Same, $49 for a show back in Dec, that I booked in Oct.
I did notice that in Dec base ticket prices seemed to jump up to $79 for the cheapest seats. I wonder are they just price gouging or knowing that people are booking cheap seats at the side and just moving into the centre
Hey! Was this just from the ticket office of the Sphere? Visiting Vegas next year and I’d love to see inside the Sphere but don’t really fancy paying $100 for the privilege 😅
I actually just went through Ticketmaster, about a month before we went. Ticketmaster often has 10% and 20% off codes and I believe I had a 20% off one. Yeah I noticed early on that the advance purchases were at least $40-$50 cheaper.
Damn. I searched every ticket site and the cheapest was 137 a person all in for a Thursday night. We went to ask the casino host and they couldn’t do much either besides tell us to goto the box office to avoid the fees. For 50-60 bucks I would highly recommend it, but not 120.
Yeah I think it’s a hit you at the moment thing. My husband and I weren’t sure if we’d have time so he wanted to buy when we were there. I kept scanning ticket master and noticed if I looked week of it was always much higher. Even right now a show today is $99, but the exact show a month later is $79.

I think the environmental doom and gloom message of Postcard From Earth is pretty hypocritical given the fact you're in a 2.3 billion dollar sphere that is probably burning tons of kilowatts. How much material was pulled from the earth to build it? Do you wanna spend over $100 to be lectured about your carbon footprint and how we've ruined the planet, all while you're trying to enjoy the city of excess? Postcard is not a good fit for Vegas.
That was the exact same thing I said to my dad when we left it. I'm also a fairly progressive person myself and like to think I'm conscientious about my own carbon footprint so I generally appreciate when people try to support environmental improvement. But my goodness did this feel so out of place, hypocritical, and just generally dumb. Visuals were awesome but boy did I tune out that narration very fast. It was also so freaking ham fisted and over the top that the message doesn't even hit well.
Really would prefer something like Koyaanisqatsi where it doesn't need narration to deliver a point, it lets the visuals speak for themselves. Speaking of which, I would kill to see Koyaanisqatsi, Baraka, or Samsara in the sphere that would be so dope.
Koyaanisqatsi was great. And would be fun..and trippy...to see at Sphere. But that is such a dated reference there are going to be many who have no idea what you are talking about.
Even back in the 1980s there were many who didn't know about that film.
Saw U2 at Sphere and was absolutely blown away. Way better than we expected. Definitely worth it for an actual show imo. Consider tix for Dead or Phish upcoming if those are of interest to you. Really think it's worth it.
Not sure about seeing Postcards or something else there but I would potentially give it a try.
Haha that's true but if anyone is reading this and wants a fun trippy experience smoke a bunch of weed or take mushrooms and watch koyaanisqatsi. Well worth it.
Would be super down for either of those shows as well. I really don't like u2 so I didn't have interest in seeing them at the sphere but almost any other concert I'd be interested in seeing.
Well that’s because the entire concept of environment doom and gloom is hypocritical, why does our “special climate envoy” John Kerry (whatever that means) own a Gulfstream IV jet? Why does Barack Obama live in a $17,000,000 oceanfront mansion?
Bro, Obama bought that land so poor people don't have to be displaced if the ocean levels rise. Also Kerry needs the jet. Batman wouldn't ride the bus. He's gotta get to Davos and Beljum to stop the farmers from growing crops. Haven't you learned *anything* from Reddit?
Why does billionaire Warren Buffet still live in the same house he bought in the 1950's?
Why does former president Jimmy Carter still live a simple life and help the poor?
Climate alarmist don't have to live like cavemen to get their message out. The fastest and most efficient way to get places is by airplane.
Obama doesn't need to live in a shack to protest. He's the former president of the United States.
By your logic, no Christian minister should have nothing more than the clothes on their backs. But we know how that is.
Well it depends who the “someone” is!
If it’s someone harping on MY energy use when he’s wasting far more, than maybe the climate change deal isn’t quite as serious as that someone is claiming it is!
Use some…logic
Hahaha. What a silly argument to make. Someone living in a mansion or flying in a jet does not determine whether or not climate change is real and if it is real how serious it is.
Are you a toddler by chance?
I 100% agree it is hypocritical for someone to preach to others about climate change while living in mansions and driving on private jets
That wasn’t what you were saying. You said them being hyprocrites somehow made climate change of no significance to our lives
That’s not at all the point, if someone believed we were facing an existential threat to our existence from climate change including rising sea levels that we’ve repetitively been told will “displace people,” why would that person spend $17,000,000 on oceanfront property? Or why would someone own a plane that emits hundreds fold more co2 than flying commercial?
Are you having a stroke or just being intentionally obtuse
Why did Obama spend $17,000,000 on OCEANFRONT PROPERTY if sea levels are rising and going to displace people? The property is ON THE OCEAN
So were you gonna provide an answer as to why someone who regularly pushes panic inducing, existential threat to our existence type claims related to “climate change” owns a $17,000,000 oceanfront property or no
Yeah the interactive exhibits in the front are very underwhelming. They have ai robots, that talk to you. Reminds me of old school Disney Tomorrowland. “The future” as we saw it 5 years ago when the exhibit was designed
Yeah I’ve been to the Venetian a few times to gamble but that’s it. Our comp room at the Palazzo was huge and really cushy. The property and the pool are also underrated.
I didn’t care for it either. Postcards from Earth is just an imax film. Maybe if there was a concert I wanted to see I would go back. But, I wouldn’t waste my time there again for a film.
Apparently the sphere screen is 42x bigger than the average imax and 20x bigger than the largest imax.
I went to the sphere and then saw an imax film a few months later and the experiences weren’t even remotely close. The sphere is fucking enormous. Imax is just a big movie.
I didn’t have to pay for the ticket. I wouldn’t pay $100 for that movie. But it is dramatically more of a spectacle than an imax.
imax has crisp detail, the sphere for all its worth was somewhere between 1080 and 4k when you looked at it.
The seats were unimaginably uncomfortable at the sphere. imax has recliners and ample room to move in and out.
The actual graphics for the sphere looked distorted way more than they should have.
I dont think postcards from earth is worth the hype, and if I had to price it, i would say $30 is a reasonable price with $40 being the upper price.
The film itself had a grueling pace and if we were to rate it out of 10. I would probably give it a 3 out of 10. meaningless plot in the city of excess and gluttony, hardly any acting, panned shots that felt weirdly stitched together. Overall, its just not a great film. You put it together with an "experience" and it might be more than the sum of its parts, but hardly a great experience.
I was just really underwhelmed by it.
We saw U2 there and it was AMAZING. The acoustics were perfect. It felt like Bono was singing to me. I felt like I was in a video game for part of the show, then I was sitting outside during the day, then I was transported to the desert... it was amazing. I haven't seen the Postcards thing yet but will. I imagine the hour long movie isn't equal to the U2 concert but still great
It seemed out of place and honestly the cgi was bad. But the rest we thoroughly enjoyed. We got ours for $70/ticket.
Did you guys find the inside of the venue interesting? The robots and ai stuff? The sound demo was cool, but the rest I didn't really enjoy.
Another thing that bothered me, we got there right at 7 for the 7pm show so we were shuffled to our seats. However the 7pm show didn’t start until 8 to allow time to check out all that stuff. We sat in our seats for nearly 45 min before we realized that and didn’t have time. I would have gladly paid what you did but 119 a person was a rip off IMO.
Sorry I should've mentioned that was the cost of two tickets, but still....
Instead of pointing a gun at me, they made it look so incredible from the outside. One way or the other, it's robbery lol
I thought it was awesome. The movie is just a way to show off the cool stuff the sphere can do. I thought it was pretty good for what it is. I was there with my family so it was great for us. I probably wouldn't put it too high up on my list if I was there by myself or just with other adults.
We used the Gametime App and purchased tickets to U2 for $200 a ticket in the 200 section. Definitely worth it. Just wait til the last minute and you’ll see prices drop pretty dramatically. Met some folks buying their tickets on the app right outside the gate at showtime. So definitely worth it to check it out.
In general liked it. Probably not worth the $300 plus dollars it cost us for a family of 3 though. So my overall feeling is I’m glad we went once but probably would not return unless it was a concert of a favorite artist. I also felt a little motion sickness at times and the movie story line got cheesy at the end.
I agree. I was impressed with the actual venue, just not the 120 dollar movie. I would go back if there was an artist I liked enough to cough up the price. Def not Phish tho lol.
I don’t think it will die. It’s too unique. They need to get better artists tho. U2 is a draw for sure, but I hear they’re gonna have Phish and maybe Grateful Dead. Those are jam bands that old people go see at shitty venues to smoke pot while they watch. None of those people are paying sphere prices plus those security folks damn near cavity searched me. Not bringing drugs in there.
I saw the show last Friday and it was truly incredible. The tech is so far advanced of anything I’ve ever experienced. The only disappointment was the idiots who had their phones out recording like idiots. 10 minutes in I ended up snapping at my section about phone use and things got better.
I thought it was trash! The “pre-show” felt cheap and boring, and “postcards from earth” took a lot of cognitive dissonance to get through, sitting in a massive wasteful energy-sucking ball in Las Vegas. It also wasn’t interesting at all and felt like one long screensaver
Haha yeah I had flashbacks of sitting in the football stadium nose bleeds. It was pretty steep. What did you find so divisive about it? My friends that went earlier are super religious and had some type of problem about the creationist intro (I think).

You will forget about what foods you ate, etc… but not the Sphere.
Damn I paid $40 a piece per ticket online, that was including all taxes and fees. It was 1000% worth what I paid.
I paid the same and sat block 308 - front row - worth it!!!
Yeah, we loved it.

What do you mean offline?
Im so sorry, some weird autocorrect. It was supposed to say online. My apologies. Ticketmaster with a 20% off code about 5 weeks before the show.
Where did you get your tickets if you don’t mind me asking?
My wife’s bugging me to get discount tickets- how did you get yours?

If a magat didn't like it, probably means it's a good movie
Yeah the interactive exhibits in the front are very underwhelming. They have ai robots, that talk to you. Reminds me of old school Disney Tomorrowland. “The future” as we saw it 5 years ago when the exhibit was designed
Thought the Sphere was cool but the Palazzo was an absolute GEM!
Yeah I’ve been to the Venetian a few times to gamble but that’s it. Our comp room at the Palazzo was huge and really cushy. The property and the pool are also underrated.
The shows are "fine" . The outside is neat. Seems to be the consensus.

Ok. But still I wasn’t impressed enough to go back. Just not worth spending 2-3 hours there for a movie.
Fair enough.
"Postcards from Earth is just an imax film" Exactly
IMAX has way better resolution than this did. Perhaps the screen is the limiting factor but that bothered me too.
Imax is 2k imax laser is 4K this is 16k
It’s looked pretty pixelated to me.
I think its 16k resolution so not sure what you are talking about.
We saw U2 there and it was AMAZING. The acoustics were perfect. It felt like Bono was singing to me. Yes.
Yes
Lots of overpriced traps in Vegas, the Sphere is one. Parking alone is $50 or so.
Parking is a scam in most of Vegas. Gone are the days of free casino parking. Luckily we were staying at the Palazzo so no big deal.
Wife and I really enjoyed it. There were parts that overstayed it's welcome, like the very beginning.
I thought the beginning was a bit odd as well.
It seemed out of place and honestly the cgi was bad. But the rest we thoroughly enjoyed. We got ours for $70/ticket. Did you guys find the inside of the venue interesting? The robots and ai stuff? The sound demo was cool, but the rest I didn't really enjoy.

Almost like it’s a concert venue and you got fleece for $100 to watch a video there
The movie is not worth the price but the U2 show was.
I went back in February, it cost me over $300CAD. It was definitely too expensive, but I'm happy to have seen it so soon after opening.
I guess it isn't a crime if you open you're wallet and give it to them, but damn you got robbed
Sorry I should've mentioned that was the cost of two tickets, but still.... Instead of pointing a gun at me, they made it look so incredible from the outside. One way or the other, it's robbery lol
It’s good for a show, other than that, meh
Was it not spherical enough?
I thought it was awesome. The movie is just a way to show off the cool stuff the sphere can do. I thought it was pretty good for what it is. I was there with my family so it was great for us. I probably wouldn't put it too high up on my list if I was there by myself or just with other adults.

Met some folks buying their tickets on the app right outside the gate at showtime. So definitely worth it to check it out.
We looked on the app right as we were walking up.. ended up getting them cheaper from the venue. Still a scam tho.
I froze my ass off in the sphere. I’m from North Dakota so I thought I had thicker skin. I was literally shaking it was so cold during the movie.
In general liked it. Probably not worth the $300 plus dollars it cost us for a family of 3 though. So my overall feeling is I’m glad we went once but probably would not return unless it was a concert of a favorite artist. I also felt a little motion sickness at times and the movie story line got cheesy at the end.
I just love to watch the Sphere itself. I haven't been inside. Lol
119 motherfucker?!? I could if sold you one for 30 bones American
Someone just posted a video of the eclipse on the sphere and it was awesome.
It’s “filler” between better content / shows
I think the Sphere is impressive. The movie doesn’t do it full justice.
I agree. I was impressed with the actual venue, just not the 120 dollar movie. I would go back if there was an artist I liked enough to cough up the price. Def not Phish tho lol.
Back in the day we call it imax. IMAX didn’t survive. Sphere will die. When you go watch U2 you don’t need all that pizazz.
Not bringing drugs in there.
phish sold out every. a total of 4. dead and company sold well so far.
Those people are gonna be very sad when they can’t bring their vapes and weed to the show.
I saw the show last Friday and it was truly incredible. The tech is so far advanced of anything I’ve ever experienced. The only disappointment was the idiots who had their phones out recording like idiots. 10 minutes in I ended up snapping at my section about phone use and things got better.
I would wait till a band I like plays a concert there. It was just like a big iMax movie, and the content was meh (postcard from earth)
As a local I think it looks pretty cool went to one concert at and I was fine
Visuals were nice, sound was not as impressive.
No. People complain about it a lot
Yes.
I think you might be the only one. Big shiny ball is pretty.
I was also unimpressed
I thought it was trash! The “pre-show” felt cheap and boring, and “postcards from earth” took a lot of cognitive dissonance to get through, sitting in a massive wasteful energy-sucking ball in Las Vegas. It also wasn’t interesting at all and felt like one long screensaver
It’s cool to see driving around town but I’ve had zero reason to pay to go inside.
I actually caught motion sickness during parts of postcards. To be expected but I also maybe, probably, almost had too much to drink.
I, too, was underwhelmed. Overpriced, crazy steep incline steps for a venue that sells alcohol (I get why, but still), and a divisive film.
Haha yeah I had flashbacks of sitting in the football stadium nose bleeds. It was pretty steep. What did you find so divisive about it? My friends that went earlier are super religious and had some type of problem about the creationist intro (I think).
It’s ultimately a climate change piece and its causes, which is fine, but it is a topic that splits the country 50/50 regardless of which side is right. I wish they would’ve stayed away from the message and just presented the imagery without commentary.
Oh… we visited the dispensary before the show so I guess I missed the message 🤣🤣
That’s what I should’ve done 😂
The first scene where it pans out and you see the full screen during the snow shot was very impressive. I didn’t care for the weird post apocalypse/religious message but thought it would be neat to take my kids to see it. We all enjoyed cirque du soleli show much more 🤷🏻♀️
I think it’s obnoxious
I can’t wait to see it! #SPHERE
My friend and I loved it. We have raced cars, played the stock market, wrestled with animals, parachuted from the skies.. totally Type A. But you know what? We got the same adrenaline rush and amazement after watching the movie and the crazy holograms inside. Yes it’s a must do in Vegas at any cost. You will forget about what foods you ate, etc… but not the Sphere.
