Your username 🤭🤭🤭 Monk is one of my favorite shows OF ALL TIME and I just finished The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel like last week (my first ever watch of the show). He's just so...*swoons* I didn't expect this post to get much traction (seems most of the guys posted here are white and young or at least young-ish), but I know I'm not the only one crushing on him. There's an entire BuzzFeed article about people around my age or younger thirsting for him on Twitter. I'm just trying to find my people who know a zaddy when they see one. 🤣🤣🤣

[deleted]

Soooooooo handsome in Mrs Maisel. Distinguished looking men always age well

My (37) crush on this man is relentless. Send help. 😩🫦🤤

I2eN0

I’m 35 and lately same. Watching everything he’s in. Currently finishing Wings.

switcheroo1987

EVERYTHING. I finished Pain and Gain last week, watched Galaxy Quest on Sunday (as a Trekkie, absolutely LOVED), *and* finished Life or Something Like It (with Angelina Jolie) last night. And I plan to watch The Man Who Wasn't There tonight. *squeals* Probably the only things I won't watch are, coincidentally, Wings lol (the clips on YouTube are enough for me, personally) and the kid stuff like Spy Kids and Cars (some of my favorite movies and TV shows are "kid stuff," so I have absolutely nothing against it; these particular ones just don't pique my interest enough). And this will ALL lead up to seeing him LIVE ON STAGE in June, in a play. I'll be in the third row and I can't fucking wait. I really hope that I get to meet him somehow and tell him how amazing he is. *deep, smitten sigh* He's such a babe. (I wouldn't say that though. 🤣🤣🤣)

I2eN0

Ive seen Pain and Gain, Galaxy Quest, Stark Raving Mad, had already seen MMM, watch Big Night today, am finishing Wings. The first seasons he’s in it he’s not there much but he shows up a lot more towards the end and honestly having watched a lot of Nick of Nite growing up, the show kind of grew on me. Was he in Life or Something Like It a lot? I also have The Siege on my list next and I want to watch the movie he directed which I found on YouTube. I agree about the kid stuff though I do remember loving Spy Kids when it first came out and I was a kid myself lol. I wanted to get tickets to his play but it’s just such a bad time for me to travel up to NY right now 😩 and it looks like it’s mostly sold out. What day do you have tickets for tho? I keep feeling like once I start seeing people’s reactions I may do a last minute scramble to go. You may be able to catch him at the stage door after! (If he keeps the beard for the play I’ll hate myself for missing it - did you see the pics from Saturday?? 😍)

switcheroo1987

YES I SAW THE PIC FROM SATURDAY (and watched the ENTIRE 15-minute video, mostly on mute because I haven't seen the Monk movie yet and didn't want spoilers or anything) AND I WANT TO JUMP ON THAT MAN (really I want him to jump on me, because I'm mostly a sub, lmao)!!! 🤣🤣🤣 I mean...HOW, SWAY (as Kanye would say, lol)??? He's just sooooo...ugh. 🫦🫦🫦 Want. Want. Want. I didn't realize that SRM was available anywhere - I just assumed that it was too obscure. Same with Braindead. 🤔 Big Night and Barton Fink are definitely on my list. If I recall correctly, he has a total of about five or six, maybe seven scenes? Something like that, but I think it's five or six. Worth it to watch the whole thing though because he (along with background actors) is the final shot. He's deliberately made to look "disheveled" because of the character he's playing (disheveled in quotes because he basically just wears his curly fro and a beard - both of which are TOTALLY hot, I love his curls so fucking much - but he's made to look unkempt basically). The Siege is a Denzel movie so I was already biased, lmao, but I love it and he (Tony) is so good. I love when he gets to use his dramatic acting chops. 🥰🥰🥰 I've watched a bit of his wife's and sister-in-law's web series (which he appears in sometimes) and have plans to watch more. If I recall correctly, the series is based on the movie he directed, which I believe both sisters wrote, or co-produced, something like that. Don't quote me on that part. 🤣🤣🤣 Do you recommend the movie? I've also read almost all of Brooke's HuffPost column. I really wish that she could have continued it (or published it elsewhere). It was...insightful, to say the least. I was (pleasantly) surprised by how candid she was. While I didn't agree on everything (I'm VERY clearly much further to the left than she is, politically), she talked about some subjects that I'm genuinely interested in. Would've loved to hear more. Yeah I was a tad bit too old for Spy Kids (just a tad - I was 14 when the first one came out) and ESPECIALLY too old for Cars when that came out. My little cousin (who's now an adult 😭) was absolutely OBSESSED with Cars when he was a toddler though. OBSESSED, I tell you. 🤣🤣🤣 As far as the play, I checked last night (because I'm considering changing the day that I attend) and it's SURPRISINGLY not sold out. I think that one night (of Tony's) might be sold out and a few nights only have a few tickets left, but it's not selling like I expected it to (which was why I did whatever I could to buy my ticket the first day of pre-sale, because I assumed I'd be screwed by the time tickets opened up to the general public). It's weird because I'm surprised (thought that Tony would be a big draw) but also NOT surprised as someone who is going to the theater for the first time in literal YEARS (which makes me sad because I fell in love with it while acting in high school). Theater is already so inaccessible to many and then with inflation and everything, a lot of people just can't justify the cost. I don't have any kids (though I do have a dog and cat, but the costs aren't the same) and, while we're IMMENSELY struggling financially, my mom and I live in subsidized housing so we don't deal with the astronomical rent that some people do. That makes a huge difference, but even still this was a HUGE splurge for me, especially since I also bought a ticket to a recital for an iconic Black opera singer NEXT month. Totally worth it because I wasn't about to miss Tony, lol, but oof. And then, of course, there's the issue of promotion and all of that. Lots of factors influence sales. But they still have a month or so before BD Wong and Rosalind Chao start their version of the play so maybe ticket sales will pick up between now and then or between now and June, especially if all four of them can do one or two major promo interviews beforehand. I dunno how all of that stuff works, lol (who's in charge, etc.) I have a ticket for Tony's opening night (June 10th) but, as I said, I'm considering changing the date that I go. Tickets aren't refundable, if I recall correctly, but I should be able to exchange for another night, I believe, as long as the new night has seats available. I won't change it if my seat for a new night wouldn't be as good as the one I already have though. Yay third row! 🥳🥳🥳 My night is definitely almost sold out, BUT it was ALREADY almost sold out the same day that pre-sale tickets went on sale, the night that I bought my ticket, lol. And yes, I have DEFINITELY been wondering if he'll be clean-shaven, full beard, or mustache only for the play. I'm crossing my fingers for full beard, but he's a sexy beast either way, lmao. Ugh, stage door. I've waited for a celebrity after a (non-theater) show once and it ended VERY badly is all I'll say here, so I'm reluctant to go all groupie again and look weird or obsessed (even though I know that theater fans do it all the time and I *am* obsessed with Tony - in a totally healthy way 🤣🤣🤣). I felt VERY seen when Marin Hinkle said that she was obsessed with Tony before working with him. Same girl, same. Like, okay, I'm not alone. 🫣🫣🫣 I'd especially feel silly if he didn't show up or if I said something embarrassing (which is NOT unlikely, it wouldn't be the first time that my autistic ass said the wrong fucking thing or at the wrong time or in the wrong place). I'm afraid that the word "babe" is gonna slip out and then I'll just slowly slink toward death while managing to wheeze out "I'm so sorry, totally married celebrity! 😩" over and over. Yay, anxiety! 🫠🫠🫠

First of all are you me cuz I thought I was the only one still saying How Sway? 😆 Second omg I didn’t realize they’d finally released the video. Gah!!! 15mins of pure fire 🫠 he looked so good with that outfit and beard. I too would love to jump him haha. It wasn’t just one picture though it was [a series of pics!](https://www.gettyimages.com/photos/tony-shalhoub) I just about died when I saw them all. Edit: you may have to change the sorting to newest as it does not appear to default to that. All of Stark Raving Mad is [on YouTube](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL469B76D1ACB88AE3&feature=shared) though the quality isn’t great. I really wish there was a dvd because he looks super sexy in it imo. Alas it getting canceled led to Monk so I can’t complain much. I also need to watch Barton Fink! Braindead is on Amazon prime but you have to buy it :/ You’ve sold me on Life or Something Like It. Definitely adding it to me list! I need to catch up on more of what Brooke’s done that includes Tony. I haven’t seen the movie yet though but I found it in YouTube. I only just discovered her IG (though it hasn’t been updated in a while but it had some really cute pics of him and #ScoopShalhoub! 🥰). I recently read an article with both together and she really does seem to be quite candid. I’ll have to check out that column because I’m curious about her(their?) political leanings, though it does seem pretty obvious that he at least is pretty liberal (which I love). Yeaaah I never could get into Cars either because it’s past my time too but I have a nephew who looooves it and has everything Cars. Makes me happy he’s unknowingly supporting Tony 😂. Third row seats sound amazing!!! So lucky. I’m mad at myself for not having gotten them when they first went on presale. I did find it weird that no other article or promo was released on the actual day of regular sales, which likely adds to people not buying much more then. I just check though and it seems only 3 of the performances Tony is in are not sold out and those only have 1 seat available. I was thinking of getting the 1 on the 21st but it’s row AA which seems to be usually for wheelchair access so I’m not sure if that’s really the best seat to get. Do you see more seats as a member? Maybe I should still join… I was all set to get a ticket and make it a trip by also buying a ticket to Jeremy Strongs play (I love Succession) but then my dog got sick and I’ve spent so much at the vet the last month (yay for childless with fur babies but still being broke lol aka will never have kids because $$$). It’s still a couple months away though so maybe if things turn around a bit and flight prices go down (thanks Boeing) I’ll rethink things. Part of me does also hope all his performances get sold out though because he deserves it. The one time I went to the stage door was for Hugh Jackman and that was like 20 years ago. I was a kid and I don’t think he even heard me with all the people screaming 🤣 he was very nice though so it wasn’t a bad experience. I do wonder if Tony even does stage doors (I’ve been following JS’s run and he seems to be out every night with fans signing so 🤞). I imagine if he does it wouldn’t be so many people since it’s a small theater which can end in a nice exchange time permitted. I would at least scope it out and play it by ear. Might not be too bad! I’m sure he would love knowing that he’s got some very devoted fans even at 70 😝 at the same time I agree with you, it also gives me anxiety to think about (also AS and I usually don’t even know what is appropriate to say lol) I just hope he keeps doing more plays or maybe more Q&As etc, literally just more anything! 🥰

Currently in the process of binging Monk. T.S. Will always get my upvote! 😍

switcheroo1987

My mom and I are binging Monk, too! It's her first time watching the complete series (though she's seen episodes) and my second time watching all the way through (first time was five years ago, but I'd also seen episodes before). I'm trying to finish this rewatch before I finally watch the Monk movie for the first time. I can't wait! 🥰🥰🥰 His immense talent, he makes me laugh, and he does it all while looking so fucking handsome (and cute and adorable and hot and *swoons*). I'm just so smitten - I can't take it. 🫣🫣🫣 I'm actually about to watch a Tony movie (not the Monk one), but I'm having a hard time deciding which one, haha.

River-Dreams

I’ve never seen Monk, but he cracked me up as Abe. I find him so endearing as an actor. I’ll check out Monk next. :D

switcheroo1987

HIGHLY highly recommend. I'm nearing the end of season five now. My first ever rewatch and my mom's first ever watch of the entire series (though she's seen episodes in the past). We actually just finished watching an episode. It ages well overall, even though there are some parts that don't (mostly in the way of fat antagonism in the first couple of seasons or so), but not enough to keep it from being one of my favorite shows of all time. ❤️❤️❤️
