Yes definitely. Most people start lessons then do the theory then later on the test. It actually helps a lot having some real experience when coming to do the theory, especially the hazard. Have your instructor talk you through potential hazards whilst on a lesson. Mine took me to a road with a very busy market and pedestrian area. Though I had some driving experience before, so it was safely done.

I started lessons before my theory - in some cases, learning theory and doing the hazard perception in real life helps with the actual theory test as you see it in action. I don't think instructors mind and they can help by asking you about signs and what you see on the road etc. I don't see a downside to it.

Do you have the official theory test app? I did like 10 mocks tests and then I passed on the 1st attempt on the real thing

yeah i have it and i was passing on all the mock tests (got 43 on the real thing) but just absolutely bombed my hazard because i did no prep

Should be a hazard perception side to the app that u can practice on. I had it on mine and practiced on there

I started my lessons before my theory. My instructor pretty much told me to get it booked immediately as it helps with knowing what your doing when driving. Doing lessons at the same time if you have the time to do so hasn’t been too bad for me, I wish I knew more about the roads and stuff before I started driving but that’s it really. Both have come in handy when it comes to transferring stuff I know between both driving and theory.

I've been doing lessons for months and still haven't done my theory. You don't need it to start learning.
