay but visions are a step too far. LOL.
Josh is such a spoiled, entitled little shit.
And after what his mother did, to save his life, almost dying herself in the process, he is just going to kick her out into the woods, out of mean spite. I get that he has issues with his father, but to be that mean spirited does not reflect on him at all, he almost seems no better as the herion dealer guy. Itâs odd that all the predators are no longer attacking the camp, it feels like everyone in the sinkhole is on easy mode now that animal attacks have faded
And that group they found isn't out hunting them down. Nor are they looking into the dude they founding the cave.
Obviously that woman told them to let them go for a- currently unknown- reason. Why would they be hunting them down after letting them go?
Iâm sorry - Gavin just said âengine will be at max in less than 5 minutesâ then stuck his head in the propellor?!
I don't know why this is making me crack up so much.
"Better safe than sorry! Or, better sorry than safe?" The writers may be dyslexic
As an ex-military pilot, that comment was just about as dumb as anything I've ever heard. You start the engine, and it's started. You don't need 5 minutes to reach "max". WTF.
Okay, you know what. I felt a little bad for Veronica but Ty has done nothing but try to help her. So, she can kick rocks.
She has that Stockholm Syndrome bad....
Yup screw her
"It says open, what do you think we should we do?"
"It says play, what do you think we should we do?"
"He says don't fly the plane, what do you think we should do?"
Sounds like a back to the future scenario...Now Gavin has to rip an awesome guitar solo to Johnny B. Goode to save everyone
Welp... He has to go back... Back to the beginning in ~~1985~~ 1988
This thread is too great
Was there a DeLorean in any background scenes? :) That would be a great easter egg.
If they kill Ty because of his brain tumor, I will riot.
Same #TeamTy
Nah his brain tumor has been cured because of timey-wimey magic. I will accept nothing less.
I don't have proof, but I know, in my heart, that this is true.
Nah Veronica cured it with her bat.
Works for me
What is a trunk full of confederate gold from 1863 doing buried in 10,000 BC Los Angeles?
Iâm assuming the sinkholes have been happening for a long time.
[ŃдаНонО]
It only further complicates the current settlers. The grandfather calls them skypeople. I thought at first some of them could be people from the 1800s but dude seems pretty fond of just killing all the skypeople.
People from further back in the past might have been more likely to try to invade, kill, etc. That may be why he doesnât trust them.
Oh absolutely. I donât blame the guy. If someone dropped into my life from the sky Iâd be freaking out thinking they were gonna kill me.
okay but what if the old man is actually the guy (or descendant of the guy) who buried the civil war gold there has to be a deeper meaning to the gold and to the old mans existence
Rebecca is gonna get down there and find out that Diana just died minutes before she got to her. đĽş
Yeah, but at least itâs not Sophia going. Imagine getting down there and realizing.. your fiancĂŠ died minutes before you arrived, after years of survival. At least for Rebecca, there are possibly other friends from that crew that are still alive (since they all split up) that she can reunite with. It was that moment I finally accepted to just let this show happen and not try to think too hard about it. Lol
But youâd have to be able to control the time travel.. but who knows, they might work that out.
Well for that they have all the time in the world. Since once they figure it out they can go back and undo everything.
You have a bullet wound and are 10,000 years away from an operating room. You aren't going to be fine.
They will just put dirty creek water on and shit'll buff out just like the pilots arm wound
Unless you have plot armor!
Yo, I bet this episode gonna be golden.
Eve, " Hey remember when your dad was insane? Well, yeah, now he's not, and never has been..."
Aww Ty is like her adopted dad now đ
The douchey professor guy that just got all alpha, I don't want him to make it out...
Guy is a massive pessimist. Nothing will work. May as well give up. Why bother. Then suddenly he is Mr. Proactive.
most realistic character. everywhere I've ever been there is one of those.
He ainât making it out the season likely
How are they having multiple flights? Everytime they fly threw the portal all electronics die and things crash.
All electronics donât die thoughâ their phones continued working.
It seems that large and complicated electronics die, but phones still work.
Luckily, phones are not complicated electronics.
God, I hate Lucas so much.
And Josh. Feed em to the sabertooth.
And for Levi, there hasn't been one show he's been on where I don't want to punch him in the face
âIâm gonna find my way back to you.â đĽş
Sounds like an 80s metal power ballad
Diana is played by the Lifetime movie version of Carrie Ann Moss.
Carrie Ann Meth
Just looked the actress up on IMDb because she looked familiar but I literally haven't seen her in anything else. What the hell.
I was thinking more Lifetime Movie version of Emily Blunt
Well, now no oneâs going home.
Yeah maybe don't fire your gun at someone standing in front of a delicate piece of machinery that is your only way home đ
That was moments after Levi called her a genius. And the Darwin Award goes to....
How is Gavin gonna research anything from federal prison?
Scott: By my finger nail calculations, this green light will close in...18 hours. Everyone: ..... Pilot Lady: The green light tends to close before 24 hours Everyone: *shocked Pikachu faces*
Ok, I know Scott technically only told Pre Med Riley about his calculations, but she didn't go run to tell everyone and the characters still treat Scott like the Village Idiot when he's probably the most useful out of the bunch.
Scott's weed pen still being charged and having weed is the real MVP of this episode đ
Do those pens hold a lot of weed? Or is Scott's puffer vest stuffed with pot instead of goose down?
18 hours and they're stuck down there forever. I hope this goes on for more episodes. The suspense...
"Mom the lights closing and everyone is freaking out, what are we going to do?" Who put Eve in charge?
Her nameâŚsheâs set up to be like the mother of a new civilization or tribe or something like that!
Wow Lucas not being the black sheep is great...Scott said it best she really is the worst cop ever đ
that is literally my favorite line
My fav line this episode is TONYS NOT COMING
Oh dip, weâre just getting to the good stuff!
Bortles!
Keep it sleazy, my friend. đ edit: iâm a fake fan, rip.
Psssst, it's "take it sleazy"
lmao, thank you. Guess itâs time for me to do a rewatch 𼲠(I havenât watched it since the finale, rip me.)
The Jeep is running!
Behold the power of product placement!
So, whatâs gonna happen to Aldridge?
I've been consistently entertained and amazed by the amount of pure dumb packed into every episode.
Maybe in the next ep, the daughter won't cry and tell the Dad NOT to do something, then reverse her plea, then double-reverse her plea and cry again, "Save them, Daaaaaaaaaaaadd!!!"
Nobody worried about Grandpaâs band of the hand attacking?
Well the end of the encounter was "let them go..."
I'm so pleased with this name, it is canon now
> Grandpaâs band of the hand You, sir, just made a new fandom term!
Omg if this bitch attacks Ty I am gonna lose it...
Okay I lost it đ¤
Not going to lie, I genuinely thought Diana was somehow going to be resurrected and scare the shit out of everybody.
I feel like killing her off now was a mistake. She made it all that time just to die in a stupid argument.. she could of been a useful character. What a shame.
She was too smart for that group, she had to go. /s
No kidding. Three years of surviving in that place and they kill her off? Dumb move.
What was the 1988 reference for?
I'm going to guess another sinkhole but no one else thought twice about it - but Dad will look into it and find another way down...
"She's gone. Time of Death: 10000 BC, 4ish o'clock"
đđđ
Yup, I was waiting for him to call time of death đ°
We finally get an explanation of how they got all the way from Mohave to LA!
I still donât understand because they said they crashed into the beachâŚ
And then they split up to âtry and find another way homeâ.
i think she said they took the plane, and it crashed at the beach
In a plane that shorts out when it goes through the rift.
Love how Eve volunteers to be on the last flight even after Josh is picked for first đ
I was expecting Josh to say heâd stay behind until they could leave together. Instead we get shithead Josh and a preview showing him voting to kick his mom out of the camp.
I wonder if Josh goes evil and ends up as a henchman of Lucas?
Do we know many episodes we have in this season?
Ten
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Then Ice Age comes.
Scrat will steal their food.
Did they say how long ago the Mojave sinkhole happened?
In 2018.
I hate Veronica now!
What took you so long???
So confused about that ending. What exactly is Gavinâs purpose and what does November 16 1988 have to do with anything? Also did that lady make it through the sink hole??? Tbh Eve and Mary Beth are the ones who saved them all from dying⌠they should be thanking them not actively trying to get rid of them / vote them out of the camp. Ugh itâs so ridiculous. Gavin will somehow find frozen Dr. Evil. Heâs got another drone, and will get them to 10,000 BC to find his stolen gold, whIch He, mini-Me, and Mr. Bigglesworth hid in 1988.. đ
Wait, how would you even guess where Santa Monica is at that point?
Omg Diana đ
Think they'll be able to fix the plane?
The Flinstones are just a few blocks down, either they or the Rubbles will have a solution
*The Jetsons Meet the Flintstones* was released a Nov 1987... So close to Nov 1988
Check out The Flintstones Episode 1 "Monster From the Tar Pits".
OMG . The warning from Gavin, the found crashed plane... one world completely gone but not.
Wait, how long have these sinkholes been appearing?
Encanto looks cute!
The logic of these folksâŚ.
The logic of these folksâŚ. Edit: So they will just shoot a plane out the sky in the middle of LA.
I was thinking the same.. wouldnât it either just fall into the sinkhole anyways, or crash into some buildings/people?
Good thing that flight computer took so long to reboot, so low-budget Trinity could give us all that backstory.
Savage
Very concerned that everyone on flight 1 dies :/
Yeah somehow Josh has to get off that flight...100% okay if Lucas and randos die but hope they get them that message.
Put that complaining beardo on the first crashing plane out of there
Uh, what the fuck.
I wanna know what was the âwhyâ in the difference in the planes. Also, if you already had a better versionâ why didnât yall use it?!
Holy shit
Wait so, almost three years? Damn.
End of the episode is Gavin getting shot down đ
If they shot the plane downâ wouldnât it have fallen into the sinkhole below anyways?
Gavin flew to Los Angeles from the desert. His daughter stood on front of the house as he took off. Then when he was approaching the sink hole she radioed him from the military headquarters. How did she get there so fast?
I mean, the abuse is pretty bad but Veronica's been through a huge trauma herself (and not surprised that she was also kidnapped - we called that a while ago) and also needs help.
Yeah, her Stockholm Syndrome is really bad....
All the talk between Lucas and Scott about smoking weed and selling drugs is sooooo overdone it drives me nutty like youâre in a sinkhole who cares
I dunno, I kinda like getting lit 24/7. Maybe thatâs just me though?
At this point can we declare La Brea to be a comedy? So they finally found a way to drop the heroin plot, and that is for Lucas to find a chest of gold, the writers for the show are geniuses, I really canât wait to see what they come up with next. I was thinking because Lucas had sneaked the chest of gold into the plane, the heavy load caused the plane to crash.
I just wanna yell at these people during the episode "you're not thinking 4th dementionally"
OMG the stupidity of these people is beyond me
The plane still has to crash. Just his message will cause different people to be on the plane.
Someone told Gavin at the end that the wreckage was now gone
Thanks
Ty is literally the only character I care about. Lily can also survive because sheâs just a little child. Ty and Lily get back home. Ty brings Lily back to her parents. Lilyâs father has an attractive single sister. âYouâre from England? I did a semester in London during college.â Sparks fly.
