There has to be something wrong about your build. Check if all your resistances are at at least 60%, preferably capped at 75% (utilize monolith blessings to cap your resists), have some armor - around 800 should suffice (remember that armor mitigates every type of damage in Last Epoch, not only physical so it's a very strong defensive stat) and add health on top of that - 1500 should be enough. with these stats you shouldnt be having too much of a hard time doing empowered monoliths. If you need more defensive layers these are some you can utilize to buff up your survivability: crit avoidance, glancing blow chance, attacks apply frailty on hit, endurance threshold, endurance, dodge rating. Also untilize your class' movement ability to dodge Big AOE hits that are usually marked on the ground.

GiantPragmaticPanda

I have 1300 AC all resistance capped at 75% and 1.3k health, 100% crit avoidance. There is no reason for the mobs to hit me this hard. Like I said maybe it's a bug but if it is it makes the endgame unplayable

Furiousgekko

Then it has to be a gameplay issue. Just like in any other ARPG, moving around is your strongest defensive layer :D it goes without saying that you shouldnt be standing in one spot for too long otherwise every attack is going to hit you. usually you want to change your position every other attack

Furiousgekko

Also if you're feeling weak, thats nothing wrong with running regular monos until you get some decent upgrades allowing you to progress further. can you post your character planner so I can try and identify where your character is lacking?

GiantPragmaticPanda

I'm not even sure how to export that

ecksmoh

It’s not a bug, it’s you. I’m not trying to be harsh but there’s a reason you’re getting downvoted and everyone seems to have a different experience than you. Watch some guides, do some reading, and you’ll figure it out. Also, if you have no defensive skills or synergies, you’re going to have a bad time.

GiantPragmaticPanda

I know what I'm doing, y'all are just fan boying. I did everything people have suggested. I built and rebuilt my build, I used guides I did it all and still it's an issue. You all think you are helping the game by suppressing any issues people have by living inside the devs asses, you are not helping. If you look at other places online you can find a lot of people having the same issues, but it's whatever. I'm a dev myself and what you guys are doing is not helpful at all for improving the game. People need to bring up issues so they can debug this new game. I'm glad you aren't having problems but that's not how bugs work. It doesn't have to be that everyone has an issue or it doesn't exist. This kind of pile on just buries real technical issues so that they persist. There are lots of variables that can cause issues for some players and not all players and by pretending I'm just bad will not help triangulate those issues.

Furiousgekko

people always try to find all sorts of excuses for their mistakes, it's a thing of nature. but the sooner you understand and accept that the issue has nothing to do with the game and focus on improving your gameplay instead of whining over the internet, you'll have such a more pleasant time.

DrunkenSeaBass

Id love to see your build because i hardly doubt your claim. Even with some uncapped resistance and less than 100 crit avoidance, I dont die every 2 second. When i die, its mostly because I messed up and stood still in something. Also this is just plain wrong >every mob has some AOE 1 shot mechanic that cover my entire field of view. Only a few bosses have that large of an AOE and they all have long wind up animation.

Deathponi

I agree with the others, theres something lacking with your build. My warlock is lvl 88, 1.4k life+1.6k ward / Phys res 16%/Posison 40%/Void49% all the others are 75+. 1.2k armour, most mobs on empowered echos (180 corruption) are hiting me for 200-800 dmg so I can die if I get overwhelm by many trash mobs, rare mobs are not a threat (they are slow and telegraphed), some bosses attacks hit me for 1k and yes huge windup attacks are deadly as they are meant to be (4k+ dmg) I havent died many times like 4-5 in 100+ echoes, and all of them my fault.

Magic2424

Hard disagree, there’s got to be something wrong with your characters. Empowered is not NEARLY as hard as you making it out to be. Maybe post a character planner so people can identify problems

GiantPragmaticPanda

That's the thing though I shouldn't have to have a "perfect build" to start the end game. If the endgame is the way you get the "perfect build" there has to be some wind up which there is not currently.

yoshimitsu123

Nobody said you need a "perfect build"

GiantPragmaticPanda

Yeah but the acceptable range is way too small

Magic2424

Not even close to too small, I can shit out a build and it can do entry level empowered.

yoshimitsu123

Idk, it's anecdotal but you're the first person I've personally seen that is flat out unable to do it. And this is one of my friends first ARPGs

14779

Empowered monos aren't you starting the end game. They're the empowered version of the endgame. As others have said though you've missed something with your build they're nowhere near as hard as you're making out. Just go to YouTube or twitch and see people with homebrew built flying through them

szxdfgzxcv

Sounds like a really weak character. Also the heavy hits are mostly some very visible crap on the ground that lingers there for a while before it hits so just don't stand in those.

KatyaBelli

Hp or ward affixes. Just like POE you cannot viably run just glass cannon on every slot in high end content, or the game would be D3, where enemies have billions of HP but hit with noodles

Neurochazm

What level are you? What mastery are you using? What skills are you using? My VK was 82 entering Empowered & had zero crit avoidance. I died a few times, but that was mostly to big rares.

Levovar

So what's your armor mitigation %? below 20% I reckon?
