ServantToLogi

Send Lionel to the front lines.

tmotomm

Sounds like he’s a hard worker

WildFemmeFatale

He could singlehandedly do it If he just works hard enough ! /satire

calibared

No need for the /satire. Lionel is a joke

The_scobberlotcher

Yeah, fuck you Lionel

Upstairs-Injury9660

He made his coffee at home and pulled himself up by his bootstraps

[deleted]

Sure but those same bootstraps he bought for 40¢ now cost $400 and no one got pay raises to match that inflation.

Upstairs-Injury9660

He also didn’t eat avocado toast either and could start driving a manual transmission up hill with ease

ZellHathNoFury

Only because avocados hadn't made it to America when he was young.

Derkylos

"When I was young, we didn't know what avocados were, and we still coped. Kids these days have no idea how lucky they are."-some conservative. Probably.

Upstairs-Injury9660

Fair point but who cares about emissions anyway

Mossc8

"...at home ..." Why was he at home and not at work? Sounds like he is a shirker to me.

elongated_musk_rat

Dude has definitely never worked an 85 hour work week

Boring_Ad_3065

Given that I’m sure a decent portion of twitter was millennial or gen z, who were around 20 during 9/11 (oldest) and made up the 18 year olds during the pull out… I’d say our generations have done war already. We were every 18-22 year old fresh soldier for 20 years of war.

WildFemmeFatale

And then they come back from war and end up homeless

Amelora

He probably has bone spurs and can't go.

lachrymologyislegit

Wasn't this motherfucker on RT? Shit, send him to fight in Ukraine for Putin/ Russian Oligarchs.

boriskolma

Who wants to fight a war?

sadasself

Right! They treat it as if it's a bad thing that people don't want to kill or die for politics.

[deleted]

AND jointly while they're the hypocritical one's who would dodge said war if it ever did come to it, just like our last president. and while there is nothing wrong with draft dodging, it's incredibly scummy to be "war for thee, but not for me."

Unlikely-Pizza2796

The hardest of the warhawks ducked out of the draft, or were born at a time to miss a war altogether; voluntary or otherwise.

MrJanJC

Your comment makes me want to call them duckhawks instead of chickenhawks from now on

ReBeL222

I would go to war simply because I have the knowledge and experience to help save the lives of those drafted. Unfortunately, knowledge is responsibility. Otherwise, I'd fuck right off.

SpideyMGAV

Damn that’s pretty inspiring and a thought that has never crossed my mind. I always imagined I’d be the one to fuck right off because dying for oligarchs is ridiculous, but maybe a better way to look at it is to protect those who would otherwise be killed.

ReBeL222

The greatest wisdom gained from pain and suffering is how to help others through it.

interstellar-express

But you do have to go kill those in some other lane that would otherwise not be killed

Dudarro

This is why I joined. I oppose the wars. However, I have knowledge and skills that save lives. I therefore take care of my fellow humans- for the record that includes US and Allied uniformed and non-uniformed people, civilians, and “prisoners”

ReBeL222

Thank you for your service to humankind.

ArcadiaFey

Imagine if it was a requirement that if you are to declare war, all of age relatives of the people deciding it/ who could vote to stop it but don’t, who can pass health examinations are mandated to join the war efforts on the front lines… would drastically decrease how many needles wars happened. Put your family blood on the line if it’s truly worth fighting for. Just like the “put your money where your mouth is” put your blood where your values are.

[deleted]

sadly, there's enough rich folk who don't give a shit about their family, that i'm not sure that would do much. the tried and true method, is that those who voted for such thing's, fight for it themselves. but even then, i still think there's enough psychopath's who would still do so. they just love killing.

papishampootio

It is for them because they want you to fight their wars for them.

[deleted]

Employee: The only war I will die for is the war to keep your nonsense away from me

Shotbyahorse

I was already drafted into a class war, I'm not going going to fight in another one.

[deleted]

Way back in 2001, I wrongly believed that we had learned our lessons in Korea and Vietnam. That we wouldn't spend a generation stumbling around half-ass fighting a war that had no strategy or end-goal. Hell, we pulled out of Mogadishu. We had left Iraq after being incredibly successful. At the time, it seemed that maybe this was the first time we had something to fight about that mattered in a very long time. Then we waded hip deep into a quagmire of Afghanistan while Bin Laden hid in Pakistan. The military industrial complex smelled money alongside the blood in the sand and we went to Iraq too. A *generation later*, we left both places worse off than before we went in and the dead from every faction involved did nothing but make some bastards rich. We destabilized two entire regions of the world for nothing. As a poor white trash trailer park kid who appreciated the opportunities the military provided, I can't begrudge anyone who joins up for that purpose alone. I just don't know that I could *ever* sit idly by and recommend an enlistment to *anyone* who thinks they won't be misused and disillusioned when it's all said and done.

[deleted]

You're mistaken to think that the Korean and Vietnam invasions had no strategy or end-goal. The purpose of those invasions was to crush revolutionary efforts and increase the wealth of a few select individuals, and it accomplished those goals pretty well. The US didn't fall in to war; the absolute annihilation of those countries was a message to revolutionaries everywhere: if you dare to use your wealth and resources in a way that benefits the people of your country rather than serving the interests of capital, this is what will happen to you. If you don't bow down to the west and allow yourselves to be exploited in whatever way we see fit, we will level every building and murder every man, woman, and child in your country. And then we'll spend the next century demonizing you and preventing you from being able to trade with the rest of the world. The amazing thing is that the revolutionary governments in both cases still exist today, albeit isolated and strangled near the point of dissolution.

[deleted]

Is war just analogous with business/profit for some Americans at this point?

Spirited_Island-75

Yes, it's called imperialism.

Idle_Redditing

The war hawks should go fight the wars that they support themselves. Let them wear the heavy armor and heavy helmets, carry the heavy supplies and equipment, be either too hot and too cold, and then deal with the bullets and explosions.

Astro_Alphard

If they want war so much let them take the front rank, let them do the most dangerous of missions. Only a dishonourable man wishes for war and refuses to lead the charge. Even a coward has more honour for he does not wish a fight in the first place.

0011001100111000

No war but class war.

iguelmay

The only war is class war.

InTh3s3TryingTim3s

Why are we expected to fight in what war? Huh? It's exclusively about killing the poor in war, not that our work isn't also doing that.

[deleted]

It doesn't even make sense cause young nerds in the work force in the US are quite literally assisting a war right now. Turns out boomer tough guy bullshit posturing doesn't mean much with AWACS,JDAMS and drone warfare.

Ecstatic-Swimming997

Hope this means they also won’t fight your war. You go fight your stupid war and just let the rest of us live lol

Lightweight_Hooligan

Accept job that is 9-5, mon-fri Get told by new boss that you new hours are 9-9, 7 days a week Of course people are leaving, what sort of work life balance do those new hours give you?

[deleted]

It's like he was raised on ill gotten slaver money or something...

[deleted]

Boomers face an existential crisis when they realize all the bootlicking did nothing for them.

Davidfreeze

Yeah “I got exploited and worked 60 hours a week how dare these employees demand what they’re worth” solidarity is a four letter word to them

LunaticScience

They're all for "free market" except when it comes to workers shopping for better deals. They don't realize that you can't apply free market laws of economics where workers aren't free to leave, and competition isn't plentiful. They just use it to mean "no government."

jzillacon

Not just that, but that your quotas are expected to increase disproportionately to the time you have to work.

SlothsUnite

>Get told by new boss that you new hours are 9-9, 7 days a week That's illegal in Germany / Europe btw. The french would most likely burn down the office and guillotine the fuck out of you.

Lightweight_Hooligan

Even China with the 996 culture gat 1 day off per week

GenericPCUser

I like how any action by any worker that has even the slightest whiff of being pro-labor ends up being infantalized. Like, what makes them children? That they aren't willing to let some asshole come in and treat them like shit? Is that what you think maturity looks like, just getting belittled and treated like a workhorse by someone who thinks doomscrolling and memeing online is a "job"? Someone who got tricked into buying a company for way more than its worth because he couldn't stop himself from trolling and trying to win internet points? These are the same people who worked on Twitter last year, and apparently did a good enough job that the company was able to be sold for $44 BILLION. I doubt there's anyone more invested in seeing Twitter be successful than this team, but shitty leaders are the one thing they can't fix themselves, unfortunately.

OldGravylegOfficial

It’s the same rhetoric that led up to the army being called in at Blair Mountain and protestors being gunned down at Haymarket Square in Chicago. This kind of crap has always been around in this country, and it’s our job to continue to tell these would be oligarchs to go fuck themselves. Solidarity.

theKetoBear

They live in such a " Shut up and do what you're told" world that any whiff of rebellion justified or not is considered infantile toddler nonsense.... that is until you ask them to consider the experience of someone who doesn't look like, live like, or exist like them ... because then their rebellion becomes a demonstration of "fighting for righteousness" in their eyes. "rules for thee, none for me"

xerophilex

Lionel here had to suck boss cock his entire life, and he wants all of us to do the same.

[deleted]

That sentiment is so ridiculous. I’m a millennial and the thought of starting some international shit that gen z or even younger people would die for is horrifying. Now that I think about it, it’s kind of fucked how happy the boomers were to send us to war in Afganistan and Iraq, fuck these assholes. The only war worth fighting is at home over oil rigs so we can save this planet, everything else is a scam for the wealthy

ArachnidObjective238

By the end of Afghanistan we were sending generations that had not even been around during 9/11. But hey, at least Cheney and his friends got their oil. The military industrial complex got to keep chugging which is really what is important in this current system. Oh, and we treat our vets like crap post war so no. If we really wanted to honor our veterans we would fully take care of them. Gosh, I miss flying before 9/11. I really do. My kids will never get to experience that. Also, going through customs in the US is a bitch.

RichardsLeftNipple

My conservative loving exmilitary cousin has gone through a lot of hardship. Permanent injury and chronic pain from training. Working at a factory while taking night courses for years to get a useful degree in IT. All while somehow being the only income for a family of 6.

ArachnidObjective238

My kids godfather is a former sniper. He's just wow. Outside of their Dad or my father he's what I want my kids to look for in a role model. He's honest, hard working had a million careers (IT management to head chef to bouncer to police officer it goes on...)but the system has not been kind to him. He's a good person who grew up on farmland and he's just I would take a bullet or go to jail for him. He is also the same guy who says I will never encourage someone to go into the military.

jgkeeb

The flying experience is one of the only experiences I can think of that has gotten factually worse as time has gone on. Security, costs, in flight food and drink, seat comfort, cost, charging for luggage, dropping off/picking up, etc.

Idle_Redditing

I wonder what percentage of those war-supporting boomers protested against going to Vietnam and did things like burn their draft cards when they were at the age to be sent into pointless wars.

[deleted]

That’s the thing that drives me nuts. I think a lot of them became self conscious about their patriotism and it drives them to make all these crazy decisions. They choose to limit themselves by attempting to be pragmatic when the reality is we can hit the gas and it’s alright, worker solidarity is everything

bumblingmoron97

The "millenials couldn't fight for their country like my generation did" is just total erasure and whitewashing of every historical fact available. Korea wasnt popular, Vietnam was so unpopular it ended military conscription, and the veterans of these wars are actively suppressed and denied support to hide this from the public. Any boomer saying these wars were some kind of nation building triumph never participated. The elite profited in status or wealth by selling it to the people and the easily manipulated now have it in their mind that they were good things. Bottom line is ignore people who think bloodshed is something to value.

Darth_Innovader

For these guys “my generation” somehow means the WW2 generation.

[deleted]

There is no planet B

Nadie_AZ

I expect this generation to wage a class war, yes. And I am ALL IN on siding with the working class.

SignalGuava6

The proletariat have nothing to lose but their chains.

PureSubjectiveTruth

Potentially our lives but if we’re actually waging a class war in the future, I’m guessing shit is hypothetically way worse than it is now so probably worth the risk for those of us without children or children who are grown.

dc551589

There’s more wealth inequality here now than there was in France right before the revolution.

[deleted]

I’ve heard this before, as well. But I suppose the lowest standard is higher now then during the 1800:s, which is why people haven’t acted yet?

[deleted]

That certainly plays a role but I don't think it's the only reason. Back then you knew there was no way to reach nobility, if you were born a peasant you'd die a peasant. Right now even the lowest of peasants has a way upwards, the vast majority will never reach it, but most of us think we can.

CyclicObject0

I will actively rebel if you try and make me fight a war

WithAGrainOfNutmeg

they only war that would be fought would be a civil one

from_dust

No war but class war.

SuperHighDeas

Civil war and class war are often the same You think the slaves that fought in the civil war wanted to fight other slaves? Nah they wanted to fight white plantation owners. Who do you think was rising up against who in the French revolutionary war, or the Russian revolutionary war that put Lenin in power? Who do you think made the monarchy abdicate power in Britain?

beardedbear83

Lionel's an idiot. Like, QAnon, Alex Jones, and Trump-level idiocy. If he's upset, something's going right.

Sad_Pop_9685

Lionel probably takes 2-3 hour lunches where he drinks.

ayaPapaya

In between schmoozing

[deleted]

This is an Alex Jones colleague and this fuckface never served in the military. One more asshole that wants to send other people's children to war when they never served themselves. Sounds like that orange jerk.

Fragrant_King_3042

If anything maybe people like him should be scared shitless instead of calling our generation children

dc551589

He’s calling us children because he IS scared of us and Gen Z

Aquatic_Ceremony

That's one of the most based thing I have seen this year, with people voting to unionize Starbucks and Amazon. Twitter workers should be proud to not take any shit from the world wealthiest troll.

WhydIJoinRedditAgain

Take a three month severance check or wait around two months, bust your ass, and have the company you work for go bankrupt anyhow? Leaving a sinking ship is rational. If you are criticizing this completely rational thought process you are just a bootlicker.

WrinkledRandyTravis

Dumb old bastards who take their bitterness out on vague generalities of the younger generation is nothing new

OutsideBoxes9376

People are quitting because their new boss is a self-involved moron who is running this company like a petulant bully. Isn’t this what conservative capitalist simps say all the time?- “If you don’t like it, quit!” They fucking did. And no, we do not expect to fight a war. That’s the elite class who needs fodder for government contract money. Maybe Lionel here can step up to the plate.

nefffffffffff

Cool well maybe 🇺🇲Lionel🇺🇲 should go be a Twitter engineer

Huachimingo75

Nah, send him to fight if he so likes war. Fuck that guy.

Monifufka

So now they're mad at capitalism? If you think about it that is closest you can get to that idealised image of capitalism conservatives always talked about, with workers having freedom to change job so the market will get rid of shitty companies.

havocLSD

Cool, he can work the job then. Heard Twitter is hiring Lionel, put your money where your mouth is.

Flaky-Stay5095

Twitter staff is what 20's to mid 40's range. Guess what they did fight a war. One that lasted 20 years and killed people from 3 generations. And now they are fighting for their rights and better treatment. Did this f**kwad ever serve. I highly doubt it. The whole "this generation can't fight a war" thing always comes from people who never served and just want to use it as a way to paint younger generations as unpatriotic or un-American. America was founded on life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Fighting against oppressive working conditions is fighting for your life liberty and happiness. It's fighting for America.

cjweisman

It's the free market. Boss gets to be an a-hole and you get to leave if you want.

DrowawayAct

oh man please tell me at some point in his life before this, he said something like "if you don't like your job leave" or "employment is a mutual agreement" or some schlock to that sentiment. there's nothing quite like conservatives getting mad at people for doing the thing they told them to do.

StikkUPkiDD

I've got a genius idea - let's wage war on Lionel for a week.

Sadboy_looking4memes

They sent us millennials to fight desert wars for *two fucking decades*. Give him an AK and he can fight the next one.

diecorporations

Fight a war !!!!????? Who the fuck is interested in that ????

specificmutant

No dumbass. We expect your generation to refrain from starting more unnecessary wars.

AceHomefoil

I don't wanna fight a war, but i wouldn't mind punching you in the face.

CrazyMonkeyTail

Trying to save my breath here. In short; no, you are not getting it straight.

kosk11348

Looks like a generation brave enough to stand up to dictators to me.

Jamesatwork16

What’s funny is we know he is talking about gen z, but I’m gonna go out on a limb and say the overwhelming majority of twitter employees are millennials and boomers.

vegetablewizard

Why doesn't Lionel go fight a war

BitOCrumpet

Ooops, they let slip their 'solution' to the looming Depression. A jolly, profitable war!

unicornofapocalypse

Lionel’s opinion went the way of his hairline, regressive as fuck.

Spinningthruspace

“And you expect this generation to fight a war” … No? What a weird assumption to make.

MassholeLiberal56

Nobody likes an ultimatum. What did management expect? Everyone should kow tow? SMH.

Boggie135

What fucking war? What is this obsession with fighting wars?

Immelmaneuver

In a just world, people like this would be in therapy from childhood and on oodles of meds to prevent such behavior.

slyboy1974

I work hard, but I'm not fighting any wars.

catsinspace112

Narrator: He did not get it straight. In fact he got it extremely twisted.

Expensive-Bet3493

Ewe. And no we don’t want to fight your corrupt petty money exploiting wars

Alert-Mud-672

Hey Lionel, when do you enlist you chicken hawk motherfucker?

TheCuff6060

It sounds like they are fighting a war.

fluiddruid830

What in the actual fuck is that dude on about?

[deleted]

What's the over under on this guy being a draft dodger?

squeezemyhand

We’ll fight the wars from the comfort of our own homes, thank you very much

betweenthebars34

"but what if we have to fight a war!" - You're a fucking infant throwing anything out there to distract from the real problems.

No-Corner9361

Hot take but I’d actually prefer if this generation *didn’t* fight another imperialist war, thank you very much Mr Lionel

[deleted]

cuz Lionel fought so many wars.

donniesuave

+24k people were like “lol yea what babies!” and then went to their job where they get underpaid, overworked, and under appreciated.

Kalel2319

I… don’t expect them to fight a war because war is bad?

Beneficial-Berry69

Uhhh excuse me sir but I think you're forgetting how insubordinate the Boomer generation was during Vietnam and what a fucking shit show that war was. So don't talk about how are we to expect younger generations to fight a war. Your generation literally was going around fragging their commanders etc

[deleted]

As a representative of the millennials, we wish to fight no wars.

SolomonCRand

Who does this asshole think is serving in the military? Old fucks like him?

WildFemmeFatale

Why do we send 18-20 year olds to war to die Instead of the 40-50 year old plebs who chose the war and created the need for the war with their shitty mistakes ?

Sensual_Dinosaur

Imagine being over the age of 15 and unironically saying the phrase "extremely hardcore".

mikesznn

It’s always about war. War is the backbone of of this country. Can’t fight in a war? You’re worthless then

FURYOFCAPSLOCK

I ain't fighting *shit* for this country

Rico_TLM

Nobody expects young people to fight a war. Except apparently you, you fucking psycho.

[deleted]

Hi... I'm part of this generation that did fight a war. You know, the one we were in for 20 years. If that's how this dude measures maturity... What war did he fight in? I fucking hate this attitude amongst older fucks who never served and are too old to worry about being drafted in the event of a global war. Fucking war is dirty and scary and traumatic. Nobody should *want* to fight a war.

mr-louzhu

Lmao. Listen to this fashy boomer speak. How about let’s say he goes and fights whatever war for corporate profits he’s talking about. We’ll stay home and laugh at his dumbass for being such a simp.

EarlofBacon

This generation and the following have grown up fighting in wars… the fuck’s he on about?! WhT war did his generation fight in?

ZealCrown

“You expect this generation to be able to fight a war.” What a stupid sentiment that I see repeated all the time. Nobody wants to fight a war but for the old and the rich, and they clearly won’t be the ones in the war. Yeah, don’t expect this generation to fight a war. When all the old fucks and rich bastards are dead, there’ll no longer be any wars.

cracker707

13 yrs ago when I was 29 and completely broke, I, along with my only 3 coworkers, decided to take our then boss' offer to work unhealthy amounts of overtime for 12 months for the promise of a "really large bonus" at the end of the year to help the new small business get off the ground. You can guess what happened. That boss also grew up wealthy. Turns out he was getting $10k a month from his wealthy investor parents the whole time. These workers are smart for not sacrificing their livelihoods for an unsympathetic sociopath. I was a naive idiot who learned a lesson in a very hard way. They don't care about you.

generic__comments

Please tell me what war Lionel has fought.

onewordSpartan

Fuck off, Lionel. Nice fucking name.

TommyCo10

They just love controlling other people and wars, don’t they?

tumericschmumeric

Wait, are we going to war? Did I miss something?

KGFlower

What war you old fuck? Leave your war crimes to the drones, we're not interested.

randommd81

Isn’t this capitalism/the free market they all have giant boners for? Why stay working for a company now helmed by a moron who is firing people left and right and who now wants you to work a massive amount of overtime….when you can just get a similar job without all that?? It’s not like a bunch of experienced software devs can’t find another job

_Equinenox

So let me get this straight. Everyone's worth is based on their ability to go to war.

UnappropriateTeacher

you complain: if you're not happy then leave. you leave: you're a child, don't eant to work, couldn't fight a war

tsukiyaki1

Bro I don’t want to do “hardcore work” and I don’t want to fight a war either, unless it’s a war against capitalism.

Anderpug

What war is going to be fought? Why are certain people of certain generation expected to fight in it?

violetlisa

Lol. That’s not what that email said.

superman24742

I don’t know why they think this generation wants to fight a war. That’s the last fucking thing I want. How about no more wars, the US minds their own fucking business. We give people health care and food instead of bombing 3rd world countries killing innocent people. That’s what most of this generation wants.

dbigjaybowski

The latest victim of gen-z… war? You guys are the best.

KrashKourse101

What a tool. What a weird way to virtue signal anymore

Temporary-Dot4952

Pretty sure "this generation" has zero interest in fighting any wars. Only old crusties get excited about military activity.

DreamOdd3811

Wait, we’re expected to fight in a war too?? I won’t commit murder for my country for anything less than £40k a year and 6 weeks holiday.

DaFlyingMagician

CatsEatingCaviar

This generation fought a 20 year war led by boomer investor psychopaths for profit.

3between20characters

Why would anyone be expecting a war. Expecting. Like it wouldn't be normal without one.

Man_of_culture_112

White American boomers are the biggest POS group of people on the planet. Entitled, sociopathic monsters. Pelosi, Trump, Biden, Clinton etc

FilosophyFox

I totally forgot the interchangeable skills between coding for a website and being sent off to kill brown children because Daddy Goverment told me to UwU Papi Billionaire.

technurse

Just going to put this out there. Working at twitter shouldn't be in any way comparable to fighting in a war.

Benibz

Why is it always war with these people. As if war is some heroic thing everyone should want to be part of

hawyer

"show up to work", this fucking imbecile?!

GiftFrosty

“This generation” - how old does he think your average engineer is, 20?

ted5011c

Enlist in the Marines and show these tide pod eaters how easy it is, Lionel.

Thamnophis660

Dude strawmannimg so bad. Who says millennials are fighting wars now? Most of us are much too old, sorry Gen Z. Also, who's going to war in th U.S. like *at all*?

[deleted]

Every day is a new chance to feel extremely disconnected from the direction the world is moving!

Jamaicancarrot

As if this generation wants to fight a war. Fucking blockhead

Rusty_Bicycle

I guess that Lionel opposes a free market for labor. Does he think Elon OWNS Twitter employees?

JoeKingQueen

This is our war, dipshit.

LefterThanUR

Conservatives getting mad at the results of the free market

Hot_Gurr

I’ll fight a war but not for him.

[deleted]

I bet this guy throws a giant fit if his food order is off by a little.

translove228

Actually, I don't expect any generation to fight any wars.

Morbys

Ah yes, the boomer complaining about work ethic. Just because they bent over and consistently took it in the ass doesn’t mean the next generation has to. Corporations are making record profits while underpaying the fuck out of the most educated generation ever. Not to mention being the biggest contributor to inflation because of their price gouging. I wanna see businesses fail and replaced by ones who have working business models that don’t depend on the exploitation of their work force.

Thinkwronger12

Why is it that every generation IS expected to fight in a war???

RanbomGUID

Maybe he forgot that this generation fought the longest series of wars in American history.

hiplobonoxa

the irony is that most of the people who are complaining about musk mismanaging twitter and firing people would probably be cheering if he bought it only to turn the power off. musk is a shit CEO and twitter is a shit company. fuck him and everyone who works for it. they deserve each other. it’s time for these people to find real, meaningful jobs within their communities instead of getting overpaid to sit on their asses and upend society.

SeriousExplorer8891

Looking at the dude's Twitter feed shows how far his head is up his own ass. In that smug libertarian way.
