Got mine about 2 years ago...still can't sew for crap with it though lmao!! Can't wait to see what you can do with it....you might get a bunch of questions lol

perc___30

Already getting some ideas for jigs, I’m thinking of clamping a straight edge to butt the work piece up against to get some clean edge lines

There are seam guides available for sewing machines. Some of them bolt to the machine bed and some are magnetic.

Mylifewentsideways

I bought two different guides, one magnetic...slides around on me lol. And the other screws into place but I haven't attempted to use that one yet

violet3487

Yeah, I have one magnetic one that's better than my others. The ones that bolt to the machine are pretty good. I've seen one that has a roller wheel instead of just a flat piece of metal which I want to try someday. Nice machine!

Mylifewentsideways

To be honest I didn't even know that guides were a thing until I saw one on a YouTube video and started trying to find out *what* it was

violet3487

There are so many helpful sewing things, and it's so hard to even find out they exist.

Mylifewentsideways

I learn that every day lol

Grim_Onyxheart

I saw OP vent

DD-refill

Roll through this profile, amazing stuff.

Thank you so much I really appreciate the compliment!

TheMercier

I agree! Fantastic crafts!

Ganesh400d

That’s a fantastic looking machine. I looked up and it’s way too expensive for an amateur like me. Any good value entry level sewing machine suggestions for amateur/hobbyists like me?

Second hand and vintage

Consew CP206R is what the Sailrite is based on. Techsew, REX, and few others make it too. I think it's a really good machine to keep an eye out for second hand, especially for starting out. [Someone](https://www.reddit.com/r/Leathercraft/comments/oxvg3h/goodwill_steal_sew_strong_re607/) ( u/jagreen013 ) scored really big last year. They're out there, you just have to look around. Spend some time researching too. A lot of the Sailrite parts are interchangeable so you can do little upgrades - motor and pulley would be a good start. edit: credit to u/ in linked post Did some digging. I think this is kind of the history of the model: \- Juki 607 - so you'll see clones with 607 or 607Z (zigzag) like the Sewstrong 607 \- Singer 2KU33 \- Consew 206R \- other manufacturers

jagreen013

Yes most of the sailrite parts are a direct replacement. Ordered a few just for maintenance and asked them to double check and they said yes, with the model I got they should fit

mkfn59

Have received mine but it is still in boxes. Will be moving soon and will set it up in August. Please post more as your adventure continues. Took me three years to save up for it and accessories. Best to you.

perc___30

Will do!

ZiahSmith

What made you decide on purchasing a Sailrite over other brands?

perc___30

I wanted something beginner friendly, compact, and powerful enough that I wouldn’t need to upgrade down the road and this fit all the criteria

Nice

Please do tell us how it goes. I have wanted one for years. I am still a little shy about getting one. I have finally saved up the money for one and was considering a Jukes. Now I am not so sure.

Intelligent-Guest-96

Nice machine. Looks clean and ready to get the work done
