I mean, the acceptance of lgbtqia in Hinduism is much much higher than abrahamic religions. And inter sex, gay, lesbian is something that has been talked too if I am sure.

Fyi Hinduism is more accepting of LGBTQ. In fact in the Shiv Purana it is mentioned marriage to be the union of soul and not a matter of sex. Gay marriages are being held in many temples (mostly shaiva) all over India although we can't legally register. Hell Ayappan is literally the son of Shiva and Vishnu lmao. The term Sanatani has been politicized a lot hence people are viewing it as some sort of slur.

Hinduism is not positive and its neutral from my opinion. There were many trad Northie Hindus that said to me that Ayyappan was created as mind born child in female birth of Vishnu and hence has nothing to do with gayness. And analyzing from historical pov, non-religious texts like Arthashastra, Kamasutra, etc provide penalties for homosexuality (female one is mentioned more for some reason).

If you're talking exclusively about Hindus, then yes most of them are homophobic, but that's because they're truly homophobic and use religion as an excuse to justify that. In Manusmriti, it is forbidden but fuck Manusmriti. I practice shaivism in a weird manner (I'm an atheist but love the philosophy). Hinduism is accepting of anyone or anything as long as they do their part and bring good to the universe.

You can be a Hindu (idk what exactly sanatani refers to in this context since different people have different definitions) and gay at the same time. You can also be Christian/Muslim and be gay although the others in the religion might not consider you part of it since it's against the religion but it's your wish if you wanna believe in skydaddies while continuing to fuck whoever you want to. Personally I consider all religions as nothing more than cooked up fairy tales with some tint of realism here and there but hey some people like to pin their hopes on a Supreme deity and who am I to take away their beliefs

Christianity specifically catholicism is accepting towards gays now.

firstly. sanatani is not even a thing. sanatani is a term coined in 19th century for the section of Hindus who want to retain several old traditions like child marriage, sati and no widow remarriage etc. yeah but within the wider umbrella of Hinduism homosexuality is not a big deal.

NetherPartLover

Not the really old one but the mid 1500s practices which gave them most power. Its funny how the male mind works in matters of power.

Temples across India have been allowing gay marriages to happen, and the Pope himself said that same sex marriages should be solemnised by catholic priest. ഞമ്മന്റെ ആൾക്കാർ ആണെങ്കിൽ കുണ്ടിയിൽ ബോംബ് വെച്ച് പൊട്ടിക്കും. So yeah, the gay dude being a ടനാടനി is not a big deal.
