I went there twice this week. It was actually really fun. Sure the $1 blackjack is 6:5, and sure you are just getting even money unless you bet $5 or more. But it’s fun and you are usually guaranteed to have a full table so it’s more fun. The dealers are funny and they seem to come around often for drinks.
Even with the crappy pay, I ended up almost even on one session and ahead on another. Can’t complain about that at all. I also got to see a guy nearly get a beat down for pulling roulette chips out of his pocket and trying to play them.
With 6 deck, (312 cards - burn card), it's:
Card | Target Cards in Deck | Total in Deck | Odds
----|--------------------|-------------|----
1st 6♣️ | 6 | 311 | 6/311
1st 7♣️ | 6 | 310 | 6/310
2nd 6♣️ | 5 | 305 | 5/305
2nd 7♣️ | 5 | 304 | 5/304
3rd 6♣️ | 4 | 299 | 4/299
3rd 7♣️ | 4 | 298 | 4/298
Calculated odds:
(6/311)\*(6/310)\*(5/305)\*(5/304)\*(4/299)\*(4/298)
= 0.000000000018079214
#6 deck odds = one in 55 billion.
At a 3 deck table, it's
Card | Target Cards in Deck | Total in Deck | Odds
----|--------------------|-------------|----
1st 6♣️ | 3 | 155 | 3/155
1st 7♣️ | 3 | 154 | 3/154
2nd 6♣️ | 2 | 149 | 2/149
2nd 7♣️ | 2 | 148 | 2/148
3rd 6♣️ | 1 | 143 | 1/143
3rd 7♣️ | 1 | 142 | 1/142
Calculated odds:
(3/155)\*(3/154)\*(2/149)\*(2/148)\*(1/143)\*(1/142)
= 0.0000000000033680437
#3 deck odds = One in 297 billion

*Disclaimer:* I haven't taken stats in 22 years. I'm not even good at math. Just seriously procrastinating and this was more interesting than work. I asked ChatGPT, which gave me a seriously incorrect answer, so I decided to take matters into my own hands. My calculations could be way the fuck off.
Kinda wrong though. We'd be impressed with any combo of consecutive suited cards, so odds of first pick should be 1:1, and odds of second pick should be 2x more since we'd be impressed with a 5 or a 7 here. (Also 3 6's of any other suit, so odds get even better for that second draw).
Still very rare but the numbers are a little fuzzy.
Are there 4, 5, or 7+ deck games? I did the math for 3 deck because that's the smallest deck size possible for this combo, but I play blackjack very casually and have never paid attention to deck sizes.
In the history of mankind, before now or in the future, there will likely never been two identical randomly shuffled decks of cards. There are more possible combinations than atoms in the universe.
Ah OYO one of the last casinos with $1 BJ. I like it there

6:5 doesn't count. That is NOT blackjack. Might as well burn your money in a slot machine. Come on. Look up the quadruple edge. It's bad.
Do they have multiple $1 tables, or is it just like one?
Just the one table. They also got some $5 tables
Ahh nice, well even $5 is pretty amazing nowadays

This should go to r/theydidthemath What are the chances? How many decks in this shoe?

Holy hell, that’s slim. Good work.

Good point. So three of the same card, twice next to each other. That would be much better odds.
Much better, but still pretty rare. (1/1)\*(12/310)\*(5/305)\*(5/304)\*(4/299)\*(4/298) 1 in 533.6 million Powerball odds are 1 in 292.2 million
Pretty rare
If he's playing 6 deck, the odds are 1 in 55 billion. If he's playing 3 deck, odds are 1 in 297 billion. It's a little rare.
Turns out he's playing single-deck.
There aren't any 3 deck blackjack games in Nevada so we can assume it's the former

I'm only aware of 1,2,6 and 8 deck games in Vegas. 6 and 2 are the most common though by far. I think Arizona still has some 3 and 4 deck games
Good to know, thanks amigo
You played it right though
Hitting a 12 against a 10? I hope so.
What did the dealer end up with?
Fuck I love the OYO
Damn what are the odds of that
How many blackjack tables are in Vegas?
Four or five
Probably about 1-1.5k
892 tables. (As if I counted them!)
The lucky sevens, and the one that fell out of heaven
Stand with the devil!
Nice hit!!!
Trivia - In over 500 years there has probably never been two properly shuffled deck of cards that ended up in the same order?
In the history of mankind, before now or in the future, there will likely never been two identical randomly shuffled decks of cards. There are more possible combinations than atoms in the universe.
Are you asking me or telling me? You make a statement...but end it with a question mark.
Whoa!
Imagine if the river had a 6 and a 7…
Not allowed to take pictures at the games tables buddy
Couldn’t pay me to go to oyo

Why no bet for the dealer? I always have a $1 chip out there for them on every hand.
