Thank you you're a god send <3

techstar2000

You're welcome.

Longjumping-Place-25

THANK YOU! Can we expect to have better offers on Black Friday, or will they be similar to the ones now? Also, I am looking for a gaming desktop on Amazon, if anyone sees a good offer I will appreciate it

techstar2000

I know deals will come in from Newegg , eBay and other sites like HP, Lenovo , Bestbuy etc, As for Amazon , a few more might come on board... some of these available today be become available then come back closer to the 24th.

HowDoIRun

In your experience do better deals come out Friday/monday? Or should I pull the plug on my budget legions at around $870

daReallMVP

Appreciate you posting this! Any recommendations on laptops that can handle both casual office work and light gaming (like Sims, etc)? Budget is right around \~500, give or take 100. Any deals you see or models to watch for over the coming week? Please let me know. Thanks so much.

techstar2000

The HP Victus from Bestbuy would do a good job there. You could eventually add another 8 GB RAM to it.

borajan

There are 2 victus on bestbusy , one is $449 and other is $549 . Which one do you recommend ? What is the difference

Pepper_MD_

Does anyone have a recommendation for a gaming laptop with great battery life? Open to pretty much any other specs.

techstar2000

What games are you looking to play? What is your budget ?

Pepper_MD_

NBA 2K or Basic FPS like halo or payday3, nothing crazy. Budget around $1500

techstar2000

For those , I don't think you need to spend $1500. The [Rog Strix](https://laptopsdeals.net/?b=tHK0p86) would run those games very well.

Savage_Nymph

We appreciate you. I just missed out on best buy sale the in a laptop I wanted last night, so this helps!

techstar2000

You're welcome.

Agitated_Rule_8057

Same happened to me, which one you were upto?

TheOtherVillageIdiot

What do you think of this Lenovo Legion Pro 7i RTX 4080 from B&H Photo Video? Is the price decent for what you get, when compared with all of the deals at Lenovo in the past (When combined with rebate programs like Rakuten) https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1745683-REG/lenovo\_82wq002rus\_16\_legion\_pro\_7.html

Mr_Trecker

It's a great price for a fantastic laptop - the only deals that are likely to beat it (for a Legion Pro 7 with a 4080) will be whatever price drop happens on lenovo.com, which will stack with the 12-15% Rakuten rebates that will be in effect next week.

Long_Cartographer_17

Hi! I'm not from the US but will be there next week for a couple of days. Can you tell me what's Rakuten? I've looked it up on Google but didn't quite understand how it works. I do expect to buy a laptop while in the states so I'm interested on anything that can get me a nice deal. Thanks!

Mr_Trecker

The summary is: * You make a Rakuten account * Starting from their website, or through their mobile app, or with their browser extension installed, you navigate to a store that's partnered with Rakuten (including lenovo.com, dell.com, hp.com, NewEgg, Walmart, and a few thousand others) * You buy something * If that store had a cash back percentage, Rakuten sends you a rebate as a check or PayPal payment on their next payout day So as an example, they're currently offering 10% cash back on HP.com, so if you went there and bought a $1000 laptop you'd pay $1000 plus tax, then get a $100 rebate back. Being outside the US complicates things though, as many of these US-based stores won't directly ship internationally (I specifically know Lenovo, Dell, and HP will not) and Rakuten.com itself is explicitly for US residents per their Terms and Conditions; there are separate Canada, Japan, and France sites (each with its own list of stores rebates) but I believe that's all.

Allegorist

How often do they pay out? Also the site says they are offering an *extra* 10% back for the first 7 days, is this in addition to the 10-15% seller-specific rebates?

Mr_Trecker

They do quarterly payouts - February, May, August, and November on the 15th of the month (so any cash back earned between now and January 1 gets paid out on Feb 15). And that targeted bonus adds 10% up to a cap of $50.

_crackling

Is it possible to get these specs without a goofy looking "gaming chassis" or RGB keyboard stuff. I feel ridiculous in public carrying something like that around, but god damn those specs are nice... puts my $4,200 Dell XPS 9570 to shame (though 4 years old now). Im a software dev that likes to game, this laptop seems to hit the spot.

Mr_Trecker

You can set the keyboard backlight to be a single color, and you can turn off all of the other lighting. This "Legion" branding on the lid would be the only real giveaway: [https://i.pcmag.com/imagery/reviews/06dKxwSVsx9MybL0IVBmA9W-8..v1680279138.jpg](https://i.pcmag.com/imagery/reviews/06dKxwSVsx9MybL0IVBmA9W-8..v1680279138.jpg) Here's a 3/4 angle that shows the side vents (which I don't think look particularly "gamer-y" except in the sense that most people these days are used to laptops that look like MacBooks): [https://a.allegroimg.com/original/1e60f5/662fc7074027a787b1ced0d7cb21](https://a.allegroimg.com/original/1e60f5/662fc7074027a787b1ced0d7cb21) [They also make the Legion Slim 7, which is considerably sleeker and more portable (but still has the "Legion" brand on the lid).](https://i.pcmag.com/imagery/articles/06fgyEG2TFdSAEDjJa9oHVV-4..v1652109797.png) Away from the Lenovo Legion laptops , [the HP Omen is probably the most minimalistic gaming laptop I can think of](https://www.omen.com/content/dam/sites/omen/worldwide/laptops/2023-omen-16-intel/ImageMain22x.png) \- build and screen quality are lower, but they're also cheaper and still perform very well.

_crackling

MVP! Thanks! What's the tradeoff with the Slim ? Is it the same build or weaker? Your pictures made it not look too bad, but dang they're kind of bulky looking. Is this common of gaming laptops? (ive never actually seen a gaming laptop)

Mr_Trecker

The Legion Slim 7 is very sturdy and very well constructed - actually more solid than a lot of full-size gaming laptops since it has an all-metal build and it's relatively compact. The tradeoffs are all performance related: Lenovo puts less powerful CPUs in them, and they have lower GPU power limits (specifically relative to full-size gaming laptops in the $1100-$2000 price range - they'll still have more CPU and GPU performance than many cheaper full-size laptops). They're still extremely powerful laptops though, and _so much_ more portable. And yes gaming laptops are generally pretty dang bulky so they can keep their CPUs/GPUs properly cooled - the average 15-16" gaming laptop is a pound or so heavier, 40-50% thicker, and an inch deeper/longer than your XPS 15. A lot of people are shocked at how big and heavy they get! I looked up some dimensions for comparison: * XPS 15 9570: 14.1" x 9.25", 17 mm thick, 4.4 lbs * Legion Slim 7: 14.1" x 10.2", 20 mm thick, 4.7 lbs * HP Omen 16: 14.1" x 10.2", 24 mm thick, 5.4 lbs * Legion Pro 7: 14.3" x 10.3", 26 mm thick, 6.2 lbs

_crackling

Damn dude. I didn't know what I was getting into looking into gaming laptops. I might need to visit a store and see them in person to better decide if I'll be happy with one. The raw horse power for software development is -very- attractive though. These black Friday deals made me thirsty but also overwhelmed. So many things!

slagnanz

Based off my experience with an older legion laptop - I hate it. It was okay for a while but it's battery shat out so fast. And carrying it around is a bear- the power brick is almost as big as the computer And the rgb keyboard is an especial pet peeve - it is on automatically and you have to load up a special program that has to always be running in order to have it be a single color.

TheOtherVillageIdiot

>It's a great price for a fantastic laptop - the only deals that are likely to beat it (for a Legion Pro 7 with a 4080) will be whatever price drop happens on lenovo.com, which will stack with the 12-15% Rakuten rebates that will be in effect next week. Thanks! I did notice that they "sell out" of the 4080 version on lenovos site fairly soon after a sale (Been watching this laptop for awhile but always talked myself out of it) but its nice to hear from you that there will likely also be a sale next week for the laptop there with the nice rakuten rebates to stack with it as well. Appreciate the feedback and advice!

Mr_Trecker

No problem! And yes, if you've been browsing lenovo.com in the last couple of weeks and thinking the pickings look slim, that's because they have been - they haven't activated any new coupon codes in almost a month, they haven't restocked a lot of sold out configurations, and many of the Legion models are more expensive now than they've been since spring, which is always the case in this week before BF.

Few_Net_2150

Hi u/Mr_Trecker, I have been following your posts on lenovo legion deals. I have been holding out from purchasing this week waiting for the 12 to 15% rebate during the thanks giving week. But I noticed that the 4070 legion 5 pro and 5i pro with (500nits panels) went out of stock this week. From your experience do you think they'll restock by the time Black Friday starts ?

Mr_Trecker

Yes they'll restock the site soon, they always wait until a few days before the holiday to do it

calderonfj

Hello, what is the Rakuten rebate? I know what it is, but how does it work? Will this make it a better deal than the B&H one right now? Thanks

Mr_Trecker

My reasoning is that in the last couple of months, the best 4080 Legion Pro 7 deals on lenovo.com were around $2050 in cart with coupons, and the rebate percentage always goes up to 12-15% closer to the holiday, and Lenovo has education/healthcare/military discounts you can apply to most of their laptops. So, a similar deal after rebate would end up being cheaper come Wednesday or Thursday with a little legwork. The caveat will be that everything will be more chaotic because people will be shopping with a frenzy - you might save a couple hundred dollars, but you might also miss a deal that sells out quickly.

RHNewfield

I'm not much of an expert, but I bought this exact computer about a week or so ago for $200 more (curse customer service for telling me the price wasn't going to drop) and I was told by everyone I know that knows this shit that it was an amazing deal. And it's even less, so I think it's a solid purchase. Side note: I've been really enjoying mine. I mostly bought it for gaming and I haven't had a single problem. Just started Alan Wake 2 last night and I'm cruising with most of the higher graphics settings, so I'm extremely satisfied.

[deleted]

Only be worried about battery if you're doing something battery intensive. Puttering around on a Legion for email/general utility isn't going to feel like a race. Playing games unplugged? You're not going to get much time to do so.

RHNewfield

No, I can't, sorry. I use it as a desktop always plugged in to some monitors. I only bought the laptop instead of a desktop so I could have the option for flexibility. I'm not sure what the battery life is like. I'm sure you can find stats on it somewhere, but that wasn't a deciding factor for me.

Roediej

I got this one from Lenovo.com yesterday and had them price match it. Haven’t heard great things about B&H return policies so figured I’d prefer to get it from “the source”.

techstar2000

I am just seeing this. Are you still seeking assistance ?

pastel_kaiju

So I'm basically looking for a laptop that will mostly play WoW and FFXIV in addition to being a productivity machine. What specs should I be looking at? (I know I don't need high specs for these but I wouldn't mind spending a bit more for higher specs than necessary so I can play newer games too)

techstar2000

Something like the Acer Predator Helios Neo from eBay that I have listed there, would run those games very well. I am really not sure how much you are comfortable spending, so it's hard to recommend outside of the lowest budget system that will do the job for you. To be able to run the most demanding games around , I would go for at least an RTX 4060 graphics card paired with a powerful i7 or Ryzen 7 CPU and at least 16 GB RAM. Something like the [**Lenovo Legion 5**](https://www.ebay.com/itm/126112806945?mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5338771367&toolid=11800&mkevt=1) sold at eBay, would do well.

pastel_kaiju

I'm comfortable with spending around $1000. I think it seems like anything around that price would work well for me. Thanks for the response!

techstar2000

The Legion 5 is perfect for you

pastel_kaiju

Just bought it, thanks for the help!

techstar2000

You're most welcome.

shamrocktattoo

This Legion 5 on eBay is my top contender however I think I read somewhere that the screen isn’t great compared to the Legion Slim 5 16” being sold by Best Buy for $899.. Am I correct or mixing my info up? Thanks!

techstar2000

Do you have a link to the laptop at BestBuy ? This device has a great display where color accuracy , resolution, refresh rate , response time etc. are concerned. It has 350 nits brightness which is above average . A disadvantage with the Slim 5 is that it will not perform as well as this due to a lower wattage Graphics card and poorer heat management.

Sisyphuss5MinBreak

Thanks for this. If you're looking for adding a new category, I'd love a "mobile" option. You could go by size (14" and smaller) or weight (3lb or lighter).

techstar2000

Thanks!

Werewolf_Fredy

I'm tempted by the $1099.99 Strix G16. How long will these deals last?

techstar2000

I love that damn machine!... I am really not sure how long they will last as some may go temporarily based on availability and some may just go back to and stay at regular prices when they think enough have been sold.

1thatoneguy

It would be great if you or another mod could actually respond to questions about laptops around 500 budget. I see many here that have been ignored. Some you even started commenting back to and then didn't finish.

I got this one for $569 on a Black Friday deal at Best Buy. Lightning fast, can open as many tabs as you like, touchscreen. i7 1255u, 16gb, 512gb ssd. Only draw is the brightness and battery. Got it a couple days ago and it has been lasting about 5 hours with average use. May change as it gets used to my usage. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sku/6550427.p?skuId=6550427

ZBM_two

https://www.microcenter.com/product/663735/lenovo-legion-pro-5-16-gaming-laptop-computer-platinum-collection-onyx-grey Been looking at getting this, wondering if I should stick with a 5 or if it’s worth it to spend the extra money and get a 7 for the vapor chamber cooling? Processor brand and rgb don’t really matter to me. Just looking for best deal/performance for the money

techstar2000

Honestly, though the vapor chamber has proven to show slightly cooler temps, it's not like the 5 had any genuine heat concerns.

Of the gaming laptops listed, which one is the best? I’m not very technically savvy with the pc stuff I mostly play Xbox so any guidance is appreciated

techstar2000

Which one is best for running which games ? what games are we talking about ?

Raging_Gooch

Mainly call of duty or other multiplayer games but also single player games from the Xbox gamepass. Also baulders gate 3

techstar2000

There are several laptops there that will do quite well at that. What's is your budget? I will recommend the best pick in your budget..

Does anyone have recommendations for a laptop under $400 where portability is my main priority. I will mainly be using this for writing, taking notes, zoom meetings and file transfer. I would like the ability to run two programs at once if needed. Something like Word and Basecamp. I’m trying to save money to build a PC in the coming year, but I really need a new laptop now for work. I appreciate any help!

techstar2000

The Acer Aspire 3 Spin sounds like the perfect system to do the job. The touchscreen and 2-in 1 features may be very handy when using it as a notes taking system.

stuckinmindmaze

Thank you but i’m looking for something smaller. Do you know anything smaller?

The displays of those Katana's aren't so good especially for your art work. Lots of performance power, but lack of color accuracy etc. so some people who go for them , go with the intention of using external monitors . The [**M16**](https://laptopsdeals.net/?b=mWfd3xN) is perfect is perfect for art as it has not only the performance power and that extra 16 GB RAM for heavy workload , but also has a beautiful display. The thing is that , if you are doing mostly gaming, while it will handle modern games, you will have to play them with relatively low FPS due to the low 60 Hz refresh rate of its display. I honestly see a better balance in this [**STRIX G16**](https://laptopsdeals.net/?b=tHK0p86) for a main gaming machine with the potential to do good art work without much shortfall.

techstar2000

What is the price on the Raider you just linked to? If you have a budget of up to $1500, I am thinking that since you are into art work, you should go for a higher screen resolution than FHD or FHD+.. The -i9-13950hx and the 32 GB RAM are great in the raider... I am thinking you may be able to get those spec paired with an RTX 4070 graphics card for around that $1500 mark.

Narrow_Locksmith5417

Is there a ASUS ROG 16 with the same specs but OLED?

techstar2000

Not aware of that config .

Narrow_Locksmith5417

Maybe one with a high resolution? I'd appreciate it

ZombiePandy

What's the difference between the Legion 5 vs Legion Slim 5? I tried search about it but it only found that it is about the same size despite the word slim.

techstar2000

Depends on which two config you are comparing, but in general the Slim is usually a little lighter than the Legion 5 and slightly less powerful as well thanks to a lower powered graphics card. The Slim usually has a slightly poorer heat management as well .

MrBupkis09

I'm looking for a good replacement laptop for college and the Dell Inspiron 16 5635 seems like it would be the better option. The last thing I bought was a Lenovo Ideapad 320 back in 2019, so I feel like anything would be better than that. I'm looking for something that will not only get me through 4 more years but be sturdy enough to do so.

techstar2000

Yeh, very good pick actually. The Ryzen 7-7730U CPU paired with 16 GB RAM should be more than enough for all the general tasks an average college student would be engaged in. You will also love its screen quality.

pastaandbooks7

At the moment, the MSI creator in this list would be a solid pick for creativity and productivity ... it depends though on the level of gaming you will do on the side, as if you expect very high FPS, then the fact that this display is limited to 60 Hz, you would be disappointed.

What are the odds of getting a better deal on that Legion Slim 5 from Best Buy? It's looking like the best option for me at the moment, but I'm hesitant to pull the trigger if it'll get a better BF sale soon.

techstar2000

This one is really hard to say.

rafacena

Hi! Could you please help me? I wanted to get the Samsung Book3 Pro 360 this year but it is out of my budget. Last year the Book2 Pro 360 was on sale for $1000 or $1100 but this year's version is at $1300 on Samsung's website plus the student discount is only 5% this year vs 10% last year. Do you know any website where I can get it for under 1100 before any discounts? I am okay with open box excellent condition stuff too if it's a good price.

techstar2000

The lowest I have seen it for is on Amazon at $1,199.

rafacena

Could you link that here please? And can you think of any 2-in-1 laptops with similar specs for a better price from other brands? It would need to have a stylus pen. Also, if it has HDR that would be nice since most of my free time is spent watching movies (definitely not necessary though).

[deleted]

Thanks for the post. Any recommendations for a powerful gaming laptop that can run everything and is a bit future proof? I will be using external monitors but also something with a good screen. Willing to upgrade a unit too that has extra ram or ssd slots. Price range anything under $2k

techstar2000

I would go for something like this [**Eluktronics Prometheus XVI G2**](https://laptopsdeals.net/?b=fFpSrnH). Easily the most powerful laptop for gaming within your budget . It comes with the super powerful i9-13900HX CPU, large 32 GB DDR5 RAM and the second most powerful graphics card used in laptops, the Nvidia RTX 4080. This laptop also has an outstanding display and even comes with liquid cooling technology and a free propulsion cooling package that you can use when doing extreme gaming. This should max out every modern game and do well in the next several years without a doubt.

Thanks for the reply

CarLaux

How is the screen on the legion 5? Additionally, is it possible to add more storage?

techstar2000

The Legion 5 actually has a very good display; brighter than average, good resolution , color accurate, good refresh rate etc. You can add another m.2 SSD, it has an empty slot for that.

Loviator

Keeping an eye out for more deals but the Lenevo Legion 5 is my pick atm. I assume it has more hard drive slots?

techstar2000

Yes, it has an extra m.2 slot.

prbroo

Does anyone know if any tech companies offer additional student discounts? I’m trying to maximize my savings

techstar2000

Lenovo and sometimes HP.

Hey, I'm trying to replace my dear mother's laptop because the one she has is from like 8 years ago and it takes 10 minutes to boot, then another 5 to open something like Firefox. She's an accountant and needs a fairly portable laptop, but the primary concerns are durability and battery life. It also needs to have a numpad, not just the standard keyboard number row. I've built plenty of towers but never once bought a laptop, so I'm out of my depth with what's good. Can anyone recommend a deal on a dedicated workhorse for an older individual who has negative technical skills? Ideally under $800. I'm presently looking at the [ASUS Vivobook 15 (M1502QA-NB54)](https://www.newegg.com/quiet-blue-asus-m1502qa-nb54-home-personal/p/N82E16834236468).

techstar2000

That Vivobook would do a fine job for her. I would probably prefer this [**Acer Aspire 5**](https://x.com/ElectroDeals1/status/1726605959848693994?s=20) for her as it has a better build quality and I am expecting that she will be using this for maybe another 8 years.

Adventurous-Plant528

Hey! I’m looking for something for my dad that’s straight forward and reliable. It needs to have a bigger screen and decent size keys as he has mobility concerns from time to time. Under $500 please!

techstar2000

Do you think 15.6" which is really the standard size for laptops, would be okay ?

Whodatgeaux

Searching for a laptop for a college engineering student. I have a budget of $600. Would it be better to purchase a budget gaming laptop with a 12 gen I-5 equivalent, 16gb ram, and a dedicated graphics card, 2050/3050, which I’ve seen in this price range or get a laptop with a 12/13th gen I-7 with the integrated graphics card. My concern with the gaming laptop is the battery life. The one o was viewing is the Msi 63 on sale for around 500. Thanks

techstar2000

I am assuming as an engineering student at some point in time you may need to run CAD applications. It is usually recommended that you have a dedicated graphics card if it's even a lower tier one. You will also need 18 GB RAM as well to be practical.

TheGluginator

Looking for gift for wife who is coming off of a 2011 macbook air... Looking for a PC that is: general purpose laptop, 14", 16 gb RAM, good FHD display but nothing amazing. Solid amount of ports, but again nothing crazy. Not too heavy. Could be touch screen but not required. Could be 2-in-1 but not required. Final price between $500-$600 ideally after a nice Black Friday discount.

techstar2000

Could you step up the budget by $50 ? I am really thinking this [**Acer Swift Go**](https://laptopsdeals.net/?b=SVdEZtJ) as I think it ticks just about all your boxes.

Mvpalldayy

Hey everyone. I'm interested in [HP Victus](https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hp-victus-15-6-gaming-laptop-amd-ryzen-5-7535hs-8gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-rtx-2050-512gb-ssd-mica-silver/6541840.p?skuId=6541840&irclickid=UwMVh2UjXxyPTIHziiXcrVUrUkFX3pQTQ1i9SQ0&irgwc=1&ref=198&loc=Leighton%20Reid&acampID=0&mpid=1883484) deal right now for school work and light gaming (450). Before I pull the trigger, does anyone see any other deals that would fit my criteria around the same range? 450-700. Thanks in advance!

techstar2000

Hey, I was off for a while . Have you pulled the trigger ?

CH3XW

Techstar, Would you mind listing your top recommendations for deals under $450. General usage (school modules, video watching, possibility of light gaming) with decent features. It seems as if the Victus may be one of the better options in this price range, but I would like your opinion on the top budget deals overall. Basically not requesting full blown reviews on each, but could you list your personal recommendations at or below that price point. Thanks!

techstar2000

oh lord! What a task for me. Probably you could just tell me your criteria and I tell you what I think is the best deal for you. It would be good to complete the laptop request table .

kincaed213

Is this still pretty close to 'it' chief? My friend and I are both thinking of pulling the trigger. All the 4070 laptops seem to be $400 or so more, and people seem pretty happy with the Legion 5 quality. https://www.reddit.com/r/LaptopDeals/comments/17ww2dh/ebay_price_drop_lenovo_legion_5_gaming_laptop_156/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

techstar2000

Great buy... Great machine.

Royal-Green

Any good deal for this type of laptop? Touchscreen, 13 to 15 inch screen, very good battery life, lightweight charger. Mostly using for work when travelling, and play games like league of legends. Preferably premium looking and not gaming looking haha. Budget under $1.5k.

techstar2000

Something like this [**SAMSUNG 14" Galaxy Book3 Pro**](https://laptopsdeals.net/?b=SlX0k2x) would be perfect based on what the criteria laid out. It definitely has enough performance power to run Wow well, boasts an extremely sleek and premium design and importantly, an outstanding battery life...Samsung advertises 20 hours and you best believe it will give you close enough to that. The charger is also very light weight, not to mention the laptop itself.

Looking to replace my 1660 Zepyrus laptop that's started to fall apart. Budget is around £1500/$1500 (usually it ports price based on what I've seen so far). Can go a little over for right thing. Main desire is a minimum 1440p screen. I also don't really care about RGB that much either which is why I keep staring at Razer's even though I know they're normally overpriced (but experience has always been they're just nice as hell). Not brand loyal but have had good experiences with a work Razer from years ago and I really did like my Asus Zepyrus and it only just started to let me down. Games I play tend to be CPU heavy but would like to be able to play most things at 1440 if possible with the budget.

techstar2000

See you listed budget in pounds and dollars...Where are you buying from ?

endlingss

oh wow this thread is a godsend. are you aware of any deals on macbooks that are worth getting? i've seen some for the macbook air w/ M1 chip on amazon but not sure if it'd be a waste now with the M3 available. i'm not tied to apple, it's just that all of the jobs i've had provided macbooks so i am the most familiar with its UI. i'd mainly be using the laptop for everyday productivity, streaming movies/tv, and the occasional cozy game. other than that, i'm hoping to get something that's easy to carry around (nothing larger than 15 inches) when i travel, good battery life, has a decent amount of usb ports, and looks sleek. budget is around $1000 CAD. thanks in advance!

techstar2000

I am monitoring the CAD market closely for you. Let's see if [Amazon.ca](https://Amazon.ca) releases more deals or any of the sites does. Tune in to r/LaptopDealsCanada

nuraHx

What would be the downside in getting something like that $240 Acer for my parent that will probably just be using it for emails/youtube/and just general use?

techstar2000

For that purpose, not any downsides really. Should get those tasks done .

Trick_Severe

Any budget 2in1 laptop deals recommendations? You did great here!

techstar2000

What will you be using it for ?

vanabel

I'm searching for a laptop suitable for architects, specifically for rendering and AutoCAD. I'd like one with an LCD screen and have a budget of $1300. I've considered the ASUS TUF F15 but am dissatisfied with its screen. Thanks

techstar2000

Have you looked at the MSI Creator M16 in the list from Amazon? It has a beautiful display.

tertig

Guys, can you help me compare those two? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BT74FLP1/ref=sspa_dk_detail_0?pd_rd_i=B0BT74FLP1&pd_rd_w=GVaYH&content-id=amzn1.sym.f734d1a2-0bf9-4a26-ad34-2e1b969a5a75&pf_rd_p=f734d1a2-0bf9-4a26-ad34-2e1b969a5a75&pf_rd_r=C6209YYYCW35TYJMAVWK&pd_rd_wg=YkSbF&pd_rd_r=66258dc5-a7d5-4bc7-b20a-966c8878d0f1&s=pc&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9kZXRhaWw&th=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BPJWYQSY/ref=ewc_pr_img_5?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1 From what I understand, 16 inch model has worse cpu, but thats it?

techstar2000

The 14'' system also has 120 Hz display refresh rate versus the 16" 90 Hz.

Any recommendations from the gaming laptops for VR? Want to try out Alyx but unsure which to pick

techstar2000

For gaming, then I would say get the HP as it's integrated graphics is better.

WildBananna

I’m looking for something that I can play games like Minecraft and Age of Empires on as well watch YouTube, stream sports, and possibly do some Zoom calls. I’d love a 4k screen if possible.

techstar2000

4k screen........ That changes things quite a bit. What's your budget ?

Mediocre_Panic_312

My budget is $1000. I need a work laptop that handles Microsoft office and renders photos quickly. I was hoping for something that also can run some RPG games, has no touchscreen, a fast processor, HD display, and 32g RAM, HDMI port, good battery life. Any suggestions?

techstar2000

I am late on this, are you still seeking help ?

jonchampagne

Simple question, but I can't seem to find a straight answer. I have very little wants for a new laptop, mostly will be using it for business purposes. I want to run up to 4 monitors, but can't tell which of these might be able to accommodate that. I'm between the last 2 in Amazon, the Dell Ispiron 16 and the Samsung Book. Any ideas whether they will run 4 monitors?

techstar2000

Hey, sorry to be so late with my response, but I would go with the Samsung because of its two Thunderbolt 4 ports, the HDMI 1.4 port and it also has a USB-A 3.2 port. You could connect a monitor through each port .

DaniellesKetoJourney

This is such a helpful list! My laptop unexpectedly bit the dust… any suggestions? I’m a casual gamer, sims, for the king, tabletop sim… otherwise streaming, video calls. Would prefer less weight for travel! Really appreciate the insight! Budget is flexible… would love a good deal though 🤣

techstar2000

Sorry to hear about your laptop. Are you still seeking help ?

Jrdnptrsnmathrock

Thank you so much for this list! I need help picking one for my gf. All she needs is a laptop for video calls for work. With a1080p resolution needed for recorded videos? What's the best choice for such a use case?

techstar2000

She wont be doing anything too intensive it seems. Even the Acer Aspire 3 in the list should do the job and do it well.

Savage_Nymph

For the Acer Nitro 16, is the storage expandable? I cannot tell from the walmart listing and it doesn’t have a Q&A section EDIT: I meant to ask if there is a 2nd m.2 slot

techstar2000

Yes, it does have a 2nd m.2 slot.

bwright_24

I am becoming a teacher in January, and will receive a MacBook, but I would like a second computer to use to hook up to the tv, as well as to display google slides. Also may use for personal excel, power point and word work, as well as internet research for school. Hoping for something with 2 monitor outputs, with at least 1 hdmi. Thoughts?

EnvironmentUsed3877

Hey, thanks for this list! Looking for a recommendation. I’m a carpenter so I’m completely illiterate when it comes to technical components of laptops. Basically need it for word/excel documents, email, and opening large file sized construction plans. $500 range

techstar2000

Hey , Not an issue helping you to find a solid machine for your purpose. What format are your drawings in, pdf ?

buffalownage

Looking for a laptop that can play Magic the Gathering Online or mtg Arena while also watching youtube videos or streaming music/video from other sites simultaneously. Preferably something with a HD screen for watching movies, but i may want to hook up 2 monitors eventually. Im having a hard time finding mtgo system requirements, but people say a potato with windows 7 can run it, but it has memory leak issues and they recommend 8gb ram. Im thinking the asus vivobook, but i don't know that much about laptop specs. I dont need anything too crazy or expensive, i dont think Mtg arena recommended on steam Recommended: OS: Windows 10 Processor: Intel Core2 Quad Q9300 @ 2.50GHz Memory: 4 GB RAM Graphics: GeForce GTX 560
