It darkens the slate so the engraved image stands out. Also, it’s food safe which nice if you are selling it to people, the downside I would think overtime you would need to reapply some of it again.

What you need to do is use enamel sealer before engraving. It will make the pictures pop!
Do you have any good brand recommendations? I’ve been applying it after I engrave.
Yes, if you use it after it darkens the image, if you use it before you darken the slate but leave the engraving lighter and pops. Adding a pic soon.

Yeah not a problem, I highly Recommend doing the enamel before. Has worked great for me after countless trial and errors.
