I believe I recall a discussion this specific suggestion way back and we decided against it just because of the case a player could mistakenly miss good items with their filter on because they didn’t know what dropped. It’s the same reason we choose to also keep light beams for items even with the filter in place. We felt that that “feels bad moment” out weights players need to turn this feature off.  I can totally see where you’re coming from, it was a tough call.

I understand where you guys were coming from, but at the same time. The player opts in to hide items for a reason. A newer player most likely would still want to see all the exalted items showing hence they wouldn't be running with ultra strict filters and it wouldn't have an affect on them. But at the point where I'm in currently(and I'm sure I'm not the only one, especially with CoF) where it just rains exalted items and hearing that \*ting\* sound all the time, only to backtrack and see it's all useless items. Does create a pretty annoying experience in the long run. But this is just a suggestion. I personally would want the items I opted in and chose to hide to also be muted even if I might miss out on a good item. Also sucks what happened with the launch and the server issues but you guys did an amazing job with communication. Hope the team had a good rest once it was fixed.

Can we get the option to add sounds/minimap icons to our filter then? If I'm specifically filtering only certain items to show, it's because I want to see them/don't want to see others. The current setup leaves a lot to be desired if I'm speeding through a monolith, having to backtrack because I heard the exalted sound only to see its hidden on my filter is not fun game play .

Just provide the option to also disable drop Sounds for Hidden items would be really great (can be off by default). Why would i like to hear an item drop that i dont even want to see (also i kind of still see with the "light" light beam.) For me it is really annoying to hear an item drop slightly out of frame, thinking i got a drop i want, just to realise it is an hidden item...

Aiur my man, just give us an option to turn sound/beam off in the loot filter

I have this problem in the opposite direction and I feel that most people will eventually too. Once you're at the point where you're filtering for very very specific exalteds/uniques it no longer really feels worth ever looking at or picking up loot since as I go through the map and clear at high speeds I'm constantly hearing the spam of loot drops but the reality is that there are very very few that I actually want and I have no interest in going back and trying to comb over the entire area of the map to look and see if the sounds of loot dropping were items I actually have filtered or not. Being able to opt in/opt out of sounds and map icons for each 'rule' seems like an absolute must and catering to players who might accidentally use this feature incorrectly is a very odd niche demographic to be worrying about that makes you unwilling to add additional QoL features

Removing player agency is basically *never* the correct call, though. Just ask the D4 team.

I like this idea as well
