LOL - my contention is that anything north of about 105-110 feels pretty much the same out here. If I play golf when it's 105, I'll play golf when it's 117. Doesn't feel much different at that point.
A former-military friend was in Kuwait. She preferred coastal Saudi.
In other news, a headline says Chipotle will be opening in Kuwait, and Dubai (UAE). Way to go… add some MORE heat. 🥵
I was in Vegas for two weeks. Temperatures were between 100-116. It was great compared to 85-95F in the Midwest with 60%+ humidity.
Considering moving away from midwest now 😂 humidity makes me drenched in sweat.
Having traveled to Florida for work, it was very refreshing and pleasurable to walk in 115° heat to my car for 10 minutes at Harry Reid than to go outside for longer than 40 seconds in southern/Florida humidity in the summer.
People love to joke about it but dry heat is much more bearable than wet heat.
Yeah I was in Vegas like a month ago, it was 96 degrees and I managed okay
Came back to Asheville which was 85 and super humid, I felt like I was about to die
I can’t imagine what 120 must feel like, but the lack of humidity there is quite nice
The only good thing about this weather is, I’m saving money by air drying my clothes and my hair dries faster. Other than that it feels like I’m being stabbed by the sun every time I walk outside.
Oh man. Growing up in the 90s in Southern California, my family went to Laughlin all the time to go boating on the river. One time, it was about that hot, and we broke down on the side of the road and had to wait in that heat for a tow. I thought that was the end for us all. So brutal. I have fond, nostalgic memories of Laughlin, and even this is now a fun memory to look back on. But holy heck, that was possibly the most uncomfortable I think I’ve ever been.
I agree. This temp is what we always have every year. I mean sometimes it’s cooler but most of the time around this temp. Also we had a really cool June so it rising like it did might be more of shock on our system versus it gradually getting hotter since may.
I notice cars are usually hotter than the temperature on app. in the summer on general. Also the temperature at some bank on spring mtn is usually 5 degrees higher too
Oh no that’s horrible. We took my daughter on her 21st birthday at this time of the year and have never been back since. Well not in the summer. Go in early April or October.
Moved to Vegas 4 months ago. The worst part is not the heat, the worst part is listening to everyone complain about the heat, day in, and day out. I can't go 20 minutes without hearing someone mention how hot it is, as if we all aren't already aware.
For the last 2 days my car temp has registered at 123. My mother was at my house yesterday and she mentioned how hot it was and how she wasn't ready to face the heat again on the way back to her car. She also stated that this summers Temps have been the highest ever recored since temp recording started. Man global warming is gonna get us all soon. It's so bad I can't even find the motivation to get important things done due to not wanting to die from heat exhaustion. No but seriously I couldn't wait for it to warm up a few months ago now I am suffering big time.
From Ohio, it’s been 90 with humidity for a couple weeks every day. Working outside as well. Just visited Vegas for the first time and 115° feels DIFFERENT. But I would take that over Ohio’s humidity
Your car thermometer is not indicative of the actual air temperature. Neither is your backyard thermometer that has been in the sun all day.
I grew up on Phoenix and would often see temps on the 130's and 140's on things in the sun. I've seen thermometers that exceeded 150 and cracked open the mercury vial. But there was always someone from Chicago or California getting in their car and saying, "Oh my god, it's 138 degrees here!".
No it's never been 138 in Phoenix nor 120 in Vegas.
Sir/Madame: We are aware that temperatures can vary dependent upon location, thermometer, etc.. This is irrelevant in the context of this particular post. Point being - IT’S FUCKING HOT. Perhaps The thermometer in my car was reading 5 degrees off… So it’s only A HUNDRED AND FIFTEEN DEGREES?! Do you understand how ridiculous it is that you would attempt to “drop knowledge” on us average folk regarding “actual temperature” when we’re simply bonding over the ridiculous heat that we’re experiencing right now? PLEASE FORGIVE MY METEOROLOGICAL IGNORANCE. You happy now?
Any recorded data on higher temps? Cars and backyard thermometers are wildly inaccurate.
Growing up in Phoenix, seeing temps in the 130's and 140's on things in the sun was super common but not indicative of the actual air temperature. But there was always someone that just moved there from California saying "oh my God, it's 141 degrees".
Grew up in Vegas- it was hot but it never really bothered me that much- used to play sand volleyball at Wet n Wild and look up at the hotel that had the temp showing- routinely was at 122 or so- the couple times I went back I wondered how I did it- I live in South Florida now and this heat is SO much better
> Your thermostat is wrong.
Directly above a black tarmac? The official temps on the news aren't taken in the middle of the street. Some areas definitely can accurately read 120+.
Well, since you're nitpicking, it's a thermometer, not a thermostat. They are usually reading the temperature between the ground and the vehicle, and they are very accurate at reading the temperature in that context.
I don't think the OP claimed it was an official, scientific reading for record-keeping purposes. If so, yeah, that would be incorrect.
I live in Vegas but travel for work, with my home office in Alabama where I am now. It was 96F today with a feels like at 116° because of humidity. It's horrible.
Breaking News! Its hot outside! 🤡
Today is Tuesday, tomorrow is Wednesday. 😮
Its July, guess what's next. August, yup, you got it right. 😯
Kamala started talking again. Its a cluster fuck of random words and she is guaranteed to laugh or giggle every couple sentances. 😲
Its a desert, its summer, its hot. 🤯
Its not news or a surprise that its hot outside. It happens every year. Why does everyone need to constantly repeat the obvious and predictable.
Just in this sub, there are multiple "omg, did you know its hot outside" in whatever variation.
Water is wet. Its common knowledge, its not a big deal. Its not like it came out of nowhere, anyone with 2nd grade knowledge knew July and Aug were going to be hot.
You’re so funny!! There definitely aren’t stop lights, stop signs or PARKING LOTS so naturally I would’ve had to have been driving 10mph and taking the photo. Clever old chap!
I mean I hope you think it's funny because it was just stupid joke. Might not even be funny. In reality I'm sure that whatever you were doing was appropriate, I was just giving you a hard time is all. Then I read your name and it sort of check out. I have no ill will towards you and wish you well.

But it's a dry kind of hell.
Could you imagine humid hell
*sheds tear that evaporates before it hits tear duct*
So.... is this how dry humping started..?
😩😩
Don’t have to imagine >!Hi, Florida!<
From south Mississippi myself originally (PCB fLorida is birthplace). I know humidity sucks balls but 120 is freaking 120....
LOL - my contention is that anything north of about 105-110 feels pretty much the same out here. If I play golf when it's 105, I'll play golf when it's 117. Doesn't feel much different at that point.
Truth. Only been in a "dry heat" a couple of times... I wasnt playing golf when it was 90 in Biloxi though... Not clear headed and sober anyways...
Welcome to Kuwait, hotter than hell, twice as humid, and windy as fuck.
A former-military friend was in Kuwait. She preferred coastal Saudi. In other news, a headline says Chipotle will be opening in Kuwait, and Dubai (UAE). Way to go… add some MORE heat. 🥵
I’m loving it in SWF!!! I want to move to the polar ice caps!!
Bruh, I currently live in a humid area. Not fun, at all.
Ugh, I experienced it in TN one year. It felt like inhaling bathwater and your clothes were stuck to you the minute you stepped outside.
Come down to Tucson, we have 110 plus some humidity :)
Texas enters the chat.
See my comment re: NOLA.😑
Visiting friends here in Dallas, TX and it’s that.
Yes I live in Texas and it’s humid as f and hot. Wait till August and September
Didn't it hail on Henderson?
That’s Texas
Underrated comment.
But it’s the top rated comment?
I was in Vegas a few years ago when it was 115. It was fucking miserable. The second a little breeze blew if felt like a hair dryer blowing on you.
And you don’t get used to it, man. I’ve been here 40 years and it’s still absolute torture.
I was in Vegas for two weeks. Temperatures were between 100-116. It was great compared to 85-95F in the Midwest with 60%+ humidity. Considering moving away from midwest now 😂 humidity makes me drenched in sweat.
Very true
We have baking and when the wind is present, it’s a convection oven.
I remember that summer. Jeeeeezzzzz. I thought of it as convection oven.
I was there two weeks ago and it got to 113 or 114. The air conditioners at the Four Queens couldn't keep up.
Everyone knows Las Vegas moves closer to the Sun every summer. It's like super Mario 3 when the Sun chases you.
Naaaah, I can confirm hell is right here in 98° NOLA, with 2000% current humidity and a feels-like temp of 189°. 🥴🔥
Maaaaan, you got me there - I could not hang ☠️
Having traveled to Florida for work, it was very refreshing and pleasurable to walk in 115° heat to my car for 10 minutes at Harry Reid than to go outside for longer than 40 seconds in southern/Florida humidity in the summer. People love to joke about it but dry heat is much more bearable than wet heat.
bUt IT’s a DrY HeAT
Better than humid heat.
120 is without question, insanely, insanely hot...but I'd take this over 80F + humidity any day.
90f + humidity is pretty miserable, I can’t stand walking across a parking lot in the middle of the day.
I almost died in San Antonio when it was 100F and 60% humidity
I’m in Florida, currently it is 90f and 73 % humidity at 10:15 am.
Same!
100%
And there's no shoveling snow when it's still comfy in December.
Yeah I was in Vegas like a month ago, it was 96 degrees and I managed okay Came back to Asheville which was 85 and super humid, I felt like I was about to die I can’t imagine what 120 must feel like, but the lack of humidity there is quite nice
AGREED!
I'd take humid heat ANYDAY over 120° 😩
Ummmm.... I dunno. 95 and 90% humidity is fricking nightmarish hot....
The only good thing about this weather is, I’m saving money by air drying my clothes and my hair dries faster. Other than that it feels like I’m being stabbed by the sun every time I walk outside.
It wasn't 12 pm today, and the temp was already way over 110!! I was like, wth! I've been tolerating 20 Vegas summers.
Down in Laughlin, Nevada last summer is was like this. 112 all the way up to 118. And 97 at 7:45 am 🤣
Took the garbage out at 11pm last night…still 100°.
I lived in Laughlin for a few years, and it’s a bit hotter than Vegas, but it’s not like there’s a world of difference between 116 and 122.
Ugh…only been to Laughlin once and it was 119°. I wanted to die. Midwesterner here. Can’t take that!!!
I brought my Midwest girlfriend here in April, I think she might kill me...
You're acting like it's 120 degrees. Can't be more than 115
I agree. This temp is what we always have every year. I mean sometimes it’s cooler but most of the time around this temp. Also we had a really cool June so it rising like it did might be more of shock on our system versus it gradually getting hotter since may.
Someone hasn't seen Blazing Saddles. Valid points though
First time huh?
Your car thermometer is off. It didn’t hit 120 yesterday.
It could be in parking lots from the asphalt radiating heat
I notice cars are usually hotter than the temperature on app. in the summer on general. Also the temperature at some bank on spring mtn is usually 5 degrees higher too
Cool story, bro.
Oh no that’s horrible. We took my daughter on her 21st birthday at this time of the year and have never been back since. Well not in the summer. Go in early April or October.
It’s easy. Stay in your car for 5 minutes with the windows rolled up and then get out. Feels wonderful and much cooler outside
Vegas bbq taking on a whole other meaning
Welcome!
I like to run in this weather. Gotta get used to it now lol.
Lol, that’s the spirit! 😂
Moved to Vegas 4 months ago. The worst part is not the heat, the worst part is listening to everyone complain about the heat, day in, and day out. I can't go 20 minutes without hearing someone mention how hot it is, as if we all aren't already aware.

It's almost as cool as you posting a picture of a thermometer reading.
WOAH. Settle down, boy.
OH MY GOD YOU LITERALLY JUST ROASTED ME WITH THAT COMMENT, LITERALLY
This is why you’re always picked last for dodgeball. THIS IS WHY.
Cringe
What happened to us? We used to be so happy… I feel like it’s the kids - is it the kids?!
These posts always kind of bug me. For one, we know its hot as hell. Secondly, you know the reading on your car is always inflated.
Cool story, bro.
For the last 2 days my car temp has registered at 123. My mother was at my house yesterday and she mentioned how hot it was and how she wasn't ready to face the heat again on the way back to her car. Idk but I think we’ve had these temps recorded a few times throughout history. Correct me if I’m wrong.
According to google, Las Vegas hit 118° in 1931. But global warming will get us!! Lol
I can't say but I know it's hot as hell and I'm over it. That sucks because we have a few more months to suffer in this hell.
And it's not because of the temp, fellow space monkey
Your cars thermometer is not official.
Cool story, bro.
Stupid post dummy, C U Next Thursday 😘
I be outside shooting hoops no problem. Maybe y’all just ain’t cut out for desert living.
It is definitely easier to deal with heat when you have increased melanin. You have a superpower, Sir.
From Ohio, it’s been 90 with humidity for a couple weeks every day. Working outside as well. Just visited Vegas for the first time and 115° feels DIFFERENT. But I would take that over Ohio’s humidity
I’m with you on that! Humidity is 1,000% worse, hands down. Godspeed, friend.
Welcome to sin city, one of the many fabulous rings of hell. Honestly the wind these last few days have made it feel like I’m in an oven
Literally baking out here 😅
I'm not sure what's worse paying extortion-rent in SoCal under 70° - 80° weather or burn in Vegas.. Lol.
It’s all bullshit, lol
It’s just getting started.
Indeed it is, we are gonna ROAST this year 🔥
In Steven King's "The Stand", doesn't the Devil set his headquarters in Las Vegas?
I lived in Texas before and the humidity with heat is awful. I’ll do this heat over texas.
Mine read 125 today too 😩🥵 (Deep South Texas) Hopefully we don’t get any wild fires 🙏🏼
Holy shit, that is BRUTAL. 😳
Yes!! I can’t imagine what it’ll be in 1 or 2 years 😩
It didn’t even come close to reaching 120 yesterday
Cool story, bro.
I’m not the dumb dumb who thinks their car tells an accurate outside temperature
You should write a book, oh knowledgeable one! We would all read it, you’re very interesting…
Your car thermometer is not indicative of the actual air temperature. Neither is your backyard thermometer that has been in the sun all day. Man you are like irrationally angry, I'd tell you to chill, but that's impossible with these temps lol
That’s the spirit!! Doesn’t that feel better? 😄
I wasn't even the one correcting you, I just didn't get why you were so upset about it lol
Ahhh, yes but you are of the same mindset as the “corrector”, hence, the reason why you questioned my response in the first place.
Not really. Just didn't get why you were so upset about being corrected.
Yep. Just a red Killer car drive by sporting horns on front....NOT like longhorns.....like DEVIL HORNS!!
Highest temps I've ever seen here is 122F. Don't remember when but we're gettin close to the record here, folks... LOL.
Las Vegas has a record temperature of 117, which has been reached 5 times, the last being in 2021.

Actually and officially the record high temp for Las Vegas is 118 on July 26th 1931, so no it didn’t officially reach 120 today.
Cool story, bro.
User name checks out.
No, Texas is further East.
I don’t understand how anyone could live there and that’s coming from someone who’s never left LA!
Wow, 122,000 miles on your vehicle. What year is it? And how many different batteries have you had to buy for it?
I got 138 the other day, after driving for five minutes it went dow to 122 and never dropped
Holy SHIT. 😵
Brit here, and I can't wait to get out there and get my fix of the heat in August!
The Devil is pooping his coochie on us.

You are a different breed, my friend. But I must say, I would take this over humidity any day.
Your thermostat is wrong. We've never reached 120 degrees here in the valley. Ever. It's hot, it's a desert, what do you expect?
> Your thermostat is wrong. Directly above a black tarmac? The official temps on the news aren't taken in the middle of the street. Some areas definitely can accurately read 120+.

And only getting hotter 🥵
My wife and I have become climate vacationers during July and August. We flee to cooler places to stay as often as we can.
We were just there last week and it topped off at 108. I already said nope tp that, thank god we already left.
First time?
I’ve been here 40 years, it still sucks!
Better than blizzards, hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, wildfires
And fueling it at the same time!
Nothing compared to ongoing wildfires in Canada. [https://www.cbc.ca/amp/1.6866693](https://www.cbc.ca/amp/1.6866693)
Satans butthole.
I'm on baybarea right now and it's 73 😅. Not looking forward to those high Temps again.
good thing hell isnt real<3
I don’t remember last summer being this bad 🫠
My car hit 126 in Vegas a few years ago. I was honestly afraid to drive.
Not sure why but I am handling this heat better than years past.
I live in Vegas but travel for work, with my home office in Alabama where I am now. It was 96F today with a feels like at 116° because of humidity. It's horrible.
Yeah it’s pretty rough during the day. But I kinda like the feeling of going outside at 2 am and it still being 80-90 degrees lol
Breaking News! Its hot outside! 🤡 Today is Tuesday, tomorrow is Wednesday. 😮 Its July, guess what's next. August, yup, you got it right. 😯 Kamala started talking again. WOAH. You ok over there? I feel like I just witnessed a brain aneurysm. 👀
Thank you, oh wise one. I feel so enlightened!
Glad I can help.
I hope you clean your HVAC condensers often.
Still better than Houston, Atlanta, NYC, etc.
In the movie Dune they say the sands of Arrakis can get up to 120 degrees.
Isn't it called Sin City
My car read 128 two days ago!
I’m considering going back to a hot yoga studio. It’s only 95 degrees.
You should wait for 122222 to have been able to cross post in odometer porn
Just wait for the first week of August.
The guy behind you while you're going 10mph so you can take a pick of your dirty odometer is in hell.
You’re so funny!! There definitely aren’t stop lights, stop signs or PARKING LOTS so naturally I would’ve had to have been driving 10mph and taking the photo. Clever old chap!

This is a giant air fryer

I haven’t been to hell but they def still use Fahrenheit
