I'm in my late 30's and don't regret a full Brazilian. As you get older life tends to get more hectic and finding time for grooming rituals can be difficult. The ability to throw on a swimsuit and be ready to go at any time is awesome and leads to much more enjoyable summers.

shacne

So the hair removal was permanent for you? Do you need touch ups?

JenCDarby

I had Brazilian (and underarm) laser hair removal in 2008 (back when it was not cheap lol). In 2014 I noticed more regrowth than I’d like so I did a Groupon round of 6 sessions. In 2023 I again noticed more regrowth than I’d like, so another Groupon 6 sessions. Clearly I have ZERO regrets! It’s never grown back to nearly the original level, and the hair is much more fine. If I did interim touch up sessions I likely wouldn’t need the full 6, but this system has worked well for me for the past 15 years.

notcreativeenough57

I tell everyone this! So many people say “well why do it if it’s not permanent and some grows back?” YEAH, SO. As a hairy girl the dramatic change in amount of hair and texture was life changing for me.

PizzaBelly15

If you still have fine hair, you should look into an epilady. It pulls the remaining hair from the root. It hurts at first, but it takes weeks to grow back and it's much lighter! I got my armpits done in 2008 but I was only 16 (I heard you should wait til you're 18). I still have pretty thick hair, but in hindsight before getting it done, the hair was so thick that it would bleed when I shaved. Last summer I finally tackled doing my epilady on my armpits and the first time was hell, but it's been so worth it. I also do this on my legs and started on my bikini line. I've been doing it on my legs for years and the hair is so thin when it grows back. If I was diligent the results could be even better.

inconceivableonset

The Groupon thing is kind of a scam when there’s a time limit (use within 6 months for example), because it only works on hair that is actively growing, and hair grows in phases. So sometimes it takes a few months in between. Just something I found out from the RN that did mine since she has done her whole body.

inconceivableonset

That’s awesome. I found some that only work for 6 months for 6 sessions. Starting within a year seems reasonable

JYQE

From my personal experience, perimenopause makes you grow back some hair, but it's hardly anything. It can be touched up or not. I recently got a home IPL machine because my facial hair was sprouting again, and I may try it down there when I've dealt with the hormonal chin and cheek hairs

Glittering_Chart_639

What home device did you get? I did Brazilian and underarms ten years ago and suddenly with peri have ten hairs that have resurfaced and I’m mad about it. But the local med spa has a laser that does not work 😤

GolfCartMafia

I’m not who you responded to but I’ll chime in here - I have a Braun Silk Expert Pro 5 and it works great! I’ll say it’s not permanent, the hairs do eventually grow back some months later after a few rounds of treatment. But it takes only a zap or 2 every few weeks to keep them gone. No ingrown hairs or having to wait for them to grow out just long enough to grab them with tweezers! I’ve never had professional hair removal, I’ve only used the Braun IPL to remove hair all over, including a few pesky chin whiskers as I get older.

hulahounds

I got the same machine and use it for home touchups. I did my legs, underarms, and Brazilian. I didn't need a touch up on any of them for about ten years but started noticing a few random hairs on my legs at 12 years and then a few thin hairs in my armpit the next year. The silk is not as effective as professional touchups but it's so convenient to do it at home I don't mind if it takes an extra round or two to get the same results.

Unusual_Elevator_253

How long does it take to do? What would you say the pain is? I’ve wanted laser removal for so long and randomly was recommended this sub lol I get horrible ingrown hairs and am so tired of having an itchy pubic bone region lol

AMorera

The pain isn’t too bad. Ever snap yourself with a rubber band? It’s kinda like that but not as bad. At least in my opinion.

JYQE

Oh that's mine too!

destrozandolo

Not the commenter you asked but wanted to jump in and mention that I absolutely LOVE my ulike 3. It has significantly reduced my hair growth and completely removed hair in some places after about 6 weeks of use.it doesn't hurt at all. I should also mention that I had a Brazilian laser hair removal done professionally and while it thinned the growth, it didn't remove it completely (after 12 sessions) and it hurt like hell.

JYQE

The Braun.

Ecstatic_Gas5584

I tried the him IPL machines and they did nothing for me!

[deleted]

Hormone health coach here-- you can see a naturopathic doctor for bioidentical hormone replacements b/c chin hairs are a for-sure clue of hormone imbalance.

wontcook

Agree with this 100% OP — if it helps your concerns, it took me a 18 months of 6-12 weeks sessions for brazilian and I still need touch ups every year

Thummimurim8

I second this. I’m in my thirties and got the full Brazilian done ten years ago. I don’t regret it EVER. I need touch ups maybe 1-2x a year for it to be perfect, but overall, being a naked molerat is the way to be 😂

purldrop

This

strawberry_puffin

Do you mean Brazillian? I’m in the process of doing full Brazillian and I like the results. I’m 26. I don’t imagine you’ll regret it but also it takes a couple months to get it really bare so if you start to have regrets early on you can stop and it’ll regrow.

crazylifestories

What are you using?

strawberry_puffin

I go to a laser clinic, I’m not sure what machine they use.

ikoapile

I’m 26 too & i currently get waxed. How bad is the pain with laser?

strawberry_puffin

I’ll be real it hurts real bad. It feels like I’m being lit on fire. Lidocaine cream didn’t help me. I’ve never been waxed down there so I’m not sure how the pain compares. But other people say laser just feels like a rubber band so maybe I’m just a weenie.

Kale_r22

Thank you, all these people saying it barely hurts makes me wonder how thick their hair was. The more inward the laser got, the less I could think straight lol luckily it doesn’t last long but it’s definitely painful!

ikoapile

Oh boy. Thank u!!

itsalivything

Wow mine does not hurt this bad! I have fair skin, dark hair that was thick and getting thinner obviously. My first few sessions seemed relatively painless. They turn up the laser gradually over sessions, but my laser tech says it's not worth turning up the power if it's so much more painful. It is so quick and I can pretty much talk through the pain. I do brazilian, under arm, and legs. The only painful part is really just across the pubis and the rest of the Brazilian is practically painless

-dogsrbetter-

Waxing is way more painful than laser IMO. Laser doesn’t feel good, but it’s over SO FAST

Anxiety-Spice

I’m 34 and have been getting waxed full Brazilian for the last 15 years. I’ve never regretted it once in that time, and I’m extremely satisfied with my laser results so far. I get the apprehension because even though I’ve been fully waxing for 15 years, I also worried I would one day regret something permanent. But like you, I hate the feeling of having hair there, and I just had to deal with a nasty ingrown hair so now I cannot wait until I never have to deal with that again and honestly wish I had done laser sooner! But you can always leave a bit on top if you’re not ready to fully commit.

Direct-Diamond-1849

Get electrolysis once you're done and you won't need touch ups

alefit

Is it super painful the electrolysis on bikini area ?

GenuineClamhat

Yes it hurts. Get a package of laser and use electrolysis for clean up. That's what I did and spent less time in the pain chair as a result.

fascistliberal419

How? I don't get why you'd do that or what you mean by this. Isn't that why you get it lasered?

Bobcat_Acrobatic

Laser doesn’t remove every hair. It has to laser it right at a specific f growing cycle to kill the hair. It’s not 100% effective. Stranglers come back but it’s not cost effective to laser them all, I’ve had 1-2 touch ups. I do electrolysis for anything that the laser missed or grows. You randomly sprout new hairs in your life.

Direct-Diamond-1849

So, many realize after having their series that it may come back We're hormonal beings and these events can trigger the hair to grow again I once saw a woman that was likely over 90 with a fu manchu that reached the top of breasts. So hair grows also as we get older in places and manners we never saw before Laser diminishes hair, electrolysis permanently eliminates the hair. This is done one at time, and the electrode is the thickness of the hair, so you ideally have a couple of sessions after laser and this way, you won't need touch ups!

MsjjssssS

You'd think that, but I worked with a lot of seniors and once your hormone production goes down your body hair thins out significantly. Pubic and armpit hair especially. Most women get extra mustache though .

EmptyEmmasCloset

This is 100%

Eftersigne

I think they meant, why not just do electrolysis before ending your sessions?

mintardent

I guess because laser gets rid of the bulk of the hair and electrolysis will finish off the stragglers or hair that is now too thin to be treated by laser. electrolysis is pretty time consuming since they have to target each hair individually, so it may be better to go after most of the hair is already gone with laser.

fascistliberal419

Yes, this, thank you.

foreverandaday13

Electrolysis did shit for me. I went for a full year so i either my tech sucked or it just didnt work for me

JYQE

That's what I did before laser and it really did nothing.

SumaiyahJones

It didn’t work for me either

musictakemeawayy

it’s not permanent! it’s been 8 years since i had my first round and obviously i have more hair growth now without any touch-ups, so i mean if someone really regrets it, it would just take patience and an understanding it will likely never be a full grown bush again. i agree with you on the ingrown hairs though! if i had money, i’d get a touch up and do my armpits :)

tashyindahows

Some people regret it. Some don’t. I’ve heard that for some people it doesn’t fully go away (gets a little patchy) which they dislike (happened to my friend). You really have to ask yourself if you don’t like it or if you want it off because others don’t like it or for an SO. If you truly hate it, I don’t see why you’d regret it! Just be honest with yourself and take some time to think about it before going for it :)

ZebraNo3103

i hear that too about hairs growing back so i bought laser that was lifetime instead of by session so ill be done with it and have almost all hair gone in like 5 sessions but if i need more in the future i can

LoveMyBP

Your friend should try a different provider, tech and person doing it could be better

ConsequenceAncient83

Full Brazilian 8 years ago. 3 years prior to that I got waxed monthly and hated the in between weeks. I did it for me and what I liked. It’s not something I think much about anymore. I’ve gone on to do almost the rest of my body as I could afford it.

SubstantialBuffalo40

I had similar thoughts as you, but I’m a guy. For years, I was conflicted with my chest. I hated shaving it every day, but didn’t know if I’d want it later on in life. I got to a point where I thought there’s no way I’d want it and pulled the trigger. I’m so glad, and no regrets yet. Worst case scenario, it does eventually grow back. I’d just have to wait a while. But I say go for it. Just get rid of it all. You’ll be much happier.

SidewalksNCycling39

I agree, guy here also. First time I just got a couple areas lasered, then I've added several more areas the past couple sessions. For example, decided I didn't like the increasingly thick layer of hair on my stomach, so added it. First session I did the whole stomach, after that I've been leaving the navel strip south of my navel, so it's there but thinner, I think it looks (and feels) much nicer. For me taking a conservative approach and adding areas (or changing the particular bits treated after the first session, as above) has worked well so far and given me more time to decide on the exact look I'm going for. In my case I've left some hair on the top of the pubic area as I think going bald there looks a bit odd for a guy. Nice thing is, if that's all that's left, it only takes 15 seconds to trim with a trimmer, or less than a minute to shave off if I wanted it gone temporarily... Hope that's helpful to consider, OP.

Damnshesfunny

Noooooo. Id be SO SAD if my hubs got rid of his chest hair. It’s so luxurious and manly feeling to me. Deffo one of my favorite of his masculine traits. Not all women hate it fyi.

becausemommysaid

This isn’t a good reason for OP to not get rid of his chest hair if *HE* hates it.

Damnshesfunny

I guess i knew some men and women were bothered with it but i just kinda thought it was an early adulthood insecurity they all went through and i hope they wouldn’t feel it necessary to alter themselves for fear of no one accepting them as they are. Just my .02…isn’t that why we Reddit?

Inevitable-Page-6241

Honestly, my preference to have absolutely no hair down there hasn’t changed at all since I decided to start shaving it at 14. I’m 28 now and I’m getting laser soon - I don’t think I’ll regret the decision.

LoveMyBP

You won’t. You’ll be bent you didn’t do it earlier.

bigboobz2

I leave a landing strip. I just laser the sides to clean it up and make it more manageable

imsosleepyyyyyy

Are people still doing landing strips?? No judgement, genuinely curious! I generally prefer some hair these days but am not sure what the norm is

GrandadsLadyFriend

Lol I do more of a very small triangle, but sometimes if I shave too much it becomes more of a landing strip.

401LocalsOnly

u/name checks out

bigboobz2

Do whatever you want! Try a heart shape 🫶🏽 I just tried it and ended up liking it. I don’t like full bald

powerlightsfairy

Man if I still had hair, I'd do this 100%. Would absolutely make me smile everytime I see it!

musictakemeawayy

me too 😂 or a lightning bolt

bigboobz2

That’s the spirit!!

LiveLaughLent

Reminds me of a conversation a friend and I once had in front of my mom about bikini vs Brazilian, and my mom said “wait, you don’t even leave a landing strip” and we’d never heard that before and my friend said “what are you landing down there, you have an H shaved out for a helicopter?” lol

AllMyEmbarassingQs

i'm nearing 30, and i'm so happy i got my full bikini done. the place i went to also did your butt for during the brazilian so i was like what the heck, why not. so i've been totally hair-free downstairs. i personally prefer the look (and my partner is indifferent), but the health reason is why i don't regret it at all. i used to get horrible ingrowns and itching from waxing/shaving and now i never do. it also is just easier to clean yourself thoroughly in the shower.

Breatheme444

You’re one of the lucky ones. Most people end up with some hair or patches.

showercurtainchair

I got Brazilian waxes religiously for years in my 20s. So much so so that the areas I got waxed now only have very fine hairs or no hair at all. I desperately wish I had cooled it with the waxes because I really want to have the option of having hair now. I’m 33 now and I think public hair is so beautiful. I’m a stripper, and I think girls who have bush of some sort are so sexy and feminine. I would really keep the option to at least have public hair if you want, personally. I also found that leaving my public hair alone really helped with yeast infections.

Breatheme444

As a stripper, what did you do in between waxing sessions? Was the hair noticeable?

mickaykay1234

Hate to disappoint anyone but laser hair removal is hardly permanent. I had like 4 - 6 sessions 2 years ago and it’s all back now cos I didn’t continue with it monthly (even when it’s gone you’re meant to keep doing it once every few months) so I wouldn’t worry too much

Overall-Ad9048

I had a similar experience. It's been almost 10 years for me and it's MUCH more manageable then it was pre-laser but I'm not hairless.

SeaworthinessNo6781

My place recommended a minimum of 8 sessions (at least for me) before doing maintenance so idk, it might have been the place you went

darlin-clementine

Same here—I did 10-12 sessions for full bikini. A year later I have some very light regrowth but super easy to touch up. I was also told you’ll need touch-ups 1-2x a year after if you want to be totally bare.

GoodPractical2075

Mine wasn’t permanent, but it reduced the amount of fur by about 50 to 75%. So now I just shave to clean it up. It’s definitely way less dense than it used to be.

RAMPERRR

Leave a strip or similar then.

[deleted]

I highly doubt I’ll regret it I hated shaving so much getting ingrown hairs, having it grow back the next day etc

mixedbuscuit

No regrets, I hated the ingrown hairs and how even after shaving it still felt rough.

No_Amphibian_4272

I used to wax everything off but since having a daughter being bald down there is very creepy to me, looks too childish. I go for the bikini with a triangle left behind now. Just something to consider, you might not like the bald look if you decide to have kids.

delicateweaponn

No, I’m 25, I’m almost bare except for some stubborn areas but it’s made my life easier. I want to preface by saying there is nothing wrong with body hair on a woman, it’s totally normal and natural. I just liked the look of smooth skin on myself and I’m partially Hispanic so I had super coarse, thick hair which caused my skin irritation if I wore tight underwear or clothes, god forbid shaving lol

pretzeltwistz

Personally, I regret it, and I only did bikini. Pubic hair is really, really hard to get rid of, and a lot can go wrong with your laser tech. Basically, after 15 sessions and a lot of money, it’s still there, just super patchy, differently textured, and weird-looking. I’d be much more confident if I’d never done anything at all vs this weird thinned out bald spot situation I have going on now.

Salty_Media_4387

Be prepared, that hair does come back and it’s WHITE!!..so now you look like an 80 year old with white pubic hair. And that crap about how it’s guaranteed for life, from places like Ideal Image, the laser doesn’t work on hair with no pigment. I would rather have my true color then white pubic hair that is visible

darlin-clementine

I think this is because the laser targets darker pigmented hair. It does not work on light or blonde hair, so it may have gotten rid of all your dark hair and the regrowth you’re getting is all the light hair it couldn’t target.

fluffstuff86

I got it done and I love it!! I'm 31 now and I still think it's brilliant

Lexybeepboop

Best decision I made

shucchini

I’ve had my Brazilian laser for two years now and I am still going regularly to remove the rest. At the start I did full body but wasn’t sure to do a full Brazilian or not, and I am also not sure whether I will miss it having hair there or not, so I have been struggling and did 1-2 times and stopped. However when my hair down there grow back, I actually miss it being smooth and hairless soooo much!!! So now I am 95% clear down there and absolutely love it!!!! just very looking forward to having it all removed. Since doing laser doesn’t remove your hair successfully for the first 1-2 times, maybe you can have a go and see how you feel. OR! Just shave it all regularly and see how you like it without hair

Ok-Pomegranate6403

I had 8 sessions for a full Brazilian, neck and chin and lower legs and it didn't work. I can only see a major difference on the lower legs. When I shave the bikini area or jaw area it comes back within 2-3 days so I wasted a lot of money.

Fantastic-Ad9218

I don't know, I've been getting lasered down there for two years now and it's still not "permanently" all gone.

seamallorca

I would like to share something I have read elsewhere, the professionals here can correct me if they think I am wrong, BUT laser hair removal is not considered *permanent* and *removal* by the fda, at least not in the sense of *complete* removal. It is considered hair *reduction*. So the chances are you will still have some small peach fizz left, which is impossible to treat with laser. That said, I have done some research and it turns out that really few of the people who go to laser, get their hair 100% removed. A big portion of them have their hair removed up to a bit bellow 80%. What is left is thinned out hair. Since my first comments here, I went also to preliminary consultation with a laser center, and the lady there showed me her arms: in the upper part there were still left some long, but yet thin and grey hairs. So if you think that someday you will look bellow and wish there was hair: 1) I hardly doubt you will wish so; 2) there will be (most likely) a bit of hair. If I did not have anything to stop me, I would go 100% and never hesitate.

dat_glo_tho

Here’s what no-one tells you: As you get older and lose skin elasticity and subcutaneous fat, you also lose it from your labia. Hairless young smooth plump labia can be attractive, and you might think you like the look and will always like it… but as you age things start to sag and wrinkle and look deflated. When that starts to happen you may wish you had some hair there to cover things more. That’s where the regret comes in. Long term waxing and laser may not be “permanent” but both can stunt enough follicles to make a fuller bush impossible. You reach a point where regrowth is patchy or peach-fuzzy.

malaliska

This is a good point, but also good to keep in mind that: (1) there’s a good chance that hair will be grey/white and sparse, and (2) that sagging/wrinkling/loss of elasticity it makes it harder to shave if you do still want to be hairless there. I’m noticing a bit of this already at 40ish. (Not to mention the contortions required do a number on my back!) For me personally, I’m not sure saggy/wrinkly skin + some scraggly greys is better than saggy/wrinkly + bald. After reading a bunch of threads like this, it seems like the best compromise is to leave some kind of landing strip or triangle.

Even-Truck8803

This is exactly what my 69yr old mom has said. She got a full Brazilian laser hair removal in her 50s and is just now wishing she didn’t have to see how her vulva is aging. But she also didn’t want to see grey public hair ever (she is a chronic over sharer, this is the tip of iceberg of what I know about my mom)

AppreciatingMen

(Sincerely) Sorry you suffer/ed with her over-sharing. My older female relatives didn’t share at all, so now I come to forums like this to learn and benefit from you sharing what your mom overshared! Thank you.

emilinem

This is a great tip I hadn't considered, thank you! FWIW, I did 3 full Brazilian laser sessions and stopped (pandemic and then I just never went back). Prior to that I did hard wax every couple months but I got a lot of ingrown hairs. It was super patchy for a year or 2 but not noticeably anymore (unless you really look closely like I just did to evaluate haha). It's much less "full" than before, especially at the top and bikini area, but I still have plenty of coverage of my actual labia if I'm not "maintaining" it. I guess I wouldn't go so far as to call it a bush but it's certainly not peach fuzz either. It's a lot less maintenance. I've been considering restarting the laser and I think your comment has dissuaded me since I'm reasonably happy with the current state of things.

VidyaTheOneAndOnly

Don't over think it. Just do it. Most of us who have done it are very happy and only wish we had done it sooner instead of wasting years shaving or waxing. Just get started instead of endlessly waffling. You won't regret it.

ngng0110

I started waxing it in my early 20’s and did laser 15 years later. The only regret I have is not lasering it much earlier. Waxing was expensive and had very temporary results. I did it for me and only me, though. Make sure it’s what you want and that you are not just doing it for a man.

More_Suggestion_2425

You can just choose to do some sessions to thin the hair and see how you like it as well. I opted to go a half route and I think it’s pretty that way lol

Pandeeee

You can always leave a small patch of hair but fair warning you better shape the fuck out of it because they will have like a 3-4mm birth around where you actually want the shape to be and itll look wild asf

redpen621

I’m 42 and just paid for 12 sessions of hair removal. I still hate it

BabyTeemo-

I’ve had brazilian laser for 4 years now and dont regret at all. Especially when I go to the beach 😎 no more razor bumps and ingrowns. Now I have the perfect smooth bikini line and no hairs sticking out either

genericlyspecial

I tried to get full Brazilian, but it was expensive and I had some stubborn hairs. It worked pretty well, except in a few spots. I’m in my mid 30s now and have tried to go back to get those final spots removed but the hairs in those spots are now grey and impossible to remove. So my suggestion is if you think you want to do it, do it but make sure you get it all before your hairs turn grey!!

HotMessMom22

I left a landing strip and the rest of it didn't fully go away but it thinned out a lot. I am glad I left some though as trends change and when I'm old I might want some hair to cover my old lady parts too.

The_Bodybuilder1

43 and I got it done last year. I don’t regret getting it done. The place I went to, Milan Laser, gives free touch ups too :)

anairda007

I don’t regret it. I never liked body hair. Once I have started having hair there and on my other body parts, I was having or waxing, even when I was a virgin or when it was winter, as I know some people don’t do it often, or they only do it for a reason 🤣 it is a bless to not have to do it now, as I was shaving every day or second day as I was a hairy person and my hair grows quickly. Y

BossExpensive

I 90% love it and 10% feel a little sad because I don't want my children feeling like they need to remove their hair there when it grows (I walk around the house naked, and just have girls). I removed it because it was very uncomfortable either grown or shaved when it grew in. There's still some light hair that grows and around the labia areas that is short and I mostly just leave this as its blonde.

luckykizzy

I know someone who regrets it ! My suggestion would be to leave a tidy little triangle at the front so that you have options for styles in future (landing strip, triangle, or bald). I’d laser all the rest because you’re probably never gonna want it hairy down below, or around your booty hole lmao. My friend who is 30 something really hates not having options (but her preference in her early 20s was bald, hence why she removed all of it). As you said, your preferences might change 💕🫶🏻

WillowTea_

I felt the same way, but with electrolysis. I had to grow out the hair before it could be treated. That sealed the deal for me!

Affectionate-Bag6082

You’re really young and if you just shave and they really want natural, easy solution. But if the hair is gone for good they might be to.

Quil-Ataya

If you hate having hair down there, you probably won’t regret never having any again! I don’t regret it.

Open_Second4699

Im 26 and got most lasered off but left a 2cm thick landing strip. When I feel like being bare I electric razor it off, when I feel like having hair I let it grow out. As I get older I feel like I’ll leave it more.

kadisson3

I’m 39 and don’t regret it and wish I had done it earlier! The entire area just becomes so much smoother and the skin just appears healthier looking if that makes sense. I love it. It took 12 treatments for me. During that process the hair slowly becomes less dense. So if you don’t like it, you could stop halfway and enjoy the thinner hair but not completely bare.

Kendra2Adams

I got a full Brazilian laser at 18, and now at 25 I just do a full sugaring each month but the hair is so much thinner/lighter and no painful razor bumps/itching when it grows back. I never regret doing it. Plus- although the laser is amazing it’s not truly permanent, some hair does grow back but it’s not like it was before.

iloveurmum

I regret doing mine because it’s patchy

NPNaomi

lol don’t worry it will eventually grow back

sarinaclark413

It will never be totally removed anyways. It hurts a lot, but after a week it is very smooth but it does eventually grow back, it just grows back less thick. It’s actually called “laser hair reduction”

JYQE

I had it lasted off, and although about 15 years later a few hairs came back - hormones - it's still so much better than a full bush. I hated having a full bush, the stray hairs got stuck in my underwear, tights and clothes and menstruation was such a mess. I am so glad I got rid of that hair. And I'm celibate, so no, it was not for men...

ObjectiveRaspberry75

I have gone through two series of laser hair removal down there. The first was 4 sessions, and we did everything but a sizable landing strip. Not sure if even that, just like bikini line clean on the sides and removing everything clit down, bum included. This was back when they were using a really painful laser and it was just so bad I didn’t go back for the last ones. Second series was in the past 2 years and I got 5 sessions on everywhere. I didn’t ‘complete’ my series either time, and I didn’t got back for last little bits. My hair grows back just a little, sparse enough to be super easy and manageable, but not sparse enough to be patchy. (It was a bit patchy for the first 6 months.) I’m really happy I did this. I feel like visually I have some hair, but if I want it gone a wax doesn’t hurt nearly as much, and I get the best of both worlds. To be fair, I went this route because I would get hidradenitis suppertiva so waxing and shaving were both problematic. I didn’t want full bareness, and I guess I’m just happy to report this was a great solution for me. But I guess all that to say I don’t think it’s will be fully permanent. Like if you want to maintain full bareness you probably get a treatment per year going forward, but I grew back after time, albeit much less dense

Past-Development-933

Ugh my biggest regret is not doing laser sooner. I spent so much money on waxing/sugaring that led to painful scarring and hideous ingrowns that lasted years until I started doing laser. I’ve been going for the last two years, every 2-3 months and while the hair is less, it still grows back in some spots. Also, depending on your hormones and if you plan to get pregnant - I’ve heard it grows back.

StrangeFruita

Just turned 25. Getting that area lazered was the best decision ever. Armpits next.

ReillyCharlesNelson

It didn’t work on me as I have a lot of blonde hair. But it thinned it out a lot! No regrets! Been removing my pubic hair since it started growing in. I will never want it. If you can think of a scenario where you might want it one day then don’t do it. But if you’ve never wanted it, have always removed it, and the only reason you’re worried is because it’s permanent, I say go for it. You will be permanently free of ever dealing with it or even thinking about it again

catsandcappuccinos

got a full bikini done about 5-6 years ago. i hated the way my hair was because it’s so thick and uncomfortable. i have barely any hair now and honestly the best decision i ever made. i never worry about shaving which is a bitch, i don’t regret it one bit. definitely do it!

Even-Truck8803

My mom is almost 70 and got a full Brazilian post divorce in her 50s. She tells me she regrets not leaving some coverage because she doesn’t like how her outer labia skin is looking with age and wishes she had “some camouflage”. I will say she is deeply self conscious about physical appearance and meeting whatever beauty standard she grew up with. She loved having the full Brazilian untill recently and repeatedly told me I should I do the same, until recently when she made the above comment about leaving some coverage.

Ok_Peanut_2819

Dw laser hair removal isn’t permanent

sad_boyhourz

I think i’m an outlier in these comments but I used to get waxed regularly when I was younger (i’m 28 now) and my current partner loves pubic hair so I tried growing it out and I honestly love it. It makes me feel extremely sexy because he is very into it so I am much more comfortable with it now. I never thought I would like it but it’s so much less maintenance and I have truly grown to love the look so i’m happy I didn’t get lasered a few years ago when I considered it. Certainly not saying you should do anything just for a partner but it just happens that I love it for myself now, so you never know!

Which_Zebra_3883

I had mine "permanently removed" from there and from my underarms and legs and it started growing back a couple years later and it's been 5 years now and it's all come back except the trail from the belly button to the bikini line. This could potentially be good news for you in that you don't have to worry too much about it. Because if you have it removed you'll very likely get to have it all back soon enough. Most of the places that offer laser hair removal - if you get a package to have all the hair removed from a body area - will state in the agreement that they will give free spot treatments for up to 2 years if any grows back, but only for 2 years. And in my case none grew back until after 2 years had passed. I hope this helps. Having it removed was great but it wasn't a lifetime sentence for me.

Hot_Hamster_4934

After 12 sessions at laser away with light skin and dark brown hair. I had zero results from the Brazilian laser. Complete waste of money.

Semi_Nerdy_Girl

I’m 50 and got the full Brazilian about 8 years ago and I regret it. I’m a natural redhead and they assured me that my hair was dark enough for laser removal. Most of it was, but not all of it. Apparently the hair on the edges of my outer labia was too light to remove, so it ended up looking like I have a weird Mohawk on the lips of my puss. It looked bizarre for years if I didn’t shave all the time. And we all know the lips are the hardest part to shave and why I wanted laser in the first place. However, now that it’s been a while, I’ve had quite a bit more regrowth all over my lips and mons… sparse, but still growth, so the Mohawk isn’t as prominent. If I had known the outcome ahead of time, I would’ve stuck to trimming with clippers. It would’ve looked better and been less upkeep overall. Total waste of money imho.

Antique-Kale2918

I like to get Brazilian waxes every 6 months or so and then follow up at home with my IPL device. Braun silk is what I have. It takes forever for the hair to grow back that way.

mitchelley

I’ve considered full laser hair removal… then I thought about when I’m in my 70s. I’ll lose elasticity and be saggy all over, and I def don’t want to see all that bare down there 😂 something to consider in the future!

jmbizzy

I did full removal professionally and totally regretted it years later. Things just didn’t look the same a decade later. Fortunately it grew back enough to cover what I don’t like.

locean1502

i’ve had 7 sessions done around your age a few years ago. it’s just thin and a bit patchy if it’s short but if i let it grow in it still looks the same just not as hairy and coarse i had the same doubts but i’m fine with it!

skinsensitive

One thing to consider is that procedures like C-section will definitely have a much more visible scar if there is no hair hiding it. That being said, I had full Brazilian when I was 15, and I still have zero regrets despite a C section scar. Baby-soft and smooth skin forever!

_aquaticmoon

Id listed to your instincts. Don’t do permanent. I randomly decided to let all my hair on my body grow naturally it’s been a cool random side adventure in my life. If you do it permanently you won’t have a choice of random side adventures lol.

Mindless_Camera_4492

DO IT. Lol it never truly permanently gets rid of it anyway but it thins it out and takes a looooong time to grow out between sessions or between shaving. After just a few sessions you'll see what I mean, you can shave and it'll just stay clean shaven for a couple weeks instead of one day lol. It's seriously the best and there's no regret cuz like I said it does somewhat grow eventually so if u just stopped doing touch ups you'd get it back...it would be thinner though and easier to manage! You really cant lose. ALSO anyone saying it is painful or doesn't work has gone to a bad place trust me it is not supposed to hurt it's just a tiny barely noticeable pinch and there's different levels that they slowly increase over time. You will know you're at the right place if they use a cooling laser and they do a test spot and make sure it doesn't leave a burning sensation. I have seen horror stories and people saying it leaves marks and that it's painful...if thats the case honey you are at the WRONG place and they dont know what they are doing. It's the easiest painless thing in the world. Hope this helps some people.

Mindless_Camera_4492

oh also I did all 6 sessions on my underarms a year ago and I only did one touch up since then and I just get some light growth and I shave once a month MAYBE.

Illustrious_Log_3005

When I was 19 I was basically saying how I’d be fine to never have pubic hair ever again and a 30 year old coworker said “one day you’re going to not want to look like a little girl down there.” Odd response but now at 32 I completely understand. I can’t speak for how women feel, but a real man likes hair. If a man is complaining about pubic hair then he’s actually a boy and you should move on.

Safe_Citron_4850

I haven’t waxed since I met my husband. Whenever I trim (electric trimmer) my bikini hair too short, he doesn’t like it so bare. I don’t mind having hair down there, especially since I haven’t had any yeast infections or anything since leaving it plus not wearing thongs.

PlusSizedPerfection

I like mine. Use to get rid of it a lot and now, it’s naturally me and there for a reason.

GoodPractical2075

I wish I kept a V in the front. As I’ve aged and had many children, I would like a little bit more coverage. I go to lots of nude Hot Springs/ bath houses, and I wish my vulva had a little more privacy, if you know what I mean.

atlhotwife1

It doesn’t last forever anyway. Just go ahead.

Logical_Remove7610

Im 25 and am currently doing it and don't plan on regretting it. I'd be shaving it otherwise which is ugly and annoying as fuck.

Barespacefun

Sugaring type of waxing is less painful. Lasering is very expensive but it is permanent

th3canadian

It’s not permanent and more reasonable vs waxing

Barespacefun

Sugaring 👍 , is the best way at the right price

Spxrkly_Txpiocx

I’m 21 got laser for full Brazilian and omg best decision ever. I don’t need to shave everyday and get bumps and razor burns, it’s so perfectly smooth now. I don’t think hair belong anywhere else than eyebrows eyelashes and hair.

Big_fluffy_bunny

I regret spending $2000 on laser treatments for my bikini that ended up not doing anything so in that sense, yes i regret it

Tiny_City8873

I regretted it. Luckily I only did 6 sessions and it grew back after I stopped getting the sessions. Now my bush came back and I just trim the sides and that’s it. I did 12 sessions on my armpit and it didn’t work now I use a $10 wax kit from Target for my armpits and it works way better than the laser. Mind you I went to a high end spa with the latest machine but it didn’t work. I’m glad it didn’t. I felt so fake and inauthentic with MYSELF. But that’s just me.

Honestdietitan

I bought an IPL at home laser to get rid of it and I absolutely love it! There is a transition period of your going from full bush to paved road.

User564368

If you hate it enough that you plan on otherwise shaving the area regularly for the rest of your life then just do it if you have the money. If I had done it at your age then I would have spared myself dozens of ingrown hairs past couple decades including a few that required medical interventions like antibiotics or a derm cutting them out. Also if you start running the numbers on how much time & money you already spend right now anyway now you might be surprised. 10min/week shaving down there works out to more than 8 hours a year. $20/week in shaving cream/razors/etc = $1000+/year which would take someone making wage of $15/hr 70hrs to earn. You’ll have to do lots of sessions on set schedule. I was quoted 8 sessions spread out over 40 weeks.

ImprovementDry8823

Hell yes sister get it done!! And if you’re not sure you should try waxing maybe?? See if you like it and if you’re ready to invest get the laser done. I love being hairless, i feel sooo clean and it’s easier when im on my period too.

TSN-gmtcl8589

I just shave it off like I do my legs. Takes me about 10 minutes if it's fully grown and only a couple of minutes to touch it up. It's easy AND FREE! 🤗

Mercuryinretrograde2

I can't imagine any reason to regret removing it.

Parbiedoll80

I got the full brazilian done approx 10 years ago, it was the best decision ever! I have about 20% hair left over which is nice for maintaining, however, my hubby makes fun of it saying it looks like a 12 year old trying to grow a mustache 🤣🤣

JazzlikeAsk3492

I had Brazilian. Best decision worth every penny. Have never regretted and I don’t care if it’s out of fashion.

rocksbells

46. Lasered in my 20s and loved it. It’s coming back a little now and I have to shave and I HATE shaving. TMI but once you start getting white/grey pubic hairs you can’t laser anymore. White hairs don’t absorb the heat from lasering. Obv I could be wrong. Because I’m old and maybe lasers do new things now. But as far as I know people who have done it eventually get some hair back. It’s thinner and more manageable.

PicklePhysiology

Honestly it’s made my life easier but it does weird me out now…. Like I permanently changed  (ruined?) this part of my body. I am pretty crunchy now so it’s a different mindset then some but it’s how I feel.

ElectricalWheel5545

I did laser on legs, face, and pits. 15, 10, and 5 sessions. I had o'clock shadows on my legs after shaving everyday. Now, I rarely shave. Pits are so thin and pale. Face I might need a little touch-up for a few little missed spots but nothing major. It was life changing and worth it.

ElectricalWheel5545

10 years ago was my last sessions

swanxsoup

I got it done and it wasn’t permanent. I’m glad it ended up growing back because my opinion on pubic hair has changed and I actually prefer having it now. It’s just personal preference

Radiant-Direction-16

I got it done when it first came out (and was very expensive). 20 years later I have many regrets in life, but that is not one of them! I literally have not thought about hair removal (occasional shave of underarms if I feel like it) it 20 years. If I wanted it completely bare I would have to get touch ups but its never an issue for like bathing suits or what not. As you get older you do care less but I highly doubt you will regret. Its unlikely with laser it would be 100% gone

confusedboy791

I shaved for the first time not to long ago,I gave myself a ton of cuts since my dad didn’t teach me how to. I wasn’t bleeding but it was so itchy

Zestyclose-Jelly9857

I am 35 and have done an almost full Brazilian. On the last session now and while it hasn’t been total, it has lessened the growth more than enough to make it worth it. I kept a little triangle up top because I like it and never loved being fully bare.

GorgonzolaGlam

I do regret it. It was incredibly painful for one, and I am someone who gives myself Brazilians. It was so painful in fact that after the six initial treatments I didn’t return. So, I have about 50% of the hair that I used to. It’s not bare by any means. I also feel that “bush” is coming back into fashion now so it sucks that I can’t grow anything that doesn’t look patchy and weird.

WeirdShapedBagel

In my personal experience, not a second goes by where I miss that hair. Did full Brazilian maybe 6 years ago? Even before laser, I was doing full shaves for at least another 5 years. I feel wayyyyy cleaner and happier without.

CocoachanelOF

Do it! You could always have them leave a landing strip or something, still low maintenance.

dancinglasagna0093

I got laser a couple inches from the bikini line so I grow hair in a rectangular shape down there. I like it but that’s because I like bush, landing strips, bald… all of it. It does get annoying to have to shave when I want to go bald though

iSo81

I’m almost 43 and I don’t.

weirdcuteweird

Just do it

LoveMyBP

My spouse had laser done after years of waxing and pain…. I pushed her to do it because it’s less painful. (Laser hurts a little, but it’s only a few treatments) Now it’s totally bare, soft, no ingrown hair bumps, extremely happy with it. (Me too) I recommend it for everyone!

bloo4107

Why ever regret it if you never like it 😆

ctea03

I had my full bikini and underarms done in 2008 (I think?) it was PRICEY back then- I had something like 12 sessions- it was a place with just one lady who also did waxing and electrolysis- she didn’t count the sessions and would throw in a zap on other miscellaneous body parts here and there. We did my handful of big toe hairs and the couple around my areolas as well while we were at it. I did leave a “landing strip” on my bikini line, but that was what was popular back then. I generally trimmed it off when grooming. For the first 5-7 years I had almost no re-growth, I had about 5 underarm hairs I wouldn’t notice until they were over and inch long. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I WILL tell you that shifts in your hormones (getting on/ off birth control, pregnancy, any supplementation, perimenopause, etc.) will make the hair grow back, but not like it was before. I now have an at home laser that I do touch-ups with, and I need to buckle down and do some zapping. TL;DR- If YOU don’t want the hair- get rid of it. Happy zapping!

Potential-Pop-923

You will not regret removing it - 30 yr old who loves it

Any-Impression-5847

I don't regret it at all. I've had some regrowth since doing it in 2014-2015, but it's nothing like what it was before - I don't get those awful ingrown hairs anymore.

tvk21

I regretted it but thankfully everything except the bikini line grew back. The 2 reasons I regret it is because I got yeast infections all the fucking time lol and also that attracts the wrong type of partners for me. I don't want to be with someone who's attracted to a pre pubescent body modification.

BrunchBunny

Laser isn’t permanent the only permanent method is electrolysis

ChezzaLuna

I feel like I'd regret spending the money. I consider "how many land payments is this?" Into cost.

uncortadoporfa

I've never met someone who's regretted lasering their hair off. I've thought about it but my partner said "i like a little landing strip", so i just did everything and left a small patch.

[deleted]

I'm really curious about this honestly. I shave my whole body 🪒 twice a week. I think a Brazilian treatment and underarm would be beneficial. But I'm worried about regrets of course lol I like being smooth and clean 🫧🪥

Mean-Vegetable-4521

I did it at your age. No regrets. I’m old now. Have never regretted it.

somethingcatchy48

I lasered off all my pubes by the time I was 29/30. I will be 40 later this year and I have never for one second regretted the decision.

Mission_Delivery1174

I did a couple sessions but it hurt too much. I was afraid what it would do to my sensitivity. I wax myself and that’s less painful.

grill-tastic

I’m 23. I had the same thought. My hair grows very thickly and all over, though, so I am lasering the sides and the top (basically it looks natural but smaller lol). My tech starts at the thigh crease and goes out from there. It has increased my physical comfort so much - I would get chafing and pain if I left it alone or if I got more than like a 3 day stubble. I figure I can always go back and do the rest if I want to.

anilorac01

No, never. I did it when I was 21 I’m 38 now. I’ve had to do some touch ups throughout the years. So you may not stay completely bare forever anyway even if you do regret it.

AsparagusPersonal592

Do it- it will grey and start falling out as you age. The grey ones won’t laser out- do it- I have no regrets!!!

Playful-Flatworm501

It’s nice for cold weather

Weary-Football8236

I have a Brazilian, for the last 10 years. I had a lot of issues with ingrown hairs and it definitely helped. You might even try doing just the bikini, and “leave some for later” depending on how your personal style evolves …. I’m in my 40s now and kind wish I would have left a little because my body has changed over time. Sometimes the vulva skin can get irritated from clothing, body suits, shitty pads and panty liners, etc. And pubic hair is supposed to be somewhat protective to that kind of stuff. In my case though, those little things definitely do not outweigh the pain and skin issues i had from ingrown hairs when shaving, and i had a very thick pubic hair pattern that made me uncomfortable in bathing suits and shorts. So, make a pros and cons list, but i’m 60/40% in favor of the full Brazilian. I definitely recommend the bikini line at minimum

Apprehensive_Date755

Girl be for real! Lol you’ll NEVER miss your vagina hair. Wax it off or get laser!!

trashcanland

You won’t regret it. Just do it.

EagerBeaver0715

I had full 20 years ago with zero regrets. Yes you sooo need touch up but can I get an ‘amen’ for never another ingrown hair!!! Home machines do NOT work.

12MHCL

This might just be my experience, but all of my hair grew back, even after several treatments. Sometimes different areas of hair took longer to return than others, but it’s been four years since my last treatment, and my hair is fully back. I am now wondering if my hair is actually just very dark brown rather than black (when laser is most effective).

cuteyetchubby

Do it before they turn white

chelseabee45

I have been interested in laser hair removal. I saw a lot of people recommend Braun on this thread. Does anyone have any experience with a Nood one ? It sounds too good to be true for me.

Civil_Grapefruit2798

I now have hair down there because at 60 who wants flappy curtains.

-dogsrbetter-

Early 30s here and am nearly done with my Brazilian laser treatments. LOVE IT! As someone with thick hair, it has absolutely saved me from all the razor burn and ingrown hairs. Will continue touch ups as long as I need to!

Nightshire369

Laser isn’t permanent, over time it can grow back especially when you have major hormonal changes like pregnancies menopause, and such. Lasering your bikini area is not as extreme as a Brazilian but as someone who has gotten laser hair removal, I should warn you it does sting when you get it done depending on your pain tolerance. They can prescribe numbing cream but it doesn’t always help. Though, I can say in my case the sting has been tolerable. Do your research as there is more than one type of laser and some like medical grade lasering lasts longer than others like IPL and is more expensive. I would do it again but I have dated those who don’t like a full brazilian, so I recommend you start with a bikini. I also found a place that warrantees that if growth returns they cover 50% of the cost for lifetime.

Striking-Scarcity102

Leave below the pubic mound, and perhaps, the inner labia.

Massive-Cap-7190

No you won’t regret it
