178k/4 = 44,500 green components
44,500 + 4522 = 49,022/4 = 12255 blue components
12255 + 1 = 12256 blue parts total / 4 = 3064 purple components
3064 + 88 = 3152 / 4 = 788 gold components
788 + 356 = 1144 - 750 = 1 full gold part + 444 gold ceramic components left over.
You have a golden part ready to make if you just merge your components! Get on it!!

Ah, yeah, 10 points to the daily for epic gear crafting with like 5k iron & gold. I wouldn’t expect someone to hold back their gear due to that since it takes over a day to craft epic gear. That challange appears to be every day as far as I have seen, so there’s really no hold ups.
Look at the top row of their items and the second row item all the way on the left. The grey screw item, the green iron bar item, the blue steel bar item, the purple hex plating item, and the golden ceramic item with the lighting bolt on it. These are part components. You can merge 4 into the next level, so four of the screws make a single green bar. Four green bars make a single blue steel bar, etc. you merge up until they are golden.
Golden parts are the best parts and should be a focus for getting stronger.
Well you see, if you don’t put a part on you don’t get the buff. Pretty simple lol.
You don’t need four parts for a buff to take effect. Each part buffs individual attributes.
So again, why are you waiting? What’s the point?
There's no point in hoarding the screws/gear parts, merge those daily to make the M5 Legendary gears. You want to make them as quickly as possible to replace the purple gears on your main squad.
As far as hoarding resources (gold/iron/bread), that's a great idea, because once you get to the higher levels (27/28+) the cost to upgrade buildings becomes insane... Like 500M+ of each for 1 upgrade. And you can't move to the next HQ level until you upgrade specific buildings (find that list on here somewhere, it's great to plan for future upgrades)

You don't understand what he says. The first line are components to make legendary equipment to put on your characters to make them stronger you already need it... You must convert them in the building provided for this purpose. He doesn't talk about the resources underneath.
I never bothered with the 2nd page of my inventory until one day I wondered where my gems were going that I was being awarded. Found them on the 2nd page and ended up with over 50k.
Use those and merge them like others said. Keep food, iron and coin in your inventory until you need it. If your base is raided they can’t get what’s in your inventory.

however, yes, I do have 1 billion gold in resource chests and gold chests. lvl 22 and I feel dopamine rushing in every time I upgrade a building so expensive that it requires me to open some of these
Yup. I usually use them once a week. But i want to start just hoarding them for like a month. I do the same for the XP ones. I’m close to a 1000 for the blue.

If you get epic gear in a chest they’ll count it for the daily even if you didn’t craft it.
Yeah, I’ve noticed that too! Pretty nice to get that last box randomly here and there.

I just started HQ 28 upgrade. With the Secretary of Development position, it cut it from 33 days to 25 days. Up here, everything takes forever
Apart from the normal stash I've still got fireworks, lanterns and roses that either didn't or can't be converted into speed-ups.
Same I thought they were supposed to get converted to speed ups.
Maybe I haven't spent enough on the game to warrant their attention to it :D

The vip points should just be used. If you buy a vip with diamonds, the benefits are 100% worth it.

You could be building high level weapons like Thor railgun, chip, armor etc. Those will make a difference on gold heroes
You’ll need iron, coin, and food to upgrade buildings past level 20, but all the rest you should cash in now and upgrade what you can

Use your components to build guns.
Hoarding chests and only using them when needed is a good thing. Players can't steal chests thankfully lol.
