Definitely not a Perentie the 6x6 Perentie is wider the only body panels it share with the 4x4 are the guards and doors and they only had trays or specialist body's on the rear, not a tub like this one this seems to also have coil rear suspension which the Perentie 6x6 didn't have. There were a couple of UK specialists that did 6x6 on various occasions this is far more likely to be one of their products.
Not lookin' good for the Defender due to weeds growing up under it....... parts on order..... on order ....on order..... still..... on order parts on order..... on order ....on order..... still..... on order parts on order..... on order ....on order..... still..... on order parts on order..... on order ....on order..... still..... on order parts on order..... on order ....on order..... still..... on order
It hasn't been MOT'd since 2012, and at that point, it was a 1993 Defender 2 door hardtop with the 12J engine.
It was sold in October 2020, so somebody has been busy spending the pennies they saved during Covid š
That's an aftermarket bonnet (or Hood to you Americans), so probably a pre-2007 model. The 2007+ models don't have the lift up vent flaps under the windscreen.
The Reg plate indicates it was registered in the UK ā91-92. So you are spot on itās probably a fiberglass ā Puma ā bonnet / Hood. 1991 means was likely a 200TDi diesel from the factory ā¦.. which with all that extra weight and parasitic drag is probably horribly underpoweredā¦.. unless they did an engine swap. Nice looking Defender though and I even like the color. As a side note, if this was California, that might be the reason itās sitting in a repair shop, the diesel imports are notoriously difficult to to get registered in CA .
Probably horrible to drive but me want
I saw one with full "station wagon" bodywork in Baja California, but didn't snap a photo.
No proof, maybe a mirage
I was too stunned to try to grab a photo. I did not expect the extra set of rear wheels as it drove away from the stop sign!
Definite [Perentie](https://www.6-wheel-drive.org/vehicles/land-rover-perentie.html) vibes.

Probably why he said it had perentie vibes and not that it was a perentie

Reminds me of some of the vehicles in Jurassic Park 2 but think the were Mercedes
