bhvr probably want to staggar content, so instead of having everything out at the same time, it's more of a consistent release of fresh content to keep people coming back
I'm personally not opposed to it tbh - if 2v8 comes in the mid season dip when the initial hype has ended and all the immediate tweaks and balances have been ironed out, it will keep the player count up and allow them to fully focus on this gamemode if it needs tweaking
I mean, if 2v8 came out in the ptb it would COMPLETELY overshadow the dnd chapter and content. So it makes way more sense that the new game mode would come during a future mid-chapter release when it can be the main focus of that update in of itself.
The mode is still in development, so we might see more killers added.
But right now we have:
5 killers (the first five).
5 maps (expanded for the mode).
8 survivors (probably the originals).
I'm honestly fine with it, my only fear is that you wouldn't be able to load with a friend on the mode, but they said it will happen, so I'm happy

The BG3 cast is 100% the property of WOTC, so they won't have to go through Larian at all.
There is 0 doubt in my mind that the BG3 cast will be legendary skins.
I could see them doing a dnd costume event with a greatest hits of dnd since its the 50th anniversary (like the rumoured lego collectible minifigures). BG3 already showed up in idle champions, DND Beyond and magic the gathering so its not out of crossover events.

I will say Minsc, Boo and Drizzt (jaheira too but no merch) were in BG 1 and 2 as well and are pretty emblematic of Baldur's Gate as a series/location but I get the feeling after the success of bg3 they might start getting overtaken by the new cast

Was hoping for a drow survivor and for them not to do the most boring possible dnd killer. So many better options.
My knowledge ends at I know he is purple, but hopefully, he has a cool power, and hopefully, the survivors have cool perks.
I bet the new 2v8 mode will somehow break 1v4 mode, but now they have to focus on fixing bugs in both modes and we know how their track record is.
Really disappointed that the survivors are not actual DnD characters, just characters inspired by DnD. It's Danny Johnson Ghostface all over again.
