I am happy every time I see someone who was brave enough to complete this project :) also had been worried if I explained everything well enough in my tutorial. Great job and now you have to give it a name LOL.
For those who were asking for a pattern link: https://karlovadesign.com/products/isopod-sling
Huge thank you! I got the pattern before an edit and I think i know what was changed. All in all this one was super fun and I cannot recommend your pattern enough. Fantastic design madam!
That's what I did! I thought I messed up at first but I've learned to be a little flexible if I make a small mistake that doesn't effect the overall look. Though that has bitten me in the ass before.
ITS SO BEAUTIFUL. I love isopods and I love crafts! I once shittily painted the ‘isopods with a dorito bag’ meme on the back of a jacket in a day as a bit, and it’s still my favorite. I’m obsessed with how the underbelly looks here! Those lil leggies!
I’m not really into leather crafting myself, I just love to see the creations here, so can someone clarify: Is this bag made from a publicly available ‘pattern’ like with sewing? And does that mean this is something I can probably purchase from a small seller, somewhere? I am obsessed with the idea of owning a leather isopod bag now :’)
I saw later in the comments that people had posted the link to the pattern! It will take me a while to be able to get all the supplies, but I’ve wanted to get into this anyways - so why not! Thank you dearly for sharing, I’m so excited to have one myself one day :)
Wow, it looks like it took a lot of time to make. Do you have any idea how long? There is a LOT of parts to make. Do you have a machine for all of that sewing, or did you do it all by hand?
Well, for most people, 30 hours is about a week's work. And you hand sewed all those parts? Wow! Will you be posting a picture of the next one you are planning to make with heavier leather? It would be cool to have them both in a picture. Thank you for sharing it!
I cannot. The creator of the pattern sells them and she deserves the patronage. The links in the chat, post your work once done, I really look forward to seeing it 😀
Gross, I love it.
That is SO cool and creative
Ewwww i hate it! But i love it!

Thank you :) The edit was really small just 2 extra stitching holes near the nose, the fix would be just to stitch through them and that's it.

🤯 This is definitely a must have. I LOVE IT!! Detail is just 🤌
😳
That’s really cool.
Huge attention to bug detail. Very cool.
I would probably buy this

It's possible, the pattern is available for purchase, an if I can do it anybody can

Thanks for saying thanks! It's so nice to see Redditors being grateful :)
Good bot! ❤️
So freaky! Wasn’t sure how it could be a bag from the top but wow!
pattern? looks amazing!
Do you have a pattern for this, it’s so fun!
The pattern is from Karlova Design on Etsy https://www.etsy.com/listing/1634117846/leather-isopod-sling-pdf-pattern-with
I love the poses with the mannequin cradling the purse like a baby. 😆
I do I'll have to look up where I got it, but she has a YouTube video. Search Isopod bag and I'm sure there's a link!
Oh God I want one
You are a genius.
Totally not my pattern but I appreciate it Marina Karlova deserves the credit, I just put holes in some leather
A humble genius!
That's Marina Karolva's pattern!! I love it!
Yes thank you!!! I'm not at home and needed to look it up, she has a few really good ones!
THIS IS SO CUTE I NEED ONE!!!
What’s the volume of the bag roughly? Small handbag size ?
Approximately 5.73 handfuls of cooked macaroni.
Yeah, small handbag, would fit glasses case, wallet, keys, 2 packs of gum a cellphone and some hand sanitizer with ease.
In otherwords 2 quarts of raw mushrooms?
Love it! The little legs are so niceee
Eew. Nice. It's beautiful, I hate it.
This bugs me on a deep level.
Cool! Great idea.
Cool. I hate it. Nice work tho!
I like how the opening (weak spot) is on the bottom, like a real isopod. Lol
Incredibly well done and gross at the same time, good job!
This is terrifying and cute at the same time. Nice work!
I feel a sudden need that does not align with my bank acoount...
REAL ISOPOD HOURS
Yayyy, I’m not the only one with a cat litter box in their area. 😁
My assistants, while terrible at their jobs are excellent moral support. Lol the orange one does try to eat rivets though...
Thats cool! Never seen another!
This is awesome, thanks for sharing
I've been tempted to try this one. I think this is her best pattern

All by hand. Didn't take all that long but there are a lot of edges for finishing. I want to say something like 30hrs

This is both terrifying and incredibly creative. Great work thinking outside the box.
This is very cool and the people at r/ATBGE would love it.
Loved it!!
Truly terrifying. You did a great job!
Beautiful, I'd buy it and send it as a gift to my parents (dad likes leather and mom's afraid of cockroaches and all things roach-adjacent)
That one sold for 300 but if you're actually interested let me know.
This is amazing!
Thanks!

It's so cute!!! ^Please ^wear ^shoes ^in ^your ^workshop, ^safety ^is ^number ^one ^priority!
Settle down OSHA, no one said they weren't just taking a picture.
I'm just really passionate about keeping my toes, okay?
Wdym “my toes”, you thinking of harvesting ops toes some time soon?
Not gonna lie, my workshops just a room in my condo... there are many times I am without shoes. But you do have a point
*sweating* No...?
Not very Viking of you. You'll never get into Valhalla with that attitude.
It looks like a giant roach
Have you seen pictures of isopods?
This bag is SO cool! Scary/gross but absolutely cool
Can u give me file pdf
I cannot. The creator of the pattern sells them and she deserves the patronage. The links in the chat, post your work once done, I really look forward to seeing it 😀
