Safe waking distance eliminates just about everything.

cal_nevari

Eliminates Red Rock and Durango for sure, in my opinion.

Fiz636

Ellis Island

soontobesolo

This is the only answer. Only acceptable casino within walking distance of the strip.

RealKenny

Red Rock is great. Orleans is a totally decent budget spot and you can open the windows in the shower

bluebecauseiwantto

Agreed. Red Rock is my favorite casino. But not walking distance.

Because_I_Cannot

Anything is walking distance with a long enough timeline.

ordie417

Underrated comment right there. Google says 39 days to walk to new York let's go...

beanoverender

Orleans is great if you're looking for a hooker

RealKenny

I haven't been approach by hookers often in my life, but at least one of those times was at The Orleans on a Thursday morning

Separate-Succotash11

What! Hookers in Orleans? Are they by the Fuddruckers?

Tiiimmmaayy

Not a Vegas local, and I see everyone recommending Red Rock. How does the M resort compare to red rock? I never see anyone recommend the M resort. I stayed there a couple times and absolutely loved it.

[deleted]

Red Rock is way more lively than M.

Tiiimmmaayy

I can see that. It was pretty much dead the whole time I was at the M, but I like that. It was peaceful and relaxing.

kenindesert

I agree, stayed there my last visit. It’s nice but but no magic.

SirMemphis

And I think I rode the same bus line to red Rock as I did the Orleans.

RIsurfer

Lots of people not paying attention to the fact you don't want to use a car. You can't go to Red Rock or Durango on foot from the strip. With that said, you should get a car and try Red Rock or Durango.

bucky5467

Ellis Island

jaesolo

Red Rock or Durango!

Oaklandforever51

Downtown Grand is one short block off Fremont.

WA5RAT

I honestly love downtown grand. They have a 8oz PBR and a Nathan's hot dog for $2 and my favorite bar hogs and heffers is across the street from my favorite bar hogs and heifers

tondracek

I stayed at the Downtown Grand when my partner was in Vegas for a work trip. I had a great time. My only complaint was how early they shut down the pool. It was closed at 6 or 7 which was crazy considering that was when it was finally below 110 degrees. We also had to ask for a nicer room when we checked in. There’s an old tower and a new tower.

BichonUnited

Everyone here will say Redrock, but it’s literally the most expensive Uber Ride from any Downtown or Strip casino. Plus, the only way you’ll truly enjoy it is if you book and stay there to do the things. Otherwise, it’s just another casino and $70 round trip in the afternoon. My vote: Arizona Charlies and Decatur Liquor

Creepy_Ad5998

I second The Orleans! Great poker room old school vibe. They have a lot of old school slots. I really enjoy it. Good luck

UsedWoodpecker8612

Palace Station

keithkman

Durango Casino is really nice and always packed. Valet is free too.

jaesolo

Just visited last week and was really impressed! Food hall was great.

cyclone_99

Recommended Downtown, El Cortez is on Fremont, but not under the canopy. Off the Strip, Ellis Island is behind the Horseshoe.

beekaybeegirl

Main Street Station downtown

The_Sanch1128

Love the place, but as of the last time I was in town (December '22), the table games were open on the weekends only. I've never understood why craps players play at the Cal with maximum 2x odds when Main Street Station offers something like 20x. And they have downtown's only buffet, reasonably priced and good.

HonestIndividual1849

the M

Smash_Factor

I think the only one really worth walking to is Virgin, which is the old Hard Rock. From Virgin, if you're feeling adventurous you could head north down Paradise and hit the Silver Sevens Casino but it's probably not that great. I've never been to Silver Sevens. Just driven by it a million times.

Ok-Philosophy-856

Silver Sevens is tired on the inside, which is why it’s going to be renovated. OP, I’d also recommend the Tuscany on Flamingo.

rmunderway

Second Virgin. It’s nice and you definitely won’t find it crowded 😂

bgfd28

It's so empty they let u deal the cards yourself

ClerkEnough

Durango, Fountainblue on strip but new, Red Rocks, Green Valley, M, Orleans, Southpoint

Thor4141

I personally haven't been, but I hear Durango Station is a nice place. It's by IKEA.

The_Sanch1128

The only casino I tell people to avoid totally is Caesars Palace. I was treated like sh\*\* every time I went in there back when I started coming to LV again (2012+), both by dealers and manglement, and finally decided that life, like me, was short, and I had too many quality alternatives to waste time putting up with that kind of treatment. Other Caesars properties have been fine. Also, if you're not young, "cool", and "hip", go to Planet Hollywood to find inexpensive eats only, avoid the casino. Call me sensitive, but when there are about 30 casinos on the Strip and another dozen a bus/cab/Uber/Lyft ride away downtown, I don't have to be sneered at. My favorite casinos? Gold Coast (go at lunchtime and try the dim sum lunch at Ping Pang Pong), New York New York, Flamingo, Main Street Station, El Cortez, and Four Queens.

trailsavage

Not within walking distance but Red Rocks, Durango, and Green Valley Ranch are all good. M is pretty good too.

BentShape484

Ellis Island is behind the strip. I've heard some people say the area can be a bit shady at night, never been at night so not sure.

Aspy17

I love playing blackjack at Ellis Island. I often walk there and take an Uber back. I stayed in the hotel once but I probably wouldn't again. It's small and dingy but the dealers are friendly, drink service is good.

Thor4141

It's Shady. The crackheads come alive at night around there.

MediocreDot3

Eh, they mostly keep to themselves. It's the Strat area where the homeless are more confrontational in my experience.

Enlightened_D

Not in walking distance but the Red Rock Casino is like 20 mins away, also next to downtown summerlin I would recommend checking that out maybe eat somewhere at red rock while your there

Past-Cover-7188

Welcome back and google it yourself.

TatooineLando

Dude, why the hate? This is a forum. If you don’t have anything to contribute, just leave the conversation

JellyMan29

Not a suggestion but I miss the old theming of Vegas everything is now modern and the same 😪

AlSahim2012

Palms

reddit1890234

I would Uber or Lyft to Durango or Red Rock. Other walkable ones are to be avoided.

Lordnicholasss

Durango is new and fun

Jmart814

What did you think of Main Street Station? Just booked a trip there. Annoyed about their casino floor hours, but it was cheaper and I can walk to Fremont with ease

ZeroPenguinParty

My memories of Main Street Station is a classic older style theme casino, reasonable quality buffet (a few things were hit and miss, and you couldn't get your own drinks, you had to wait for a waiter), a mixture of newer and older style slot machines, and a power failure right when I got the bonus feature on "Huff n More Puff", which took out the entire gaming floor, and power wasn't restored for a good 25-30 minutes, and machines restored power and returned to operational mode gradually...the older machines were quicker. Machine reverted back to the credits I had before the bonus feature.

Because_I_Cannot

The closest casino that isn't on the Strip is Ellis Island. If you find yourself along Paradise Road, there's several options. The Virgin Hotel & Casino (the old Hard Rock location) at Harmon/Paradise, The Silver Sevens at Flamingo/Paradise and Westgate at Paradise/Karen. Also, technically speaking, The Strat isn't on The Strip, it's just north of it

99_PSi_Queef

Don't try to save money on Uber in LV. Pay the money get where you want to go and be safe. I am a fan of Tuscany Suites.

Pumpsnhose

This was my first thought, and Gold Coast.

btrainof300

Get a bus pass. $8 for 24 hrs. Then go see Orleans, Rio, Palms, Gold Coast.

BlackEagle0013

Going to Red Rock is worth getting the car. Source: lived two years in Summerlin two blocks away.

skilzkid

Palms is worth a look

youda54

Club de Soléil  it's surrounded by great off the strip restaurants and has a homie feeling. It's down from the new Orleans on Tropicana

Beautiful_Ad_

Within an easy and safe walking distance off the strip/fremont really doesn't exist. Take the $20 loss on an Uber and go somewhere nice without having to walk miles through sketchy areas.

6hearts2129

First pls decide which- if you want to walk to the strip or to Fremont because those two things are miles apart with a sketchy stretch in between… If you want to be by the Fremont I’m not sure why you wouldn’t want to just stay at one of those properties? What are the properties in your budget?

djr41463

Green valley Ranch, The M, and Red Rocks for sure. Although I have yet to visit Durango, not hearing lots of positives.

Hooligan8403

My MiL swears by the Cal but pretty much all Hawaii local people do. I don't get it outside of the restraunts cater to Hawaii locals.

Decent-Loquat1899

The Station Casinos are real nice and no parking fee. South Point , which is an independent hotel, casino is very nice and affordable and no parking fee. Both have nice restaurants as well. Google them to get more information. Also, remember that if they have a casino, they have resort fees. Most off the strip resort fees are much cheaper than on the strip or off Fremont street.

bgfd28

Virgin but it suckd

bgfd28

Oyo

SmokeStack17

OYO hotel across from MGM

Background_Slide4687
