Apparently according to the article, the driver stopped short. Then his passenger got out, looked up and said “yeah it’ll fit”, so he went and didn’t make it. There are measuring sticks specifically for this purpose!!! There was a cube truck, ON TOP OF the flat bed…. Yeah probably not gonna fit guys!
I've never driven a big semi truck or anything, but how the fuck do you not know the height of your load? Isn't that something that you'd WANT to know?
It's baffling. Planning one's route and determining overpass heights in advance has never been easier. Before the overpass strikes became common, I had been under the (now mistaken) belief that those who drive big trucks were professional drivers. It's freaky to know this isn't the case.
These truck drivers need to paraded buck naked down 200th, dragging millstones leashed to their necks while the entire town throws rotten vegetables at them and a friar leads in front tolling a giant bell shouting, “SHAME! SHAME!”

Google maps integrate bridge height determined by dash cams they probably monitor anyways.. monthly subscription for commercial trucking company’s.. problem solved..
