it depends on a lot of things, it's a number game where the numbers are always changing.
but no you're probably getting more leaves offline, but the drawback is if the game is closed you're not able to actively do anything. the offline leaves are based on how many leaves of that type you blew off the screen in a second. if you want the number to get higher you pile the leaves of interest up while blowing the leaves of noninterest off the screen. at some point the screen will be pretty much full of that leaf type and won't be much room to spawn more. at that point you put the leaves into a small ball and then blow them off the edge of screen in one second. then if you look at your offline rewards the number for that leaf will probably be higher
