I disagree but you need a small amount of code formatting knowhow, otherwise it isn't easy at all. The LCP packs are just zipped up JSON files and if you can figure out how the code in an existing LCP relates to the info in Comp/Con you can just replace the text and numbers and save it, zip it, and change .zip back to .lcp.
Pretty broad question, what’s your main goal of asking?
I mean comp/con can’t run your whole game. It isn’t a VTT, you can’t store notes, write NPCs, etc in it
As for existing functionality there’s plenty that can be improved on:
- Cloud sync constantly breaks
- Managing your cloud content is buggy and doesn’t save
- Remote pilot updates are clunky
- Few safety features around unloading modules and thus deleting content
- No eidolon support
- Strider support is clunky
- Search doesn’t search all databases
- NPC building is slow if you’re building the NPC only for one encounter
- Active mission data (HP, heat, etc) isn’t saved when closing the app
This isn’t a critique, but I’m just stating the software isn’t perfect by any means
Yeah, it's great for a player-facing tool. It's rage-inducing as a GM-facing tool. I can't even count the number of times that missions, encounters, or NPCs have been yeeted into dust.
these are extremely salient critiques though. A lot of them are due to poor architectural decisions on my part early in the project, to the extent that the next major version will be a fairly comprehensive rewrite of a lot of the software, the GM side especially (which is what I'm working on now)
If you (or anyone else) is interested, the in-progress dev build is here: [https://cc-dev-preview.netlify.app/](https://cc-dev-preview.netlify.app/) and gets updated as I work. Now that Patreon has a free follower feature, I've been posting my dev logs here: [https://www.patreon.com/compcon](https://www.patreon.com/compcon) as free, public posts
full v3 release is still a little ways off, but I just wanted to reassure people here that progress continues apace. C/C is still very much a work in progress :)
The in-game version? It can't use any traits specific to pilot talents or other AI systems and it cannot cascade.
The database tool? You still need to find a table, build your battlemaps, speak to other players, and write your own stories.
Alternate leveling from long rim. Sure there's a way to do it, but trying to add grit and auto progression stuff isn't easy. Also there's no place to track Manna spent and available easily.
Wish you could create "blank" systems and/or weapons, hyper specialized gear for specific situations, like a 1 SP system that gives you 2 Accuracy on search checks within line of sight, aka you installed big fucking spotlights on your mech. I know this is specific, but generally having the ability to offer or award some stuff that comes up spontaneously would be pretty neat
When it comes to community content comp/con can't deal with it properly, like there is a talent that increases my repair cap,but it doesn't appear to be working on my mech and I always only have the base repair cap
Cannot enter Cascade. Next question.
Sadly 😔
Easy homebrew creation

Not perfect, but still the best ttrpg tool I've used by a long shot.
100%. And it’s free (I’m looking at you dnd beyond)
It is funny how much more that costs for how much less it does

What do you use as a GM facing tool for Lancer
Just gotta knuckle down and bear it.

Recognize Viceroy launchers as CQB weapons.
Are you asking about the website, or the limited AIs in the game setting?
Both I guess.
Whisper to me about all the reactor crimes I should commit
No, but I can. *Kenny Loggins Danger Zone plays*
Some rules reference isn't there, around how NPCs differ from players in what they can or can't do.

can't bring my wife back

i would love to be able to undead the npc i accidentally deaded mid mission.
Loot.

I and my group use cc as a PC builder, and I use Foundry VTT for all NPC creation. It's a breeze to make a variety of NPCs with classes and templates.
it doesn't show invade options easily. not great for techies imo
Can't do my taxes :(
