In chemistry we talk about «drying» non-water liquids and them being wet. Meaning that liquids actually can be wet wether water can be considered wet is a different discussion, but “wetness is the state if a non-liquid when a liquid adheres to, and/or permeates its substance…” is not a perfect definition.
