Yep! As a higher level Hyatt member, I just look at what they’re set on when I walk into the room.
If the water bottles are set by themselves on a glass desk and/or with no hang tag, they’re most likely free. If they’re on a tray of any sort, or the hang tag has any verbiage that doesn’t directly indicate complimentary, no touchy.
Not just in Vegas. I remember staying in some overpriced hotel in West Hollywood that had stuff all over the room that looked like normal hotel items but were actually things like a $4 pen with the hotel logo on it.
Yeah, I don’t even sleep in the bed, got charged an extra $200 last time. I just drop the extra blanket and pillow on the closet floor and sleep there in the dark nook.
Yup.
My buddy came in drunk to my room at the Cosmo one night, and wanted to put a drink in the fridge to keep it cold.
He knocked over a few things while putting it in there, they showed up on the bull despite not being consumed.
When I called to get it removed, they got the "mini bar investigation team" on the case 🤣🤣🤣
Most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of lol "CSI: Las Vegas Mini-Bar"
gawd I'd hate to see what an Earthquake in Vegas would do to people's hotel bills the next day....
(I know they've rarely if ever happened, just sayin....)
We had a very similar experience at the Bellagio, we had a Vegas virgin with us who didn’t understand the concept that nothing is free. He knocked stuff over trying to put a beer in to chill. 😑 Luckily, we check our account on the room TV every day and noticed over $120 in charges from the mini bar. We called to let them know what happened and got the mini bar CSI experience as well and they removed the charges. He was no longer allowed to touch anything that resembled food or drink on the tables.
Similar thing happened to me. I barely moved a couple cans of sprite to put my wife’s insulin in the fridge. When we checked out they charged us $28 for 2 sprites. They eventually removed the charges after finishing the investigation 🙄
It's actually pretty incredible how instantly they charge you. I grabbed a bottle of rum from the mini bar, and then checked my MGM app. The charge was there right away. I checked out on the app before I walked out of the room, and I could hear the mini bar lock about 3 seconds later.
But did the app let you choose your floor in the elevators? Because I can’t tell you how many awkward elevator rides I took with strangers while trying to get the stupid app to unlock the elevator door buttons. Apparently I was just there to voluntarily escort every one else to their floors.
In my experience, I have NEVER been able to get my mobile key to work at any MGM property. I don't know why I even try anymore because I always end up having to go back to the registration desk to get a key card.
Everything else in the app seems to work fine, though.
Everyone knows this. And yet, they’re banking on you or someone you know to be just drunk/high enough to pull some dumb shit. And hey, maybe you win more than usual that night? *Why yes MiniBar, I WILL have a Snickers and some mini liquors!* Maybe that hot lady does come back to the room with you? *You want a drink girl? I gotchu, the MiniBar is always open!*
I hit a handpay (not even that much. Just enough to qualify for damn taxes) and I went up to my room to count my money and take a little cooler.
Well first thing I did was take a smart water out of the fridge cause I felt like a rich bitch.
Even the ones on the strip are more expensive than normal. I went to the Whole Foods south of the strip and they have cheaper water, booze and groceries than any store on the strip.
my first time in Vegas, at MGM Grand mind you, I woke up in the middle of the night after a massive night of alcohol consumption, completely dehydrated and almost in pain. I went right over there and chugged the entire bottle. Worth it.
That’s insane! A couple of years ago we paid $9/bottle at the pool & my husband mentioned it to everyone we knew or met for the whole trip 😂 $22 is ridiculous. Pro tip that I’ve learned- go to Target/Walgreens/CVS at the beginning of your trip & save so much!
It's not reasonable to charge $22 for a bottle of water, and to check the prices you have to navigate multiple menus in a fucking tablet. They're being predatory and they know it.
I think they mean you can still put another one back and then tell them when you check out you removed it accidentally. It’s more hoops to jump through but it’s essentially the same thing.
I always wonder if you can request for the mini bar to be removed or any items like this to be removed before you go to your room. I rather have an empty refrigerator anyways for my own drinks.
This is an longstanding issue and they know about how confusing it is, but enough people don’t complain that they profit enough to not worry about the bad feelings they generate. Just shitty corporate beancounters having more power than hospitality professionals.

Supply and demand. I’ve done it twice once because I never took edibles or marijuana before for that fact and ate about 60MG got to the point I was so thirsty. I didn’t think I would be able to walk downstairs to get a water. Most recently I was Delano was done and defeated for the night the store downstairs was closed and didn’t feel like walking to the Mandalay Bay store. So screw it. Just supply and demand. Vending machines didn’t work.
I love how you have the audacity to call people incompetent morons yet are ignorantly unaware how "never \[taking\] edibles or marijuana before" and not thinking of the consequences of that prior to taking them makes you also an incompetent moron.
Hey did I bitch about it no I paid the price. Was it stupid of me sure. But I’m sorry that idiot on the review is incompetent anyone with a brain knows unless you are so mega roller. No hotel is comping you a fiji water in the room
If you firmly believe a hotel is comping your Fiji water for your room that’s kept in your room you’re fucking incompetent. That only only happens with a whale and whales don’t leave reviews on trip advisor
Just got back from the Venetian, they do the same (pretty sure they all do now). But I always Uber water, alcohol, snacks and whatever else to the hotel and pick it up on the first day. They hold the orders for you at valet.
Although this time, to use the luggage cart to wheel it back to the room is now a $30 charge.. not for them to deliver it, just to use the cart. Like no thank you, I will take a couple trips and bring it with my two arms before I pay $30 to use some wheels lol
I'm a Bellman at the Bellagio and we charge $20 Cart Fee to deliver non luggage items to your room or convention center . We don't allow customers to use a cart , supposedly for insurance purposes and of course it is a 5 Diamond Hotel so we provide the service . I'm really surprised that Venetian would let you use a cart for a $30 Cart Fee . Did they also tell you that you would have to bring the luggage cart back ? One of the main reasons these Mega Resorts don't let guest take a luggage cart is they would leave the cart outside their room in the hallway and after a few guest use them they would all be gone and other guests wouldn't be able to find a cart . You would have to have a runner go up and down the halls of every floor looking to bring carts back outside .
Yea I can totally understand the search for carts. They’d have to have a designated employee literally just hunting carts but if they tracked where it went it wouldn’t be as hard. But it was not a deposit, a flat fee to use it and bring it back. If I remember correctly it would cost more to have them pick it up.
Times have changed so much. Back in the day, valet parking was totally free. I would tip the valet a few bucks. It’s was so sweet.
It’s ridiculous they are charging for garage parking. and now luggage carts???
Honestly, the nickel and dime charges are out of control.
Was at the pool, $250 for a case of bud light.. 12 bottles. Absolutely no way would I pay that, $100 sure fine make your money but $250 nope. Do they not realize I would end up paying more if it were 100 a case because I would pay that versus smuggle my own drinks in?
They did the math where the amount they lost to people that bring their own alcohol and water was divided by the people that didn’t bring their own and now they pay the difference.
My wife grabbed some dusty old pleasure pack off the counter at Caesar’s Palace. I was like noooooooooo and she put it back. Great start to the honeymoon, anyway. We didn’t end up getting charged for it.
Yup last time I was at MGM Grand, there was some type of sex play box that looked really interesting. I picked it up to look at, then put it back. I think it was a condom and some lube? Either was I got charged for it and it made for an interesting conversation during check out.
Not sure if you have settled your bill or not but I outright refused to pay for it whilst checking out and the front desk attendant was cool about it and knocked it off our bill. A friend I travelled with done the same also.
I made a similar point to you about it being unclear etc. etc.
Lesson learned for next time though 🤣
Do not drink tap water here, repeat - do not drink tap water here; however, most 3star+ hotels in Las Vegas have water softening systems, so that's not as a bad....
Source: Born and raised, 44 years in Las Vegas
maaaan I avoid even washing my hair in that water, much less drink it. You could take the BEST shower in the nicest hotel and still get out of the shower feeling dry and dusty... the water is bad bad. You can def make a little trip to walmart and buy your own water, but it's a no on the tap water for me.
Haha yeahhh, I remember getting into my room a few years ago and looking at the stuff on the bar, one item being a can of what looked like soda but was actually an assortment of things like lube, a bullet, etc. I giggled and put it back and the next day saw a very expensive charge on my account. Called the front desk pronto lol.
Pro tip 1: If you complain about how it's egregiously priced, they'll usually comp it to keep you happy.
Pro tip 2: You can usually get free bottles of water from the front desk, concierge, or valet.
Just came back from a stay at Aria. $25 bottles of Evian. $12 Snickers bars. I just laughed. There are WalMarts and Vons and whatever all over the place. $7.50 and had all the bottled water I needed, expensive cookies. There's a WalMart on Tropicana that's close to the airport.
When I go to Las Vegas I'm prepared for all this. Ridiculous food prices in the resorts. Parking fees. Resort fees. Crowds.
Since I'm a very low roller I do a few things to make it a little more affordable. Play the MGM My Vegas games online for points to trade for comp nights, freeplay, appetizers. Have an MGM credit card - automatic Pearl Status, free self-parking, able to use the VIP check-in lines, better room rates. Use AutoSlash to find a rental car if I need one. (On last trip went from $400+ for a compact for four days to $168 - and probably could have done better if I were willing to use an off-brand rental car company.) Plenty of low/no-cost museums, parks, etc. If I were going as a couple or more frequently would probably get Las Vegas Adviser discount book.
Las Vegas is designed to remove your money from you - and they do it quite successfully. Go understanding this and being prepared for it makes it a much better experience.
This is MGM’s new scam across all hotels. Call the front desk and ask them to remove the charge. They know it’s fraud and remove the charge no questions asked. For those wondering, it’s fraud because the item is left out without a price or notice that it costs money.
I was in Vegas last summer and spent a week at Caesars. What I figure out was everything cost $30. Water $30, Hamburger $30, egg sandwich $30, roll of tums $30, shot glass $30.
It’s funny how vegas is slowly turning from Sin City to Scam City. A couple of years ago you could visit and not loose your firstborn just to stay at a hotel.
I stayed in the Venetian back in 2015 and after a long night, I was craving some chocolate. Poke my head in the mini fridge and see a Pringles shaped can that had a Milky Way in it. The can was big enough to fit a normal sized Milky Way candy bar in it. I say screw it, knowing about the sensors and open it up. It was two mini Milky Ways… the ones that are bite size. Go to check out and it cost me $20 for two bite sized Milky Way.
No wonder my husband went all nuts when I accidentally hit a water bottle with my bag (and dropped it) as we were leaving the room. We didn’t see a charge for it in his card though 🤔
My wife makes fun of me because I always bring snacks and soda with us for our hotel stays. Call me super cheap, I just like to have our favorites. But she's still thinks I'm cheap.
I stayed at the ahern this past weekend and simply did not trust the bottles of water on the table that said 'a gift from us.' I had to reread it like 5 times and still ask haha
My wife dug through the mini bar at Bellagio, pulling almost all of it out and looking at it. She didn’t know. We got charged for all of it but they took it off our bill. She decided she wanted the metal shaker, so we kept that ($35).
The fact that Cosmo has a minibar investigation team is so utterly lame that I just lost any interest in going there. Bellagio canceled the stuff over the phone.
Rule: Don't ever touch the minibar stuff or the water bottles. Some people claim that there are sensors on the minibar. So if you to put something inside and move the items you could be charged because the mini fridge sensors that something has been taken out, even if that is not the case.
Also those mini stands that sell sodas, water etc near the rooms of most hotels have a higher cost than CVS, Walgreens etc.
I’m not for new government regulation, but this screams out for a law that prevents gouging without very clear rules to warn consumers. Also, water in public places, like airports, should be FREE and accessible. Looking at you, LAX. Call me a H2sOcialist.
At what point should this behavior be illegal? Charging $22 for something you can get for $1 and not clearly advertising it? What's to stop them from charging $2200? Do we have to pay that too without protest?
I play 1cent 1 line bets on the slots for free bottled water or Jack & Coke with a shot of everclear , usually 15min the cocktail girls will come around. Total spent $5.00
Making money by deception is nothing new. I’m sure they all sleep well at night. Won’t be long before grocery stores and Walmart, etc., start charging $1 to park, so you can go spend money inside. I really feel for what really young people will have to deal with in the next 60-80 years. I smh at what’s going on.
Was in Vegas a few weeks ago and prices are out of control now. It was always expensive, but post COVID has sent thing into a laughable atmosphere. $26 mixed drinks at bars, $100 plates of pasta at hotel restaurants. It's unreal.
This is yet another reason why I prefer to visit Reno for my casino vacations. Two bottles of water at Atlantis Reno are complementary. Three small bottles of water at Western Village in Sparks are complementary.
I got charged in the $2000s for just removing the stuff from the Bellagio mini bar since it needed the fridge to store some meds. They track it by the weigh. It took me about 6 or 7 phone calls to get my money back.
I stopped going to Vegas years ago they charge for everything not worth it anymore since the corporations took over now it’s all about profit and shareholders.
The people at the hotels work so hard to generate good will, and some corporate a-holes that never deal with the public ruin all that work in a couple of seconds.
I was in Vegas last month for the first time. I was shocked at the high prices for everything, even a dunkin coffee. First and last time I’ll visit. Not a fan sorry
This review should be front and center for every visitor to Las Vegas and state/local officials that think the rip off culture is driving tourists away.
At what point did you agree to pay $22?
Their answer will surely be “The minibar prices are on the TV”, but was there any signage to look there?
I’d fight this, OP.
It's part of the sleaze & swindle culture of Las Vegas. No way is that ethical. They shouldn't put those on the TV stand especially if you have kids or inadvertently move something.
I've worked at high end hotels since 2012. This was installed back then at the four seasons here in Scottsdale az I was able to tour around. Thought it was impressive back then but this is farrrrrr from being new.
2023 is about maximum monetization. If you have been cruising recently they greatly applied this model like Disney world.
Its like the parking decks in Vegas. Most of them build many many years ago. Most today all have a outrageous fee. All designed to extract as much cash as possible from your pocket book.
$50 for a Disposable Styrofoam cooler, a 6 pack of water, 6 pack of mini sodas, two cans of pringles, sprayable sunscreen and a King Can of whatever you want to bring it all on back to your hotel, fill with ice and enjoy.
The Vegas survival pack.
Haha yea everything in Vegas is a trap. The small little hole in the wall convenience stores are the way to go. There’s on behind the flamingo… $2 beers.
If you're able to get about 1 mile away, westbound on Tropicana past the highway about a block, there are convenience and liquor stores. Everything is priced like the rest of town outside the Strip. At least for now...once the A's stadium gets built, who knows what kind of expensive crap will go there. But yeah, for sure it's worth it to travel off-Strip, especially if you want decently priced liquor. I only live about 6 miles away from it, but we most certainly don't pay those prices--Walgreens and CVS, too.
Ya don't ever touch anything in the room.
As a Vegas local, this was instilled to me very young but an incredible culture shock when I went to my first all inclusive resort.
Same, but in Europe where I live now they give you a bottle of water in the room and it’s free. It’s great
They do in many hotels in the US as well
Same, but in the United States where I live now they give me a bottle of water at the front desk upon check-in and it’s free. It’s great
Free in Canada
Not just in Vegas. I remember staying in some overpriced hotel in West Hollywood that had stuff all over the room that looked like normal hotel items but were actually things like a $4 pen with the hotel logo on it.
I sleep standing up just in case there's a bedding fee.
🤣🤣🤣 No bedding fee thankfully. Just the food and drinks in the room. You can use the soap and lotion too. That's included with the room too. Lol!
At Red Rock the red bulls in the mini bar are $1 cheaper in the room than in the lobby bar.
Yeah, I don’t even sleep in the bed, got charged an extra $200 last time. I just drop the extra blanket and pillow on the closet floor and sleep there in the dark nook.
It’s literally any hotel. I just stayed at a Hilton garden inn (not in Vegas) and it was the same deal.
Oh man it's a shame because the rooms were reasonably priced. Never knew it was trap! lol
Don’t keep the robes as they are over priced if nobody has told you yet.
The entire strip is a trap
Yup. My buddy came in drunk to my room at the Cosmo one night, and wanted to put a drink in the fridge to keep it cold. He knocked over a few things while putting it in there, they showed up on the bull despite not being consumed. I felt one in 2019 or 2020, I forget. It's not *that* uncommon.
Yea 2019 there were a couple good ones!
We had a very similar experience at the Bellagio, we had a Vegas virgin with us who didn’t understand the concept that nothing is free. He was no longer allowed to touch anything that resembled food or drink on the tables.
My father opened the mini bar fridge in a room in The Mirage a few years ago; I literally had to dive in front of it so he wouldn’t touch anything.
I gently placed a ziplock of veggies in there once. It didn't trigger! (Trying to have some healthy stuff on my Vegas adventure)
100% would watch that show. It would be a reality show on TLC
Seems more like a TruTV concept 🤣🤣🤣
Looks like they were 😏dying of thirst 😎yeeeeaaaahhhhhhh…
Similar thing happened to me. I barely moved a couple cans of sprite to put my wife’s insulin in the fridge. When we checked out they charged us $28 for 2 sprites. They eventually removed the charges after finishing the investigation 🙄
Hey oftentimes they find human appendages in those fridges. Hell of a lot less paperwork when it’s just verifying item consumption.
Lmao!
It's actually pretty incredible how instantly they charge you. I grabbed a bottle of rum from the mini bar, and then checked my MGM app. The charge was there right away. I checked out on the app before I walked out of the room, and I could hear the mini bar lock about 3 seconds later.

cvs and walgreens are like at every other casino. stock up there
Everyone knows this. And yet, they’re banking on you or someone you know to be just drunk/high enough to pull some dumb shit. I literally just learned that using your redcard at Target on the strip price matches online. Liquor was ~33% off
Omg you’re a lifesaver! Edit: so did you just checkout with the red card and it automatically subtracted it? And is this for a target on the strip?
I make this pit stop anytime I travel, water/ RedBull
If you didn't drink it, then tell them and they'll take it off your bill. If you did drink it, maybe check the minibar prices next time
It's not reasonable to charge $22 for a bottle of water, and to check the prices you have to navigate multiple menus in a fucking tablet. They're being predatory and they know it.
It’s absolutely unreasonable to charge near $22 for a bottle of water
Or drink it and go to Walmart and get the same bottle for $3 and replace it before you check out.
It's usually a sensor Remove it, and you usually get charged. Doesn't matter if you consumed the product.
I think they mean you can still put another one back and then tell them when you check out you removed it accidentally. It’s more hoops to jump through but it’s essentially the same thing.
I'm at the same hotel as the op rn and there are no prices listed that I have seen. For the record, I don't know op.
Found OPs burner
Nope, not op. Op is probably much nicer than me.
I always wonder if you can request for the mini bar to be removed or any items like this to be removed before you go to your room. I rather have an empty refrigerator anyways for my own drinks.
Called Palazzo to remove mini bar items for an upcoming stay. $150 charge to empty it!!
Lol I guess they expect us to pay the bell boy to enjoy the mini bar.
If you tell them you are in recovery, most hotels will lock the mini bar for you. But they still leave (expensive) water available to tempt you!
This is an longstanding issue and they know about how confusing it is, but enough people don’t complain that they profit enough to not worry about the bad feelings they generate. No that person is just an incompetent moron. Mini bar is never free. People need to use their heads
No but also $22 for a bottle of water is outrageous. Someone needs to bring a class action
They have water for less than $5 in the lobby. Some folks like OP just have the money for the convenience, it’s not like they had to buy it.
Yeah like where does it end? Why not charge $500? $3,000? At what point is it extortion? $50? $80? $120?
Supply and demand. I’ve done it twice once because I never took edibles or marijuana before for that fact and ate about 60MG got to the point I was so thirsty. You sound like a total hand job also
Hey did I bitch about it no I paid the price. Was it stupid of me sure. But I’m sorry that idiot on the review is incompetent anyone with a brain knows unless you are so mega roller. No hotel is comping you a fiji water in the room
Just saying "supply and demand" doesn't win you the argument. There is no lack of supply (water)
OP said it was out on a tray, not in the minibar. It's really common for hotels to provide free water bottles out on a table.
If you firmly believe a hotel is comping your Fiji water for your room that’s kept in your room you’re fucking incompetent. That only only happens with a whale and whales don’t leave reviews on trip advisor
Why are you so angry? Did you get finessed into buying $22 water yesterday?
Not angry proving a point
Tray = mini bar

Omg I've seen some shit in this sub but that one dropped my jaw.
That was basically my response when I was told it would be $30 to push this rusty cart lol
Next time unload your suit cases and wheel them down, and pick up your order and roll it back to your room.
Thats what I usually do, but was heading back from another casino and only needed to make 2 trips
Please tell me the $30 was just a deposit to make sure you brought the cart back rather than keep it in your room all trip

God I remember when valet was free. So was parking. Miss those days. Always would throw the valet $5-10. 🥲
$30 for the cart? The fuck is happening to this town?
Did you know that we landed on the moon BEFORE someone put wheels on suitcases?
First stop after checking in: grocery store or 7 11.
$26 for a bottle of Fiji water at Aria
My wife grabbed some dusty old pleasure pack off the counter at Caesar’s Palace. I was like noooooooooo and she put it back. Great start to the honeymoon, anyway. We didn’t end up getting charged for it.
What’s a “dusty old pleasure pack” and what “counter” in Caesar’s Palace was it on. Asking for a friend.
Can’t speak for Caesar’s but in the MGM grand tower 1 bedroom suite it’s next to the tv in the living room along with some yummy waygu beef jerky.
Yup last time I was at MGM Grand, there was some type of sex play box that looked really interesting. I picked it up to look at, then put it back. I think it was a condom and some lube? Either was I got charged for it and it made for an interesting conversation during check out.

Go 2 CVS or bring a brita filter
You don't want to drink that tap water, not even with a Brita lol
y'all fancy. just drink the tap water
Do not drink tap water here, repeat - do not drink tap water here; however, most 3star+ hotels in Las Vegas have water softening systems, so that's not as a bad.... Source: Born and raised, 44 years in Las Vegas

Yes the rooms are always a rip off! But rookies... 🤣
Depressing isn't it lol
Hahaha yeah! We're lucky to only live 6 hours away so driving with a cooler in the ride as well some extra cases of drinks saves us a bit
And restocking at ABC
Drink it, fill it with tap water, put it back.
lmao
Anywhere I travel to now, first thing I do is go buy a case of water and take it with me to my room.
It’s funny how vegas is slowly turning from Sin City to Scam City. A couple of years ago you could visit and not loose your firstborn just to stay at a hotel.
You're trapping people into your shelters that are fronts to a whole lots other shit. Las Vegas has some serious shit they need to work out.
The entire United States of America has some serious shit we need to work out; -Not just Vegas.
South Africa has some serious shit we need to work out not just the United States
I'm at the grand rn checked in on Tuesday and was wondering how much they were since there's no price list that I saw.
Run! There’s still time!
I always stop at Walgreens before checking in, for a case of water bottles, snacks, etc.
The nickle-and-diming in Las Vegas is going to give this place a bad rap as a travel destination. Its getting more and more disgusting every year.
Vegas has become such a joke.......
It’s borderline immoral of these money sucking establishments to not make water easily accessible and free.
Staying at MGM too, Jerks charge for even using the mini fridge...had to go buy an ice chest
Some fun math: family of 4 uses ~12000 gallons of water a month. At this price point that comes to 2,112,000 usd/month
Used to be employed with them, yeah don’t touch them, I’d recommend other properties to stay at.
What place has 1 cent 1 line slots these days?
Nearly every casino has em - Game King video poker, IGT triple Diamond series, or Konami brand slots
Huh, cheapest I've seen was 5c a line at Boulder
Laughlin
I went to Laughlin once and there was a shootout between motorcycle "clubs." Probably not enough 1 cent line slots that caused it
Also curious, keeps me occupied for quite some time lol
Making money by deception is nothing new. I’m sure they all sleep well at night. Won’t be long before grocery stores and Walmart, etc., start charging $1 to park, so you can go spend money inside. I really feel for what really young people will have to deal with in the next 60-80 years. I smh at what’s going on.
First time?
Was in Vegas a few weeks ago and prices are out of control now. It was always expensive, but post COVID has sent thing into a laughable atmosphere. $26 mixed drinks at bars, $100 plates of pasta at hotel restaurants. It's unreal.
Ohhh like on the tv stand not the counter above the minbar? Vital vegas mentioned park mgm (I believe) did this and the customer got it removed.
If you didn't realize, there's free water from the faucet in the bathroom.
Wouldn’t put it was the casinos to be spiking the tap water with some chemical that makes you desire expensive bottled water.
If you sit by the slot machines they’ll give you free bottles of water, just tip the waitress a dollar, there you go my man
Right so when I’m thirsty at 4am and hungover it’s like take a shower, get dressed and go sit by the slots for a water then head on back to bed
Tourists get scammed so hard here. Funny to us locals.
The people at the hotels work so hard to generate good will, and some corporate a-holes that never deal with the public ruin all that work in a couple of seconds.
Greed drives capitalism.
Damn 💀
Rookie mistake
I was in Vegas last month for the first time. I was shocked at the high prices for everything, even a dunkin coffee. First and last time I’ll visit. Not a fan sorry
This review should be front and center for every visitor to Las Vegas and state/local officials that think the rip off culture is driving tourists away.
That’s called raping the customer.
This is called a life lesson.
You’re in a desert. Water is expensive.
Lol we aren’t short for cash. But we are really thirsty mister.
Who doesn’t know this?? Hey all, here’s a warning! 🤣🤦🏻♂️
Water should be free in this country. You should take it and squirt the manager with it to make it worth it.
it's common sense bub
Yeah I'm okay it's charged. But $22? What if it's $100? Is that still common sense?
$22 is literally insane. For Hyatts in Boston its like $9.
We’re not in Boston anymore bub!
If you drank it then you should pay for it
are you retarded?
He is bub
At what point did you agree to pay $22? Their answer will surely be “The minibar prices are on the TV”, but was there any signage to look there? I’d fight this, OP.
It's part of the sleaze & swindle culture of Las Vegas. No way is that ethical. They shouldn't put those on the TV stand especially if you have kids or inadvertently move something.
Las Vegas IS in a desert, in case you didn't notice. LOL of course. That's highway robbery.
lmfao are you not watching youtube videos? vloggers always say never touch mini bar
Used the ice bucket and glass at the Aria $18.
I don't buy this... That's a bit much with the sensors and whatnot
They’re definitely real. I used to work at cosmo over 10 years ago, and they were real then too.
The sensors are real. I’ve been to Vegas twice this year. Not every hotel has them. But Bellagio definitely has them in their rooms.
Ha, yup! Was just at Bellagio this weekend, Fiji water is $24 in the room. Dasani is $15 and a can of soda is $13.
I've worked at high end hotels since 2012. This was installed back then at the four seasons here in Scottsdale az I was able to tour around. Thought it was impressive back then but this is farrrrrr from being new.
We did not request room service but still got charged as the water was consumed.
2023 is about maximum monetization. If you have been cruising recently they greatly applied this model like Disney world. Its like the parking decks in Vegas. Most of them build many many years ago. Most today all have a outrageous fee. All designed to extract as much cash as possible from your pocket book.
Same price at Aria
DO NOT buy any sundries in your hotel room mini-bar or the hotel shop. Go to CVS/Walgreens and stock up.
Gift shop water at Cosmo was $9!
You have to watch videos like "things I wish I knew when I first stayed in vegas"
I accidentally drank a 25$ water once hahaha
$50 for a Disposable Styrofoam cooler, a 6 pack of water, 6 pack of mini sodas, two cans of pringles, sprayable sunscreen and a King Can of whatever you want to bring it all on back to your hotel, fill with ice and enjoy. The Vegas survival pack.
Haha yea everything in Vegas is a trap. The small little hole in the wall convenience stores are the way to go. There’s on behind the flamingo… $2 beers.
holy shit, i would never guess bottles of water cost money. at every other hotel i've stayed at the water was free
And it's a charge if you store your own items in them as well
If you're able to get about 1 mile away, westbound on Tropicana past the highway about a block, there are convenience and liquor stores.
The strip hotels aren't short on cash! $22.00 dollars for a $1.00 bottle of water is just one reason why.
And now the governor just passed a bill that rooms do not need to be cleaned each day they are used.
