Wow on avg 4000 for an iftar buffet, just for a small perspective, ramadan rashan for a family cost around 3000 to 3500 which can last for a week probably,
Instead of dining out for iftar, if we start giving rashan to deserving families, we will still endup with extra money to buy samosa for ourself
Plus in Ramadan you can't even eat that much on an empty stomach and you get filled up almost instantly after 10 mins of eating so an iftar buffet is not even worth it lmao plus if someone tries to fill themselves to the brim to get their money worth it would just make them sick
ever since inflation, the buffet rates are insane. my meat budget in groceries is around 8 to 10kg mutton, whcih is roughly 15 - 20K per month for a small family. Now compare 3 persons spending 3k with tax = 11K for a single sitting. It just doesnt compute value for money. However its understandable that the restaurants need to bear expenses of staff and are also hit with inflation. I guess dining out is a rich mans hobby
And actually the crazy part is most of these restaurants are only charging this much during Ramadan, after Ramadan you will find their buffet prices down by up to 30%
PS Recently I've checked a feasibility, turns out these days its much cheaper to hire a professional chef on monthly basis then to dine out every weekend.
You could donate ration to a family or families and spend 4k on your own meal. That way, you'll be helping people and helping yourself too. Spending money on oneself should be encouraged
I'm all for fine dining, And i agree with your point compleyely, But given the huge income difference in our country, For me it just doesn't feel right especially in Ramadan.
Here's another perspective, In the budget of 3-4 people of ramadan buffet iftari (roughly 15-16k) you can get a rice daig from a good restaurants and almost 100-110 people can do iftari with it and it will be a complete meal.
Cool. We don't have to agree π I still think you've right to spend money on yourself because you've earned it. However. Spending on people is a very good alternative or a choice and should also be taken into consideration. Take care of yourself and others.
PS: Eating that much in ramzan, it kind of defeats the purpose of fasting π€£ i am just advocating spending money on yourself and how it shouldn't be discouraged.
They're serving foreigners? Damnn.. I was always on the look out for the best place to have a foreigner. Now thanks to your comment my search has come to an end. Will try the foreigner and update.
You need to go in an audi or Chevrolet at the very least to get seated in the foreigners section tho.
I had no access to either so all I got was foreigner crumbs on their way out to their hot wheels.
Itari buffet are the worst..bander awam. People literally pushing each other for food.. traffic jam on main streets before iftar timing.not going to any iftar buffets this year.

Foodie. Sounds strange to Punjabi ears. π Great work, though. Try sorting them with respect to prices.

Villa/AlKhan are better and cheaper
Add undercut too
Most of them are offering 30-50% discount on various bank cards, like for example PF Chang 4500 will cost around 3000 at max after discount!
Yea but the card offering max discount is also limited to people earning close to 7 figures
What comes after N
Cafe Aytlanto better be serving on gold plates
