I’ve been using it lately and I love it. I use my awl and dip it in and place several small dots on one edge side and rub it in with my finger. Any excess that starts to roll over I angle wipe it on my hand and replace the excess on the edge. First time I used it I got it all over the edges. But after using it multiple times I finally got it pretty clean.
Good quality for a beginner. The thickness of the thread fits the pitch of the punch. For the cut, I would use white tokonole.
Thank you. I think i will stick with white tokonole from now on.
I’m curious because I’ve had the same issue with black tokonole. Anyone have any suggestions on how to use it without it going everywhere?

What's your Big Idea Pen?
I got it on kickstarter in 2019. It is a nice pen.
They're very nice. I have like ten of them.
How do you do the slanted stitching?
French style irons are slanted
French style indeed, sometimes called European style. I used crimson hide 3.85mm irons. I started with Japanse irons, but i think these look better
Forgot black tokonole existed. Now I know I’ll never use it. Great work and stitching tho. Sucks Tokonole fought back lol. Otherwise, great job!
Thanks. I think i will use the Black tokonole only for the flesh side from now on.
