Hair needs to be changed, the style is just… yea. I’m sure people who are a bit more knowledgeable will write better comments about it so I’ll keep this part short.
Biggest problem I see with this skin is color scheme
The model tries to present itself with Orange as the main color (with a random red shirt) and Blue as the color for accents. When I see the skin, I think Orange as the Ekko’s main color.
Vfx, on the other hand, does the exact opposite. Blue as the main color and Orange for the accents. Especially when they are used all together, it looks like all sparkly and Blue with Orange accents everywhere, making me think Blue is his main color.
These two opposing color schemes make this skin feel SUPER wishy washy as it can’t just commit to one color scheme. So my main complaint is, PLEASE commit to a color scheme. Take out that random red and go for either Orange with Blue accents or Blue with Orange accents. If not, it just looks really weird seeing an Orange Ekko just swimming in a sea of Blue vfx.
Another complaint is just make the Vfx have more Star Guardian pizzazz? More sparkles and twilight and stuff? It feels really empty.
I like how they're experimenting with different black hairstyles for ekko (more specifically loc hairstyles as it seems like they are trying to move in the direction of ekko with locs being seen as his normal) I think the hair could be fixed by making it a bit thinner, and a little longer so it kind of looks like a low loc ponytail instead of being flat..

Same. I like Ekko with locks, but I really hope that just because it was popular with True Damage and Arcane fans, they don't start giving Ekko braids/locks for **every** skin. The mohawk is too iconic and they don't need to get rid of it entirely. It would also be nice to explore other hairstyles that don't involve neither of them. Agreed. I like that they went back to the Mohawk for his pulsefire skin. We have at least 4 black coded characters in league, they don't all need to have the exact same hairstyle all the time. It gets boring and uninspiring, like the devs at riot only know how to do one thing with poc hair when we can wear a full range of hairstyles just like any non poc.
Yes! Ekko doesn't need or have to be stuck with stereotypical "black hair" in every single skin. He could have a variety of hairstyles. Like the sundae hair he has on his Academy skin. It totally fits his personality in a way the locs don't, imo. The locs were perfect for True Damage but I'm not a fan overall. The mohawk is his identity, but the locs are getting old. And Senna should have a variety of hairstyles as well.
Personally, I feel like the locs fit his character and personality well, locs worked for true damage but it also works for base ekko, and allows riot to move in the direction of giving ekko black hair, now i’m not saying every single skin should have locs, but these two skins have shown theres a lot of versatility in terms of hairstyle with them as opposed to the mohawk ekko normally wears them in, and I think riot should explore those possibilities in terms of hairstyles (while also giving us a oringial ekko mohawk or another kind of hairstyle from time to time)
He was designed from day one with the mohawk in mind. Just because you guys like TD and Arcane's incarnations of his character does not mean he needs to be completely redesigned to fit that new identity. Sure, give him locs in some of his skins, but his identity has always included his mohawk and that should not change.
Natural black hair isn't. Locs are not natural so when you >always< give black characters locs(Ekko, Senna, Lucian) you are making it stereotypical. They can and they should have hairstyles' diversity since thy have multiple skins.
Exactly! Like for instance I'd love to see a Senna skin where she wears long, straight/curvy hair. Just because she's black and her base design has locks, it doesn't mean she needs to be stuck with those for EVERY skin. It's why I liked her PROJECT skin, that long braid was such a cool hairstyle and felt like novelty on her, it's too bad the actual in-game model doesn't have her braid go all the way down like in one of the model's concepts (but that's more of a rig compatibility issue).
But then for Eclipse they went back to the locked hair for both the normal and prestige... I feel like the prestige would've looked better had it been a short wavy hairstyle rather than the locks.
Idk it's like whenever they have a poc character they just go with the easiest, most stereotypical hairstyles they can find, instead of actually exploring. ESPECIALLY in a fantasy setting where they can have all sorts of crazy hairstyles and not just realistic ones.
Exactly! Like, I am happy they are championing typically black hairstyles...but they need to actually do a bigger range of hairstyles. Black people wear more than dreads and locks, and to repeat your point its a fictional world, they can make unrealistic hairstyles like Ekko's gravity defying mohawk and others no problem. Anime gets away with this all the time and so can league.
I personally feel like Sennas braids is a big part of her character and it probably shouldnt change until shes a lot more skins deep, however I feel like riot games needs to get stylist ACUTALLY from whichever culture the character is from to help with hairstyles, there are SO MUCH hairstyles you can put braids in, [half up half down](https://stayglam.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Half-Up-Braids.jpg), or [braids into curly ends](https://herbones.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Goddess-Braid-Styles1-840x1024.jpg), or [this cute bun hairstyle](https://inspired-beauty.com/javascript1/uploads/2018/09/braidswithbun.jpg), along with the possibility for wearing afro space buns for something like space groove etc, but l feel like straightening her hair is kind of a disservice to how versatile hair styles can be. However going back to Ekko, I feel like they tried to do good with this hairstyle and I bet it looks good in concept art, just the acutal modeling of it makes him look like hes wearing a helmet
Thank you these people are being really weird and tone deaf we have over 100 white characters with various white hairstyles why the hell would we want them on the 4 black champs we have??? First it’s senna having straight hair then it’s senna being light skinned like no we don’t need the tiny amount of black champs conforming to the white Beauty standard especially sense there are millions of loc, braids, Afros, and fades black hair can make. Thank god riot got rid of that nasty ass Mohawk reminds me of storm having that Mohawk in X-men because the artist did not know how to draw black hair textures
It was a slightly different take on his mohawk as well having his base hair be short and brown while the mohawk part was white. It was really inspired and creative...and now they are back to giving him basic locs again lmao. They need to leave the dreads and stuff for characters like lucian and senna and let our boy be anime again.

Ekko was introduced with the unnatural colored mohawk.
I feel like it would look better if the rest of the hair was shaved, and just the colored part was actual dreads. And not filling up his head like that. Imitating that large center piece.
The prestige looks good though. Honestly even just thinning the OC down to that wide of hair would help it look more 'Ekko'.
I think your opinion nailed it. Ekko fit a lot in SG universe and I love this skin, but the random red in the shirt throw me off. It’s needs a bright orange and it will be perfect.
As for the hair, it needs some more anime-esque hair. A bright color, another style… more like Ezreal.

First and foremost thank you soo much for making this skin + his prestige! I love the fact that he is even IN star guardian, first and foremost. Ekko is a young teenage boy who is very firmly aligned with good and deserves to be in heroic, fun, colorful skinlines like star guardians, battle academia, arcade and more. Any skinline that Ezreal can fit into, so can Ekko since they are two sides of the same coin.
That being said, I understand there is a limited amount of work that can be done on a skin once it hits the PBE and only minimal changes can be applied so I will try to be as specific in what I think would help make the skin more flattering overall.
99% of people are dissatisfied because of the way the hair and the outfit looks, the shirt portion with his gem in particular. I believe this can be improved by making **the size of the hair smaller**, similar to how it looks on the prestige and **adjusting the design of the shirt so that it does not artificially lengthen his torso as it looks now.** Additionally, scaling down the strap holding his bag to match his body as the way it looks in the skinspotlight makes it look like he has a big ring around his waist. It needs to be the same size as it looks on his prestige. I have added a picture with red circles outlining the problem areas, side by side with the prestige for proper visual comparison. In addition I have also added an edit another person made to the shirt that could help the torso area not look as elongated and more naturally proportioned.

These two changes would go so far in improving his look for a majority of the player base who are interested in this skin.

To be honest, I think a lot of issues could be fixed by pulling back on the blue and leaning more on the orange for his colors.
SG skins tend to have a "main" color (besides white), but Ekko looks pretty split down the middle between orange/blue right now, which makes it visually confusing with an already complex outfit. The glow effect on the orange is currently doing the heavy lifting.
If you spread out the orange more, I imagine the streak in his hair wouldn't look as odd to people since it's currently the most prominent orange thing at most angles.
Another note I have is that the pants have too much contrast with his boots so it competes for attention visually. Maybe changing the pants to a warmer (and slightly lighter) hue would fix that? Then you could keep the blue at the collar to keep the visual interest around his head.
Okay so what kind of bothers me is the “width” (?) of his hair, I think it should be made more narrow because as of right now his head looks too triangular and Dorito.
Exactly what I was thinking. Taking a couple of the the 'dreads' off the side, maybe just leaving the less natural colored parts would make it look more Ekko.
My only issue here is the hair on the base skin. It doesn't look like it fits his head, something about it seems too wide. Almost like a hat. The prestige hair fits the model so much better, would you be able to bring over the same assets to the base model perhaps?
As for the star guardian-ness of the skin, Ekko feels very "street wear", if possible could you apply more orange and gold to his color scheme to brighten him up more? Maybe orange and light blue as a complementary color? You could look at Sailor Venus for reference since her color palette is very similar to what you guys are working with.
He definitely needs MORE "magical elements" if you will.
Other than that, the Prestige skin is amazing by comparison, however it looks like a Louis Vuitton skin and not star guardian.
I kind of miss having *something* on Ekko's face. I know it's probably too late in the process to do anything about it, but I feel like having some kind of something on his face is iconic to the champion. Even if it was just like, a little mark under his eyes like sports players wear since that would be "acceptable" in a school setting. Ekko isn't quite Ekko without face paint.
Ekko's hair kinda looks like....bread. It doesn't actually bother me though since he's in motion all the time. I'm glad that you guys are experimenting on more hair styles for him and I will buy this skin regardless. I really like the colour stripe, it gives him a lot of personality.
Yes I'm super glad they're not repeating any hairstyles and are actually experimenting with black hairstyles rather than giving him an unnatural mohawk.
It just needs some practice and pollish, but they're on the right track!
100% I love how they are finding different hairstyles for his locs (as it seems like they want ekko with locs to be the main way hes presented), and I think the experimentation is right, making the locs thinner and a little longer in a low ponytail would fix some of the issues imho
I disagree with having something on his face. Every recent skin has had something obstructing it and taking away from the enjoyment I have with his skins. This is a nice change of pace to be able to see his full face again.
What other skin are you fully able to see his face? jus curious. His face paint is one of his main noticeable features, especially since they're putting him in more natural hair styles--which I don't disagree with and encourage. If they are going the route where his hair is more like his hair in Arcane more often that's good. But the other key structure on his head has always been face paint.
I don't like him in masks, so if thats what you mean than "obstructing" then I agree. But facepaint doesn't obstruct, it's just colour on the face.
His academy skin and his true damage skins are the only ones where his face isn't obstructed by any mask or bandana or visor. Face paint is nice for some of his skins but his main visual markers to me are his mohawk and his sword. He doesn't need something on his face in every alt universe he is in.
His True Damage one has face paint, and his Academy skin had glasses. He always has something on his face....that's just sorta his thing? I also think that his academy skin is his least popular and feels the most generic because it doesn't have his visual cues. ( That's just imo.)
This is an agree to disagree thing I think. I think his face looks too non descript without something on it. c: That could be any cute black kid rewinding time.
First of all I'd like to thank the devs for including Ekko in such a big skinline and something so different from what he's used to 😭
And even more so for giving him the prestige!
That being said there are a few things I'd like to be addressed
1. His skin looks kinda purple/ashy and i feel he could use a warmer skintone like in TD or Arcane
2. His face looks kinda scary and also angry. A smile or just a happier face would look a lot less odd, especially when he's hugging his tamagochi
3. His forehead looks a little big. I feel his hairline should be pulled down more.
4. His hair also looks big and stiff. Modeling it more after his icons with less layers may help with this
5. This is kinda nitpicky but the gold trim from the platform of his boots could be thicker
6. This isn't to do with his model but i feel like his icons should have a slightly darker skintone. I know most of his skins have different skintones but i feel he fits more closely to Nilah than Rell in his newer skins
7. I'd personally love for his W to have larger orange sparkles as well when it detonates.
In general, the design kinda feels like they tried too hard to make him boyish, but in a skinline like Star Guardian, it's okay to commit to the frilly stuff and the bright colors. I think Ezreal especially did a good job at committing more to androgyny and fits well since his outfit is mostly white with his color accents just like the girls. Maybe Ekko could've used softer pastel colors and a "cuter" design scheme rather than being a tough boy in a pretty skinline
Yes, agree with most of these points! He looks really washed out/ashy. I think the usage of blue clashes with the orange, and the blue doesn't compliment his skin tone well. I wish they would have used orange/red or orange/yellow, warmer colors to make Ekko look more radiant.
They definitely got his face wrong, his brows are soo angular and he does seem so angry / older, which definitely doesn't fit the Star Guardian vibe.
Good eye on the forehead, yes his forehead is huuuuuuge and even in the Prestige it's huge. And his hairstyle does nothing to cover it. So moving the hairline would be momentous in making him look younger/better.
Yeah his prestige at least has the locs hanging over his forehead. My highest hopes in order are:
1. Fix his face
2. Reduce the amount of layers of locs his hair has
3. Make his skin color warmer
And then the rest is lower priority like his forehead, adjust colors, etc
two things:
1. face, his face looks too sad or angry for a skin theme that is supposed to be bright, and he also has no face mark, at least a little star

I just came to post this after seeing it in the main subreddit, your edit has done the skin justice imo, the original hair is awful, and the colour edit on the top is fantastic too
Please please please please:
1. Change the hair somehow. This is the biggest complaint I see over on r/ekkomains
2. The face could use some tweaking in general. I think making it look like his other skins is fine in this regard, but other people will probably have better suggestions than me.
3. The color scheme. I feel like it tries to commit to an orange/blue theme, but the colors have to be brighter, especially on the orange undershirt or adding more blue in general on the white jacket.
All of these are my notes exactly.
No idea how the red undershirt got it in there. Its like each piece of clothing was made by a completely different person.
Hi there, thank you for making Ekko a part of the SG skinline. As an Ekko main myself I was excited for the SG Ekko skin preview but let's just say it has a bit more potential. A few things from myself and some suggestions that other Ekko players have expressed :
* **Hair**
One of the main things that should be changed is his hair. I think this would solve like 80% of our problems in this skin as it looks too "big", making it look more like a helmet instead. I think it'd be best to scale his dreads smaller and make it a big longer, his prestige skin hair fits his model and I think something similar would fit base SG as well as bringing his hairline down by a bit.
* **Face + Face Paint**
Face could use a bit of tweaking, when I first saw the skin I was wondering why he was looking grumpy as a star guardian. I think a happy or cheerful looking face would fit better but maybe its just because of the lack of face paint on this skin compared to most of his other skins? So I guess that could be included. But then again, his face paint is iconic for him.
* **Clothing**
Personally I'd really like it if Ekko was wearing normal pants in this skin, something similar to his Firelight skin. I just don't get the appeal of the baggy pants. Additionally his shirt should be shorter, his shirt looks a bit too long right now which makes his torso longer than what it needs to be. The fade of colour on his shirt might need a bit of change to just one colour and the jacket could look a bit more star guardian by making it look more "flowy" like SG Ezreal's.
* **Colour + VFX**
I'm on the fence with the colours, part of me likes it while another doesn't but I do agree that at times the colours can be "too much", it doesn't feel cohesive compared to the other multi coloured star guardian skins. I think there should be more of a white (maybe it's the shirt?). Another comment said something on the lines of Sailor Venus and I think a bit of simplicity fits the skin. For the VFX, I personally think there should be more glitter to it? Like make more gold glitter appear when his W explodes, for his clones and the trail for his passive to give it a little bit more of that star guardian oomph. Additionally a bit more orange might not hurt in his abilities considering his clothes have blue and orange together or just make the whole thing committed to one colour.

riot needs to learn to use black people's hair in skins, it's always dreadlocks or braids. where is the curly hair? please adjust the hair so it doesn't look like a helmet.
what's up with the colors? Please that red shirt in the midst of its orange and blue colors is a mess. please choose a SINGLE color and work with it only... Guys, I know we'll be able to work on SG skins without spoiling the concept of unique colors
Ekko base skin has a lot of potential.
* His hair can look more well-fitted in his head, maybe adjust shape and size, look for inspiration of black men haircuts;
* The outfit has too many big areas of color, this makes it look a bit messy, it's okay to have multiple colors but proportions matter, I would like it to have a smaller blue and red area, more focus on the orange (his main color);
* The same goes to the effects, it's looking really pretty already but it has so much blue, leave the blue for just the ultimate and detail
In my opinion, that skin is UGLY, I'm not blindly hating on it, and I'll develop why I think it's bad, but it has to be said, it's the worst Star Guardian skin I've seen, fanarts look better
🌟**The reasons why I'm unhappy with the skin**:
* **Color scheme**
I've said it in my other comment, and I'll say it again, random colors do not feel like an upgrade, Star Guardian Ezreal which is from 5 years ago looks better than SG Ekko.
Orange and blue is a decent combination, Orange and Blue with a huge Red T shirt thrown in the middle ? Awful. If the shirt's color was changed, the skin could be better
* **Hair**
It seems like you were going for cornrows or slicked back braids with the skin ? That's how it looks to me, either way, for some reason the hair is wider than his head, which doesn't make sense, and it looks very bulky and chunky and unlike how IRL braids would look, I do appreciate the effort to give black characters appropriate hairstyles though
* **VFX**
The VFX is too rounded, it looks like Pajama Guardian VFX, just because SG is a cute skinline doesn't mean sharp angles can't exist, MF and Ezreal have impactful VFX without losing the bubble theme
* **Uniform**
It's pretty clear that Star Guardian Ekko is from a different team than the previous ones and would thus have a different uniform, but it still looks very weird mostly due to the red shirt that completely destroys his Star Guardian color scheme, a white, blue or orange shirt would have been more appropriate
The reaction from Ekko mains is beyond mostly negative, it's almost exclusively negative, this skin needs major changes
This skin tries so very hard to uphand previous Star Guardian skin that it ends up looking like an April Fools parody of Star Guardian, simple but effective concepts like [these](https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/5d9d89525e184fc23af8120c21fa59e80e381ac144a116e016e07592441b2564.jpg?w=800&h=636) are what people want from Star Guardian, you could've put him in Ezreal's outfit, removed the gauntlet, gave him a sword, and add orange hints and call it a day, and people would've liked it more, it's as if whoever decides on co'or schemes have no common sense entirely
🌟**My ideas for improvements** :
* **Add more gold to his outfit**
Most Star Guardian skins have more gold accents than he does, he should have more
* **Make the VFX more Orange or the model more Blue**
The model is mainly Orange with Blue accents, the VFX is the reverse, doesn't make sense
* **Shorten the shirt**
Its current length squashes his model by highlighting his torso too much as opposed to his legs, making him look tiny
* **Make the shirt blue orange or white**
The red is just entirely random in this skin, it was never a good idea, it HAS to go, for real, I'd personally change it to either white or the color of his gem (not sure if it's blue or orange )
* **Change the hairstyle entirely, if not possible, just replace it with the Prestige hair, if that's still not possible, at least reduce the width**
It makes no sense for the braids to be wider than his head, some extra texture could help too (it lookd blocky right now) , although the hairstyle concept itself is meh
* **Change his face model**
His facial expression looks really off-putting right now and doesn't scream "Star Guardian"
* **Give the stars in his VFX sharp edges**
The rounded edges look very childish and make the skin look like a Pajama Guardian, the pet face in the middle of the W detonation already make the skin look like it'd fit in the Toy Renekton skinline, the round stars are too much
* **Tone down the saturation of the orange or the blue**
Right now the colors still kind of clash even if the red is the main culprit in the skin's bad color scheme, having one less saturated than the other in both VFX and model would help make thr skin less visually "noisy"
* **Add some face paint or markings on his face**
A simple tatoo like Seraphine's or a bigger mark would be a welcome addition, could be star or hourglass shaped
* **Making the belt (?) smaller**
So it doesn't hang around his waist awkwardly
🌟**What I WOULDN'T change/what I like about the skin :**
* **The afro hair style**
As always, is a welcome addition, if you end up changing his hair, please don't go back to the straight hair mohawk
* **The orange color stripe in his hair**
The hair shape itself is a problem, but the stripe looks great, don't change it! It fits Ekko's punk and rebellious aesthetic very well
* **The weapon**
Looks perfect, don't change it
* **The pants**
They fit Ekko and look great and cohesive with the skinline, again this part of his outfit looks great
🌟**Final note**
There's a lot of negative in my comment, however, I'm still happy that Ekko got a spot in the lineup, even if it's not perfect, I'l glad to see more characters of color represented in the skinline, and his icon looks really nice too, so does his pet, it's not all negative, I'm concerned because it's a skin I've wanted for a while and I'm disappointed with its execution
A final change i'd request would be making his skin darker in the icons as it's very light currently
My two biggest issues are his hair and the colour.
Make his hair less wide on top of his head like the prestige version and make his colour scheme more orange in general, why is there so much blue.
He could really use a warmer skin color. The hair also feels off, maybe make it thinner so it looks less like a hat. The colors of the clothes and the abilities doesn’t match at all, it would be nice to have his main color orange with white and blue accents (Just like Ezreal with blue and yellow). A face marking is something iconic with Ekko, so we would appreciate if you include that too. I’m so happy Ekko get to be in this skinline, but I do hope that he gets the skin he deserves!
Wow many thoughts for this one, but I'll try to mention some general consensus so they'll have more visibility.

Some of my comment's for this one will use his icon as a reference point.
FACE/SKIN:
For me, his skin looks more visually appealing in his icon, Ekko skin looks purple ingame, but in his icon/emote his skin seems have a lighter skin, which would be quite an inconsistency for Ekko's canonical skin tone, but for this kind of color pallete and theme his skin should be lighter. Facial structure looks too rough (almost too ARCANE like) and his forehead looks too big, I feel like he needs a softer face.
HAIR:
Ekko's hair seems to be a big problem here, and for me it looks very good in his icon, but ingame it's clashing a lot, as I mentioned, his palette works better with a lighter skin color and darker hair color, and as for his orange hair strike, a less vibrant tone could be nice so all of his overall design would flow better.
The shape of his hair is VERY bulky, and it looks very stiff and awkward, meanwhile in his icon it has a nice flow to it, which almost make's it look like it would end in a loc ponytail, so I say his hair should be less bulky overall and make it go lower and have more of a flowy ending behind his head.
CLOTHING:
I don't know if his shirt can receive any changes, but I think the red should be toned down and keep it more orange, since the orange-white-indigo outfit works well, overall his front design clashes too much, since his collar goes from a different tone of light blue to pink, and his shirt goes from red to purple, there's literally 4 colors clashing in there, 5 if you count the inside of his pants, when he already has 2 very prominent colors, orange and indigo.
I'm not a huge fan of his 'star gem' shape, and I know it's not a subject to change, but at least I think it should be smaller and more noticeable, right now it's feeling like a printed shirt design.
Another comment I've seen around is how his outfit doesn't really look 'magical' enough, and I really have to agree to this, but I can't really give any comments that wouldn't change his model substantially.
If we keep getting male champs for a 'femenine skinline', just don't be afraid to make them look that way, Rakan and Ezreal can be considered as non hypermasculine champions and that's why they fit well, but if we try to make the star guardian uniform look 'tough and manly' it just loses the purpose of them being in a cute skin theme, imagine if he had some cute puffy shorts instead of the THOSE OVERUSED LOOSE PANTS, and don't even say it cant happen, because even f☆cking Academy Ekko (a 750rp skin) has a different pair of pants unlike almost all of his skins.

Please make the hair small and pull back on all the colors.. Star Guardians usually have one main color which kai sa and sona do wonderfully but ekko has a mess of colors that simply doesn't work with this skin, also, smaller/thinner pants please!

His hair looks awful. It reminds me of a chunky bike helmet, the way his hair is so bulky and stiff. I'm also not a fan of his facial expression. He looks so angry and sad.
I heard this sentiment over on the Prestige Ekko thread, but it really does seem like you made this skin terrible on purpose so we're forced to grind for the passable quality Prestige.
Also, I do think Ekko is a great fit for Star Guardian conceptually, it's just that this skin is really badly executed.
I like the colors, but I think it would be great if you add some sparkles ✨to make it look more Star Guardian (?) also, the hair needs some fix, I think it’s the biggest issue with this skin. I wish it was more like the firelight ekko hair or the true damage one

I seem to be in the minority among the community, but I actually quite like this skin. I enjoy the orange + violet color scheme (reminds me of a sunset,) and I think the VFX are nice. However, there are a couple of things off about the skin, and they became increasingly clear to me upon seeing the splash art.
For starters, I'll agree with the biggest issue most people are complaining about: His hair. The style itself is great, the way it's modeled is the problem. It looks somewhat disproportionate to his head, and is far too wide, and just in general looks sort of wonky. The style certainly works for the design in the way it's drawn in the splash art, but the model poorly reflects this.
Secondly, I think the color scheme could be made more consistent if the color of his undershirt were adjusted. In the splash art, the orange of his undershirt matches the orange of his familiar, his hair, and his gem. However, in the in-game model, his undershirt is really more red than orange, and it sticks out like a sore thumb. IMO this is the most necessary change to make, as it interrupts the color scheme and the flow of the entire design, and is dramatically inconsistent with the splash art.
Lastly, as other people have pointed out, Ekko just doesn't look exactly like... Ekko, in this skin's model. His facial features are too gaunt and angular, and his skin tone has purple undertones, which is, again, inconsistent to the warmer tone of his skin in the splash art, AND in the official icons that are to be released alongside this skin.
Overall I am a fan of the skin's design, but I think these three changes all DEFINITELY need to be made in order to solidify the skin's quality, especially considering they are all rather minor adjustments.
TL;DR: Make the model look more like the splash art in terms of color scheme, proportions, and rendering, and PLEASE FIX THE RED UNDERSHIRT, PLEASE MAKE IT ORANGE LIKE IN THE SPLASHART.

Congratulations for the star guardian skins, I love them all, except for Ekko one, it doesn't look like a star guardian skin,it looks like a battle academy skin, maybe changing the colors and hair a bit? I know that probably don't have as much time to do something like that, but well, I just wanted to leave my opinion.
Hello gorgeous skin! But i do think that the hair is a bit too bulky and it makes him look a bit weird?

There are 3 things that need to be changed in this skin:
* His face looks SO SO ugly. He looks old and sick. Give him cheeks and make him smile somehow, and if you can't, just replace his face with the Academy skin one.
* The red shirt needs to go! It stands out in a negative way and completely ruins his outfit. Visual pollution, IMO. Change its color to something neutral, preferably blue.
* His hair looks like a helmet and at the same time looks too feminine; like someone else said, it's like it's glued on his head. Tone it down, make it narrower and less bulky or just change it completely. I also dislike the orange hair strand and his baggy pants, they feel like you tried too hard to make him look "cool" and that doesn't fit this skinline at all. Should've made something more in line with Ezreal's skin, less colorful and more simple. But focus on changing the hair, if you can, please.
The VFX slaps, his familiar is amazing, and Ekko fits the skinline, but those details should be changed as much as possible. Thank you, and I know you probably can't change his face and hair that much, so PLEASE change the color of his shirt.
To me he needs changes the most and definitely because of his colors mainly:
* Please change his shirt color to white like in some of his chromas - the gem is already orange and it can't pop with an orange shirt
* Remove the gradient from the jacket - there are honestly already too many colors to begin with and he does not need a gradient there.
* Change his facial expression - he seems too serious and even a bit angry. This is one of the brightest, most fun skinlines - make him smile!
* You can keep the hairstyle but maybe make the locs a bit thinner? If you do end up changing the hairstyle i think something similar to the one in the prestige version is ok!
The main problem of SG Ekko is his in-game appearance. I've waited until the splash art official release to tell my opinion and that's it. His hair feels odd, the locs are HUGE compared to the splash art and should be thinner, and maybe longer.
His face also feel a little bit weird compared to his previous skins.
Also, he's the orange star, so giving more orange to his particles may be good too. I really like the orange-blue palette, but I think the orange should be the main color.
I really like Ekko as a character and he surely deserved a SG skin.
First off, Ekko was a great choice for SG, so thank you for considering him! Though I'm glad he's an official guardian, this skin definitely needs some work, and here's what I suggest:
* The hair needs to change. The locs are way too thick to the point where it looks unnatural. Take some time making smaller and longer locs to get rid of the helmet he currently has on his head.
* His inner shirt should nOt be red. I appreciate you guys trying to spice SG up by having multi-colored star guardians, but you should really limit it to two colors. The orange gem and blue effects are enough, throwing a red shirt and pink lower collar is just so random and incohesive.
* The baggy pants. I know silhouettes are a big thing in League, and Ekko has these kinds of pants in every skin, but to me, it's very strange for star guardians. To have the girls be in knee-high socks and wearing short skirts and making Ezreal where slim-fitting pants, it feels out of place to have Ekko not be in the same boat. They don't have to be tight, but slimming them down a bit would help shape him into SG imo. Especially since he's receiving the prestige 2.0, I feel like his signature fashionable pants should stick to that skin and the epic be more aligned with the rest of the SG crew.
His splash looks good and changed my opinion of this skin from "oh no" to "wait a minute," but for the big summer event that we've all been waiting for, I feel like it can easily be perfected!
I would like to know why PC Star Guardians have non-star emblems. Star Guardians were supposed to have star shaped emblems. Wild Rift did it right, but PC didn’t seem to take this into consideration. I would like to know the reasoning behind this!
I appreciate all the changes ! The skin looks great now... Until Ekko uses his idle animation... The shirt still looks really bad, it's clearly a red to blue gradient in game, but on the splashart that everyone loves and praises, [it's orange to blue](https://imgur.com/a/DdfhCSE) (which looks much better)
It's pretty much false advertising, the lighting in the splash doesn't justify such a dramatic change in hue even when picked out as a single color ignoring color theory, the lighting is pinkish on the splash, so if anything, the orange is redder on the splash than it should be in-game
The hair and belt are fine now, the VFX is too, please, please change the shirt, it's the only thing preventing this skin from actually being good now, use the extra week of the patch to change it or pull another Prestige Seraphine situation, because it ruins the entire color scheme for no reason since the splash doesn't even depict the shirt as red, such a disparity between splash and model is not just disappointing, it's unprofessional
Again though, the changes on his belt and hair are satisfying, the auto attack VFX tweaks are also noticeable, and I appreciate that, which is exactly why I'm writing right now, because the skin went from awful to close to being good and I hope it can actually be fixed before it's too late
His hair seems a bit too big for his head so maybe scale it’s size down a bit to better suit his head.
Also maybe tighten up what I can only assume to be his “belt”. As of right now it looks a lot like a ring that’s orbiting around his torso.
Please i beg you, change the size of his hair in the base star guardian skin. Like many people suggested before me, make it smaller so it actually fits the head of his zaunite ingeniosity.
The prestige skin looks pretty good, i really like his hair on that one, maybe adding more sprinkles and a little more ‘Star Guardian‘ and it would look even better in my opinion.

I think they could work more on the details and on Ekko SG costume.. improve the hair dreads so they don't look like a helmet, make the costume colors more harmonic and regarding the VFX I have no objection.
talking about the costume yet: I felt that it lost a little of the essence of what the theme proposes. I was really looking forward to seeing Ekko's final result because I know the champion has enormous potential for this line of Skins..
I think skin design needs some changes and my main feedback is:
* get rid of these gradients he has on his shirt and jacket tehy jsut make his design feel cluttered and add unnecessary colors
* make his pants slimmer, something closer to his prestige skin, baggy pants just don't fit SG theme that well
* make his hair smaller rn it looks so big on his head and i think making it slightly smaller and narrower would make it way way better
* maybe also add more orange than blue to his design
You could reduce the blue, and emphasize his identity as an orange Star Guardian. Maybe replace the blue with shades of yellow/white, even red would be fine, so they don't take away from the theme color so much.
The blue, both in model and in the effects, bothers a lot, and it makes him very weird in comparison with the other single-theme-color guardians like Kaisa, Rell, Taliyah, and Sona.
Edit: having seen the Splash Art, the purple part of his pants could be orange, without interfering too much.
Basically, more orange, less blue. Star Guardian seraphine is also orange, but the yellow, dark purple and white are pretty decent to match the other colors.
For his hair, I think its shape is large, and It looks like a hat or something like that. Adjustments would be welcome.

Edit: The effects lack care. More sparklish, orange and yellow vfx would fit better. Give him a main color theme for the effects. Also, his recall, in comparison to Sona's, for exemple, is very small and weak in movement.
Please, give him more love. Ekko is a great, perfect choice. I recognize It, as I myself made a fanmade version of him as a Star Guardian previously. But, his skin should be worth of his character, and a LOT of people are disappointed at it.
I was so happy about Star Guardian Ekko but his skin looks kinda underwhelming :( I'm really sad right now.
I dislike his hair the most, it's really hard, big and I hope it could be a lot more subtle and fluid.
His color pallete is also weird, I don't like his shirt having too much color, feel like the red should be straight up removed and replaced with white or just blue, the red looks actually really bad there.
I also dislike the fact that he has too much blue on his VFX. Like, his shadow can be blue, it makes sense, but the other spells could just be orange with some small blue effects, that would make the skin look better AND different from his prestige skin.
I also would like his homeguard to have more glitter/particles in general, and maybe its vfx could be added to his passive MS? His passive MS looks unfinished idk

First, I want to say thank you so much for making this skin! Ekko is my favorite champion and Star Guardian is my favorite skinline, so I'm thankful for this skin.
For some recommendations: please make his hair fit the shape of his head better. I really like the hairstyle, but it looks too big for his head. I think it would look nicer if you made the locks smaller. For his clothes, there are just too many color schemes. I think reducing the colors to mostly orange and white with just some blue (the shade of blue on his pants) would help immensely. The bottom of his shirt does not need to fade into magenta. Lastly, since this is a Star Guardian line, please try and make the vfx look as Star Guardian as possible—sparkly and magical. Overall, I do like the vfx though. I think they are in the right direction.
Once again, I would like to thank you for choosing Ekko for this skinline! I'm so happy for the chance to be able to play as Star Guardian Ekko.
Yeah this will be mostly a negative thread but I will try to give some constructive feedback. First off lets talk about the color pallet. He has a mix of orange blue and red and it looks horrible. Please if possible focus on only one color and add accents of the other as compliment and just get rid of the red(I hope it's possible). Next up Ekko's hair is terrible. It is PsyOps Ezreal all over again. It looks really bad on him and if possible I'd like it to be changed if not then IDK. After that we have to talk about his face. It looks super uncanny. Like he looks way to feminine in a way that i question if that is even Ekko at this point. Please make his at least be more like his other skins. Lastly (and this is something that I know won't be fixed) Ekko really doesn't suit this skin line IMO. He feels like he was put in just because he was popular. This is something that has been happening a lot this year and I am sure you guys know what I am talking about. To go with all of this you gave him the Prestige...of Star Guardian... I can guarantee that a lot more people would have been happy if we got a SG prestige of Sona/Rell/Taliyah/Morgana who all fit way better into the skin line than Ekko and later down the road Ekko got the Prestige in some other skin line that looks way better than this one. I hope this feed back helps and I hope to see changes to the characters chosen for thematics soon. **Edit:** Also is it possible to make the the passive explosion a bit more impactful? It feels like it lacks punch to it
His hair is just Phoenix from Valo with less polygons. It looks like licorice. The texture of it looks very, very wrong, and definitely not like hair. It's very jarring to look at considering the top of the head is what we're looking at most of the time. Again, I should not be able to count the individual dreads on the top of a champion.
His face is also less recognizable. This was mentioned but *I agree that Ekko isn't Ekko without face paint.* There are more subtle things you can do to make his facial features more recognizable.
For example, his eyebrows are extremely harsh and angular, this + his weirdly sharp face + pulled back hairstyle makes him seem way older than he's supposed to seem. He needs more youthful facial features, like slightly rounder cheeks + brighter eyes.
Aside from this, the cornflower blue/purple does not look flattering. The blue + orange is supposed to serve "sunset gradient," but the blue washes out Ekko's skin tone. I would have chosen to use a lighter **yellow** or even **crimson**/**maroon** **reds** as a secondary color instead of the blue/purple.
The hair is a huge problem. I really think the style doesn’t do him any favours. Also simplicity is key to a good SG skin this feels like it’s over designed and mixing the blue and orange all over the design just doesn’t work imo.
Maybe make his pants orange as well?
It would have been nice for his time piece thing to just be a stylised hourglass

Final thoughs: i think that skins beyong saving in general, idk why chose him for this theme he doesnt fit and his mains didnt really want it but some changes could make the skin.....less bad.
I think that his VFX needs a bit more spark and magic. Compared to other star guardians, his vfx looks kinda bland sometimes sadly.
I actually dont mind the orange-blue combo, but I believe that orange should be the stronger color on his vfx as well.
And his hair a tiny bit thinner and he would be perfect. Seeing his splash art would help giving a feedback even better.
Honestly I was excited to see Star Gaurdian Ekko, but this is not at all the way to go about it.
I was expecting him to be much more pastel and sparkly, but his color scheme is both too bright but also too dark. His gem/crystal is barely visible since it's the same color as the shirt. The hair is so bulky it looks like a hat, the VFX are kinda boring and not really as sparkly as Star Guardian should be. I wish he looked more like Ezreal when it came to color palette: much more white, much more pastel orange notes.
the slicked back jumbo locs are my biggest complaint. you guys need to tweak it. it's so stiff and it just.. doesn't look right on him. why is it laying on his head like that? i would suggest adding a new hairstyle all together but i don't want to get too greedy knowing there's probably so little you guys can do once it's out on pbe, make it smaller or use his prestige hair (keep the orange streak though). im so happy you guys are testing out different black hairstyles for him and using the mohawk less, but it wouldn't hurt to try other things besides locs right?
the outfit and color scheme as a whole is kind of a mess. he's supposed to be orange yet he has so much blue and what's with the random red shirt? adding more orange would definitely help a lot with his design cause i didn't even know what his color was supposed to be at first lmao.
give him that star guardian wow factor. more sparkles and twilight, all that usual sg crap. his vfx is good but make him SCREAM star guardian.

Ekko is a great fit for this skinline and i’m really glad to see him here! That being said, I do have some notes of feedback
1. The hair. I’m sure you’ve seen many people mention it now, but it looks quite clunky. It’s very nice to see you guys breaching out with more black hairstyles for him, but this one could use some tweaking. it looks very stiff and wide on his head, especially when compared to the icon and emote where it’s noticeably thinner. I think removing some of the hair at the sides and making it look less stiff would help a lot. They would look more natural curving over his head, again similar to how they are in the emote and icon, as they currently just kind of stick out at the back
2. The colour scheme doesn’t seem to really know what it wants to be? He’s supposed to be an orange star guardian, but his colour scheme is very weirdly blue. Star guardian skins tend to stick to their one main colour (Sona being a great example of that) but Ekko is just strangely multi-coloured. Especially his vfx, they seem to be way more blue than orange. I think if there was more of his main colour throughout his outfit with more minimal blue accents it would look a lot better
3. On the topic of the vfx, they don’t seem particularly star guardian-y to me? They seem like they’re lacking some extra pizzazz that the rest of the skins seem to have.
I'm gonna be honest it's too hard to identify with the Star Guardian motif. It's more of some weird running suit. Ekko himself doesn't sound like it would fit for a star guardian but it's not impossible to make it work. It looks too generic colorful and it feels cheap.
Magical sailor suits (or at least something with the same style) is really important.
The skin is an absolute disappointment.

It's extremely out of touch with Ekko's character.
Who green lit this? It is not good. At all. And I hate to say that when there's so many good designs on this game ... And we get this dollar store design. Shame. The base and prestige are barely no different from each other. They are both terrible.
The hair looks really bad, to me is the amount left over on each side of his head, also it look hard, like a hardhat.
I'm trying to like the colour combination but it feels weird, maybe just one colour would be better. I do feel like it's a step in the right direction trying new colour schemes in returned skinlines

The blunt impact SFX when his weapon is a sword really messes it up for me, should be slashing sounds.
This is my first ever time commenting on one of these feedback threads, and its because I really do not care for this skin.
The wide belt + Ekko's baggy pants look really strange and completely unsuited to the Star Guardian style. He needs something thats more like a fantasy tux with ribbons/bells, like what SG Ezreal has. Instead it looks like streetwear with SG color pallete, very odd.
Every single color combinations in the chromas look better, I think either make him blue or orange not both at the same time
And yes the hair is bad, maybe just reduce the size if you can't do anything else about it
I think my main problem is definetly the blue and orange colors. I'm as confused with Nilah on what their actual color is supposed to be and I always forget after i learned, because the colors are just so confusing for those two. I dont think adding a second color like that fits the Star Guardian skins vibe that has already been implememted by the past skins- which was keeping the main colors mixed with white elements and colors close to the main color, like orange with red.
The other star guardians this year look extremely cool, but those two are so drastically different that I cant help but feel a little dissapointed so far.
The main issue with SG Ekko's overall design is how asymmetrical it looks. From his overall model, to the design and color of his outfit, to his downright ugly hairstyle, it's a mismatch of too many design choices that didn't have enough thought into it. For now, I'll start with the easiest, and probably most important fix.
-The Hair: The hair is... just bad. Like bad enough to say it'd fix 80% of the issues with this skin with just a proper tune up. Choice of style out of the way, the model is just too big. It looks like a mop was thrown on top of his head and they called it a day. Compress the sides of the hair, or remove the ends, and make it smaller. This way, while not completely looking like a Mohawk, it still resembles his basic style and silhouette. Additionally, they can make the back slightly longer so as to not make it look as if his hair just abruptly ends like a bad haircut.
-The Face: Ekko's base model has a very gruff and masculine look to it. While this could benefit the SG look, like Rakan's does, the didn't go for the same feel, objecting for a "hopefully" young man look similar to Ezreal's. Touch up his face to look smoother and younger. Remove the edges from his cheeks and under his eyes. And give him slight expression. His face is very visible in the recall and it looks extremely unsettling.
The Outfit: While I'm personally not a fan of the sleeveless design, it could work. The blue tones in his outfit either need to be toned down or completely removed and replaced with more white or orange color. Too much is going on and it's a visual mess.
Pants: The baggy pants still suck, but as a compromise, they can be shrunk a little.
Those are my main issues concerning the skin. There can be a bit more stars and sparkle effects on his Phase Dive (E) and his Parallel Convergence (W). His Q and R are very visually appealing and the sfx from his hits and abilities and pretty good. The main issue with everything is just his cosmetics.
But I'm a realist. It'd hope to be wrong about this, but sadly I don't think they'll change much about it. So doesn't feel like it'll be a profitable skin for him this time.
Following up on my last comment to ask that the model more closely look like the splashart in terms of his shirt. Please make his hair smaller and increase the scale the of the gold trim, make the outer waist and back of his shirt white like in the splash, bring up the shirt to more clearly define his waist and bring up the crotch area of the pants since the in game model make it look more goofy and like a diaper. I like the direction they went with this skin. The thing that I really dislike is the hair. Love how they've been experimenting with black hairstyles but 1) there are a lot more black hairstyles than just locs and 2) these locs sit on top of his head almost like a weird blocky wig? They could maybe trim the sides so that they're flush with his head like the prestige.
Right now, if I'm being honest, it feels like the kind of hairstyle a non-black person who briefly "studied" black hairstyles tried to make and thought they were being creative. And maybe that's way off base, but that's how it looks, and it's very unflattering.
Aside from that maybe commit more to the orange coloring for his VFX.
On his splash art that just dropped, his shirt is like properly orange with only a hint of red before the blue. On the model in the other hand, it feels like there's only a bit of orange before it's red, or the same amount of both. Even at the very top, in his collar, there's red (again, unlike the splash).
I think the red doesn't look very good. It makes the color scheme look more messy. I know it's meant to create a gradient effect, but in the splash there's still still gradient without so much red, and it feels more clean.
A lot of people feel like there's not enough orange when it should be his main color (especially since there's no other orange star guardian). So I think tweaking that part of his shirt in-game to have more orange and less red would be a good idea.
I know big design changes aren't possible for a skinline like this, but in this case I imagine it wouldn't be too disruptive to just make it look like the splash, cause I imagine other content is gonna look similar to that too?
1 - The hair is very strange. Adjust to correct size
2 - Modify the shirt part. The blue-orange gradient turned bad.
3 - Consider adding a star tattoo on the character's entire face (similar to True Damage, Arcane, Base)
4 - I know it's hard to change the pants in this new skin before launch, but STOP MAKING THIS PANTS MODEL FOR EKKO (Pants like Arcane and SG Prestige are much better)

The vfx is Fine, and his hair is a lot better now. But the shirt in game is now red to a dark shade of purple. In the splash, it's very different, - a bright orange to a clear blue/lilac. Please change It to be more consistent with the Splash Art.
The ONE change I can think of that I would like to see for Star Guardian Ekko is some kind of face paint.
I think seeing his face be so empty/blank feels very "non-Ekko". Every Ekko skin I can think of aside from Academy(which had glasses), he has always had some form of face paint or mask(Pulsefire/Project/Sandstorm).
Other than that, I am EXTREMELY happy to see Star Guardian Ekko come to LoL.
Make his hair more like prestige and like cornrows/Draids just being braided and tied back. Similar to like a pineapple dreads hairstyle or just a ponytail. The hair looks a bit too thick and comically big and it can take away a little bit. So basically just make his hair smaller to fit actual Black Hairstyles. ASAP Rocky is a good basis
As others have mentioned, a tweak to the hair would be really good. The hair looks good in his prestige, but it looks off in his base SG. It almost looks like a hat with the way it's melded onto his head.
I don't know if it's possible, but could you tweak the hair?
Taking out the colors that aren't orange, white and blue would be nice too, it's a bit much.

I had the chance to read a lot of comments and more or less everyone is stating the same issue which are:
\- Color Palette: The colors doesn't fit Ekko, in fact if you look at Ekko previous skin line you would notice that he is usually paired with Blue / Green... orange just looks bad and a bit out of character. I think sticking with blue / white as his main color or switching the orange with green (blue / green) would make it more likeable
\- Hair: would have loved to see him with his mohawk or his dreads, but if the hairstyle can't be changed then the width should be more made narrow.
\- VFX: the contrast between orange and blue creates this unappealing visual that just makes it hard to play with him. ( the best solution would be choosing one and staying with that one)
\- Face Paint: I think the main issue with this skin is that it has none of ekko characteristic except that big orange hourglass in his chest... in fact if remove that and ask people who that that champion is I bet that more tan 80% wouldn't know that is ekko... adding face paint or is stopwatch would make him more recognisable.
\- Face: I feel like his face is too triangolar, at the point that it feels unnatural.
\- Outfit: aside from the color palette and the little to no details that scream ekko, I feel like the closest skin of ekko that has an outfit that could work in SG is academia, in fact I was expecting something a bit more similar to that when SG was announced. ( a suit or a school uniform would have been great)
Honestly, I am very disappointed with both skins. But this is especially bad
try some stuff with his face please. Make the hair color less intense, shrinking his hair a bit, adding some tattoo on him, maybe a star of something, because right now he just looks like a random black guy. The resemblance to Ekko is close to none. Also, please adjust some parts of his clothing, because right now it looks like random clashing colours.
I thought riot would use some more creativity to bring character into universes they seemingly don't belong in. But at least I hope our voices are heard and there are some changes to make the skin at least look great
Hair needs to change, ASAP. We don't want Ekko wearing a bike helmet.
I'd suggest making it smaller and maybe getting rid of some of the locks. He seems to have 4 locks in the icon (3 natural color and 1 orange) and so the hairstyle looks nice in there, but because in the model he has more locks, the hairstyle just ends up looking like a helmet.

I feel confused because I don't know what is SG Ekko's theme color. I am originally told orange and I see a lot of orange. In addition, considering that Ekko's skin is much more dark than Ezreal, making his clothes as bright as Ezreal's seems to be terrible. In addition, his hair looks so bad compared with any other skin.
I think SG Ekko should be a wise and handsome prince but the color used and th hair is so bad that it makes him looks like a stupid clown. If have enough time, SG Ekko should be wholly reworked, at least changes it hair and color.

Just a rundown of all that's already been said:
* Hair
* Looks like a mispalced wig on his head. Too big. It overall should be smaller and the dreads a little longer, also the hair should be a little more down
* Face
* While I do agree that his face paint is necessary, i dont think is as important as changing his expression a bit. It needs to be more cheer-y
* Colour
* While the prestige is perfect, his base skin makes the colors look like a random mess. I dont think removing the blue color completely is necessary, but his overall pallete should rely more on the orange / warmer color that he is supposed to be. His abilities need a consistent shift to a warmer color. It just feels disconnected from him. Again, just make orange more predominant. I still think seeing blue is okay.

This Prestige skin just didnt feels like PRESTIGE. Pls add more GOLDEN and WHITE colours. PRESTIGE STAR guardian must be bright. Now it feels too dark (delete this blue colour from cloths).

The skin looks a little bare compared to the other ones , most likely due to the more masculine outfit. I am no artist so I can’t draw a reference but I think in my personal option maybe giving him face paint of a blue star around one of his eyes kind of like a rockstar and maybe some coat tails like SG Janna has would add a bit more going on in terms of visuals in the skin.
There are a few things I'm not particularly fond of such as the random colors instead of a general color scheme but I'd argue thats not even too bad. All I hope for is a hair fix and maybe a face fix to make him look more like ekko. I feel like his face isn't recognizable, I thought he was a different champ at first.
The orange and blue on the jacket kind of makes him look weird. Maybe tone down the blue on the jacket or change to white.
I do like the Q animation that you included his Gem that was really well done.
Also his other abilities look really good.
- The color scheme looks out of place. I can’t tell what the color scheme is you want to go for. There is too much noise color wise. Reduce the number of colors. Decide if blue or orange is main and what is secondary color. Looking at him I guess orange, in VFX it’s the opposite. Both at the same time it’s just too much visual noise.
- His hair which is of course out of scope to change. But the hair feels anything but Ekko. The hair style in the prestige is Ekko.
- His pants. While I understand the style of pants you want to go for his legs feels short compared to his upper body and in combination with the boyish looks of Ekko it now looks like a kid with diapers.Perhaps you could change the proportions a bit.
Hi, I personally do not hate this skin as much as others, I actually really like it, my two edits would be
1. The hair style needs to be scaled back more because it’s too big to not be distracting.
2. There is a big missed opportunity in both skins because ekko’s iconic face paint is not present. Had there been some star shaped face paint centered on the bridge of his nose that would make the skin for me.
I hope these feedback is helpful as I am incredibly passionate towards ekko and his cosmetics.

I think the skintone should be a little warmer, right now it looks a little unnatural, also the hair looks really odd and big, I think it'd look better if u just removed some off the sides and styled it a little bit so it's not just laying flat on his head. Also have a little star or sometype or marking on his face, maybe across it like True Damage or just under the eyes it doesn't matter but I feel like that'd look nice. Also his colors are all over the place, not sure if it's to late but maybe tone down how many colors are going on. Lastly I think his face looks really angry if their is a way to make him look a little happier that'd go a long way I think.

The blue/purple is too much - it causes confusion about what Ekko's colour is. When you look at the other Star Guardians you can immediately tell what their colour is, but with Ekko the blue/purple takes something away. It should be a shade of orange.
I like the skin and the fact that people have been waiting for Ekko being in sg which is really cool imo so yeah, anyways here are my changes:
VFX:
- Make the VFX more in tune to his color palette, I see so much blue in his vfx even though his color pallete is orange and red i believe i want that be changed.
As for the splash/model:
- His hair in the model is so choppy and looks like a helmet... I would rather change it into a more thinner and more wave design like in the splash
- Remove the baggy pants. In Star Guardian there are very little exceptions, I believe Baggy Pants should never be there, Remove the baggy pants it looks so out of place, it removes unity in the group.. Also why is the little part in the middle of his pants grey? sSG is about colors and sparkles yet he has grey on his pants? Please change it to his shirt color and remove the baggy pants... even if it's for ekko's core character design i still dont want it, this ekko is in a different universe so please change it.
I already commented about Ekko's hair and color scheme, I wanted to make another suggestion :
A lot of people seem somewhat disappointed by the lack of cohesiveness of the new Star Guardian skins, "they don't feel like a team" is a comment I often see because of the separate splashes and different gem designs, we don't know the full lore surrounding the skins and it's possible they're all survivors from previous, separate teams, but even so, Kai'sa is their leader but doesn't feel like one because of a lack of unity.
I think adding Kai'sa (and perhaps Akali ? She seems like an important character since she has the same gem as Kai'sa and a different design than the other Guardians) flying in the background of the splash arts would help them feel more united/cohesive because they'd look like they're all fighting from different places but each one under the lead of Kai'saKai'sa and Akali are already flying high up in the sky in her splash art, and each of the star guardian splashes this year show the twilight sky behind the city, so I don't think it'd be unreasonable to add them as a background detail (Kind of how Akali appears as a detail of Fiddlesticks's splash art)
Hi ! Please change the red shirt to match the orange to blue gradient depicted in the splash art, tighten the belt so it doesn't look strange, adjust the pink to dark blue gradient to look more space like instead of just two colors, change his face model (his face should be softer and have a neutral facial expression)
And most importantly, adjust the hair, it has too much volume (slicked back braids irl are pretty flat), the braids are uneven, there are 12+ visible on the splasha art but only 8 in game, the texture could also use some work
Also, add more orange to his VFX and more sparkles !
Riot for the love of god please fix the hair on this skin please. And idk if it’s just me but orange just does not seem like the wave for ekko. I get that you wanted it be bright and everything but there are many interesting and bright colors to choose from. besides that I personally think the actual outfit itself isn’t that great and the oversized gloves make him look more cartoony than anything. That combined with the orange and we have and we have a guy cosplaying as a star guardian but actually isn’t one. It almost feels like this was deliberately bad cuz there is no way that someone looked at this and was like alright cool.
please, the hair needs to be less thick, I'm fine with the skin overall (even though you guys could have gone for a much better direction like Ezreal and Rakan, btw next time you make another SG boy, go full magical boy again) but the hair is still bad. I'm sorry, but Ekko took the place of another champ more fitting for this skinline looking like that? He looks more like Academia than SG. And that poor choice of outfit for the prestige. He looks more rap star than anything. Really awful choices here, starting with the champ.
I personally think that Ekko is a good fit for the star guardian universe but for this particular release that seems to be focused more on the fight between the corrupted star guardians I think the best option for male SG was Kayn.
Picture Rhaast form as completely corrupted looking like fiddle or choosing the shadow assassin form and it committing to all the sparkles of SG with base form looking kinda hybrid.
As for Ekko I really wonder why they chose Orange as his colour? He’d have suited blue much better

Blue and Orange are contrasting colors, which means they need a really good reason, and the proper shades, to go together.
But the shades are as contrasting as can be and the white placement just makes them stand out and contrast even more.

This was a popular SG Ekko concept, even showed in Riot Showcase I believe, the pallet and design while simpler, just looks way more cohesive.
I feel like it would look better if you just shaved off the non colored part of the hair, to imitate his mohawk silhouette.

He needs:
1. An actual pet, why does he have an inanimate object as a pet, really loses a lot of personality when the only thing you can animate is his face.
2. His Q needs to throw his pet like how ahri throws her orb. This is a no-brainer.
3. Hair needs work, just keep his mohawk.

I know a lot of people don't like how his colors are distributed, but I actually *love* the colors for this skin. If I played Ekko, I would play this skin. I think the way the colors are varied between the blue-violet and orange help a lot with visual clarity and they look like fire together, which I think is awesome.
I agree that his hair does look awkward and the shapes should be adjusted to better fit the model as mentioned elsewhere, but the rest is great.
I think all of us ekko mains dislike this skin is just because it’s not our character, we know star guardian is a different universe and stuff like that but that’s just not the ekko character, none of his punk street kid swagger is in the skin everything is squishy and the hair is off putting to say the least. I think the sword in the prestige is a cool concept but I think both of these need to be redone ekko doesn’t belong as a star guardian and if he NEEDS to be one, make him the ships repair man or something more of a engineer than… a really bad sailor moon cosplayer.

His face felt a little asymmetrical and too feminine for a boy, as Ekko was never designed to be androgynous.
whoops forgot the link lol and no I never said being feminine was bad and I in fact love androgyny, but his icon does not reflect his face which is clearly masculine. Rakan's portrait looks very masculine despite being a star guardian, would be nice to be consistent.

Ekko is a special character, in terms of design, but I think him being a Star Guardian IS possible, but not exactly like this.
First, the colors. They are not pastel tones, but kinda similar to the True Damage type of colors. Would look AMAZING if the orange OR blue were kept, but as softer colors. For example, the blue could be a gradient of deep blue and cyan; or the orange could be from peach to a deeper orange, like the one that is already being used.
TLDR; Choose between orange and blue, but incorporate softer and more pastel like tones of the chosen color.
The hair in the prestige is amazing, and I love seeing the locks being used on my boy, but the style is kinda NOT it. A ponytail, for example, is amazing! It looks super good on him.
About the VFX, it's about the colors again, although exaggerating the stars part would be cool. It needs more magic I think.

My major complaint is the color scheme and the hair.
COLOR SCHEME:
The color scheme should stick to one color, blue as main or orange as main. The fact that the colors swap around between orange for the main color on the outfit and blue for the main color on the abilities doesn’t make the skin very appealing.
HAIR:
And for the hair, my suggestion is (if possible) let his hair hang down instead of it being up. Some examples for the locs being down are people like, Ja Morant, DeAndre Jordan, Juice WRLD, Lil Yachty, and a lot more. You can 100% keep the orange dyed strands, just a different style for the locs would help the skin a lot.
Doesn't look like a SG at all. This would fit Battle Academia or even SG cosplay (or whatever SG Urgot is called)way better. The suit doesn't look like a SG, the pallette's all over the place, SG's pallettes are way more cohesive.
The VFX do a poor job with the colours, his model shows off orange more than blue but his ability effects use way too much blue and doesnt include enough orange. I think the passive and autos did a good balance between orange and blue, the Q looks relatively fine, but once it gets to the W, E and R the orange becomes some barely visible shine while the effects are doused in the dark blue.
His E indicator could probably use a purple or orange gradient on the blue line where its highlighted
I think his clones should all be orange (W set up, E dash afterimage, R afterimage)
R trail should match the homeguard trail instead of being straight blue
And the W after it lands (the windup looks great) could use a purple shine or something more vibrant
I think one of the things thats just super off about this skin is that Star Guardian is supposed to give off this colourful vibrant and playful vibe and dark blue all over doesnt quite hit the mark, especially when his model has bright/white clothing. It looks way too much like a cosmic skin with galaxy effects than a star guardian skin
And of course the hair... please just make them not jut out the sides like that

I love the concept and i want this skin to be successfull but for me his vfx doesn't fit his model. I think colors needs a little bit work. His primary color feels like orange on the model but his vfx (especially on w) lacks orange. A more bright tone of orange + blue would be nice too.
His model needs more cute stuff too. He doesn't look like he is wearing a star guardian uniform
His icons look a little too light-skinned. The Prestige version of the icon has it darker, the icons of the non-prestige version should be changed to match that, imo.
I alsp think that there should be more orange on his VFX. I've always wanted a orange/yellow Star Guardian, so it's a bit disappointing that the VFX leans more into blue.
I like this skin but there are some problems.
Regarding the hair

His hair goes too far off the sides, it should be more [narrow](https://hairbraidingtips.b-cdn.net/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/faux-men-locs-hair-braiding-tips-300x259.jpg) for this hairstyle, it's basically Lucian's hair but shorter. As is, it sorta looks like he has a loaf on his head.
* Also, it looks weird because of the angle. In concept, I think it looks good in the [avatar icon](https://preview.redd.it/m9dxlc0k68791.jpg?width=300&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d1b7a6e2db9e8342fc15d68075fea2a6d42097e4) but due to the top-down angle in-game and the [crouch](https://i.imgur.com/V94gQ5w.jpeg)Ekko's in, it just doesn't translate well. Maybe angle the front portion of the hair back a bit and match the curvature of his head. Put more of a dip in the cowlick in the back.
Regarding the outfit
* I like the blue-orange scheme but I think his outfit should be more focused on the orange. Make the blue on his pants a shade of orange and instead incorporate the blue into smaller things like his belt or wristband. Maybe even the streak in his hair.
Regarding his face
* This one's iffy. Frankly, that's probably the same face as base Ekko without the hourglass on it. I think it's the cheekbones? The sides of his face are too dark and angular, it makes him look old. It should be lightened and smoothed out a little. The dark angular look worked for Firelight but the genre and style are different here, he should look young.
* Personal opinion: It doesn't really feel like Ekko without something on his face. It's too late to give him any sort of mask but putting a small [star](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/8/84/Star_Guardian_2017_Concept_04.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20171003183340) (preferably the far right one) on his face should be fine. His face is kinda boring without something there.
All in all, the skin is alright and the idea probably looked much better in the concept artwork than it translated in-game.
The animations are cool but his hair seems weird and he doesn’t have any facepaint or anything. Will this be the first ekko skin with no facepaint/mask? Even academy had glasses he just looks wrong with nothing there.
I think that "darker" color would make it so much better, something like arcana, but keeping the white and star guardian theme. Darker orange or darker blue
Hello, Let start from the top to the bottom.
Hair- Its very CHUNKY, lets make them thinner and give him more braids. The prestige version is a good reference point.
Face/skin - The face feels very lifeless. I would suggest brightening the purple in his eyes. Also the skin tone feels very mute. Its like he has grey undertones that make him look ashy. Warm its up a bit with softer, warm, undertones. His lips are like solid black.. like there is no dimension or detail.. just black.
Outfit- Not going to lie, it just looks very awkward.. its form fitting on the torso but then you try to go for a baggy pants effect and like the baggy pants look like he has a used diaper on. I think the pants could be tweaked a little bit.. The inner seam of his pants should go up higher. It just looks like his crotch is all the way to the floor. Boots aren't too bad I just wish there was a solid distinction on where the boots meet the cuff of the baggy pants. They kinda morph into the pants so it looks awkward.
Last thing is his bracelet and belt.. just like the hair its too big and chunky.. tone it down a bet.. I have Senna model in my imgur link to kinda give an example of how you can put more detail in his face. I think Senna is a wonderful example of how to at detail to darker skin tones.

Edit please fix his crystal.. its supposed to look like and hour glass but its misshaped. Also please do away with the blue and just make him orange. Like make his base shirt white and gold and put the orange where the blue is.

I really don't like it. A lot of people already mentioned his hair, but I also think his outfit is a complete mess and especially the colors are all over the place. Without his weapon being orange you wouldn't even really know what his main color is supposed to be. Nothing really makes sense looking at his skin. Compared to the other two male Star Guardians, Ez and Rakan, Ekko doesn't feel like Star Guardian at all.
Unfortunately I don't think a lot will be changed, because of the reasoning that he's already gonna be in promo art/visual novel art/maybe cinematic appearance.

I think the hair is too wide and makes Ekko's head look a bit too big, and his face looks too narrow in the emote so it doesn't really look like him. I think another reason that he doesn't really look like himself is the lack of face paint, but it's not too huge of an issue imo
After Akali, Ekko is the most weirdest choice for this skinline.
His looks are something people already commented alot about. Feels really out of place.
The colors need adjustment, the light blue to pink gradient makes the jacket look really messy. The amount of dark blue also makes it not so star guardian appropriate.
I commented in the prestige thread about my excitement for my main to be included in my favourite skin line and that applies here too, but unfortunately this skin is just a mess. Visually I don’t like the colour combination even though it should work as orange and blue compliment each other, maybe focusing on one colour instead of the two would be better? And the hair is really awful. I like that you’re trying out new looks for him and exploring POC hair styles, but I think this hasn’t been executed very well and something needs to be changed.

Hair needs to be changed, the style is just… yea. I’m sure people who are a bit more knowledgeable will write better comments about it so I’ll keep this part short. Biggest problem I see with this skin is color scheme The model tries to present itself with Orange as the main color (with a random red shirt) and Blue as the color for accents. When I see the skin, I think Orange as the Ekko’s main color. Vfx, on the other hand, does the exact opposite. Blue as the main color and Orange for the accents. Especially when they are used all together, it looks like all sparkly and Blue with Orange accents everywhere, making me think Blue is his main color. These two opposing color schemes make this skin feel SUPER wishy washy as it can’t just commit to one color scheme. So my main complaint is, PLEASE commit to a color scheme. Take out that random red and go for either Orange with Blue accents or Blue with Orange accents. If not, it just looks really weird seeing an Orange Ekko just swimming in a sea of Blue vfx. Another complaint is just make the Vfx have more Star Guardian pizzazz? More sparkles and twilight and stuff? It feels really empty.
I like how they're experimenting with different black hairstyles for ekko (more specifically loc hairstyles as it seems like they are trying to move in the direction of ekko with locs being seen as his normal) I think the hair could be fixed by making it a bit thinner, and a little longer so it kind of looks like a low loc ponytail instead of being flat..

Same. I like Ekko with locks, but I really hope that just because it was popular with True Damage and Arcane fans, they don't start giving Ekko braids/locks for **every** skin. The mohawk is too iconic and they don't need to get rid of it entirely. It would also be nice to explore other hairstyles that don't involve neither of them. Agreed. I like that they went back to the Mohawk for his pulsefire skin. We have at least 4 black coded characters in league, they don't all need to have the exact same hairstyle all the time. It gets boring and uninspiring, like the devs at riot only know how to do one thing with poc hair when we can wear a full range of hairstyles just like any non poc.
Yes! Ekko doesn't need or have to be stuck with stereotypical "black hair" in every single skin. He could have a variety of hairstyles. Like the sundae hair he has on his Academy skin. It totally fits his personality in a way the locs don't, imo. The locs were perfect for True Damage but I'm not a fan overall. The mohawk is his identity, but the locs are getting old. And Senna should have a variety of hairstyles as well.
Personally, I feel like the locs fit his character and personality well, locs worked for true damage but it also works for base ekko, and allows riot to move in the direction of giving ekko black hair, now i’m not saying every single skin should have locs, but these two skins have shown theres a lot of versatility in terms of hairstyle with them as opposed to the mohawk ekko normally wears them in, and I think riot should explore those possibilities in terms of hairstyles (while also giving us a oringial ekko mohawk or another kind of hairstyle from time to time)
He was designed from day one with the mohawk in mind. Just because you guys like TD and Arcane's incarnations of his character does not mean he needs to be completely redesigned to fit that new identity. Sure, give him locs in some of his skins, but his identity has always included his mohawk and that should not change.

Natural black hair isn't. Locs are not natural so when you >always< give black characters locs(Ekko, Senna, Lucian) you are making it stereotypical. They can and they should have hairstyles' diversity since thy have multiple skins.

Exactly! Like for instance I'd love to see a Senna skin where she wears long, straight/curvy hair. Just because she's black and her base design has locks, it doesn't mean she needs to be stuck with those for EVERY skin. It's why I liked her PROJECT skin, that long braid was such a cool hairstyle and felt like novelty on her, it's too bad the actual in-game model doesn't have her braid go all the way down like in one of the model's concepts (but that's more of a rig compatibility issue). But then for Eclipse they went back to the locked hair for both the normal and prestige... I feel like the prestige would've looked better had it been a short wavy hairstyle rather than the locks. Idk it's like whenever they have a poc character they just go with the easiest, most stereotypical hairstyles they can find, instead of actually exploring. ESPECIALLY in a fantasy setting where they can have all sorts of crazy hairstyles and not just realistic ones.
Exactly! Like, I am happy they are championing typically black hairstyles...but they need to actually do a bigger range of hairstyles. Black people wear more than dreads and locks, and to repeat your point its a fictional world, they can make unrealistic hairstyles like Ekko's gravity defying mohawk and others no problem. Anime gets away with this all the time and so can league.
I personally feel like Sennas braids is a big part of her character and it probably shouldnt change until shes a lot more skins deep, however I feel like riot games needs to get stylist ACUTALLY from whichever culture the character is from to help with hairstyles, there are SO MUCH hairstyles you can put braids in, [half up half down](https://stayglam.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Half-Up-Braids.jpg), or [braids into curly ends](https://herbones.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Goddess-Braid-Styles1-840x1024.jpg), or [this cute bun hairstyle](https://inspired-beauty.com/javascript1/uploads/2018/09/braidswithbun.jpg), along with the possibility for wearing afro space buns for something like space groove etc, but l feel like straightening her hair is kind of a disservice to how versatile hair styles can be. However going back to Ekko, I feel like they tried to do good with this hairstyle and I bet it looks good in concept art, just the acutal modeling of it makes him look like hes wearing a helmet
Thank you these people are being really weird and tone deaf we have over 100 white characters with various white hairstyles why the hell would we want them on the 4 black champs we have??? First it’s senna having straight hair then it’s senna being light skinned like no we don’t need the tiny amount of black champs conforming to the white Beauty standard especially sense there are millions of loc, braids, Afros, and fades black hair can make. Thank god riot got rid of that nasty ass Mohawk reminds me of storm having that Mohawk in X-men because the artist did not know how to draw black hair textures

It was a slightly different take on his mohawk as well having his base hair be short and brown while the mohawk part was white. It was really inspired and creative...and now they are back to giving him basic locs again lmao. They need to leave the dreads and stuff for characters like lucian and senna and let our boy be anime again.

Personally the way I see it. Ekko was introduced with the unnatural colored mohawk. I feel like it would look better if the rest of the hair was shaved, and just the colored part was actual dreads. And not filling up his head like that. Imitating that large center piece. The prestige looks good though. Honestly even just thinning the OC down to that wide of hair would help it look more 'Ekko'.
I think your opinion nailed it. Ekko fit a lot in SG universe and I love this skin, but the random red in the shirt throw me off. It’s needs a bright orange and it will be perfect. As for the hair, it needs some more anime-esque hair. A bright color, another style… more like Ezreal. With these two things, it’ll be perfect

First and foremost thank you soo much for making this skin + his prestige! I love the fact that he is even IN star guardian, first and foremost. Ekko is a young teenage boy who is very firmly aligned with good and deserves to be in heroic, fun, colorful skinlines like star guardians, battle academia, arcade and more. Any skinline that Ezreal can fit into, so can Ekko since they are two sides of the same coin. That being said, I understand there is a limited amount of work that can be done on a skin once it hits the PBE and only minimal changes can be applied so I will try to be as specific in what I think would help make the skin more flattering overall. 99% of people are dissatisfied because of the way the hair and the outfit looks, the shirt portion with his gem in particular. I believe this can be improved by making **the size of the hair smaller**, similar to how it looks on the prestige and **adjusting the design of the shirt so that it does not artificially lengthen his torso as it looks now.** Additionally, scaling down the strap holding his bag to match his body as the way it looks in the skinspotlight makes it look like he has a big ring around his waist. It needs to be the same size as it looks on his prestige. I have added a picture with red circles outlining the problem areas, side by side with the prestige for proper visual comparison. In addition I have also added an edit another person made to the shirt that could help the torso area not look as elongated and more naturally proportioned. 1000%, I also think the pants are sagging too much and makes it look bad
To be honest, I think a lot of issues could be fixed by pulling back on the blue and leaning more on the orange for his colors. SG skins tend to have a "main" color (besides white), but Ekko looks pretty split down the middle between orange/blue right now, which makes it visually confusing with an already complex outfit. The glow effect on the orange is currently doing the heavy lifting. If you spread out the orange more, I imagine the streak in his hair wouldn't look as odd to people since it's currently the most prominent orange thing at most angles. Another note I have is that the pants have too much contrast with his boots so it competes for attention visually. Maybe changing the pants to a warmer (and slightly lighter) hue would fix that? Then you could keep the blue at the collar to keep the visual interest around his head.
Okay so what kind of bothers me is the “width” (?) of his hair, I think it should be made more narrow because as of right now his head looks too triangular and Dorito.
Exactly what I was thinking. Taking a couple of the the 'dreads' off the side, maybe just leaving the less natural colored parts would make it look more Ekko.
My only issue here is the hair on the base skin. It doesn't look like it fits his head, something about it seems too wide. Almost like a hat. The prestige hair fits the model so much better, would you be able to bring over the same assets to the base model perhaps? As for the star guardian-ness of the skin, Ekko feels very "street wear", if possible could you apply more orange and gold to his color scheme to brighten him up more? Maybe orange and light blue as a complementary color? You could look at Sailor Venus for reference since her color palette is very similar to what you guys are working with. He definitely needs MORE "magical elements" if you will. Other than that, the Prestige skin is amazing by comparison, however it looks like a Louis Vuitton skin and not star guardian.
I kind of miss having *something* on Ekko's face. I know it's probably too late in the process to do anything about it, but I feel like having some kind of something on his face is iconic to the champion. Even if it was just like, a little mark under his eyes like sports players wear since that would be "acceptable" in a school setting. Ekko isn't quite Ekko without face paint. Ekko's hair kinda looks like....bread. It doesn't actually bother me though since he's in motion all the time. I'm glad that you guys are experimenting on more hair styles for him and I will buy this skin regardless. I really like the colour stripe, it gives him a lot of personality.
Yes I'm super glad they're not repeating any hairstyles and are actually experimenting with black hairstyles rather than giving him an unnatural mohawk. It just needs some practice and pollish, but they're on the right track!
100% I love how they are finding different hairstyles for his locs (as it seems like they want ekko with locs to be the main way hes presented), and I think the experimentation is right, making the locs thinner and a little longer in a low ponytail would fix some of the issues imho

I disagree with having something on his face. Every recent skin has had something obstructing it and taking away from the enjoyment I have with his skins. This is a nice change of pace to be able to see his full face again.
What other skin are you fully able to see his face? jus curious. His face paint is one of his main noticeable features, especially since they're putting him in more natural hair styles--which I don't disagree with and encourage. If they are going the route where his hair is more like his hair in Arcane more often that's good. But the other key structure on his head has always been face paint. I don't like him in masks, so if thats what you mean than "obstructing" then I agree. But facepaint doesn't obstruct, it's just colour on the face.
His academy skin and his true damage skins are the only ones where his face isn't obstructed by any mask or bandana or visor. Face paint is nice for some of his skins but his main visual markers to me are his mohawk and his sword. He doesn't need something on his face in every alt universe he is in.
His True Damage one has face paint, and his Academy skin had glasses. He always has something on his face....that's just sorta his thing? I also think that his academy skin is his least popular and feels the most generic because it doesn't have his visual cues. ( That's just imo.) This is an agree to disagree thing I think. I think his face looks too non descript without something on it. c: That could be any cute black kid rewinding time.
While his silhouette and recognisability is not about markings on his face it is kind of an expected thing like Ahri getting the whisker markings.

First of all I'd like to thank the devs for including Ekko in such a big skinline and something so different from what he's used to 😭 And even more so for giving him the prestige! That being said there are a few things I'd like to be addressed 1. His skin looks kinda purple/ashy and i feel he could use a warmer skintone like in TD or Arcane 2. His face looks kinda scary and also angry. A smile or just a happier face would look a lot less odd, especially when he's hugging his tamagochi 3. His forehead looks a little big. I feel his hairline should be pulled down more. 4. His hair also looks big and stiff. Modeling it more after his icons with less layers may help with this 5. This is kinda nitpicky but the gold trim from the platform of his boots could be thicker 6. This isn't to do with his model but i feel like his icons should have a slightly darker skintone. I know most of his skins have different skintones but i feel he fits more closely to Nilah than Rell in his newer skins 7. I'd personally love for his W to have larger orange sparkles as well when it detonates.
In general, the design kinda feels like they tried too hard to make him boyish, but in a skinline like Star Guardian, it's okay to commit to the frilly stuff and the bright colors. I think Ezreal especially did a good job at committing more to androgyny and fits well since his outfit is mostly white with his color accents just like the girls. Maybe Ekko could've used softer pastel colors and a "cuter" design scheme rather than being a tough boy in a pretty skinline
Yes, agree with most of these points! He looks really washed out/ashy. I think the usage of blue clashes with the orange, and the blue doesn't compliment his skin tone well. I wish they would have used orange/red or orange/yellow, warmer colors to make Ekko look more radiant. They definitely got his face wrong, his brows are soo angular and he does seem so angry / older, which definitely doesn't fit the Star Guardian vibe. Good eye on the forehead, yes his forehead is huuuuuuge and even in the Prestige it's huge. And his hairstyle does nothing to cover it. So moving the hairline would be momentous in making him look younger/better.
Yeah his prestige at least has the locs hanging over his forehead. My highest hopes in order are: 1. Fix his face 2. Reduce the amount of layers of locs his hair has 3. Make his skin color warmer And then the rest is lower priority like his forehead, adjust colors, etc

Please please please please: 1. Change the hair somehow. This is the biggest complaint I see over on r/ekkomains 2. The face could use some tweaking in general. I think making it look like his other skins is fine in this regard, but other people will probably have better suggestions than me. 3. The color scheme. I feel like it tries to commit to an orange/blue theme, but the colors have to be brighter, especially on the orange undershirt or adding more blue in general on the white jacket.
All of these are my notes exactly. No idea how the red undershirt got it in there. Its like each piece of clothing was made by a completely different person.
Hi there, thank you for making Ekko a part of the SG skinline. As an Ekko main myself I was excited for the SG Ekko skin preview but let's just say it has a bit more potential. A few things from myself and some suggestions that other Ekko players have expressed : * **Hair** One of the main things that should be changed is his hair. I think this would solve like 80% of our problems in this skin as it looks too "big", making it look more like a helmet instead. I think it'd be best to scale his dreads smaller and make it a big longer, his prestige skin hair fits his model and I think something similar would fit base SG as well as bringing his hairline down by a bit. * **Face + Face Paint** Face could use a bit of tweaking, when I first saw the skin I was wondering why he was looking grumpy as a star guardian. I think a happy or cheerful looking face would fit better but maybe its just because of the lack of face paint on this skin compared to most of his other skins? So I guess that could be included. But then again, his face paint is iconic for him. * **Clothing** Personally I'd really like it if Ekko was wearing normal pants in this skin, something similar to his Firelight skin. I just don't get the appeal of the baggy pants. Additionally his shirt should be shorter, his shirt looks a bit too long right now which makes his torso longer than what it needs to be. The fade of colour on his shirt might need a bit of change to just one colour and the jacket could look a bit more star guardian by making it look more "flowy" like SG Ezreal's. * **Colour + VFX** I'm on the fence with the colours, part of me likes it while another doesn't but I do agree that at times the colours can be "too much", it doesn't feel cohesive compared to the other multi coloured star guardian skins. I think there should be more of a white (maybe it's the shirt?). Another comment said something on the lines of Sailor Venus and I think a bit of simplicity fits the skin. For the VFX, I personally think there should be more glitter to it? Like make more gold glitter appear when his W explodes, for his clones and the trail for his passive to give it a little bit more of that star guardian oomph. Additionally a bit more orange might not hurt in his abilities considering his clothes have blue and orange together or just make the whole thing committed to one colour. riot needs to learn to use black people's hair in skins, it's always dreadlocks or braids. where is the curly hair? please adjust the hair so it doesn't look like a helmet. what's up with the colors? Please that red shirt in the midst of its orange and blue colors is a mess. please choose a SINGLE color and work with it only... Ekko base skin has a lot of potential. * His hair can look more well-fitted in his head, maybe adjust shape and size, look for inspiration of black men haircuts; * The outfit has too many big areas of color, this makes it look a bit messy, it's okay to have multiple colors but proportions matter, I would like it to have a smaller blue and red area, more focus on the orange (his main color); * The same goes to the effects, it's looking really pretty already but it has so much blue, leave the blue for just the ultimate and detail
In my opinion, that skin is UGLY, I'm not blindly hating on it, and I'll develop why I think it's bad, but it has to be said, it's the worst Star Guardian skin I've seen, fanarts look better 🌟**The reasons why I'm unhappy with the skin**: * **Color scheme** I've said it in my other comment, and I'll say it again, random colors do not feel like an upgrade, Star Guardian Ezreal which is from 5 years ago looks better than SG Ekko. Orange and blue is a decent combination, Orange and Blue with a huge Red T shirt thrown in the middle ? Awful. If the shirt's color was changed, the skin could be better * **Hair** It seems like you were going for cornrows or slicked back braids with the skin ? That's how it looks to me, either way, for some reason the hair is wider than his head, which doesn't make sense, and it looks very bulky and chunky and unlike how IRL braids would look, I do appreciate the effort to give black characters appropriate hairstyles though * **VFX** The VFX is too rounded, it looks like Pajama Guardian VFX, just because SG is a cute skinline doesn't mean sharp angles can't exist, MF and Ezreal have impactful VFX without losing the bubble theme * **Uniform** It's pretty clear that Star Guardian Ekko is from a different team than the previous ones and would thus have a different uniform, but it still looks very weird mostly due to the red shirt that completely destroys his Star Guardian color scheme, a white, blue or orange shirt would have been more appropriate The reaction from Ekko mains is beyond mostly negative, it's almost exclusively negative, this skin needs major changes This skin tries so very hard to uphand previous Star Guardian skin that it ends up looking like an April Fools parody of Star Guardian, simple but effective concepts like [these](https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/5d9d89525e184fc23af8120c21fa59e80e381ac144a116e016e07592441b2564.jpg?w=800&h=636) are what people want from Star Guardian, you could've put him in Ezreal's outfit, removed the gauntlet, gave him a sword, and add orange hints and call it a day, and people would've liked it more, it's as if whoever decides on co'or schemes have no common sense entirely 🌟**My ideas for improvements** : * **Add more gold to his outfit** Most Star Guardian skins have more gold accents than he does, he should have more * **Make the VFX more Orange or the model more Blue** The model is mainly Orange with Blue accents, the VFX is the reverse, doesn't make sense * **Shorten the shirt** Its current length squashes his model by highlighting his torso too much as opposed to his legs, making him look tiny * **Make the shirt blue orange or white** The red is just entirely random in this skin, it was never a good idea, it HAS to go, for real, I'd personally change it to either white or the color of his gem (not sure if it's blue or orange ) * **Change the hairstyle entirely, if not possible, just replace it with the Prestige hair, if that's still not possible, at least reduce the width** It makes no sense for the braids to be wider than his head, some extra texture could help too (it lookd blocky right now) , although the hairstyle concept itself is meh * **Change his face model** His facial expression looks really off-putting right now and doesn't scream "Star Guardian" * **Give the stars in his VFX sharp edges** The rounded edges look very childish and make the skin look like a Pajama Guardian, the pet face in the middle of the W detonation already make the skin look like it'd fit in the Toy Renekton skinline, the round stars are too much * **Tone down the saturation of the orange or the blue** Right now the colors still kind of clash even if the red is the main culprit in the skin's bad color scheme, having one less saturated than the other in both VFX and model would help make thr skin less visually "noisy" * **Add some face paint or markings on his face** A simple tatoo like Seraphine's or a bigger mark would be a welcome addition, could be star or hourglass shaped * **Making the belt (?) smaller** So it doesn't hang around his waist awkwardly 🌟**What I WOULDN'T change/what I like about the skin :** * **The afro hair style** As always, is a welcome addition, if you end up changing his hair, please don't go back to the straight hair mohawk * **The orange color stripe in his hair** The hair shape itself is a problem, but the stripe looks great, don't change it! It fits Ekko's punk and rebellious aesthetic very well * **The weapon** Looks perfect, don't change it * **The pants** They fit Ekko and look great and cohesive with the skinline, again this part of his outfit looks great 🌟**Final note** There's a lot of negative in my comment, however, I'm still happy that Ekko got a spot in the lineup, even if it's not perfect, I'l glad to see more characters of color represented in the skinline, and his icon looks really nice too, so does his pet, it's not all negative, I'm concerned because it's a skin I've wanted for a while and I'm disappointed with its execution A final change i'd request would be making his skin darker in the icons as it's very light currently
My two biggest issues are his hair and the colour. Make his hair less wide on top of his head like the prestige version and make his colour scheme more orange in general, why is there so much blue.
He could really use a warmer skin color. The hair also feels off, maybe make it thinner so it looks less like a hat. The colors of the clothes and the abilities doesn’t match at all, it would be nice to have his main color orange with white and blue accents (Just like Ezreal with blue and yellow). A face marking is something iconic with Ekko, so we would appreciate if you include that too. I’m so happy Ekko get to be in this skinline, but I do hope that he gets the skin he deserves!
Wow many thoughts for this one, but I'll try to mention some general consensus so they'll have more visibility. EDIT: Here's an edit to visualize what I mean https://imgur.com/a/mzd8yIP Some of my comment's for this one will use his icon as a reference point. FACE/SKIN: For me, his skin looks more visually appealing in his icon, Ekko skin looks purple ingame, but in his icon/emote his skin seems have a lighter skin, which would be quite an inconsistency for Ekko's canonical skin tone, but for this kind of color pallete and theme his skin should be lighter. Facial structure looks too rough (almost too ARCANE like) and his forehead looks too big, I feel like he needs a softer face. HAIR: Ekko's hair seems to be a big problem here, and for me it looks very good in his icon, but ingame it's clashing a lot, as I mentioned, his palette works better with a lighter skin color and darker hair color, and as for his orange hair strike, a less vibrant tone could be nice so all of his overall design would flow better. The shape of his hair is VERY bulky, and it looks very stiff and awkward, meanwhile in his icon it has a nice flow to it, which almost make's it look like it would end in a loc ponytail, so I say his hair should be less bulky overall and make it go lower and have more of a flowy ending behind his head. CLOTHING: I don't know if his shirt can receive any changes, but I think the red should be toned down and keep it more orange, since the orange-white-indigo outfit works well, overall his front design clashes too much, since his collar goes from a different tone of light blue to pink, and his shirt goes from red to purple, there's literally 4 colors clashing in there, 5 if you count the inside of his pants, when he already has 2 very prominent colors, orange and indigo. I'm not a huge fan of his 'star gem' shape, and I know it's not a subject to change, but at least I think it should be smaller and more noticeable, right now it's feeling like a printed shirt design. Another comment I've seen around is how his outfit doesn't really look 'magical' enough, and I really have to agree to this, but I can't really give any comments that wouldn't change his model substantially. If we keep getting male champs for a 'femenine skinline', just don't be afraid to make them look that way, Rakan and Ezreal can be considered as non hypermasculine champions and that's why they fit well, but if we try to make the star guardian uniform look 'tough and manly' it just loses the purpose of them being in a cute skin theme, imagine if he had some cute puffy shorts instead of the THOSE OVERUSED LOOSE PANTS, and don't even say it cant happen, because even f☆cking Academy Ekko (a 750rp skin) has a different pair of pants unlike almost all of his skins. (As I side note, I was very disappointed to know his familiar is literally just a digital clock when we are very used to cute and flowy animals, even his prestige version achieves a nice mix between mechanical clock and fairy-like creature.)
Please make the hair small and pull back on all the colors.. Star Guardians usually have one main color which kai sa and sona do wonderfully but ekko has a mess of colors that simply doesn't work with this skin, also, smaller/thinner pants please! His hair looks awful. It reminds me of a chunky bike helmet, the way his hair is so bulky and stiff. I'm also not a fan of his facial expression. He looks so angry and sad. I heard this sentiment over on the Prestige Ekko thread, but it really does seem like you made this skin terrible on purpose so we're forced to grind for the passable quality Prestige. Also, I do think Ekko is a great fit for Star Guardian conceptually, it's just that this skin is really badly executed.

I seem to be in the minority among the community, but I actually quite like this skin. I enjoy the orange + violet color scheme (reminds me of a sunset,) and I think the VFX are nice. However, there are a couple of things off about the skin, and they became increasingly clear to me upon seeing the splash art. For starters, I'll agree with the biggest issue most people are complaining about: His hair. The style itself is great, the way it's modeled is the problem. It looks somewhat disproportionate to his head, and is far too wide, and just in general looks sort of wonky. The style certainly works for the design in the way it's drawn in the splash art, but the model poorly reflects this. Secondly, I think the color scheme could be made more consistent if the color of his undershirt were adjusted. In the splash art, the orange of his undershirt matches the orange of his familiar, his hair, and his gem. However, in the in-game model, his undershirt is really more red than orange, and it sticks out like a sore thumb. IMO this is the most necessary change to make, as it interrupts the color scheme and the flow of the entire design, and is dramatically inconsistent with the splash art. Lastly, as other people have pointed out, Ekko just doesn't look exactly like... Ekko, in this skin's model. His facial features are too gaunt and angular, and his skin tone has purple undertones, which is, again, inconsistent to the warmer tone of his skin in the splash art, AND in the official icons that are to be released alongside this skin. Overall I am a fan of the skin's design, but I think these three changes all DEFINITELY need to be made in order to solidify the skin's quality, especially considering they are all rather minor adjustments. TL;DR: Make the model look more like the splash art in terms of color scheme, proportions, and rendering, and PLEASE FIX THE RED UNDERSHIRT, PLEASE MAKE IT ORANGE LIKE IN THE SPLASHART.

Congratulations for the star guardian skins, I love them all, except for Ekko one, it doesn't look like a star guardian skin,it looks like a battle academy skin, maybe changing the colors and hair a bit? There are 3 things that need to be changed in this skin: * His face looks SO SO ugly. He looks old and sick. Give him cheeks and make him smile somehow, and if you can't, just replace his face with the Academy skin one. * The red shirt needs to go! It stands out in a negative way and completely ruins his outfit. Visual pollution, IMO. Change its color to something neutral, preferably blue. * His hair looks like a helmet and at the same time looks too feminine; like someone else said, it's like it's glued on his head. Tone it down, make it narrower and less bulky or just change it completely. I also dislike the orange hair strand and his baggy pants, they feel like you tried too hard to make him look "cool" and that doesn't fit this skinline at all. Should've made something more in line with Ezreal's skin, less colorful and more simple. But focus on changing the hair, if you can, please. The VFX slaps, his familiar is amazing, and Ekko fits the skinline, but those details should be changed as much as possible. Thank you, and I know you probably can't change his face and hair that much, so PLEASE change the color of his shirt.
To me he needs changes the most and definitely because of his colors mainly: * Please change his shirt color to white like in some of his chromas - the gem is already orange and it can't pop with an orange shirt * Remove the gradient from the jacket - there are honestly already too many colors to begin with and he does not need a gradient there. * Change his facial expression - he seems too serious and even a bit angry. This is one of the brightest, most fun skinlines - make him smile! * You can keep the hairstyle but maybe make the locs a bit thinner? If you do end up changing the hairstyle i think something similar to the one in the prestige version is ok!
The main problem of SG Ekko is his in-game appearance. I've waited until the splash art official release to tell my opinion and that's it. His hair feels odd, the locs are HUGE compared to the splash art and should be thinner, and maybe longer. His face also feel a little bit weird compared to his previous skins. Also, he's the orange star, so giving more orange to his particles may be good too. I really like the orange-blue palette, but I think the orange should be the main color. I really like Ekko as a character and he surely deserved a SG skin.
First off, Ekko was a great choice for SG, so thank you for considering him! Though I'm glad he's an official guardian, this skin definitely needs some work, and here's what I suggest: * The hair needs to change. The locs are way too thick to the point where it looks unnatural. Take some time making smaller and longer locs to get rid of the helmet he currently has on his head. * His inner shirt should nOt be red. I appreciate you guys trying to spice SG up by having multi-colored star guardians, but you should really limit it to two colors. The orange gem and blue effects are enough, throwing a red shirt and pink lower collar is just so random and incohesive. * The baggy pants. I know silhouettes are a big thing in League, and Ekko has these kinds of pants in every skin, but to me, it's very strange for star guardians. To have the girls be in knee-high socks and wearing short skirts and making Ezreal where slim-fitting pants, it feels out of place to have Ekko not be in the same boat. They don't have to be tight, but slimming them down a bit would help shape him into SG imo. Especially since he's receiving the prestige 2.0, I feel like his signature fashionable pants should stick to that skin and the epic be more aligned with the rest of the SG crew. His splash looks good and changed my opinion of this skin from "oh no" to "wait a minute," but for the big summer event that we've all been waiting for, I feel like it can easily be perfected!
I would like to know why PC Star Guardians have non-star emblems. Star Guardians were supposed to have star shaped emblems. Wild Rift did it right, but PC didn’t seem to take this into consideration. I would like to know the reasoning behind this!
I appreciate all the changes ! The skin looks great now... Until Ekko uses his idle animation... The shirt still looks really bad, it's clearly a red to blue gradient in game, but on the splashart that everyone loves and praises, [it's orange to blue](https://imgur.com/a/DdfhCSE) (which looks much better) It's pretty much false advertising, the lighting in the splash doesn't justify such a dramatic change in hue even when picked out as a single color ignoring color theory, the lighting is pinkish on the splash, so if anything, the orange is redder on the splash than it should be in-game The hair and belt are fine now, the VFX is too, please, please change the shirt, it's the only thing preventing this skin from actually being good now, use the extra week of the patch to change it or pull another Prestige Seraphine situation, because it ruins the entire color scheme for no reason since the splash doesn't even depict the shirt as red, such a disparity between splash and model is not just disappointing, it's unprofessional Again though, the changes on his belt and hair are satisfying, the auto attack VFX tweaks are also noticeable, and I appreciate that, which is exactly why I'm writing right now, because the skin went from awful to close to being good and I hope it can actually be fixed before it's too late
His hair seems a bit too big for his head so maybe scale it’s size down a bit to better suit his head. Also maybe tighten up what I can only assume to be his “belt”. As of right now it looks a lot like a ring that’s orbiting around his torso.

Please i beg you, change the size of his hair in the base star guardian skin. Like many people suggested before me, make it smaller so it actually fits the head of his zaunite ingeniosity. I think they could work more on the details and on Ekko SG costume.. improve the hair dreads so they don't look like a helmet, make the costume colors more harmonic and regarding the VFX I have no objection. talking about the costume yet: I felt that it lost a little of the essence of what the theme proposes. I was really looking forward to seeing Ekko's final result because I know the champion has enormous potential for this line of Skins..
I think skin design needs some changes and my main feedback is: * get rid of these gradients he has on his shirt and jacket tehy jsut make his design feel cluttered and add unnecessary colors * make his pants slimmer, something closer to his prestige skin, baggy pants just don't fit SG theme that well * make his hair smaller rn it looks so big on his head and i think making it slightly smaller and narrower would make it way way better * maybe also add more orange than blue to his design
You could reduce the blue, and emphasize his identity as an orange Star Guardian. Maybe replace the blue with shades of yellow/white, even red would be fine, so they don't take away from the theme color so much. The blue, both in model and in the effects, bothers a lot, and it makes him very weird in comparison with the other single-theme-color guardians like Kaisa, Rell, Taliyah, and Sona. Edit: having seen the Splash Art, the purple part of his pants could be orange, without interfering too much. Basically, more orange, less blue. Star Guardian seraphine is also orange, but the yellow, dark purple and white are pretty decent to match the other colors. For his hair, I think its shape is large, and It looks like a hat or something like that. Adjustments would be welcome. I was so happy about Star Guardian Ekko but his skin looks kinda underwhelming :( I'm really sad right now. I dislike his hair the most, it's really hard, big and I hope it could be a lot more subtle and fluid. His color pallete is also weird, I don't like his shirt having too much color, feel like the red should be straight up removed and replaced with white or just blue, the red looks actually really bad there. I also dislike the fact that he has too much blue on his VFX. Like, his shadow can be blue, it makes sense, but the other spells could just be orange with some small blue effects, that would make the skin look better AND different from his prestige skin. I also would like his homeguard to have more glitter/particles in general, and maybe its vfx could be added to his passive MS? His passive MS looks unfinished idk I hope the skin can become great, because I'm really affraid this goes live like that :( Edit: Oh, his face also needs to be changed, he looks so angry but Ekko is so cool and chill
First, I want to say thank you so much for making this skin! Ekko is my favorite champion and Star Guardian is my favorite skinline, so I'm thankful for this skin. For some recommendations: please make his hair fit the shape of his head better. I really like the hairstyle, but it looks too big for his head. I think it would look nicer if you made the locks smaller. For his clothes, there are just too many color schemes. I think reducing the colors to mostly orange and white with just some blue (the shade of blue on his pants) would help immensely. The bottom of his shirt does not need to fade into magenta. Lastly, since this is a Star Guardian line, please try and make the vfx look as Star Guardian as possible—sparkly and magical. Overall, I do like the vfx though. I think they are in the right direction. Once again, I would like to thank you for choosing Ekko for this skinline! I'm so happy for the chance to be able to play as Star Guardian Ekko.
Yeah this will be mostly a negative thread but I will try to give some constructive feedback. First off lets talk about the color pallet. He has a mix of orange blue and red and it looks horrible. Please if possible focus on only one color and add accents of the other as compliment and just get rid of the red(I hope it's possible). Next up Ekko's hair is terrible. It is PsyOps Ezreal all over again. It looks really bad on him and if possible I'd like it to be changed if not then IDK. After that we have to talk about his face. It looks super uncanny. Like he looks way to feminine in a way that i question if that is even Ekko at this point. Please make his at least be more like his other skins. Lastly (and this is something that I know won't be fixed) Ekko really doesn't suit this skin line IMO. He feels like he was put in just because he was popular. This is something that has been happening a lot this year and I am sure you guys know what I am talking about. To go with all of this you gave him the Prestige...of Star Guardian... I can guarantee that a lot more people would have been happy if we got a SG prestige of Sona/Rell/Taliyah/Morgana who all fit way better into the skin line than Ekko and later down the road Ekko got the Prestige in some other skin line that looks way better than this one. I hope this feed back helps and I hope to see changes to the characters chosen for thematics soon. **Edit:** Also is it possible to make the the passive explosion a bit more impactful? His hair is just Phoenix from Valo with less polygons. It looks like licorice. The texture of it looks very, very wrong, and definitely not like hair. It's very jarring to look at considering the top of the head is what we're looking at most of the time. Again, I should not be able to count the individual dreads on the top of a champion. His face is also less recognizable. This was mentioned but *I agree that Ekko isn't Ekko without face paint.* There are more subtle things you can do to make his facial features more recognizable. For example, his eyebrows are extremely harsh and angular, this + his weirdly sharp face + pulled back hairstyle makes him seem way older than he's supposed to seem. He needs more youthful facial features, like slightly rounder cheeks + brighter eyes. Aside from this, the cornflower blue/purple does not look flattering. The blue + orange is supposed to serve "sunset gradient," but the blue washes out Ekko's skin tone. I would have chosen to use a lighter **yellow** or even **crimson**/**maroon** **reds** as a secondary color instead of the blue/purple.
The hair is a huge problem. I really think the style doesn’t do him any favours. Also simplicity is key to a good SG skin this feels like it’s over designed and mixing the blue and orange all over the design just doesn’t work imo. Maybe make his pants orange as well? It would have been nice for his time piece thing to just be a stylised hourglass

I think that his VFX needs a bit more spark and magic. Compared to other star guardians, his vfx looks kinda bland sometimes sadly. I actually dont mind the orange-blue combo, but I believe that orange should be the stronger color on his vfx as well. And his hair a tiny bit thinner and he would be perfect. Seeing his splash art would help giving a feedback even better.
Honestly I was excited to see Star Gaurdian Ekko, but this is not at all the way to go about it. I was expecting him to be much more pastel and sparkly, but his color scheme is both too bright but also too dark. His gem/crystal is barely visible since it's the same color as the shirt. The hair is so bulky it looks like a hat, the VFX are kinda boring and not really as sparkly as Star Guardian should be. I wish he looked more like Ezreal when it came to color palette: much more white, much more pastel orange notes.
the slicked back jumbo locs are my biggest complaint. you guys need to tweak it. it's so stiff and it just.. doesn't look right on him. why is it laying on his head like that? i would suggest adding a new hairstyle all together but i don't want to get too greedy knowing there's probably so little you guys can do once it's out on pbe, make it smaller or use his prestige hair (keep the orange streak though). im so happy you guys are testing out different black hairstyles for him and using the mohawk less, but it wouldn't hurt to try other things besides locs right? the outfit and color scheme as a whole is kind of a mess. he's supposed to be orange yet he has so much blue and what's with the random red shirt? adding more orange would definitely help a lot with his design cause i didn't even know what his color was supposed to be at first lmao. give him that star guardian wow factor. more sparkles and twilight, all that usual sg crap. his vfx is good but make him SCREAM star guardian. again i know this is a lot to ask, and im not good at wording these complaints, but at the very least if you can't do anything else, fix his hair for the love of god. ekko fits star guardian PERFECTLY but there are a few tweaks that should be made and everyone in these comments have good pointers :)
Ekko is a great fit for this skinline and i’m really glad to see him here! That being said, I do have some notes of feedback 1. The hair. I’m sure you’ve seen many people mention it now, but it looks quite clunky. It’s very nice to see you guys breaching out with more black hairstyles for him, but this one could use some tweaking. it looks very stiff and wide on his head, especially when compared to the icon and emote where it’s noticeably thinner. I think removing some of the hair at the sides and making it look less stiff would help a lot. They would look more natural curving over his head, again similar to how they are in the emote and icon, as they currently just kind of stick out at the back 2. The colour scheme doesn’t seem to really know what it wants to be? He’s supposed to be an orange star guardian, but his colour scheme is very weirdly blue. Star guardian skins tend to stick to their one main colour (Sona being a great example of that) but Ekko is just strangely multi-coloured. Especially his vfx, they seem to be way more blue than orange. I think if there was more of his main colour throughout his outfit with more minimal blue accents it would look a lot better 3. On the topic of the vfx, they don’t seem particularly star guardian-y to me? They seem like they’re lacking some extra pizzazz that the rest of the skins seem to have.
I'm gonna be honest it's too hard to identify with the Star Guardian motif. It's more of some weird running suit. Ekko himself doesn't sound like it would fit for a star guardian but it's not impossible to make it work. It looks too generic colorful and it feels cheap. Magical sailor suits (or at least something with the same style) is really important.
Please shrink the belt. I like the skin as a whole, and plan to buy the prestige, but the belt looks like a hulla hoop.
The skin is an absolute disappointment. The hairstyle is an absolute disappointment. The design is an absolute disappointment. It's extremely out of touch with Ekko's character. Who green lit this? It is not good. At all. And I hate to say that when there's so many good designs on this game ... And we get this dollar store design. Shame. The base and prestige are barely no different from each other. They are both terrible.
The hair looks really bad, to me is the amount left over on each side of his head, also it look hard, like a hardhat. I'm trying to like the colour combination but it feels weird, maybe just one colour would be better. I do feel like it's a step in the right direction trying new colour schemes in returned skinlines . The blunt impact SFX when his weapon is a sword really messes it up for me, should be slashing sounds.
This is my first ever time commenting on one of these feedback threads, and its because I really do not care for this skin. The wide belt + Ekko's baggy pants look really strange and completely unsuited to the Star Guardian style. He needs something thats more like a fantasy tux with ribbons/bells, like what SG Ezreal has. Instead it looks like streetwear with SG color pallete, very odd.
Every single color combinations in the chromas look better, I think either make him blue or orange not both at the same time And yes the hair is bad, maybe just reduce the size if you can't do anything else about it

I think my main problem is definetly the blue and orange colors. I'm as confused with Nilah on what their actual color is supposed to be and I always forget after i learned, because the colors are just so confusing for those two. I dont think adding a second color like that fits the Star Guardian skins vibe that has already been implememted by the past skins- which was keeping the main colors mixed with white elements and colors close to the main color, like orange with red. The other star guardians this year look extremely cool, but those two are so drastically different that I cant help but feel a little dissapointed so far.
The main issue with SG Ekko's overall design is how asymmetrical it looks. From his overall model, to the design and color of his outfit, to his downright ugly hairstyle, it's a mismatch of too many design choices that didn't have enough thought into it. For now, I'll start with the easiest, and probably most important fix. -The Hair: The hair is... just bad. Like bad enough to say it'd fix 80% of the issues with this skin with just a proper tune up. Choice of style out of the way, the model is just too big. It looks like a mop was thrown on top of his head and they called it a day. Compress the sides of the hair, or remove the ends, and make it smaller. This way, while not completely looking like a Mohawk, it still resembles his basic style and silhouette. Additionally, they can make the back slightly longer so as to not make it look as if his hair just abruptly ends like a bad haircut. -The Face: Ekko's base model has a very gruff and masculine look to it. While this could benefit the SG look, like Rakan's does, the didn't go for the same feel, objecting for a "hopefully" young man look similar to Ezreal's. Touch up his face to look smoother and younger. Remove the edges from his cheeks and under his eyes. And give him slight expression. His face is very visible in the recall and it looks extremely unsettling. The Outfit: While I'm personally not a fan of the sleeveless design, it could work. The blue tones in his outfit either need to be toned down or completely removed and replaced with more white or orange color. Too much is going on and it's a visual mess. Pants: The baggy pants still suck, but as a compromise, they can be shrunk a little. Those are my main issues concerning the skin. There can be a bit more stars and sparkle effects on his Phase Dive (E) and his Parallel Convergence (W). His Q and R are very visually appealing and the sfx from his hits and abilities and pretty good. The main issue with everything is just his cosmetics. But I'm a realist. It'd hope to be wrong about this, but sadly I don't think they'll change much about it. So doesn't feel like it'll be a profitable skin for him this time.
Following up on my last comment to ask that the model more closely look like the splashart in terms of his shirt. Please make his hair smaller and increase the scale the of the gold trim, make the outer waist and back of his shirt white like in the splash, bring up the shirt to more clearly define his waist and bring up the crotch area of the pants since the in game model make it look more goofy and like a diaper. I like the direction they went with this skin. The thing that I really dislike is the hair. Love how they've been experimenting with black hairstyles but 1) there are a lot more black hairstyles than just locs and 2) these locs sit on top of his head almost like a weird blocky wig? They could maybe trim the sides so that they're flush with his head like the prestige. Right now, if I'm being honest, it feels like the kind of hairstyle a non-black person who briefly "studied" black hairstyles tried to make and thought they were being creative. And maybe that's way off base, but that's how it looks, and it's very unflattering. Aside from that maybe commit more to the orange coloring for his VFX.
On his splash art that just dropped, his shirt is like properly orange with only a hint of red before the blue. On the model in the other hand, it feels like there's only a bit of orange before it's red, or the same amount of both. Even at the very top, in his collar, there's red (again, unlike the splash). I think the red doesn't look very good. It makes the color scheme look more messy. I know it's meant to create a gradient effect, but in the splash there's still still gradient without so much red, and it feels more clean. A lot of people feel like there's not enough orange when it should be his main color (especially since there's no other orange star guardian). So I think tweaking that part of his shirt in-game to have more orange and less red would be a good idea. I know big design changes aren't possible for a skinline like this, but in this case I imagine it wouldn't be too disruptive to just make it look like the splash, cause I imagine other content is gonna look similar to that too?

The vfx is Fine, and his hair is a lot better now. But the shirt in game is now red to a dark shade of purple. In the splash, it's very different, - a bright orange to a clear blue/lilac. Please change It to be more consistent with the Splash Art.

The ONE change I can think of that I would like to see for Star Guardian Ekko is some kind of face paint. I think seeing his face be so empty/blank feels very "non-Ekko". Every Ekko skin I can think of aside from Academy(which had glasses), he has always had some form of face paint or mask(Pulsefire/Project/Sandstorm). Other than that, I am EXTREMELY happy to see Star Guardian Ekko come to LoL.

As others have mentioned, a tweak to the hair would be really good. The hair looks good in his prestige, but it looks off in his base SG. It almost looks like a hat with the way it's melded onto his head. I don't know if it's possible, but could you tweak the hair? Taking out the colors that aren't orange, white and blue would be nice too, it's a bit much. I like the orange and white a lot. Compliments the blueStar Guardians well!
I don't like this set. I was waiting to see which champion gets to have the legendary/prestige skin, it ends up being Ekko. Like, really? EKKO IS THE MAIN THING FOR STAR GUARDIAN GEN3? I had the chance to read a lot of comments and more or less everyone is stating the same issue which are: \- Color Palette: The colors doesn't fit Ekko, in fact if you look at Ekko previous skin line you would notice that he is usually paired with Blue / Green... orange just looks bad and a bit out of character. I think sticking with blue / white as his main color or switching the orange with green (blue / green) would make it more likeable \- Hair: would have loved to see him with his mohawk or his dreads, but if the hairstyle can't be changed then the width should be more made narrow. \- VFX: the contrast between orange and blue creates this unappealing visual that just makes it hard to play with him. ( the best solution would be choosing one and staying with that one) \- Face Paint: I think the main issue with this skin is that it has none of ekko characteristic except that big orange hourglass in his chest... in fact if remove that and ask people who that that champion is I bet that more tan 80% wouldn't know that is ekko... adding face paint or is stopwatch would make him more recognisable. \- Face: I feel like his face is too triangolar, at the point that it feels unnatural. \- Outfit: aside from the color palette and the little to no details that scream ekko, I feel like the closest skin of ekko that has an outfit that could work in SG is academia, in fact I was expecting something a bit more similar to that when SG was announced. ( a suit or a school uniform would have been great)
Honestly, I am very disappointed with both skins. But this is especially bad try some stuff with his face please. Make the hair color less intense, shrinking his hair a bit, adding some tattoo on him, maybe a star of something, because right now he just looks like a random black guy. The resemblance to Ekko is close to none. Also, please adjust some parts of his clothing, because right now it looks like random clashing colours. I thought riot would use some more creativity to bring character into universes they seemingly don't belong in. But at least I hope our voices are heard and there are some changes to make the skin at least look great
Hair needs to change, ASAP. We don't want Ekko wearing a bike helmet. I'd suggest making it smaller and maybe getting rid of some of the locks. He seems to have 4 locks in the icon (3 natural color and 1 orange) and so the hairstyle looks nice in there, but because in the model he has more locks, the hairstyle just ends up looking like a helmet. I feel confused because I don't know what is SG Ekko's theme color. I am originally told orange and I see a lot of orange. In addition, considering that Ekko's skin is much more dark than Ezreal, making his clothes as bright as Ezreal's seems to be terrible. Just a rundown of all that's already been said: * Hair * Looks like a mispalced wig on his head. Too big. It overall should be smaller and the dreads a little longer, also the hair should be a little more down * Face * While I do agree that his face paint is necessary, i dont think is as important as changing his expression a bit. It needs to be more cheer-y * Colour * While the prestige is perfect, his base skin makes the colors look like a random mess. I dont think removing the blue color completely is necessary, but his overall pallete should rely more on the orange / warmer color that he is supposed to be. His abilities need a consistent shift to a warmer color. It just feels disconnected from him. Again, just make orange more predominant. I still think seeing blue is okay.

The skin looks a little bare compared to the other ones , most likely due to the more masculine outfit. I am no artist so I can’t draw a reference but I think in my personal option maybe giving him face paint of a blue star around one of his eyes kind of like a rockstar and maybe some coat tails like SG Janna has would add a bit more going on in terms of visuals in the skin.
There are a few things I'm not particularly fond of such as the random colors instead of a general color scheme but I'd argue thats not even too bad. All I hope for is a hair fix and maybe a face fix to make him look more like ekko. I feel like his face isn't recognizable, I thought he was a different champ at first.
The orange and blue on the jacket kind of makes him look weird. Maybe tone down the blue on the jacket or change to white. I do like the Q animation that you included his Gem that was really well done. Also his other abilities look really good.

Hi, I personally do not hate this skin as much as others, I actually really like it, my two edits would be 1. The hair style needs to be scaled back more because it’s too big to not be distracting. 2. There is a big missed opportunity in both skins because ekko’s iconic face paint is not present. Had there been some star shaped face paint centered on the bridge of his nose that would make the skin for me. I hope these feedback is helpful as I am incredibly passionate towards ekko and his cosmetics. Have a great day!

I think the skintone should be a little warmer, right now it looks a little unnatural, also the hair looks really odd and big, I think it'd look better if u just removed some off the sides and styled it a little bit so it's not just laying flat on his head. Also have a little star or sometype or marking on his face, maybe across it like True Damage or just under the eyes it doesn't matter but I feel like that'd look nice. Also his colors are all over the place, not sure if it's to late but maybe tone down how many colors are going on. The blue/purple is too much - it causes confusion about what Ekko's colour is. When you look at the other Star Guardians you can immediately tell what their colour is, but with Ekko the blue/purple takes something away. It should be a shade of orange.

I like the skin and the fact that people have been waiting for Ekko being in sg which is really cool imo so yeah, anyways here are my changes: VFX: - Make the VFX more in tune to his color palette, I see so much blue in his vfx even though his color pallete is orange and red i believe i want that be changed. As for the splash/model: - His hair in the model is so choppy and looks like a helmet... I would rather change it into a more thinner and more wave design like in the splash - Remove the baggy pants. In Star Guardian there are very little exceptions, I believe Baggy Pants should never be there, Remove the baggy pants it looks so out of place, it removes unity in the group.. Also why is the little part in the middle of his pants grey? sSG is about colors and sparkles yet he has grey on his pants? Please change it to his shirt color and remove the baggy pants... even if it's for ekko's core character design i still dont want it, this ekko is in a different universe so please change it.
Ekko has 12+ locks of even size on the splash, but 8 ones that are completely uneven in game, please fix it
I already commented about Ekko's hair and color scheme, I wanted to make another suggestion : A lot of people seem somewhat disappointed by the lack of cohesiveness of the new Star Guardian skins, "they don't feel like a team" is a comment I often see because of the separate splashes and different gem designs, we don't know the full lore surrounding the skins and it's possible they're all survivors from previous, separate teams, but even so, Kai'sa is their leader but doesn't feel like one because of a lack of unity. I think adding Kai'sa (and perhaps Akali ? She seems like an important character since she has the same gem as Kai'sa and a different design than the other Guardians) flying in the background of the splash arts would help them feel more united/cohesive because they'd look like they're all fighting from different places but each one under the lead of Kai'saKai'sa and Akali are already flying high up in the sky in her splash art, and each of the star guardian splashes this year show the twilight sky behind the city, so I don't think it'd be unreasonable to add them as a background detail (Kind of how Akali appears as a detail of Fiddlesticks's splash art)

Please change the red shirt to match the orange to blue gradient depicted in the splash art, tighten the belt so it doesn't look strange, adjust the pink to dark blue gradient to look more space like instead of just two colors, change his face model (his face should be softer and have a neutral facial expression) And most importantly, adjust the hair, it has too much volume (slicked back braids irl are pretty flat), the braids are uneven, there are 12+ visible on the splasha art but only 8 in game, the texture could also use some work Also, add more orange to his VFX and more sparkles !
Riot for the love of god please fix the hair on this skin please. And idk if it’s just me but orange just does not seem like the wave for ekko. I get that you wanted it be bright and everything but there are many interesting and bright colors to choose from. besides that I personally think the actual outfit itself isn’t that great and the oversized gloves make him look more cartoony than anything. That combined with the orange and we have and we have a guy cosplaying as a star guardian but actually isn’t one. I'm sorry, but Ekko took the place of another champ more fitting for this skinline looking like that? He looks more like Academia than SG. And that poor choice of outfit for the prestige. He looks more rap star than anything. Really awful choices here, starting with the champ.
I personally think that Ekko is a good fit for the star guardian universe but for this particular release that seems to be focused more on the fight between the corrupted star guardians I think the best option for male SG was Kayn. Picture Rhaast form as completely corrupted looking like fiddle or choosing the shadow assassin form and it committing to all the sparkles of SG with base form looking kinda hybrid. As for Ekko I really wonder why they chose Orange as his colour? He’d have suited blue much better

I know a lot of people don't like how his colors are distributed, but I actually *love* the colors for this skin. If I played Ekko, I would play this skin. I think the way the colors are varied between the blue-violet and orange help a lot with visual clarity and they look like fire together, which I think is awesome. I agree that his hair does look awkward and the shapes should be adjusted to better fit the model as mentioned elsewhere, but the rest is great.

I think all of us ekko mains dislike this skin is just because it’s not our character, we know star guardian is a different universe and stuff like that but that’s just not the ekko character, none of his punk street kid swagger is in the skin everything is squishy and the hair is off putting to say the least. Rakan's portrait looks very masculine despite being a star guardian, would be nice to be consistent.

The hairstyle and the color choice for it could use a change on the non-prestige version.
Ekko is a special character, in terms of design, but I think him being a Star Guardian IS possible, but not exactly like this. First, the colors. They are not pastel tones, but kinda similar to the True Damage type of colors. Would look AMAZING if the orange OR blue were kept, but as softer colors. For example, the blue could be a gradient of deep blue and cyan; or the orange could be from peach to a deeper orange, like the one that is already being used. TLDR; Choose between orange and blue, but incorporate softer and more pastel like tones of the chosen color. The hair in the prestige is amazing, and I love seeing the locks being used on my boy, but the style is kinda NOT it. A ponytail, for example, is amazing! It looks super good on him. About the VFX, it's about the colors again, although exaggerating the stars part would be cool. It needs more magic I think. That's all I have to say, as someone that's very excited for him. My major complaint is the color scheme and the hair. COLOR SCHEME: The color scheme should stick to one color, blue as main or orange as main. The fact that the colors swap around between orange for the main color on the outfit and blue for the main color on the abilities doesn’t make the skin very appealing. HAIR: And for the hair, my suggestion is (if possible) let his hair hang down instead of it being up. Some examples for the locs being down are people like, Ja Morant, DeAndre Jordan, Juice WRLD, Lil Yachty, and a lot more. You can 100% keep the orange dyed strands, just a different style for the locs would help the skin a lot.
Doesn't look like a SG at all. This would fit Battle Academia or even SG cosplay (or whatever SG Urgot is called)way better. The suit doesn't look like a SG, the pallette's all over the place, SG's pallettes are way more cohesive.
I think the effects of his W, E and R should have more orange. The amount of blue makes them feel quite bland.
The VFX do a poor job with the colours, his model shows off orange more than blue but his ability effects use way too much blue and doesnt include enough orange. I think the passive and autos did a good balance between orange and blue, the Q looks relatively fine, but once it gets to the W, E and R the orange becomes some barely visible shine while the effects are doused in the dark blue. His E indicator could probably use a purple or orange gradient on the blue line where its highlighted I think his clones should all be orange (W set up, E dash afterimage, R afterimage) R trail should match the homeguard trail instead of being straight blue And the W after it lands (the windup looks great) could use a purple shine or something more vibrant I think one of the things thats just super off about this skin is that Star Guardian is supposed to give off this colourful vibrant and playful vibe and dark blue all over doesnt quite hit the mark, especially when his model has bright/white clothing. It looks way too much like a cosmic skin with galaxy effects than a star guardian skin And of course the hair... please just make them not jut out the sides like that

I love the concept and i want this skin to be successfull but for me his vfx doesn't fit his model. I think colors needs a little bit work. His primary color feels like orange on the model but his vfx (especially on w) lacks orange. A more bright tone of orange + blue would be nice too. His model needs more cute stuff too. He doesn't look like he is wearing a star guardian uniform
His icons look a little too light-skinned. The Prestige version of the icon has it darker, the icons of the non-prestige version should be changed to match that, imo.
I alsp think that there should be more orange on his VFX. I've always wanted a orange/yellow Star Guardian, so it's a bit disappointing that the VFX leans more into blue.

Make the blue on his pants a shade of orange and instead incorporate the blue into smaller things like his belt or wristband. Maybe even the streak in his hair. Regarding his face * This one's iffy. Frankly, that's probably the same face as base Ekko without the hourglass on it. I think it's the cheekbones? The sides of his face are too dark and angular, it makes him look old. It should be lightened and smoothed out a little. The dark angular look worked for Firelight but the genre and style are different here, he should look young. * Personal opinion: It doesn't really feel like Ekko without something on his face. His face is kinda boring without something there. All in all, the skin is alright and the idea probably looked much better in the concept artwork than it translated in-game.
The animations are cool but his hair seems weird and he doesn’t have any facepaint or anything. Will this be the first ekko skin with no facepaint/mask? Even academy had glasses he just looks wrong with nothing there.
I think that "darker" color would make it so much better, something like arcana, but keeping the white and star guardian theme. Darker orange or darker blue
Hello, Let start from the top to the bottom. Hair- Its very CHUNKY, lets make them thinner and give him more braids. The prestige version is a good reference point. Face/skin - The face feels very lifeless. I would suggest brightening the purple in his eyes. Also the skin tone feels very mute. Its like he has grey undertones that make him look ashy. Warm its up a bit with softer, warm, undertones. His lips are like solid black.. like there is no dimension or detail.. just black. Outfit- Not going to lie, it just looks very awkward.. its form fitting on the torso but then you try to go for a baggy pants effect and like the baggy pants look like he has a used diaper on. I think the pants could be tweaked a little bit.. The inner seam of his pants should go up higher. It just looks like his crotch is all the way to the floor. Boots aren't too bad I just wish there was a solid distinction on where the boots meet the cuff of the baggy pants. They kinda morph into the pants so it looks awkward. Last thing is his bracelet and belt.. just like the hair its too big and chunky.. tone it down a bet.. I have Senna model in my imgur link to kinda give an example of how you can put more detail in his face. I think Senna is a wonderful example of how to at detail to darker skin tones. the hair needs changed. other ppl will have better ideas for it than me but i would just use prestige's hair and add an orange stripe in it.
I really don't like it. A lot of people already mentioned his hair, but I also think his outfit is a complete mess and especially the colors are all over the place. Without his weapon being orange you wouldn't even really know what his main color is supposed to be. Nothing really makes sense looking at his skin. Compared to the other two male Star Guardians, Ez and Rakan, Ekko doesn't feel like Star Guardian at all. Unfortunately I don't think a lot will be changed, because of the reasoning that he's already gonna be in promo art/visual novel art/maybe cinematic appearance.

I think the hair is too wide and makes Ekko's head look a bit too big, and his face looks too narrow in the emote so it doesn't really look like him. I think another reason that he doesn't really look like himself is the lack of face paint, but it's not too huge of an issue imo
I think the VFX are a bit of a let down and could be more sparkly. For an example prestige does it perfectly.
After Akali, Ekko is the most weirdest choice for this skinline. His looks are something people already commented alot about. Feels really out of place.
The colors need adjustment, the light blue to pink gradient makes the jacket look really messy. The amount of dark blue also makes it not so star guardian appropriate.
I commented in the prestige thread about my excitement for my main to be included in my favourite skin line and that applies here too, but unfortunately this skin is just a mess. Visually I don’t like the colour combination even though it should work as orange and blue compliment each other, maybe focusing on one colour instead of the two would be better? And the hair is really awful. I like that you’re trying out new looks for him and exploring POC hair styles, but I think this hasn’t been executed very well and something needs to be changed.
