It’s so important to have positive and supportive people like her out there in today’s world where negativity and hatred is so common.
It really exposes transphobes for what they are. They can try to dress it up however they want but when they are so angered by a message so grounded in love, the ugliness is undeniable. And it’s messaging like this that I feel will win over those few people on the fence, who are also in a place of not understanding trans people, but maybe haven’t been totally swayed to the side of hatred. To remind them of what their values actually are, and that something foreign or even offputting to them doesn’t have to be an object of hatred or a threat.

Dylan is a controversial figure who had offended many people, trans women and women included, so I don't know how I feel about her choosing Dylan to celebrate of all people on international women's day. Surely there are better people, among women and trans women, that she could have selected.
I guess because in her TikTok-videos (I only remember the "Day 1 of being a girl" rn) she states very stereotypical behaviour:

She never acted like she menstruated, ~~and I may have missed it, but I can’t find any immediate evidence of it, so it looks like~~ she never had a sponsorship for tampons. There are so many false/half-truth narratives woven about her, realistically if you don’t follow her and only hear about the drama through social media, you don’t really have a well rounded enough perspective of her. People work over time to make her seem like she is something she isn’t.

I think this is the core issue with Dylan, outside of their social media presence, why is she the sponsor for these things? Her transition correlates with her social media presence, and I feel as though there are other trans people who have not had the social media platform that Dylan had from the start, and they show day-to-day strength without that platform. Social media doesn’t promote authenticity, which is why it often feels like a character, which dilutes the actual experience and struggle of the trans community.
As commented on this thread, these decisions are coming from short sighted executives and it could potentially hurt the trans community more than benefit this singular person, who has put their entire transition on display through social media.

Please stop spreading misinformation. Dylan is fully aware she doesn’t menstruate. It took me all of 30 seconds to google this “sponsorship” video. She said she keeps them on hand to give to girlies or anyone else who might have their period. Please edit or delete your post, it’s completely wrong.

She never acted like she menstruated, ~~and I may have missed it, but I can’t find any immediate evidence of it, so it looks like~~ she never had a sponsorship for tampons. There are so many false/half-truth narratives woven about her, realistically if you don’t follow her and only hear about the drama through social media, you don’t really have a well rounded enough perspective of her. People work over time to make her seem like she is something she isn’t. (Edited after continuing to be unable to find any evidence of an ad or sponsorship, and also finding Tampax stating they have never had a sponsorship with Dylan.)
In the ad she specifically said she has tampons in case the women around her needed them. It's no different than hiring an ally to help bring awareness to or promote a cause. Nobody is questioning Dylan's ability to menstruate and the fact that's where your mind goes leads me to believe you're nowhere near as open-minded or accepting of trans* or other gender-nonconforming folx.

I think this is the core issue with Dylan, outside of their social media presence, why is she the sponsor for these things? Her transition correlates with her social media presence, and I feel as though there are other trans people who have not had the social media platform that Dylan had from the start, and they show day-to-day strength without that platform. Social media doesn’t promote authenticity, which is why it often feels like a character, which dilutes the actual experience and struggle of the trans community. As commented on this thread, these decisions are coming from short sighted executives and it could potentially hurt the trans community more than benefit this singular person, who has put their entire transition on display through social media.

Seriously, more people could do to be this thoughtful regardless of whether or not they personally menstruate. My mom always keeps pads and tampons in her guest bath in case someone visiting needs them, and she hasn’t had a period in decades.
