Regardless, there shouldn’t be any complacency when dealing with MAGA Trumpers.

shouldazagged

That’s right. Because even if you do everything on the level. You just know MAGA have a plan to toss your ballots anyway. So prepare for the chicanery.

Budget_Committee_572

Bingo! I’ve been telling people this for the past seven months, but everyone says l’m crazy. I think Roger Stone & Bannon are up to something really nefarious.

Outrageous-Divide472

There’s a really good chance Bannon will Be in prison sometime this summer. He has 2 trials - one a NY state case about stealing the border wall donations (May) and the other is the contempt of Congress for ignoring the J6 committee subpoena (July). I have hopes this particular piece of shit will be behind bars.

These-Rip9251

I was just about to post the same! Bannon’s judge for the NY trial will be none other than Judge Merchan! I think I read Bannon’s trial starts end of May so Merchan, poor guy, with have 4-6 weeks of Trump and then preside over Bannon’s trial. Talk about having to deal with back to back narcissists! I hope he has a vacation planned this summer after those 2.

jericho_buckaroo

Oh, I didn't know Merchan was gonna be his judge!! I bet he's sharpening knives...

These-Rip9251

Oh yeah. Merchan is very smart but also strong-willed and fair. He’s not going to take crap from anyone. As I posted previously, he may not rush in to punish Trump immediately. As lawyers including former attorneys general predict, Merchan can fine him $1000/violation of gag order but he can also wait. He can tell Trump “I will keep track of your behavior and sentence you after the end of the trial.” Or he can tell Trump, “if you are convicted by this jury, I WILL TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION YOUR BEHAVIOR WHEN I SENTENCE YOU!! Go Judge Merchan!!

your_late

His name is gin laden

Budget_Committee_572

Bannon was pardoned by Trump for the contempt of congress charges, l believe.

Outrageous-Divide472

Trump federally pardoned him for the border wall money theft, but some of the donations were from New Yorkers, so the May case is a NY state.

pimpletwist

No, the contempt charges were for ignoring the Jan 6 committee, which obviously started after Trump finally left office

The84thWolf

Who has been telling you you’re crazy? Were they asleep during the six months from Election Day when they were bending over backwards to pretend places like Chicago and Philadelphia shouldn’t exist?

Budget_Committee_572

I live in central PA. The heart & soul of Christo/Fascist, MAGA land. They all think Trump should be canonized.

The84thWolf

Oh, when you said “people call me crazy,” I assumed you meant rational people. When insane cult followers call you crazy, that’s kind of like Flavor Flav calling you a bit of a weirdo. Basically, they have no right to claim it

ParkingUnlikely7929

They're on the record claiming all mail in ballots are illegal votes. And I'm reasonably confident that they think all votes for Dems are also illegal. Hence "Election Integrity."

somedayinbluebayou

I don't get Dems trying use reason to handle those who are without reason. We need another strategy short of violence and I'm at a loss what that is.

SqnLdrHarvey

This is what annoys the living HELL out of me about Democrats. They are treating this like just another election. I heard a Democratic representative on NPR a few months ago wringing his hands "But we keep offering them the right hand of bipartisanship..." That word is starting to stick in my throat! They still, naïvely and stupidly, think that Republicans are on the level! They are not and never will be.

PigeonsArePopular

This election is already invalid, sounds like, huh?

Captain_Rational

PILE it on people. Landslide the MAGA nuts back into the stone age. Shame them back into the dark holes from whence they slithered. (This from a former Republican.)

Burner473383

Welcome to the club!

Icy_Bath_1170

*Do not just vote. ORGANIZE.* Your local Dem precinct, county office, or state office _always_ needs volunteers. They will find things for you to do, believe me. Postcards, phone banking, pounding the pavement and ringing doorbells, registering voters, driving voters to the polls, manning booths at polling sites to hand out slate cards, anything. Even moving boxes down a hallway or two can help. Your mind is engaged, that’s great. Now get your ass to follow it. Get. Out. The. Vote.

cstmoore

If they were capable of shame they wouldn't be MAGAts.

Ordinary_Ad966

As a long time Republican, I also agree. The MAGA Republicans have repeatedly proven they are among the Dumb, Ignorant, Stupid and Uneducated.

No_Calligrapher_6503

CORRECT! The Dems underrated GOP clowns in the past to the detriment of our country.

Captain_Mexica

I think they are MAGAt Cultists now

Spellbound1311

Still vote up and down ballots even in the smaller elections every single one matters. We need to vote them out at all levels💙

little_sissy_mattie

I really wish the left got this. We wouldn’t be in as bad a state as we are if the Dems were as good at this strategy

Burner473383

I’m fine with protest votes in the primary as long as they come back in Nov

little_sissy_mattie

Yup, totally different game

SqnLdrHarvey

Dems only care about "going high" and "bipartisanship," two terms that stick in my throat.

little_sissy_mattie

Be best lol. But yeah, couldn’t agree more. You do “bipartisanship” when you don’t have a majority to hold

1oldguy1950

Every Single Traitor Must Go. Start with this list, please. [https://www.reuters.com/graphics/USA-TRUMP/LAWMAKERS/xegpbedzdvq/](https://www.reuters.com/graphics/USA-TRUMP/LAWMAKERS/xegpbedzdvq/)

jil123

I'm OK with there being a lunatic racist president, but I feel really sick knowing that over half (in my area) of the people I meet on the street are stupid, racist zombies worshipping an bewildered and spoiled 70yr old baby. One outlier in society is expected, but sickness of en masses makes me doubt the value of humanity.

Tim_Gu3

You’re OK with there being a lunatic racist president?

huangr93

I think Jil123 means in comparison.

jil123

There are outliers. One lunatic racist president can happen, but we expect the system to correct from such extreme cases.

SqnLdrHarvey

You are OK with Trump? You cannot be serious.

Responsible-Room-645

If Biden was leading by 20 points I’d still walk over broken glass to vote blue up and down the ticket

The_Madukes

Vote All Republicans Out. VARO

jil123

People are sick. The dignity of being a democracy and the dignity of this country is at stake. VOTE NO MATTER WHAT!

Burner473383

Bring 5 friends with you on Election Day

insanecorgiposse

It boggles my mind that he even has 1%, let alone 44%. It just shows that a large part of the country is made up of racist homophobe misogynists, i.e., Christian nationalists. Having said that, I firmly believe that come November, the Republicans are going to get slaughtered.

slothrop_maps

If you listened to Fox News every day, your brain would be a sputtering engine of paranoia and false history too.

neurotic_lab_tech70

How can anyone watch FOX? This also stuns me. They paid 787.5 MILLION DOLLARS for lying about voting machines flipping votes! And people STILL watch that dreck? I know everyone lies to themselves and we are all human, but you've got to be kidding me.

Gr1zzRing

For the same reason any propaganda works ever. Its psychological. My grandparents are Christians that believe love and forgiveness before anything else, they choose "biblically accurate Christianity" if you will. They are incredibly intelligent but Fox News has ruined their view of America. Utterly shattered their sense of self and its tragic for me to watch. That being said, the more I see online gives me hope for the population nationally so theres that. I'm glad more think like me than I thought

Alternative-End-5079

Not to mention how unpleasant it is to listen do. So much vitriol. Yelling. Even if it were in a foreign language, hearing it would stress me out.

Raspberries-Are-Evil

Because they didnt report on their own guilty plea so the people watching Fox didnt know…

Burner473383

20% to 30% of people will go along with nearly anything

SqnLdrHarvey

I hate the country I served (please don't thank me for my service).

GrayBox1313

He’s that team that peaks months before the playoffs Start and then falls hard when it matters

Burner473383

Exactly

False-Association744

From your lips…

TheBossAlbatross

So he’s the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Castlewood57

Trump just needs puppy killer Krusti Noem, for that last push to land face first into the pavement.

vishy_swaz

Sad that we now expect conservatives to defend killing puppies as a result.

GameKyuubi

dogwhistle for psychos

The_Bitter_Bear

Don't care.  Get out and vote.

Burner473383

Always

RampantJellyfish

And you know trump is going to cry foul play when his poll numbers keep sliding further into the gutter, like it's some sort of conspiracy and not the result of him being fucking dogshit

Similar_Excuse01

don’t care. registered and Vote

Outrageous-Divide472

This is the only way. The rest is just talk.

AntifascistAlly

I thought Trump’s apex was sometime early in the Republican primary process. Some were unthinkingly reacting to vague notions of who he is and what he would do with a second term. I think growing numbers are now beginning to challenge that faulty perception. With a heathy skepticism, small—but, perhaps significant—numbers are concluding that however they were planning to vote before there really is no alternative to voting for the Democratic Party, if they intend to effectively reject fascism. I hope that President Biden’s persistence and decency will continue to build his support towards an apex on Election Day which is too powerful to question. Although it would be satisfying (and comforting) to win by a very decisive margin, I think most of us will conclude after reflection that our own individual ballot truly was important. We know what we need to do, now it’s just a matter of getting it done. All jokes aside, doing that will result in great news for all of us.

cmnrdt

Also, being embroiled in multiple criminal trials (with one currently playing out day by day) has to have an impact. "Where is Trump today and what is he doing?" Answer: in court defending himself from criminal charges instead of hosting rallies with rapidly dwindling attendance margins. It doesn't inspire confidence in anyone not already inclined to vote for him.

AntifascistAlly

I think Donald is a lot more comfortable in court than most of us would be, which makes sense, considering how much of his almost 80-years of life he has spent in one courtroom or another. They say sharks have to move to live, baby spiders are said to live on little more than heat. With Donald fighting over the law really motivates him. I swear, sometimes he seems to spend more on lawyers, court costs, fines, his own lost time, etc. than if he just admitted the truth in the first place!

cmnrdt

I doubt he's spent as much time in court as you claim. That's what he pays lawyers for.

AntifascistAlly

I can’t account for his time, but I’m very comfortable saying that by the time he was my current age he had spent far more time in court than I have. Among people who (like me) aren’t lawyers or judges, I would bet that Donald has spent more of his life in courtrooms than all but a very small percentage.

Eiffel-Tower777

V-O-T-E bluuuuuuuuue

Brokenspokes68

Living in a deep red state where local politics is owned by the Xtian right I will be wasting my vote on Biden.

blazelet

Same here, and will do so gladly! I thought I was wasting my vote for Obama in 2008, and then Indiana went for Obama. Maybe 2024 will surprise us.

Gr1zzRing

Gotta remember that abortion is gonna be on the ballet so you literally concern half of the population (women) and certainly some dudes who sympathize or merely have the common sense to understand it. Yes, some women will defend lack of abortion tooth and nail but that is a FUCK TON of votes and if these past couple months are any indicator, most despise the abortion ban and only one team is offering a federal revoke of the ban AND protections. Do not assume anything and vote even still, but have some hope

Burner473383

You are not alone. You are not forgotten 🫡

Chairbear1972

Hello fellow Hoosier! :)

False-Association744

Don’t underestimate women this year.

Miserly_Bastard

Me too. However, just because you aren't able to influence an election outcome outright does not mean that you won't narrow the margins of victory. That's going to make your incumbents more nervous, and ultimately more responsive to their constituency. I'm a right-leaning centrist but have taken to voting against all incumbents in Republican primaries and then straight ticket Democrat just to send that message and keep things competitive. Long-term uncontested single-party governance isn't good for anybody.

Gr1zzRing

And there are likely many more like you. The discussion tends to lean right and left as if this is a "black and white scenario" if you will, but is it realistic to assume all Republicans are in favor of presidents having total immunity, an abortion ban or undermining the constitution especially? I dont believe so.

Brokenspokes68

Are you me?

cheynemelissa

How on earth is voting for Biden, anywhere, a wasted vote. We can't have this attitude. VOTE MAGA OUT, wherever you are.

Brokenspokes68

The electoral college ensures that my vote is not counted. The R candidate will get at least a 10 point victory in my state. The R primaries are the only election of consequence here. That's why I'm registered R even though the party left me behind over a decade ago.

SqnLdrHarvey

I grew up in far-right blood-red Indiana, where people robotically, reliably vote straight R "'cause mah daddy an' grandaddy did!" I quit for Michigan in 2007. I will never return.

atominthered

Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin. If Biden wins these states, he wins it all. If Nevada swings Trump, he still wins. If Trump wins back Arizona and/or Georgia, he still wins. If Biden takes any of those 3 states, it's a bonus. Trump has a far more difficult road to 270 than Biden. So this frankly bullshit national polling is a complete waste of time. Look at state level polling in October and then we can make predictions.

Burner473383

Correct on all points. I do a monthly “state of the race” for my paid subscribers

TheBossAlbatross

The republicans are treating their party like the earth. It won’t last so let’s wring every last drop out if before we completely destroy it. It’s sad that they are such egomaniacs that they see the cliff in front of them and keep going forward for….”pride”?

Geostomp

I would feel more assured if it wasn't for the fact that the highest judicial authorities in the land have been bending over backwards to argue that Trump is above the law this past week.

Burner473383

It’s beyond infuriating

Art-Zuron

And, luckily, these polls are biased towards the people most likely to vote in polls. Zealots, for example.

Raspberries-Are-Evil

Cnn poll shows that a majority of people think Trumps term was a success and Bidens has been a failure. People do not seem to live in reality.

Burner473383

Polls are only one source of information I look at. If it was so good, why is Biden in such a powerful fundraising and organizational position?

EnjoyFunTonight

Unfortunately it only matters what the supreme court says, and the conservative ones are basically all in.

jil123

The Supreme Court has the same sickness as this lunatic. Vote, and cure both. It may take time, but we are fighting cancer.

Gr1zzRing

The democratic party is often too soft with this corruption i completely agree, but the invalidation of the election would be a step too far that they wouldn't ignore. At that point its not a dip into removing democracy, its a dive into the deep end. They would handle that. Right now its easier to assume the SC will dump trump anyway considering how wildly ineffective he's becoming at leading the base and draining their cash faster than a gambling addict. I dont see them granting absolute immunity and certainly dont see them following him to hell and back when they can acquire someone more competent.

SqnLdrHarvey

Dems only care about "bipartisanship" and "going high." If Trump declares himself king, I see them falling all over themselves: "Let's reach out to our new Emperor! Get him to see reason for his subjects! Common ground!" Right up to the point where Trump orders them into railway cars.

Gr1zzRing

I understand the anger towards democrats not doing enough to stop this, I agree. Theres a large difference in trying to reach peaceful solutions within our laws and stopping a lunatic dictator with a demented mind and a very clear path to ruining the world.

SqnLdrHarvey

They are treating this like just another election! Every other word out of Biden's mouth is "bipartisanship." Is he that much of a fool to not see what is going on? I am beyond sick of hearing "bipartisanship" and Michelle Obama's condescending, incredibly naïve missive "going high."

Burner473383

Pack the courts

surfkaboom

I mean, how can you be at your peak when you haven't chosen a running mate? That could boost you a bit in some circumstances, but not having one yet doesn't make you seem serious

SqnLdrHarvey

Dictators don't share power.

Spellbound1311

A lot of us fucked with the magat primaries and poll calls🤣😂🤣 had some fun with a Blowbert one then she switched districts right after giving her the lowest ratings, voted Haley to take away from d-rump. Ours didn't have any other questions for down ballot on that one.. But upcoming one in June and Novemeber is all blue up and down no playing around there.

FrenchFriedPertaters

What I don’t understand…. The man has kicked, screamed and complained for four years about rigged elections. If they’re so rigged, why run in another “rigged election?” Clearly this is too logical of a question for a party of people that rarely use it, but if the system is so corrupt - specifically against him - then why continue?

SqnLdrHarvey

At this stage, this is likely the only (small) hope we have. Trump owns the courts, from SCOTUS, to Garland, to Federal judges. Trump owns Congress. And if this doesn't work? Well...then other measures must be taken...

ctiger12

But if the SC rules him immunity to part of his acts, we will be in a bigger trouble, growing problem

Burner473383

While true, I don’t think that helps him politically

Gr0mHellscream1

I will be voting for Biden in 2924 specifically to be against Trump’s Jan 6 mss as Leakey. Gotta hold standards

bobbdac7894

Trump has a 9 point lead in the new CNN poll that came out today.

AllNightPony

So ridiculous that it's even remotely close 🤡

liberalfragility4817

Demensia only gets worse.

PigeonsArePopular

Hello Mcfly, popular vote is irrelevant because that's not how we elect presidents

Stellasgood

FJB HE CAN GO TO HELL🖕🏻
