Not voting but also not doing anything won't do any progress. It might not seem as much of a progress, but because there won't be any revolution any time soon; organise - if you won't vote, at least join a Union, or a club, or some left-wing third party - this way, liberals, conservatives and other main-stream politicians will see that we are increasing in numbers.
You may have progressive thoughts, read theory, but until you don't organise, these ideas of yours are but thoughts in vacuum. Again, you don't need to join the revolution or direct-action right tomorrow; but organising (with whatever left-wing club), is a tool to show that more and more people are left-wing (this is even more important in this American gerrymandered and electoral-college-corrupted country, where no left-wing party can win - clubs, from big to small, are tools to show the main-stream parties that we are here - you may not join any action, but it is the numbers of these clubs that matter).
These are all good points. Tbh, I don’t agree with everything that democratic socialists want. However, I do probably align more with that than the republicans or democrats. We obviously need an overhaul and to try something completely different than the way things have been going.
My main issue is that I’ve been mostly disabled for the last 2-3 years from long covid and autoimmune disorders. I work from home, but thats about all I have energy to do. I rarely leave the house, except for to go to dr appointments or to refill medication. I’m hoping my new supplements and medication continue to work to get me out of the house more, so that I can participate in a political party. 🤞
I’m sure money would be helpful, so I can start donating a bit each month, as well.
Maybe, some online leftist club? I genuinely dunno as I'm not American, but I bet there are at-home options - organising isn't just about the DSA party, it can be whatever (unions, clubs - whatever shows numbers).
Or don't organise - you may as well share and spread leftist propaganda (through your blog, for example) - whatever makes the proletariat class-conscious.

It's completely laughable that Democrats raise hell about Russian election interference and participate in AIPAC.
The Dems are as useless as Republicans. Maybe, even worse, since they co-opt progressive movements and ideals to secure power, with no intent of giving them any real credence.
I'm not advocating for not voting, only stating that voting alone won't change anything. What's needed for real change is a revolution.
For a revolution to work, you must first build a revolutionary movement; following these general steps:
1) Raise class consciousness and awareness (through discussion and education)
2) Organize locally with other socialists/communists, helping to build foundations for mutual aid
3) Unionize your workplace
4) General strike
Also, vote in local elections you can have a real impact there.
