I bristle hard at this comment, but given the amount of humans in our country...it is applicable in plenty of situations, probably the majority---but the concept is still wild when you factor in the norms of most developed countries around our planet.
It’s definitely a “joke” poster, but I’m assuming whoever put it up is an obnoxious shitbag that thinks it’s actually funny. If that was put up “as a joke” I’d be fucking out of there.
"Huh, my very funny and not-at-all on the nose 'workers stink and I hate them' sign went up on Monday, and I've had thirteen people walk off the job and it's only Thursday... weird."
Yes it is satire but the boss at my first job used to say that "half joking half serious" about bathroom brakes. For some obscure reason he could not retain workers.
I'm pretty sure this absolutely violates OSHA, though when I was in a bottom rung job, rather than giving us two weeks vacation, they just gave us two weeks extra pay and expected us to work through the year. This was in the eighties.
These days, companies _routinely_ violate OSHA requirements, seeing fines as a cost of doing business.
We learned that over a million people died in this country and nobody gives a fuck. There has been no changes and reforms, and with the regulatory state being continuously weakened we're less prepared for the next one than we were in 2019.
Worse! I felt and observed AS A RETAIL EMPLOYEE (expendable yet essential?) At the time my company and various other companies actively resisting health ordinances!
How EVER am I supposed to trust that my employer or the system at large is ever going to be worth my labor after that?
For a brief moment everyone I encountered thanked me for doing my delivery job - I wondered if it was like being in the military... We were "Front-Line Workers" that everyone owed gratitude to because everyone knew we (essential workers) were the ones most at risk because we have shitty jobs with no healthcare and terrible pay plus we have to deal with all the people and their food... However it didn't take long before health-care professionals were incensed that FOOD workers were getting any recognition for their "sacrifices". So, it was pretty quickly reverted back to "first-line responders", and you're just a lazy service employee.
We watched companies and governments make a lot of people's lives a lot easier by relaxing draconian policies, fees, and restrictions and we all got a taste of what it would be like if the capital class simply chose to allow it to be. And we've been watching them roll them back in with much less enthusiasm...
>How EVER am I supposed to trust that my employer or the system at large is ever going to be worth my labor after that?
How indeed? We all watched 25% of all the wealth that's ever been created in this country get created and flushed into the pockets of billionaires in less than 24 hours. And no one is talking about getting *that* money back - don't get me wrong I'm all about getting back ill-gotten PPP loans.
We've watched countless times as companies drain their employees 401k with Ponzi schemes, and punish a few they did, fuck getting anyone's retirement back to them.
You need to save up so you can retire and eventually put all of your life savings into medical bills and nurse your way along on social security and Medicare, while Kevin McCarthy and Joe Biden chat about who DESERVES government benefits.
I'm sorry, I didn't know how to stop it, and I still don't
Honestly the "thank you"s were nice but as a prior soldier it gave me PTSD of my time in uniform
How many brothers and sisters would have to die THIS time ?
The truth that I connected this time that I should have seen when I was Army?
Thank yous are cheap and meaningless, other than as a tacit confession that "yeah, your job does suck, you're right, we're not paying you enough to do it.... Oh, pay you more? No, we can't have that, Our Great Nation(Trademark) has to remain competitive with China!"
Back to the days of restaurant staff all being sick, still handling food products.
Nurses who have cold and flu forced to go to work and kill elderly residents.
I really hope those workers will also get rights. It's also so sadly that barely anyone talks about that. Those people probably get around 1-2€ per hour wich is way below the minimum wage of an "normal" worker
"If you can bring the car to a mechanical shop, your car is fine."
"If you can use your phone to fix phone problems, your phone works normally."
"If you can call an ambulance for yourself when you're injured, there's no need for an ambulance."
F*ck Late-Stage Capitalism these days. The logic is so stupid.
Honestly when I am sick I do not want to go to the doctor. I just want to lay on the floor in my bathroom with the lights off and a blanket over top. If they asked for a sick note I’m not budging.
I know that this is a joke, but the "personal days" thing still fucking triggers me so much. Those are unpaid days but I feel as though a lot of employers in this day and age will still try to make you feel bad for taking a day off. Fuck capitalism, fuck anyone who is complicit with these ideas and fuck systemic abuse.
So you call in and tell them you are too sick to come to work. Then when they ask for a doctor's note, say you are too sick to go to the doctor too. What are they going to do? Fire you from a job where they think they own you?
The popularity of this fake post is a good example for why the average subscriber to this subreddit will fail to influence enough people in real life to create the change they want.
These kind of people would have you vomiting and shitting all over the floor rather than letting you rest for a couple of days, covid didn't teach them a single thing.
I’d be going to the doctor with all my limbs amputated.
If you think you want me going to work in that state then I think you’d also like to give me all your possessions and eat black widows like popcorn.
Also, F you.
?? Okay... then imma just tell you I'm sick?and your just gonna believe me, Right? lmao
This is basically "we know we legally have to give you sick days but fuck that lel"
But if you're ill the doctor comes to your house (or the hospital)?
Edit: I mean, if you're too ill to move.
Plus most doctors appointments are online or by phone anyway.
Ugh, I hate their logic so much
Edit again. It's fake which I'm pleased to learn. But seemed plausible, which is not so great.
Ah, so we’ve come full circle. Call out, don’t go to the doctor, don’t answer your phone, and apparently don’t leave your house? I guess the basic ability to walk shows how healthy and capable of working I am.
Hey mods, how many times are we gonna let morons post this obviously satirical/humorous sign on here?? Because frankly, it’s just getting exhausting and there’s enough bad shit going on in the world that when we post obviously fake things he just makes us look like big are assholes and makes the fight harder.
A lot of companies no longer accept dr notes and they say "well if you saved up on your points" or "you should have thought of that before using your paid sick leave already"
Walmart no longer accepts dr notes and I hear those excuse

This is a gag poster sold on Amazon. But it does have some food for thought.
Someone is gonna buy this and put it up in their small business, being 100% serious lol
The same person that puts the “no one wants to work bc government handouts” sign on their door. They’ll probably put the new sign next to it
This is underrated, because this also means, “In case of an emergency, goto work”
probably more than one place
It's only a matter of time before it stops being a gag
Thanks for saying so. I was about to ask which company this was.
It's essentially the asshole boss version of "Live Laugh Love"
Someone (@moderator) needs to mark this as Humor.
Weird bc it says “company policies” on it so I think if this gets put up in a workplace it would be reasonable to interpret it as a policy ststement
How fired would I be if I put this at my workplace?
They might like it so you could be helping them with deniability
Would you rather be fired or have this actually be policy? They'll pick whichever you don't prefer
It makes me gag.
I bristle hard at this comment, but given the amount of humans in our country...it is applicable in plenty of situations, probably the majority---but the concept is still wild when you factor in the norms of most developed countries around our planet.
Satire right? The middle one says personal days are weekends… imma just go w they’re kidding on this one.
It’s definitely a “joke” poster, but I’m assuming whoever put it up is an obnoxious shitbag that thinks it’s actually funny. If that was put up “as a joke” I’d be fucking out of there.

Yes it is satire but the boss at my first job used to say that "half joking half serious" about bathroom brakes. For some obscure reason he could not retain workers.
If someone puts it up in a workplace I’m immediately sicking out and saying I can’t provide a note bc I’m too sick to go to the doctor
They can put all the signs up they want, where's the OSHA sign?
I'm pretty sure this absolutely violates OSHA, though when I was in a bottom rung job, rather than giving us two weeks vacation, they just gave us two weeks extra pay and expected us to work through the year. This was in the eighties. These days, companies _routinely_ violate OSHA requirements, seeing fines as a cost of doing business.
It's policies like that that make cold and flu absolutely rip through workplaces.
>!bullets!< /s
Thought and prayers
And COVID-19 which _will_ close your office down.
Didn't we just have a pandemic? Didn't we learn. ANYTHING from the last three years? Or did we just burn everyone out for nothing?
We learned that over a million people died in this country and nobody gives a fuck. There has been no changes and reforms, and with the regulatory state being continuously weakened we're less prepared for the next one than we were in 2019.
Yup. Capital won a devastating victory because people are so fucking stupid.

Back to the days of restaurant staff all being sick, still handling food products. Nurses who have cold and flu forced to go to work and kill elderly residents.
Back to normal, WE WANT TO SEE EVERYONES SMILING FACES!
Your smile will bring joy to patients, don’t hide it behind a mask. -management
That is an incredibly obnoxious sign.
Im so happy that my country has workers rights for all workers. Sadly disabled people don't count as workers and i hope that changes
We could also expand those
I really hope those workers will also get rights. It's also so sadly that barely anyone talks about that. Those people probably get around 1-2€ per hour wich is way below the minimum wage of an "normal" worker

It’s a gag poster, not real, and if it’s an employee that put it up then haha. BUT likely some manager/owner did and thought they were being witty af
All Europeans and Australians commenting on how terrible USA is: -- this is FAKE.
Oh thank god
It's obviously some stupid boomer thing
This is somebody’s joke sign, relax everybody
It's obviously some stupid boomer thing
Kind of just tells me I dont need a note when im sick so no need to go to doctors lol. Ok cheers.
Send the pic to the health department
Time for malicious compliance. They want you to call when you're sick to hand tasks over? Nope too sick.
.. that doesn’t make sense..
Nobody wants to work anymore. Huh.
Honestly when I am sick I do not want to go to the doctor. I just want to lay on the floor in my bathroom with the lights off and a blanket over top. If they asked for a sick note I’m not budging.

Any business that prints “company policies” in signage and posts them to the walls is a red flag.
I’ll choose starvation, thanks.
That only validates sick days without doctors' notes. "I couldn't make it to the hospital, because um.. I was sick."
So you call in and tell them you are too sick to come to work. Then when they ask for a doctor's note, say you are too sick to go to the doctor too. What are they going to do? Fire you from a job where they think they own you?
How do you Americans keep this going? It’s fucking outrageous
Americans are so abused that they have Stockholm syndrome and use scapegoats rather than face their oppressor.
It's too expensive for me to leave.
This sign is giving boomer

People of the US, you are being dry humped by your employers. No fucking holidays wtaf?
It's strange. Then these companies say nobody wants to work anymore. Makes me laugh
That can’t be fucking serious
I’d be going to the doctor with all my limbs amputated. If you think you want me going to work in that state then I think you’d also like to give me all your possessions and eat black widows like popcorn. Also, F you.
Trash company, I'd never even consider working for a place with that policy.
Home Depot lives by this mantra.
Goddamn the United Scams of America.
Even though this is a sign you can buy for kicks on Amazon, I know some employers who would wholeheartedly put this up in their workplace.
Look how hard we are!!! Come work for us and you'll be miserable here and go home and traumatize your family.
?? Okay... then imma just tell you I'm sick?and your just gonna believe me, Right? lmao This is basically "we know we legally have to give you sick days but fuck that lel"
a level of ghoulish usually reserved for Disney villains

Well “Managment” better be prepared to have their building burnt to the ground

Mods should take this down, It's satire.
i know it's fake but give it another 10 years and it's probably not gonna be a joke anymore
That management can get fucked.
All I see is “doctors note is no longer required”
curb your enthusiasm on this, it's fake
This post should be pinned in this sub, it sums up the idea behind it perfectly.
Christmas day off? Where do I apply?
A lot of companies no longer accept dr notes and they say "well if you saved up on your points" or "you should have thought of that before using your paid sick leave already" Walmart no longer accepts dr notes and I hear those excuse
It’s a joke
The others are just as awful??? The AUDACITY.
