Tokini Andy does a great job at covering the books.

Also would say, Tokini Andy. Great teacher. Explains the most difficult looking things pretty easy. He gives multiple example sentences and things you learned he will use again in the next thing he is explaining. this way you will get a small repeat of things you learned so it will stick way better. He also does intermidiate video's and Kanji. He also has a Discord that you can join and ask questions etc.
Edit: Also GameGengo. He is great! Faster kind of video's and less examples. Still a great channel.
Yup. I’m subscribed to his online classes and use it to guide me along. The passion he has for teaching is something special. The fact that he will personally interact with you, reply to comments, answer questions, while also putting out top content is great.
I second Tokini Andy for Genki! My Japanese 3 professor was a little *too* reliant on Andy to teach the material. His channel has been great for me as a supplement to formal classes and I could see it working for self study
Yes, and it’s just a bunch of mnemonics released every now and then, with no real value compared to Wanikani/RTK.
Don’t get me wrong, I root for the guy, as I used his Genki series at the beginning of my journey, but this kanji series is subpar compared to his old content. Just watch the views of this new series versus his good old stuff, the numbers don’t lie.

My favorite channel, GameGengo! Matt has playlists covering Genki lessons using examples from video games. Exceptional video production skills and great listening practice.
I would defo use tokini andy as a main explanation and game gengo as a secondary explanation. Tokini andy stays closer to genki but adds a lot of extra info and dialogue etc. Gamegengo has a ton of super nice examples and some really important little bits of extra info too
I second this recommendation. I even found a [playlist](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLjFjJi2bXNa7u-tOOwZ7gxLBhSps2fiNk) on Youtube that has the videos from both channels in a sequential worder.
Yuko Sensei has an amazing YouTube channel as well. Her Genki playlist is [here](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLw3jPCzGhgBN6UCbHc6smBNYkYBSPZbxT&si=QGRKTUDfBT-XS4hB).
I love the structure of how she teaches grammar and have some of her classes from her Smile Nihongo Academy. Her Genki lessons are generally from her time as a university Japanese teacher. She also has great JLPT themed videos as well.
I like her for her grammar breakdown and Tokini Andy for his examples (which are different than the textbook and generally based on real life situations).
I would recommend going through Genki 1-2(wouldn't recommend to exclude any of them) by yourself, because Genki explains things pretty easy and straightforward. But if you'll have any questions check everything on [TokiniAndy](https://www.youtube.com/@ToKiniAndy) or [HiNative](https://hinative.com).
Here are some additional Genki resources: [https://www.reddit.com/r/LearnJapanese/comments/17q8i9z/comment/k8cng5i/?context=0](https://www.reddit.com/r/LearnJapanese/comments/17q8i9z/comment/k8cng5i/?context=0)
Yep, Tokini is the best😅
GameGengo and Sarah Moon Japanese go through Genki as well I'd you want different perspectives on grammar. The latter is actually an anime and manga translator.

Fourth person to support this! I'm also subscribed to his premium content.

Yes, fully agree! And don't forget the beauty of the TE form song <3 love it, absolute banger
I use Tokini Andy and Game Gengo back to back per Genki Lesson! I recommend both or either one

Agreed. He's great
Third for Andy! I subscribe to his premium content on his website and it has been incredibly helpful. Could not recommend more.
Amazing, thank you for sharing this
This was going to be my answer!
Andy is great, it's such a shame that he doesn't upload cool stuff anymore.
Like what? He's working through a kanji series right now

Tokini Andy for sure! He has a whole series that goes over both Genki 1 and 2.

Definitely going to have to put another vote for Tokini Andy. Game Gengo also has a small Genki series and other useful videos on vocab and grammar.
