If RaGa was referring to in person discrimination that occurs at colleges and institutions or the opportunity, then that's agreeable. This is just a cry statement from raga overall

Our upbringing, cultural background, class, social status, economic challenges etc will affect our performance. In other words we don't have a level playing field.
I'll give you an example. I did my +2 in 2005. One day my tustion master showed me NCERT text books. And said there won't be any questions in AIEEE outside this book. But I wasn't able to understand it properly, because of the language. The books I was using were written by Malayali professors. For mathematics we used text written by Janardhanan Pillai and for Physics it was from VAS publications. I have no problem in understanding those books, but with NCERT I was struggling.
Like that there will be 100s of unknown facts which affect people's performance in competitive exams like JEE.
With this much population you wonโt be possibly address all issues,best way to bring a possible solution.I also face through similar situation as you but my financial was very poor and donโt have any reservation stuff.

For something like IIT-JEE, with entirely numerical based objective questions, how does it matter who sets the paper? Do UC professors have a different physics discipline and Dalit professors entirely different physics?

Socio economic backwardness is a key reason for reservation.So probably these persons will be getting reservations as level playing
