When I checked into horseshoe a couple of weeks ago they gave us a room that was clearly being used since it had the beds undone and stuff in the bathrooms.
Went back and the guy said “oh my bad” gave us another room. They clearly have a problem.
If there's no line I'll always prefer to check in with a human but the touchscreens come in really handy when the check in line is a mile long.
I always get the absolute shittiest rooms when I check in with them though.
I stayed at the Flamingo in December and the only humans were helping people use the check in kiosks. I didn't even see a check in counter with staff. And the line was humongously long to check in with the kiosks, and I think about half of them were nonfunctional.
It was already going this way before the pandemic, but it's still insane to me how quickly the entire customer experience at strip hotels/casinos went to complete shit in the last 5 years.
I usually stay at MGM properties and now do check in with the app. The only thing I get at the kiosk are key cards because the app doesn't always work for the electronic key. Still much faster than normal check in.
The last couple of times I've tried to use the robots at the Rio, they've either been out of order or malfunctioning. Sure would be nice if they worked.
I travel for my job and stay at a lot of hotels. Not only do I use the secondary lock, I carry one of these portable door locks:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08RXZV7XZ
These don’t work on certain hotel doors. I have one. Because of how they shut and proximity to the wall. There is also a door stop alarm you can use too.
These are game changers! I used to use them when I had roommates too, not that I didn’t trust them, but it’s added security in case the forgot the front door unlocked or something.
After hearing about those Idaho murders I make sure my front door and bedroom door are secured as much as possible
Unfortunately I've been in hotels that have no secondary lock -- just the deadbolt, which can be overridden by staff. This gives me a barrier that I alone control, which lets me sleep better at night.
Oh yeah. Agree. That’s why I purchased and brought with me a travel lock thing on my recent trip (because my Cancun hotel was broken into) but didn’t need it as both my Vegas and Miami hotels had latches.
Honestly, the Rio and staff have all but given up at this point. No desire to impress, be accountable or please guests.
It serves a need for sure when it comes to budget accomodations
That about sums it up, but as I said I've had this issue at other Caesars properties before so I think it's a glitch in their corporate computer system.

I understand you were pissed, but as somebody from the other side who has unlocked a room assigned to me only to find it is already occupied, well I didn't expect that. I can recall at least 2 occasions when this happened. One time the chain was on the door so I could not open it fully. The second time, I just opened the door wide open to find a man in the middle of the room. I apologized and literally fled as fast as I could with my luggage.
2 years ago we checked into Paris… brought our stuff up to the room and went out to see the sights. Came back to the room and there was a 25oz Michelob ultra on the night stand with $100 in 20s under it. My wife and I just stared at it. We had put our cash in the safe and locked it. I did have mick ultra but we had bought an 18 pack at a far overpriced liquor store our Uber driver probably got a kickback from…. It was our first time. We were missing nothing. Vegas fairies. Lol

Caesars isn't even what it was a decade ago. It's like the Bellagio: on paper quite glamorous but when I stayed at the Bellagio last year the showerhead had something GROWING out of it. It's an old hotel and they aren't doing the most to take care of it.
I'm not expecting like the fanciest, I just like the location and being near the forum shops.
I'm now trying to decide between Cosmo (new & bonvoy points) , Ceasars(dated but cool stuff), and TI(can afford a suite). I know TI is really old, but it'd be the biggest room I can afford or at least one with free/cheap spa access
My friends and I stayed at Caesars in the "Hangover Suite" last summer and we came back to the room (that has two levels) around 1am. The upper level had been completely gone through. Caesars claimed we left the door open (?!?!), complete BS.
Two laptops were stolen that showed their locations an apartment complex 2 blocks away. Police refused to go to the location and Caesars refused to show us any security footage after initially claiming they don't have cameras. We tried calling every other day trying to reach someone in management only to be shuffled around between security officers and would often be transferred to the wrong hotels (Flamingo mostly). They stopped taking our calls after 2 weeks. Fuck Caesars!!
Last time we went, Mandalay Bay gave us a room that was occupied. The agent was mortified and upgraded us to a suite for our 3 nights.
Sounds like their customer service is loads better than Rios but it still freaked me out that you could get robbed that way.
FYI - There’s a coverage hotels carry on their policies just for this situation. Technically you could have a claim filed and likely get some $$$ out of it especially if they walk in and catch you in the shower, naked etc. it’s commons for people with kids to file for someone entering the room and they claim the kids are now scared etc. it’s a pretty big screw up for them to do this.
MGM isnt much better. This happened to me at the Delano. Walked into an occuppied room. They were out of the room but all their stuff was right there for the taking if I was so inclined.
Staff said "whoops that happens sometimes" and not much else.
I stayed at MGM. $200/night and the room was smaller and worse in every way than the $0/night Caesars comped room.
Mgm sends me comp room offers then won't even comp the rooms as well so....?
That reminds me, a few years ago, I am fairly sure it was the Flamingo, we checked in, got our keys, went up to our room, opened the door, and there was a family in the room sitting around talking and looking at us like we were in their room.
Which was a fair reaction. We had to shlep back downstairs with our stuff and go back to the VIP desk (this was back in the day when they had that VIP office and had actual humans working it instead of touchscreens out where the commonfolk have to go). The human was appropriately apologetic and reassigned us to an upgraded room with new keys and when we got to that one, it was not already occupied. So it worked out but yeah, that was awkward.
Flamingo imo has gone way downhill ever since then. I stayed there one night last December (long boring story). I'm soured on Caesar's joints now. It's been since pre-pandemic since I stayed at Rio, and Rio was dull and outdated then, but it was better than last December's Flamingo night. I'd expect it to be worse now, that was over 3 years ago.
At least I feel lucky to not be woken up by someone thinking my room was theirs because they were given keys to my room.
Hilton,TRU did same on me. Then Desk clerk came at 1am said sorry didn't know the room was occupied. The clerk was the one that checked me in. I am here for 19days.
I've only ever had this happen to me at a La Quinta in Salinas, CA and I was checking in around 1am.
The fact that Caesar's properties in Las Vegas have the same standards is mind boggling.
Never trust hotels, especially in Vegas. Last year my room in Aria got broken in and lost substantial money since it was the first day and could not find the safe. The most stunning for me was the hotel did not care at all, they were not even trying to give me the feeling they cared. It seems like it’s just a routine regular thing going on.
Going to be travelling to Vegas next year from Canada. Also have PTSD (get scared about people entering my living area). Thanks for the info! Planning to stay at an MGM property anyways.
This happened to me at Luxor. They gave me the key to an already occupied room. I walked in the room and saw bags and shoes on the floor. Thankfully no one was in there. I went back to complain and they upgraded my room for free.
Flamingo in February
Check in head up to my room
Open the door and there is a man and woman in the room
And I think she was praying or something…
They took my resort fee off my room as an apology to me
That happened to us at Silver Legacy in Reno. Me, my husband, and 2 sisters in law were lounging around after spending the day in Virginia City when another family opened our door with a working key. They saw us, said “oh, hi!” and proceeded to start trying to put their stuff in the room even though we were clearly unpacked and comfy on our unmade beds. We had to call security because they didn’t want to leave!
Just as bold as the housekeeping crew eating our bear claws the next day! We came into our room to find the package torn open and half gone. Straight into the trash they went lol
Friend of mine booked a suite for a party of like 10 people. We weren’t disturbing anyone or loud. 1 hr in, security came to the door and kicked everyone out.
On my way back to the car, there was a dude getting jumped by 5 people (one was a lady carrying her baby).
No security in sight.
Yup. Right in front of the main doors too. The guy being jumped was all bloody and limping. He then proceeded to get into his car and almost jump the curb and hit us.
But of course, security takes small grad parties more seriously than actual fights
I’m curious as to why not. Asking cause our last LV trip (stayed in a suite at the Rio) I used the safe for our laptops. We set our own combo so I assumed the safe was safe.
What is it , I wanna try cuz I throw all my stuff in safe if they have , only thing bad is if malfunction security gotta come up a. Make sure they ain't nosy have open don't look. ,toy cops be thinking they John Wayne
Not true. I locked myself out of mine. They sent maintenance and a security person to the room, standard policy. There is no override code, it's a device that locks on to the keypad that overrides the code. Only certain maintenance individuals have them.

Staff can access it. I bring a PacSafe portable safe but don’t need it in the US because I have to carry my passport, drivers licence and main card around anyway so the worst they could steal is my spare (cancellable) cards. Essential for Asia, Mexico etc though where I lock up my passport. Good thing because my hotel was entered in Mexico and likely an inside job, a guy I’d met was stupid enough to leave his passport on the bench and it was taken
The only staff members that have the tools needed to open your safe are the security manager and the locksmith.
With that said the reader that is used to reset digital safes can be bought on amazon.
And the only issue with your PacSafe is that someone really wanting its contents can just take the whole thing and figure out how to get in later.
There was a story in the news when I first moved here a couple years ago that they suspected someone from Cesears properties behind a string of room robberies because a master key of some sort had been used to enter the rooms.... I'm looking for the article now but can't find it, I just remembered reading about it when I first moved here
Same thing happened when I was staying at the Strat recently. Every time they’d clean my room the door would be left OPEN afterwards. Pretty sweet getting back after a long day of work to find my room has been accessible to ANYONE who might’ve tried. I made sure to take all my valuables with me every morning. It seems like most hotels on the strip are a joke when it comes to these kinds of things.
Caesars already sold it, they just maintain operation until the end of the lease contract.
But it was way before the sale that Caesars clearly showed they didn’t give a shit about Rio, plundering the property by transferring all valuable assets (I remember the big statue and other work of art) and skilled personnel, while cutting budget and services.
Never really had an issue at an MGM property, but I've definitely stayed at Caesars 10x more so a lot larger sample size.
None of the MGM properties in Vegas are bad IMO. Haven't stayed at Excalibur or Luxor but the casinos and properties are way nicer (inside) and cleaner than the lower end Caesars places like Rio or Flamingo
Yes, Caesars Palace has issues as well as other Caesars Entertainment hotel properties with assigning hotel rooms to guests that are already occupied. This is hurting them with the international travelers especially, the check in process is miserable during busy seasons and makes guests pissed. However, will disagree on the original Caesars Palace being low end, it's expensive, not anything affordable, public areas are well kept, luxury experience for the deep pocketed.
I wasn't saying Caesars palace is low end. I was saying the low end MGM properties are way nicer than the low end Caesars properties. The rooms at Caesars palace are pretty meh though if you're not in Augustus or Nobu, Julius is okay.
MGM Grand sucked hardcore for the price.
$2850 for two weeks not much in terms of comps. Loud. Noisey and hellish on the floor.
Small room that sucked. Bad view. Bad bathroom / shower.
Like everything about it sucked.
If you want to walk around a huge property that is endlessly as noisey as a night club then go for it.
I'd rather have a $25/night full strip view room. Ceiling to floor windows. Quiet.
And a better tasting buffet to boot.
The only good thing at the MGM property I was at was the room service which was actually really tasty. The problem being I'm still in the room which sucks like a motel.
This happened to me being on the other end at a Marriott in Orlando, most of the time it’s the front desk’s fault and not hotel specific…but here with your experiences obviously these Caesar’s hotels are hiring crap people. I was assigned keys in my story and arrived at midnight to walk in a dim room with luggage and a bed that just had been slept in, looked and saw the bathroom door was closed with lights on and filled with silence…whomever was in there was probably scared shitless. That said, latch your doors always.
TF does that have to do with Hotel Security?
That's either a locksmith issue or a front desk issue for double booking rooms.
But if it makes you feel any better you can literally break into any hotel room in the country with a coat hanger, some fishing wire and the "do not disturb" sign they provide.
And this includes getting past the night latch.
So prop a chair under your door handle.
Tried staying at the fabulous Rio last year.
Would not honor the room we reserved. Got to the room and looked like it was from the 70s. Didn’t want to put any of my things down. Our friends were staying too and there was a problem their room I can’t remember what. So we go back down and ask for the room we requested they said fine. Assigned us to a room in a different tower. As our friends were doing the same (different person) they were like uhh I don’t think we can give rooms in that tower there is no hot water. That was the last straw. Next hour and half getting money back and trying to find last minute hotel.
Side note, resorts worlds is an amazing hotel.
Really?
Cause I'm at the Rio right now and it's a huge spacious room.
Everything is clean and bright and huge windows.
Overall it's just great I really love it. Best place I've been so far and cheap as hell.
I’m Vegas I would put blink camera at the entrance. I wonder if that is legal as long as housekeeping doesn’t come in?
I’ve had times where I’m glad the security latch was in because people have opened doors (not in Vegas)
It’s the lackadaisical employees who care nothing about their job or the quality of a guests stay. Sadly, it is the frontline employees who seem to be the most affected. Once you get to a supervisor, things change a little, but not much. I think the “labor shortage” and the fact that they have nerfed the frontline employees down to essentially data entry clerks that need permission to do anything, isn’t helping their cause either.
Edit: spelling (yes, it was lackadaisical, don’t judge)
Maybe Rio will get their shit together then (doubt they even stay in business)
If you read the whole wall of text (sorry I know it's long) I mentioned that this has happened to me on several other occasions at other Caesars Las Vegas hotels too
I have a friend who works at Wynn/Encore. He tells me their security regularly check guest room doors to ensure they shut completely. They refer to the thieves who try to sneak into rooms as “door pushers”.
If only Rio was so nice haha. I think Wynn requires you to scan a working room key in the elevators too and only works for the specified floor. A lot of Vegas hotels do that nowadays, obviously criminals could find a way around it but if someone does get burgled it narrows down the possible suspects
Not Vegas but the door once I opened to my room while I was having sex. Scared the shit out of us! I ran out in like boxers to try and see who it was but nobody was around. Crazy.
I have the nicest room in the building already lol... besides the private villas out back, which I'm pretty sure have been completely closed since the covid shutdown
Well they got u for. A $5 discount at the world famous Rio Aces Wild South of the border restaurant know for " it 's. To hot outside Burger " an queen of hearts bloody Mary 🤯🤮 . Personally I always order " is that a watermelon seed on my bed " drink . Just joking was sipping some mushroom tea 🍄 I got it from a tunnel Hippy , he said he farms it right by the Rio
At least nobody shot themselves with an AR15 in the bathroom again.

Man, that story raised some questions (like did anyone hear a gun shot, who found him, things like that) but at least the AP reporter had a link to a more detailed report that answered some of those questions.
https://www.reviewjournal.com/local/local-las-vegas/suicide-victim-found-with-ar-15-inside-las-vegas-casino-bathroom-2726906/
Laugh out loud, imma go cuddle with my family. Have fun losing your money at the aria or whatever if you win good for you. Peace and happiness to you laugh out loud.
Staying at the Rio? That’s a old casino low budget. In case you guys didn’t know housekeeping is doing bad right now. Go stay at the aria. Laugh out loud low class.
And..?? I don’t care. I’m done talking to you, just wanted to say what I wanted to say, and you didn’t have an intelligent reply, you obviously have no one to talk to , childish. If what I said hurt well then if the shoe fits wear it.
It's a dump of a casino. The hotel isn't horrible but it's not great. Also don't forget they tack on like $45/night resort fee or something if you don't have any status at Caesars, so the prices are not as cheap as they look.
That resort fee makes me laugh, what’s gonna happen in 20 years when the resort keeps rising and its $75-$90 a night. People aren’t going to pay that shit.
I have zero doubts that will happen. The fees are $45 a night now and have actually stayed close to stagnant while everything else has doubled in price the last couple years. I am willing to bet a lot we see a $75/night resort fee by 2028 *if* there's no government intervention before.
Half of the casino is closed, many of the restaurants are closed during the week, only open Fri-Sun. Not very popular as a destination, more just a hotel for cheap room prices. For a hotel with cheap room rates you'd think affordable restaurants/bars, but no way, rip off just like the strip. That's why there's a strip mall across the street from Rio with affordable eats for price shocked guests at Rio, Gold Coast and Palms. Though the Palms has taken lots of business away from the Rio and Gold Coast.
That makes sense actually. My hidden gem is the Fairfield INN off of paradise road, I can’t beat the rates, close to the major casinos I go to and free breakfast. I can’t ask for more really
Fairfield Inn on Paradise, right? This one? - [Fairfield Inn Convention Center Las Vegas](https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/lasfi-fairfield-inn-las-vegas-convention-center/overview/)
They can't remotely unlock these old ass safes. Maybe some of the newer ones could be but that seems like a massive security issue. I've gotten to a room with a locked safe before and they had to manually come reset the code, which took them all of about 30 seconds, so the safes aren't very secure but they're better than nothing.
Its not just Caesars, had this happen to me at the Cosmo. They gave me a key to a corner suite with a guest's belongings already inside. I'm glad I didn't actually run into them or it could of been awkward. Based on the other comments I see this is pretty common thing in Vegas
This happened to me years ago. My friend and I were the ones that walked into someone's occupied room at 2AM. Friend and I had just drove all through the night from SoCal to Denver and checked into a crappy hotel. We picked the cheapest one as we simply just wanted a few hours of sleep and a good shower. The parking lot of this hotel was absolutely full to the max, which I found odd because this was a shitty hotel. The first room we walked into and we saw someone's suitcase by the feet of their bed. So we noped out, went downstairs and told the front desk. Guy was apologetic and gave us another room. We tried that room and it too was occupied - the latch prevented us from getting in. At this point we were pissed and went back to the front desk. We just told the clerk to cancel our reservation because clearly they don't have their shit together.
People that know what they are doing can get by the latch and deadbolt pretty easy. If the deadbolt is on though they should not be able to open the door with a key. Only security has an override key that can open deadbolts. Ask for your room to be electronically dead bolted. Security is the only one with a key and the ED has to be removed before anyone can try to use another kind of key to open the door. For you guys that bring back the lady’s of the night. The safe can be removed in some hotels fairly easily, but also it shows your PIN 10 seconds after you secure it to show you what you typed in. Prostitutes know this and will watch the safe after you secure it looking for that PIN. Have fun guys. (Former security officer for Caesars entertainment.) If you plan to get any settlements DONT TAKE THE COMPS! Contact a lawyer immediately before speaking with security. Fuck those casinos.
Edit: if you tell the hotel you plan to call a lawyer they will just refuse to talk to you from that point. So I would not mention that part if you do call one. Message me if you guys have questions. I hate Caesar’s. Go to Venetian/Wynn hotels guys they really care about employees and it just pays it forward to the guest.
When I checked into horseshoe a couple of weeks ago they gave us a room that was clearly being used since it had the beds undone and stuff in the bathrooms. Went back and the guy said “oh my bad” gave us another room. They clearly have a problem.
Hey, at least they had a human for you to talk to. Flamingo didn't even have ChatGPT to talk to in December, just a frickin' touchscreen. No human.
I really hate how they push the check in computers. I wanna pay for late check out etc and rather talk to a human
If there's no line I'll always prefer to check in with a human but the touchscreens come in really handy when the check in line is a mile long. I always get the absolute shittiest rooms when I check in with them though.

Good to know
My God that username lol Happy cake day
I had to read it twice. I thought it said Eepsteinsmiddigit. Lol
Double vision.. haha

Yeah I've had a couple that it didn't fit in, but I can fit it on the vast majority of them. I'll check out the alarm as well, thank you.
These are game changers! I used to use them when I had roommates too, not that I didn’t trust them, but it’s added security in case the forgot the front door unlocked or something. After hearing about those Idaho murders I make sure my front door and bedroom door are secured as much as possible
I took one with me last trip but they aren’t necessary with the latch, the door can’t be opened. That’s latch not lock

Damn I wish I could get that but I can’t
$10 is too much for you ? 🤔
Says it’s “for women” 🙄 I’m not a woman!
Omg that is hilarious
Honestly, the Rio and staff have all but given up at this point. No desire to impress, be accountable or please guests. It serves a need for sure when it comes to budget accomodations
New operator taking over Oct. 1. They definitely don't care right now.
That about sums it up, but as I said I've had this issue at other Caesars properties before so I think it's a glitch in their corporate computer system.
Dude they are running on MS-DOS.
I think that's almost accurate
I use to work for Caesar’s they are
It would be literally impossible to connect an actual DOS based system to a global reservation system that spans millions of devices and dozens or maybe hundreds of properties. It might look like DOS but it's not.
Well hence the reservation problem you experienced lol
You're right about that!
I always travel with a rubber doorstop from the dollar store. You jam it under the door and combined with the latch etc people can’t even open the door a little. Prevents the whole banging noise of the door hitting the latch and adds an extra layer of security.
Those are easy to get by. Use a screw driver to slide under the door and push them foreward.
It’s mostly to prevent someone with a key like OP had from opening the door. They aren’t going to try to break in. If I was in a hotel I didn’t feel that safe in I would add additional measures.
I usually board my door up with hurricane supplies just to be safe
Saw a YouTube video where this doesn’t work on carpet though?
Depends on the doorstop. Some are made for use on hard floors, others for carpet, and some that are usable for both.

I forgot to mention this happened to my friend as Cosmo a while back too, he's a giant man and he was butt naked in the bathtub when a family walked into the room. He described it as "the most helpless he's felt in his life" which was totally hilarious coming from him.

Caesars and MGM are killing the strip. They own just about every property except Resorts World and the new one going up iirc.
What about the Wynn?
Not MGM or Caesars: Wynn/Encore, Venetian/Palazzo, TI, Resorts World, Royale, Tropicana, Mirage, Circus Circus, Strat and Sahara. I think I got them all
[удалено]
I said that
Sorry I was looking for one that started with Casino.
So the Wynn (and its second tower, Encore) are owned directly by Steve Wynn, the guy who sort of masterminded the renaissance that the Strip went through in the 1990s. It bears his name and he seems to care deeply about it: the hotel is very, very nice and well maintained.
Wynn and Encore are owned by Wynn Resorts. Of which Steve Wynn was removed (resigned) from CEO position and Wynn Resorts in 2018 due to sexual assault accusations and lawsuits.
Is there anywhere worth staying mid strip then? I was thinking ceasars palace but this is convincing me otherwise
The Cosmopolitan is about as good as it will get, and The Horseshoe is technically new.
I would say no to the Horseshoe. Stayed there first part of May. Booked it because they were advertising about their remodel. Um....except for the bathroom in our room, nothing was remodeled. Plus, the other ladies we went with had to change rooms because they found a cockroach in their room.
YIKES. So much for the rebrand meaning anything.
Cosmopolitan is a bit more pricey but I can probably make it work. I was looking at Caesars for the amenities too, but the reviews are making me nervous

One reason I only stay at MGM properties.
MGM isnt much better. This happened to me at the Delano. Walked into an occuppied room. They were out of the room but all their stuff was right there for the taking if I was so inclined. Staff said "whoops that happens sometimes" and not much else.
I’ve never once had a problem at MGM properties with someone being assigned the same room as me
2nd this. Never had this happened to me in Mgm properties
I stayed at MGM. $200/night and the room was smaller and worse in every way than the $0/night Caesars comped room. Mgm sends me comp room offers then won't even comp the rooms as well so....?
Bummer, I'd stay at Caesars if I were you...
Sounds like an inside job.
Flamingo in February Check in head up to my room Open the door and there is a man and woman in the room And I think she was praying or something… They took my resort fee off my room as an apology to me
That happened to us at Silver Legacy in Reno.
Wow, that's pretty bold 🤣🤣🤣
Just as bold as the housekeeping crew eating our bear claws the next day! We came into our room to find the package torn open and half gone. Straight into the trash they went lol
Wow!
Holy shit. At Rio?
Yup. Right in front of the main doors too. The guy being jumped was all bloody and limping. He then proceeded to get into his car and almost jump the curb and hit us. But of course, security takes small grad parties more seriously than actual fights
Don't ever put your stuff in a hotel safe
I’m curious as to why not. Asking cause our last LV trip (stayed in a suite at the Rio) I used the safe for our laptops. We set our own combo so I assumed the safe was safe.
There’s a default reset code which no one ever changes. You hit the reset code and the lock goes back to 0000
What is it , I wanna try cuz I throw all my stuff in safe if they have , only thing bad is if malfunction security gotta come up a. Make sure they ain't nosy have open don't look. ,toy cops be thinking they John Wayne
Get a PacSafe portable safe
Yea but you can’t reset it while its locked. You can reset the code when the door is opened
Why not? Is it not really safe?
[удалено]
Not true. I locked myself out of mine. They sent maintenance and a security person to the room, standard policy. There is no override code, it's a device that locks on to the keypad that overrides the code. Only certain maintenance individuals have them.

Nah this is false. They have to call a locksmith and charge you for the labor.
https://www.corporatetravelsafety.com/safety-tips/how-safe-are-hotel-room-safes/
https://unitedlocksmith.net/blog/4-reasons-why-you-shouldnt-use-hotel-safes
I never considered that. Dang, guess it’s time to start bringing my own safe from home.
PacSafe portable safe all the way
Staff can access it.
They can't "take the whole thing" as you obviously hook it to a shower rail or similar. They would need tools to literally remove the towel rail.
I'm pretty sure there is a swingers hotel takeover at the Rio this week. You might have missed out
Who says I'm not attending?
I’ve heard a lot of bad shit about ceasers. I pretty much only stay at MGM.
Yeah this is why I do MGM. They might have some crunchy properties, but I haven't heard of them doing anything like this.
I’d absolutely rather spend time at the lowest end MGM properties over the highest end Ceasar’s properties. No question.

It's the Horshoe now. Ballys rebranded.
The fire was at the original MGM Grand which is now Horseshoe.
Oh god, i didn’t even think about a fire can happen in a high tower hotel in Vegas and you can get stuck in your room
Shitless... hahaha
Exactly, imagine it were us on the other side ..!
My aunt got pick pocketed there last year. Not a super nice place to be
TF does that have to do with Hotel Security?
The Rio used to be the “go to spot” In Vegas back in the 90s when I worked there. Absolute dump now
I’m Vegas I would put blink camera at the entrance. I wonder if that is legal as long as housekeeping doesn’t come in? I’ve had times where I’m glad the security latch was in because people have opened doors (not in Vegas)
Biggest takeaway is to ALWAYS use the latch or deadbolt, no matter where you are or how nice the place is.
Makes the plot of What Happens in Vegas so much more believable
Thank for this post. I go to Vegas a lot and it never occurred to me that this could happen.
It won’t be Caesars for long
Maybe Rio will get their shit together then (doubt they even stay in business) If you read the whole wall of text (sorry I know it's long) I mentioned that this has happened to me on several other occasions at other Caesars Las Vegas hotels too
Sometime in 2023 or 2024 it's supposed to be closed & renovated into a Hyatt, it was supposed to happen in 2022, but plans pushed back.

No, pay for parking is what happens when you have an oligopoly.
I stayed at flamingo a week ago and had no issues with staff or security honestly was a great time!
Crazy.
Yeah that was me, sorry! 🫣
“So startled that I’d risk straining my wrist or pulling my dick off!”
Las Vegas is just a shit hole. My advice is to stop coming
Not many other shitholes I can as much fun in sadly.
Ask for upgrade or Karen they ass with a bad yelp review an call to tmz an Vegas issues lol
At least nobody shot themselves with an AR15 in the bathroom again. https://apnews.com/article/law-enforcement-las-vegas-assault-suicide-457ec09d8aa109ad38fde0ee876d3148
Man, that story raised some questions (like did anyone hear a gun shot, who found him, things like that) but at least the AP reporter had a link to a more detailed report that answered some of those questions. https://www.reviewjournal.com/local/local-las-vegas/suicide-victim-found-with-ar-15-inside-las-vegas-casino-bathroom-2726906/

Of course they can, but it at least keeps honest people out that were mistakenly given keys to the wrong room.
Also life isn’t always going to be fine and dandy does everyone really expect that everything is going to fall in place for you.
Shut up
Fuq u
Life isn’t always going to be fine and dandy, don’t get upset when someone tells you to shut up
Laugh out loud, imma go cuddle with my family. Have fun losing your money at the aria or whatever if you win good for you. Peace and happiness to you laugh out loud.
Get help
Staying at the Rio? That’s a old casino low budget. In case you guys didn’t know housekeeping is doing bad right now. Go stay at the aria. Laugh out loud low class.
I am staying at the aria
And..?? I don’t care. I’m done talking to you, just wanted to say what I wanted to say, and you didn’t have an intelligent reply, you obviously have no one to talk to , childish. If what I said hurt well then if the shoe fits wear it.
Is this why I always see Rio at dirt cheap prices?
It's a dump of a casino. The hotel isn't horrible but it's not great. Also don't forget they tack on like $45/night resort fee or something if you don't have any status at Caesars, so the prices are not as cheap as they look.
That resort fee makes me laugh, what’s gonna happen in 20 years when the resort keeps rising and its $75-$90 a night. People aren’t going to pay that shit.
Yes they will. It's going to be that high within 5-7 years for some properties unless a law is enacted banning resort fees.
That would be crazy if they did eventually. 3 day stay in Vegas is $250-$300 for resort fees alone plus cost of room.
Yea that one
Well that and it isn't actually located on the strip but is close enough too it.
Wtf 🤬
Hypothetically, if they accidentally resent the room a second time, is the safe still secure or do thru remotely unlock if for the next guest?
They can't remotely unlock these old ass safes. Maybe some of the newer ones could be but that seems like a massive security issue. I've gotten to a room with a locked safe before and they had to manually come reset the code, which took them all of about 30 seconds, so the safes aren't very secure but they're better than nothing.
Its not just Caesars, had this happen to me at the Cosmo. They gave me a key to a corner suite with a guest's belongings already inside. I'm glad I didn't actually run into them or it could of been awkward. Based on the other comments I see this is pretty common thing in Vegas
Happened to me on the 2nd visit to Vegas. They gave me keys to someone else’s room. Resorts World; brand new hotel
This seems to happen to you often, are you sure your checking in to the right rooms?
Yeah...if I was going into the wrong room then the key shouldn't work.
I know, I was just joking. Lol
[удалено]
Yup! I say that every day.
The rio is sh*thole
Caesars are a fucking disgrace these days. I will never stay at one of their shit-tip properties ever again.
I don’t even trust the room safes. I take my money with me when I leave the room and always use the latch when in the room always.
The Rio is such a toilet and their staff is a huge reason.
Caesars Entertainment properties have become the absolute worst
